Review British Cafe - Gatineau

Best coffee place in town. We had a latte with a butter and almond croissants. Terrific atmosphere and at the table service. Plenty of parking.

Really enjoyed spending time here. I had a few hours to spend while my significant other was at a private seminar. So I came here had some food and a coffee and hung out and read and did some writing. Very pleasant atmosphere, and the staff was super nice.

Probably my favourite Cafe in Gatineau. Very cosy and comfortable. Love working from here(great wifi). Super friendly staff. 💯 Recommend

Such a cute place! I love studying here because its quaint, has great coffee and tea, and really chill music. The decor is definitely unique and I seem to notice something different whenever I go. The cookies are delicious. The only criticism is that its a on the more pricey side and I wish it was open later! Highly recommended!

Nice breakfast sandwiches/pastry, always a good assortment of cafe delicacies, good lunch options, good coffee. Located in the heart of main street Aylmer, Cafe British has been my remote working location when I don’t feel like spending the day in my home office.

I live nearby and this is such a cute little spot so I'll give it 4 stars! I would love to rate it better for quality and service but it is expensive for what you get and the service could be better. Eg. Today I spent $35 for two sandwiches, a pastry, and drip coffees. I ordered the turkey, brie and crossiant sandwich which sounded good in theory however it had no veggies, mayo or other dressing on it. It unfortunately didn't have much taste and could of used some cranberry or honey mustard, veggies or something for the price. After paying, I asked for the pastry I just ordered 2 seconds prior and I was told I had not paid for it however the barista had confirmed our order back to us. My partner and I then had our sandwiches and coffees in hand about to sit down outside when we were told to come back to the busy line to pay for the second sandwich. So much confusion over a very simple order, but hard to imagine parting with $35 for the service and quality I got there. To end on a positive note, the cafe does offer some gluten-free options which is awesome to see on the menu.

Amazing place to spend some quality studying time, make sure to bring your headphones if noise tends to distract you. The green smoothie was delicious and the staff was extremely friendly. Tip: free unrestricted parking can be found on the side streets.

The good coffee experience, Café British is true hidden gem in Aylmer. This Café is not only about coffee it offers various delicious breakfast sandwiches and popular for parfait it serves.

This is my new favorite Café! It's close to home, has good humoured, friendly staff, great atmosphere and the best Lattes in Aylmer. Shhhhh don't tell too many people or I'll never find a spot to sit. 😊

Types illimités de cafés spécialisés... sans oublier la belle sélections de pâtisseries qui fait saliver... avec le service irréprochable des jeunes employé(e)s aux sourires... accrocheurs...

Les sandwichs ��� je ne sais juste jamais quel prendre tellement ils sont tous trop bon!!!! La déco est trop trop belle et l'ambiance est chouette, j'adore aller étudier la!!!

Vraiment decue. Nous sommes aller mon conjoint et moi pour un souper et soiree entre amoureux . Nous sommes entrer, lhotesse nous a a peine regarder et nous a dit daller sasseoir, on a choisit une table cest assis et personne nest venue nous voir. On a attendue un 10 minutes a se faire regarder par tout les serveurs (euses) sans meme se faire dire bonsoir ou un instant. On cest lever et sommes partie. Vraiment decue. Premiere et derniere fois que nous y allons. Lhotesse restait la a nous regarder et a texter. Vraiment decues.

Le service est toujours courtois et rapide, la nourriture est toujours excellente et les plats sont originaux. L'ambiance est bonne et les prix sont raisonnables. J'ai recommandé ce café à plusieurs personnes et j'y suis allée avec plusieurs différentes personnes qui partagent le même avis sur mes commentaires ci-haut mais aussi sur cette remarque constructive qui change de 5 à 3 les étoiles que j'ai données pour évaluer ce café: Il n'est pas accessible du tout pour les poussettes et les personnes à mobilité réduite. En plus, les toilettes sont au sous-sol. J'espère sincèrement que les propriétaires vont au moins rectifier en partie cette fâcheuse constatation et rendre leur bâtiment accessible. Entre temps, j'imagine que je peux toujours continuer à faire deux voyages un pour ma coquille et un autre pour ma poussette et emprunter les toilettes d'un autre commerce puisque je trouve cela dangereux de monter/descendre les escaliers avec ma coquille et mon bébé mais ceux en fauteuils roulants ou en manchette ne peuvent même pas rentrer...

Homemade soup, yummy sandwich, fresh herbal tea and coffee (love the Cafe au Lait) and above all the ambiance is really nice. Great place to go hang out with your best friend or just by yourself.

Don't just get your cofffee fix, get your home decor inspo too. Hands down the best coffee shop I have been to in the Outaouais/Ottawa region. I was a long time fan of Planet Coffee and Bridgehead but this place has won me over in a heartbeat. Aylmer needed this little gem badly and it's a very cozy and charming place to sit back and relax with some high quality coffee products, good music and good free wifi. 5 Stars! xo

Perfect café. The hubby and I headed out just wanting somewhere to grab a soup and sandwich. This place was spot on. The staff was uber friendly. They had one soup on and it was delicious. We shared a chicken BLT panini which was incredibly tasty. At the end we were tempted by a dessert which didn't let us down. We will we be back to enjoy a coffee. The decor is lovely. A great addition to Aylmer's main street.
