Review Haru Izakaya - Gatineau

I would say this is the best sushi restaurant in the area! I enjoy a date night here with my partner at least once every two weeks or so because the food is EXCELLENT👌Specifically, food sources have always been quality and fresh. Must haves shown in the photos: tuna and seafood sushi pizzas, vegetarian role, knockout maki, cowboy maki, and mushroom beef

Fantastic evening. It is best to be at least four people so everyone has a chance to try and share some plates between friends. Take your time to enjoy your meal.

First time going there, service was quick and friendly. They make the rolls fresh to order and the quality of the ingrediants are amazing. The place is quite small so it can get busy quite quickly.. their creme brûler was smooth and super tasty as well.. they burned the sugar on top right before coming to the table so it was still nice and warm and crunchy! would recommend!

Visited the place today for the first time, my server was absolutely amazing ,nice and helpful! Recommended me a desert made with matcha and I loved it! The ambiance is smooth if you wish to go on a date this is a perfect place. It's really beautiful and CLEAN which is hard to find now a days. Some might complain about the price but honestly , if you choose the right dishes you could fill yourself up for less than 30$ and the food is well worth it. I tried multiple platters and I can definitely recommend the Fried Calamari, "saumon croquant" and if you enjoy a little spiciness I recommend the " saumon enflammé! Definitely will FORCE people to eat there lol And will come back !

Love the decor. The food was great. Salmon super fresh; it melted in our mouths. Above all, our server Louisa was lovely and attentionate!

This is by far the best restaurant in Gatineau. Food is very flavorful, unique and has great service. I've been going here for years and tell everyone about it.

This is a cool place for sushi and delicious tapas. The menu is creative. We tried many tapas in their menu and love them all. The outdoor patio is also great! The bar is also a popular place for drinks and sushi. The place is clean and nicely decorated. The washroom is super clean too.

BEST SUSHI/SASHIMI I’ve had in my life. Nice atmosphere, friendly bilingual staff. Meilleur restaurant Japonais à ma conaissance. You have to experience this restaurant for once in your life no matter what the cost.

This place has some great twists on Japanese food. It's Japanese good with sophistication, but with style as well! The staff are extremely welcoming and accommodating. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant gives a fantastic dining experience.

Absolutely outstanding food. Can’t pick a favourite dish as I love them all. Definitely recommend; it’s worth the trip. But don’t go if you want boring run-of-the-mill food. This place is creative and does fusion well. Oh! The cocktail and wine options are fantastic too

Food was excellent sushi was amazing. Took a while for the waitress to warm up to us wasn't exactly friendly to start with. Can't fault the food though.

Nous avions commandé un verre de biere et un verre de vin et la serveuse nous à automatiquement chargé le gros format de 9 oz.(vin) ($15 ou 16$ le verre ) et 20 oz (biere) qui est evidemment le plus cher. Un verre de vin est normalement 5oz, 5oz 1/2. Apres il faut demander au client s il veut le plus gros format. Apres l avoir mentionné a la serveuse, elle m a indiqué que c est la pratique du restaurant. Je doute guere que c est le cas.... Bref asurez vous de specifier votre format ou sinon l entrepise va profiter de vous. Dommage.

Pas la meilleur expérience de sushi que j'ai eu. Je suis allé pour le happy hours, 3 tapas pour 21$, et j'ai été très déçu par les sushi. Rien de ''Wow!'' Pour un restaurant aussi chic. On retrouve de meilleurs sushi au sushi shop ou dans les restos AYCE de sushi comme celui à Aylmer et plusieurs à Ottawa et ce beaucoup moins chère.

1 ere expérience à ce restaurant et j’ai vraiment adoré mon sauté de poulet avec légumes et toutes les autres assiettes de mes collègues étaient très belles et bonne selon leur dire. J’y retournerai assurément.

Ça fait longtemps qu'on avait pas mangé des sushis aussi bons et aussi frais! Excellent service aussi! Nous le recommandons chaleureusement et ils sont Partenaires Freebees en plus! On est doublement heureux :)

Je suis une des gagnantes du concours « un souper pour deux » et j’ai ADORÉ mon expérience au Haru Izakaya � Le service était vraiment en haut de nos attentes et la nourriture...... EXCELLENTE !! Excellent restaurant !! Les sushi sont très bon et très bon choix de taps qui sont aussi très bon !!! La poutine aux fruits de mer est malade !!! Puis vous avez des choix de sushi que vous ne verez pas ailleurs !!

Went here for a date. Certain foods were better than the other. Portion sizes were good for date nights. Enough to try different dishes. The tar tar was good.

I have been here twice and both times lousy customer service. For the price they charge you for Sushi the customer service should be upscale as is the image they portrait. I have left hungry and unsatisfied both times I went. Both times my bills were $70-80 which is expensive for sushi but I really dont mind if it is worth it. This place is however not worth it. The portions are too small, customer service is very poor and prices are not justified. Only reason I am not leaving a 1 is because most of the food we tried was actually quite tasty (the one bite). I will not be back a third time.

Service and food are great! Price is very reasonable. Food is nicely presented. I would definitely come back. I also liked their decor a lot.

Hier soir, nous cherchions un restaurant ouvert le lundi soir pour la fête de ma copine et nous nous sommes finalement rendu au Haru Izakaya (que nous voulions essayer depuis un bout). Notre expérience a été tout simplement WOW! Moi qui n'aime pas habituellement les fruits de mer, et bien j'en ait mangé et j'ai adoré, ce n'est pas peu dire! Je recommande fortement le sushi terre et mer, un vrai délice. <br/><br/>Notre serveur nous a très bien conseillé, belle ambiance relax et chaque plats essayé était fabuleux. Somme toute, les prix sont corrects compte tenu de la fraîcheur et de la qualité exceptionnelle des plats. De plus, la carte permets d'essayer plusieurs combinaisons vraiment intéressante. Nous avons essayé 5 plats + riz + 2 consommations vin et bière et ça nous a coûté 87$ taxes in, ce qui est un prix très correct à mon avis pour une bouffe extraordinaire, bref dans le même ''range'' de prix qu'un bon steakhouse. La qualité, ca se paye ;-) et on a sorti du restaurant bien rassasié. Bref, le Haru est dans mon top 3 des meilleurs restaurants de la province et nous comptons ma copine et moi y aller régulièrement quand l'envie de nous gâter va nous prendre.

Excellent restaurant digne des meilleurs tapas servis à Montreal...le resto est chic le décor moderne. La nourriture est excellente,fraiche et savoureuse. Le service est exceptionnel . Nous y allons régulièrement et ça fait différents des restos franchisés. Excellent endroit pour un 5à7, souper entre amis(es) surtout à la section Bar ou en couple en salle à manger-

Easily one of the best Japanese restaurants in the ottawa/gatineau area, i would place haru closer to the top of that list, in my opinion they are only in competition with new generation sushi and another restarant for top 3 sushi bites in the region, and are ahead of the pack when it comes to asian food with a twist in the region,

Excellent!. Tous les tapas que nous avons goûtés étaient excellents. Pour la région de Gatineau/Hull, je ne connais pas de meilleurs restaurants de ce genre. Nous avons partagé une dizaine de tapas à 4 personnes ainsi qu'une bouteille de vin et une bouteille de saké. Compté environ 75$ par personne, mais ça vaut la peine. Le service était un peu désorganisé, mais notre serveuse a été super gentille et a pris le temps de nous expliquer chacun des plats. J'y retourne sous peu.

Déception. L'accueil et le service étaient courtois. Nos tapas étaient savoureux et la présentation, impeccable.<br/><br/>Nous avons été très déçus par le rapport quantité/prix. 5 minuscules sushis au saumon, 12$: vraiment? Malgré les points positifs énumérés, on comprend mal ce qui justifie ça. Nous avons aussi été surpris par l'absence de légumes au menu. <br/><br/>C'est dommage. Avec de la concurrence dans les environs, le client en aurait probablement plus pour son argent et son appétit.

Pretentieux, Cher, sans gout, sans services. Extremement prétentieux. Un genre de sushi qui ressemblais a du saumon surgeler avec une salsa... pas de gout, et 13$ po...ur une portion de la grosseur de la moitié d'une saucisse hotdog.... (50 gr. maximum).... sans compter la serveuse extremement lente. Elle avait deux tables (4 clients incluant nous). Tres Lente... Dans le 90 minutes requis pour manger 10 GRAMMES de sushis, elle est jamais venu demander pour remplir nos verre, ou si nous voulions un autre verre. Donc 60 minutes minutes a sec. A éviter absolument.

Disappointing service. I brought a friend to Haru Izakaya in Gatineau a month ago, and was delighted. But my experience taking another friend there last evening was terrible. The food was excellent, but one of our primary dishes didn't arrive for more than 40 minutes after the other dishes, it was difficult to get the attention of a server, and when our bills arrived, they had put the wrong items on each bill. This was embarrassing. The restaurant was not busy, so I expected better service.

Best restaurant in the Gatineau sector and certainly one of the best in the region. I love the makis, especially the dragon zen, as well as the calamari, the fried chicken and the octopus! Delicious!

Easy favourite. Finally there is great Japanese tapas-style cuisine in the Ottawa area. Haru Izakaya is easily on the top of my list for go-to Japanese food if you want fresh ingredients and tasty food but also want variety. The small plates menu allows you to try many different dishes without breaking the bank. Every dish that I tried was a clear reflection of the passion that the chef puts into his creations and was simply delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family without a doubt.

Excellent sur toute la ligne. Excellente cuisine pleine de saveurs, présentation soignée, très bonne ambiance et excellent service. À essayer absolumen:t le Ying et Yang (tartare de saumon et tartare de thon avec oeuf de caille) ainsi que le sushi Terre et mer! Malgré le fait que le menu ne s'étale pas sur deux pages, on peut y retourner encore et encore! J'y suis même déjà allée 3 fois dans une même semaine!

First time visit Excellent. We were headed to go to the restaurant next door than on a whim decided to go to Haru Izakaya. Great experience. Excellent food. Food presentation was wonderful. Flavours excellent. Will be return customers. Nice tapas style menu so you can try a variety of items.

Superbe resto, belle ambiance, service hors pairs.. Je vous le recommande si vous avez un appétit d'oiseau ou bien un très gros portefeuille. De type tapas, petite entrées a partager, tout était très très bon mais nous avions faim! Petit menu je ne comprend pas comment on peut y retourner encore et encore. Deja nous a 4 personnes on avait commander une bonne partie du menu. Aussi aucun accompagnement de type riz, ou légumes sautés. Bref pour une bonne ambiance et une petite fringale c'est un bon endroit a aller si non passer votre chemin.
