Review Le Foubrac - Gatineau

Hallam Carter
I highly recommend Le Foubrac as the place to go when you just want a really good burger! They also have awesome french fries. I found the staff very nice and helpful. The atmosphere is conducive to a classic throwback diner that works for me. I also recommend their pudding chomeur!

We absolutely LOVED this restaurant. It is a MUST eat at if you are in Ottawa or Gatineau. It was the best meal of our trip! Wow! And the service was literally perfection -- some of the nicest humans work there🥰 We rode our e-bikes over from Ottawa. What a magical day. I had the Parisienne burger and we had the BEST mac and cheese in our lives. Merci!!!!❤️🥰❤️

So it was solid reggae music over lunch and and a jalapeno cheddar burger with spicy fries. Now, while the burgers don't look like much, they are absolutely killer - easily in the top 5 burger I've ever had, astoundingly great burger! Highest Possible Recommendation!

Loved this place, cute restaurant, hung out on the patio on a beautiful fall day. We brought our Danish coworker and introduced him to poutine! The service was incredible, smiles, pleasant and prompt.

Fantastic poutine- We had the classic. I mean crunchie patate frites, excellent gravy & curds. Good wine, great burgers! Limited seating inside. Reservations recommended. They found us a spot for 2 at the bar- we got lucky!

The food here is amazing. I had a burger that was just out of this world. Perfectly cooked, awesome flavors and the mac and cheese. Wow! Normally I don't like Mac and cheese in restaurants because the noodles get mushy. Not here. The service was amazing and I have to say that the entire staff was great. Very helpful and knowledgeable about their food and drinks.

Excellent poutine. Burger patty is fresh & a good size. Limited seating inside- reservations recommended! They do have a patio which is sure to be busy soon. I'd go again, no doubt. Even just for take out. YUM.

We found this little bistro on visit in 2018. The food & atmosphère was delicious! Left listing Impressionné. We are back visiting Gatineau, so of course returned last night. It was as we remmbered. We each had an amazing burger with cheese etc...yummy!! We shared a classic poutine! Topped off with a Ceasars & Shirley Temple..made for à mémorable dinner. The service was perfect, our server was delightful. If your in the area check it out. Might need a reservation sometimes, we were lucky to get a table without one. Char, Kingston 👍

The party on my Tennessee burger was unfortunately overcooked but was a nice spot to enjoy a drink with friends. Will return to try another one of their burgers.

We went here for an office lunch. First of all the price is ridiculous. 12$ for a burger and no sides are included. They even charged 50 cents for mayo to dip your fries. Second, the service is not very good. The waitress took our order and never came around afterwards to see if we needed another drink or something else etc. Third, the burger was tasty BUT half of our group got sick after eating the burger. Plus, the water tasted like chlorine. You could smell it. Will not be going back here had an upset stomach all afternoon after eating here.

Adorable local spot with many burger options (including chicken, fish and vegetarian). Service was lovely and we did not wait too long. Food was good and prices reasonable but nothing more. Portions are generous. Seating is a bit awkward as the place is very small and cannot accomodate large groups.
Very casual.

This place can use some major improvements from the dated and drab decor to the bland unseasoned food. The burgers are small, dry, and unseasoned. Condiments can not save them. At 9 to 14 bucks for just a burger it should be better than McDonalds. The extra 3.50 for fries us with it because the fries are actually good. You will need to add your own salt of course. The sausage are just run of the mill from any grocery store. Absolutely nothing special. Even the mustard sauce is just straight out of a bottle. 9 bucks gets you one generic sausage and a plate of fries. I would not even consider giving this place s second chance. When you fail at the basics of seasoning your food.... well, enough said.

Website Drew's ReviewIf you're looking for a really authentic Canadian meal, Le Foubrac is where you should be going. They have the fries you're looking for and the burgers to set them apart from other local restaurants. Le Foubrac offers a broad range of creative homemade burgers, poutines and desserts at good prices. Le Foubrac first made its impact in Hull in 2013 when entrepreneur Daniel Morissette and his group invested in the site of a small café that recently closed down in the heart of Wrightville. Shortly after a concept and a refurbishment, Le Fourbrac opened with the attention focused on friendly service and a menu that revolves around sandwiches. The key is to do it right, use good ingredients and blend the flavours to come up with interesting dishes. That's exactly what Le Foubrac does. The place was easy to find and they have a small parking lot. It can accommodate about 6-7 cars. However, I'm certain that there are a lot of street parking nearby. We entered the restaurant/café shortly after 8pm on a Saturday night and it was packed. The seating is a little tight as the space is very small. Especially at the entrance as we had to stand and wait with another group for up to 20 minutes. You’ll also find when the winter comes they put up a black curtain to try and stop the cold wind from blowing in, which limits the space even more.

What a great little place!. This place is small (and hot if you're stuck eating inside during the summer) but the food is so good, and the service is both prompt and polite. Everything was very fresh tasting. I highly recommend the poutine!

Below average. I ordered a Foubrac burger with fries on a tuesday evening.

The fries tasted old oil/grease and were severely overcooked.

The burger was slightly better but still, not very good. The bun was too big and its texture was gooey like. The beef patty was smaller and thin and although seemed of good quality, didn't taste like much. I would have gotten a much better burger/fries @ Harvey's

Don't Miss Out On This Gem. This really is one of the best burger joints in the National Capital Region. Great variety of burgers, the fries are perfectly Belgian and the sauces put it over the top.

The desserts are as good as any top of the line restaurants in the world, all home made.

The staff are warm, friendly, and you can sense their pride in the food.

Can't wait to go back!

Amaizing fries!!. Great little bistro where you have burger, Belgium style French fries and a beer!!
The food is great and really affordable! The place is small and cozy. On the walls, beautiful pictures of an local artist. They use as much products from local producers. The counter and tables were made by local artisan. Great place to discover!!
