Gloria's makes fantastic homemade soups and sandwiches from scratch. Arriving at the restaurant shortly before noon, we were greeted by a line-up to the door. Don't let that scare you. The line moves quickly and, as locals will tell you the food is worth the wait. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable.
I went with the Turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread. I was pleasantly surprised by the heaping pile of turkey they put on your sandwich. I was able to customize it the way I like with all the veggies. They have a variety of different sauces to choose from. The homemade soup was bursting with flavour. Needless to say, I was stuffed afterward.
Very good! Homemade, wholesome food. The staff are so friendly. I leave feeling very full, this is comfort food, but very good food with great flavour
I love this place! The sandwiches, soups and salads are always tasty and fresh. Owner makes them all from scratch and is very friendly
My only complaint is that it doesn't have longer hours, so I can occasionally grab it on my way home from work.
Amazing! The best lunch spot in the fort. I absolutely love her hamburger soup, and grilled ham and cheese sandwiches. A++
This place is fantastic. Gloria greeted me with a warm hello and was a pleasure. I had a pastrami on rye, and spicy buffalo soup. The soup was delicious, a bit salty for me, but delicious. I also really enjoyed the sandwich. The rye bread was grilled and perfectly crunchy on the outside with a nice texture on the inside. I also found out it is freshly baked and has no preservatives, which I appreciate. I'm also a big sauerkraut guy, and it was great. All in all, I left extremely satisfied. Thanks, from a visitor from Vancouver.
Best soup EVER. Just had lunch at Gloria's and it was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Simple, hearty, and delicious! All that and Gloria's charm sure made for a great lunch.
Fabulous GF bread-fresh daily, all her soups are GF, and her GF desserts are so darn good!!
Wonderful place. Quiet and Quaint.
My favorite place to go!!!
Always fresh food, changing up the menu while still getting your favorites.
I found this place using urban spoon! What a fantastic little spot! It is very welcoming and Gloria is extremely friendly. I ordered a turkey sandwich with the home made mayo. I don't know how a turkey sandwich could taste so good but it was fantastic. I can't wait to go back and try the soup. You have got to try this place!
Glorias soup hits the spot. I recently discovered Glorias Soup Spot, and I'm sure glad I did! It's probably the only place in Fort Saskatchewan that offer a daily vegetarian/vegan soup, and sandwich, which we love! The soups are delicious, and the sandwiches are loaded a mile high. The owners are so friendly, and you can tell they take great pride in what they do. Love this place.
Fantastic Lunch Destination!. I randomly stopped by here the other day while on errands in the Fort. While this place looks somewhat newly established the food tastes of experience. I was greeted at the door by a friendly lady who turned out to be the owner. You could see the pride in her smile as she went over the daily soup specials and fresh sandwich ingredients. It was like stopping in for lunch with family and I had the feeling that I was in for a great meal.
Four daily soups were offered, including a chicken and vegetable, a chilie that looked like it'd put meat on your bones, an interesting smelling curry, and another that escapes me at this moment. Sandwich meats included fresh roasted and thinly sliced roast beef and turkey, your deli standard black forest ham and pastrami, and hearty looking tuna and chicken salad mixes. There was a slew of mustards offered along with fresh vegetable toppings. The bread looked fresh delivered from perhaps a local bakery but it might be made on site. They also offer a few salads and desserts.
I went for the chicken soup and a panini style grilled roast beef sandwich with Swiss cheese, horseradish and dijon mustard. The portions were huge and fulfilling. The sandwich was great and the soup was by far one of the best I've had. There was a nice herby aftertaste to the broth and it was riddled with lots of nice chunks of chicken. The only downside was that the carrots were a tad undercooked for my liking. For dessert I nabbed a slice of what is now my absolute favorite lemon square ever. A wonderfully thick yet moist crust topped with a lemon custard that wasn't too sweet or too tart.
Overall it was a great meal that totaled around $12-13 all together. I'll definitely be back. It's important to me to support locally owned and operated businesses, especially ones that take the time to make it worth my while!
