Review The Cellar Pub And Grill - Elora

One of the best dining experiences ever. We were revisiting this restaurant after a few years of not being to Elora. It’s a wonderful relaxing little spot backing onto the river. Jemma was so friendly & welcoming, she went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and taken care of. It was a bit chilly and we were sat near the outdoor heater but even offered us Blankets so we could keep warm! They gladly accommodated my friends food allergy which was so appreciated as dining out can sometimes be a challenge. The food was Excellent !!!! So much so that other guests around us were also speaking amongst each other about how great their meals were. You definitely get what you pay for and the portion size was impressive. Five stars from us ! We will definitely visit next time we’re in town :) thank you for a great evening .

This place has absolutely incredible food. Came here to restaurant hop, fell in love with their Sticky Toffee Pudding, so much so that we had it after lunch, then returned after dinner (at another restaurant) to have it again. Service is attentive, quick and very friendly.

We had lunch here the other day. We had no reservations and were very lucky to have been accomodated as we were a group of 12. Staff were friendly and place was clean. We were seated on their patio which has an amazing view. We had their 8 oz house made sirloin burger, shrimp linguine, english style fish & chips and prime rib steak wrap. Everything was delicious but my fave was the shrimp linguine! Would definitely recommend to eat here if you find yourself in Elora, you won’t be disappointed.

It it very nice/tasty restaurant. Owner and servers were very friendly as well. Lunch is served here until 4 and dinner menu is from 5. We were there just after 4 and we didn't know dinner was starting from 5 but they were able to serve us dinner luckily!

A small little spot on the main street in downtown Elora. Very cozy patio seeting overlooking the stream. Servers are friendly and provide good recommendations for a pleasant experience. Food is good overall, recommend trying their Wild Mushroom Crostini and Calamari as appetizers. Main entrees are also good. The wraps could do with a little more meat in them. Thought that the fillers overpowered the main ingredient of the dish here. Their Linguine is better overall.

Great view and very welcoming staff. I had the Shrimp Linguini and it was some of the best meals I’ve ever tried. s/o to Abby, she was spectacular.

Stellar experience! The staff were courteous and helpful throughout the evening, along with their patio being beautiful! Service was quick to take our orders and the food was brought out promptly. The pasta as well as the calamari were both cooked perfectly and were delicious! Would recommend to anyone visiting Elora!!

We were a party of 4 who came to Elora from Peterborough and Oshawa for a short getaway April 27/28. We did some research looking for a good restaurant for dinner and luckily we decided on The Cellar Pub and Grill! First I want to say this restaurant shouldn’t be called a pub because it is so much more. We had the rib special, the salmon and the pad Thai… everything was outstanding, along with the incredible service from our delightful server Kiley. As an added bonus we received a visit to our table from the talented chef, Kevin…. Always a nice touch. Our only regret is that this wonderful dining establishment isn’t closer to our homes!!!

Do not order the curry. It’s literally a stir fry with some curry powder added to it. Clearly it’s not made by someone who knows what Curry is. There’s no sauce to it, no love, no taste.

I ordered the prime rib medium rare, it came medium well, the sides were roasted potatoes, asparagus, and buttered carrots. The carrots were el dente (hard), and had no flavor! There was definitely no butter used in the cooking of them. For that price I expect better.

The reason why this place got a 2 and not a 1 from me, is it’s saving grace: the stuffed chicken. The only thing the chef seems to do with care. It was delicious, moist, and tasty.

Service was friendly and we sat on the patio by the water.

Well, food was decent enough and the fruit spitzers are good but service sucks. There was two but then one leaving the other scrambling for the entire time we were there. Idiotic.

Do not recommend.

Do Not Recommend. I do not recommend this restaurant. We had to seat ourselves, our waitress came over and told us we had five minutes to order as kitchen was closing. No announcement of specials, no hi how are you, nothing. We quickly browsed the overpriced menu and ordered. I ordered the steak and asked for medium rare. The entree was priced at $29.00 for a striploin!! She drops off the steak, does not ask me to cut into it to check doneness, she just leaves. The steak is RAW! Like cold in the middle. Not only was it raw it was charred on the outside and had some kind of chemical flavour perhaps to make it taste smoked? The actual raw meat had ZERO flavour. Absolutely disgusting. When she came to collect my plate with the steak still on it she didn't even question why I hadn't eaten it. Disgraceful service. Overpriced menu, TERRIBLE food. Will not EVER return.

What a great view!. My girlfriend and I were camping at the Elora Gorge this past weekend and wondered into town. We were recommended by a local clothing shop to check out The Cellar since the patio is awesome. We had a spinach and hummus dip and Thai curry. I have been to Thailand and the flavor was bang on. My girlfriend really liked that there were swans in the river. The waiter was very friendly and Talked us into sticky toffee pudding.... Which was very good! I will return here next time I'm in Elora.

Nothing good except the view. Waiter spent a long time discussing today's specials, but did not mention that a major item from the menu was actually not available until we tried to order it. We asked for a rare steak, but it was served raw as seen in the picture. Asked for a replacement, but the new steak was not better. There's no lock on the men's restroom, so people keep walking in on each other. The prices were really high, and in my view not justified. The only positive aspect to this restaurant was the outdoor patio, which has a good view of the river.

A nice and friendly place to have lunch or dinner. The staff are courteous and friendly. The menu is varied and all tastes fresh and flavourful! The presentation is also above average for this type of establishment! We definitely will be going back there again!
