Very good pho. The onion cakes are ok, but pho... damn awesome. Get the sour and spicy seafood pho, it’s really good! Quick and fast service too
Canada 🇨🇦 Day 2018 at Pho Ha & Hoa 🍜
The soup was so tasty and flavour from all those the beef bones that they cooked for hours and hours and the thin noodles was just right on the spot... Not too soft and broken like other Pho places that I ate in the past...
I called to this the real Vietnamese Pho just like the way we had back home in Vietnam...
I finally discovered the Real Authentic Pho spot .... Next time I in Edmonton I sure coming here for a delicious bowl of pho again 🍲.....😋
Overall food was superb delicious and service was awesome 👏🏼😎 for Pho place . The servers go extra miles for brought us extra platform for my little girl without asking and they even check on you if the food was ok or you need anything else.
Thank you Pho HH 🙏😊
If you want true authentic Vietnamese, fresh and abundant food, this is the only pho place in Edmonton, from all the places I have been so far anyway. Really, if you compare the price for the same dish, there is simply no comparison. From the few times I ordered take-out, the portion sizes were huge! The Thai basil are huge! I recall this is the place where the Thai basil leaf was as big as my hand. They are normally the size of 2 of your thumbs... This place deserves more recognition then it has I believe. I know not many people know about the place as the place is not packed each time I go (after 8PM anyway). I will say that each staff I met there were friendly to me. It could be that I am Vietnamese also, as I get a similar feeling at another "yellow" pho restaurant near by... ;D
Anyhow, give this place a try and judge for yourself. Then compare with another you go to often and come to your own conclusions. You would miss out if you did not give it at least one try! Cheers! :)
Ordered the hot and sour seafood soup. Portion was good with squid, shrimp and imitation crab. I was in a hurry the day I stopped in. Was served in a timely manner. Soup was very good, had a good portion packed up. Glad to have leftovers for later in the day. Will have to stop in to try pho.
I've been coming here regularly since they opened up. Staff has been great, very friendly and welcoming. I would actually say they have better service than the other place, but they also are generally less busy, so perhaps it isn't an entirely fair comparison.
I haven't had an issue with the portion sizes, they seem about as good as any other pho place I've been to.
I LOVE the skewered meat you get with the rice/noodle dishes. One of my favourite aspects of eating here. However, when I ordered the pork + shrimp, I only got 3 shrimp. Noticeably less than the amount of pork you get.
I usually order the Bun Bo Hue when I get soup, I like the zesty broth and combination of meats.
They also have stir fries, and I do like my veggies, so this is another bonus for me. I find most dishes at pho restaurants are light on veggies aside from maybe a slice of tomato or cucumber or whatever and shredded lettuce on the side. I've actually paid for extra veggies when ordering a soup because often it is just an afterthought, like two pieces of carrot.
There really isn't much for me to complain about. I can nitpick and say I prefer the other place's spring rolls, and the actual cook time seems a bit on the slow side (even when there is nobody there). However I feel like the value-to-quality in the food is so good, it makes it hard for me to eat anywhere else.
The icing on the cake for me though is that they actually remember me and acknowledge me as a regular. I dislike when I visit a restaurant on a regular basis, get greeted by the same people every time, but they act like they have never seen me before. Say something! "Welcome back! Good to see you again!". If I get a stone-faced look and a cold greeting after visiting dozens of times, I don't know what to say about that.
Friendly and clean. Just the right amount of spice in the number #34 Bun Bo Hue. Close to some stiff competition as mentioned in another review.I posted a picture of the soup half consumed. Notice the pasta which is larger or thicker then the average "Pho". Interesting.
This is a brand new, family run noodle house. It can be a little tricky to find because it is located in a strip mall that has buildings going in all directions. Google maps will get you close.
You are welcomed with a smile and shown to your seat. The menu has a nice variety to choose from with most of the traditionally popular types of Pho available. The menu is available online if you would like to browse before you go.
I love Pho but I am no expert. My favourite is satay, but I am not sure if that is traditional. Sadly, it is not on this menu. The Bun Bo Hue was just the right level of spicy and delicious. My husband had his "meatball soup" and his was great as well.
I have also been able to try the five color vermicelli. It was delicious. The spring roll and the shrimp were done perfectly.
The restaurant is nicely decorated and kept very clean. There is lots of free parking available.
It is a bit out of my way to get to, but nice enough that I will make the trip to go back for more!
You can tell that it's family owned. Cozy and warm feeling as soon as you enter the restaurant. The guy which I think is the owner is really nice and always with a smiley face. Customer service is A+ for sure. Food is great! I highly recommend the pork chops with eggs and rice, if you want something warm I highly recommend this place!
Really great service. :) the food was good as well, no complains really. I had steak & brisket pho and spring rolls. I do agree with another review made previously that the spring rolls didn't have much pork in them. I actually couldn't see or taste any at all. But i didn't mind that since I'm not a huge meat fan. Overall I would go back again as it was pleasant service and in my neighbourhood. :)
I came here two times. Once with a few friends and once with my family. Both times were pretty good experiences.
The appetizers that they give are really good. The pork salad rolls use grilled meat rather than just boiled pork belly. The pork spring rolls are loaded with meat and feel really satisfying to bite into.
The Pho is over-average. It's a lot better than most places in Edmonton. It just loses out to my mom's cooking ;)
The service is also really good. The staff wear really big smiles on their faces and are really on the ball when it comes to checking up on you and refilling water or taking dishes away.
Overall, I've had really good experiences here and will definitely come back again.
This place is AMAZING! Everything is cooked to perfection! Would definitely recommend coming to this place to everybody. The service and fast and excellent! Staff are all friendly and love talking with customers! The restaurant itself is quite spacious and plenty of booths to sit in!
Fantastic meal and great service! My parents and I went here recently for a birthday dinner and between us we had a variety of pho and vermicelli bowls. The serving sizes were fantastic and so were the flavours. Absolutely wonderful!
Have been here twice since it's been open - great experience both times. We were seated very promptly and served tea right away. There was a large party at the restaurant the first time I went (dinner time), so the food came out a bit slow. I went at lunch the second time and the food came out very quickly.
I ordered the steak/beef ball pho and wasn't disappointed. The beef balls weren't too hard and the steak was tender and delicious. I enjoyed the soup and my mom drank all of hers! The chicken wings we ordered were just okay (we only received drum sticks), but the green onion cakes were nicely fried. I'll definitely be back for the pho!
The other day I tried out this new little Vietnamese restaurant nestled in Namao centre, after having it recommended to me in fact, by my mother. Pho Ha & Hoa opened up in the north side of Edmonton only a few weeks ago, but I've already heard a few favorable opinions of the food by others that live nearby.
It's located right by the running room with plenty of parking options and is family-owned. (I'm not sure if I've mentioned it before, but I have a soft spot for family-owned businesses) I always like to try out a local spot and help them out, and also I find them generally more solicitous towards regular customers than say, big franchises.
In fact, there used to be another Vietnamese restaurant in the exact same location for years, called The Rice Pad, but I never liked it. Now the place has been completely changed, renovated and upgraded entirely, and I have to say that I am entirely pleased with the new restaurant. It is most definitely my favorite pho place in Namao now, easily surpassing Pho Hoan Pasteur that is located nearby, in service, quality of the food and overall atmosphere.
The food was all great; I very much enjoyed the appetizers and main entrées I was able to sample. I really liked their personal broth for the pho, it was lighter and refreshing, and there was generous portions of meat in each bowl. The green onion cake was quite good, and the spring rolls were very tasty. As for the prices, I found them to be very affordable and fair. For the portions, and what you get I think they were entirely reasonable. (I believe for 4 people: 2 adults and 2 children, the bill came to around $40)
The service was fantastic, which was mildly surprising as I do not expect much beyond the bare minimum from most asian restaurants. Everyone was very friendly, helpful, and efficient, and I enjoy how how the father takes the time to speak to the customers. A big plus in my books was the fact that the spring roll dish on the menu only says 3, but an extra one was courteously added to make 4. Since there was 4 people in my party I was extremely pleased about that, especially since I didn't even ask.
All in all, I highly recommend everyone in YEG to try out Pho Ha & Hoa, especially if you live in or near the north end. The food is great, the prices are very reasonable, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. It is a good spot for a quick bite by yourself, with friends, family or with your significant other.
Checked this place out as I needed a pho spot in the north end and was very happy I did. Friendly service, clean shop and bathrooms. Spring rolls were said to be 3 to an order and I was given 4 so bonus! They were piping hot and quite good. Ordered beef noodle soup with steak and brisket and again, very good! Tons of meat and a tasty broth. Decent value for what you get. I will be back.
Recently opened, I heard about Pho Ha & Hoa from a mutual friend who recommended I check it out. My friend and I got there around 12pm on a Sunday afternoon to a mostly empty restaurant, with the exception of a couple tables. Service was quick and attentive. Scanning the menu it seems like a fairly standard to slightly cheap place for pho and rice. I settled on the Grilled Chicken with Fried Egg and Spring Rolls with Rice, while my friend got their regular pho with steak, beef, tendon, and tripe. We also split their Shrimp Salad Rolls. The Shrimp Salad Rolls were 3 fairly large pieces for $4.50. Average - not the best but not the worst. My rice plate was HUGE. For the price ($10.75), it's remarkable how it probably could have fed two people. The chicken was a bit tough, but otherwise all the food was flavourful and in particular I enjoyed their spring roll. My friend commented that the pho bowl was filling even though she only got the regular sized.
All in all, this place was very affordable and considering the balance between quality and quantity that Pho Ha & Hoa seemed to have for my meal, it's hard not to see this as my go-to pho place when I'm in north Edmonton. Recommended.
