For the price, it is semi expensive. I had the Chicken Mendi as the Kabsa wasn't available but it is decently filling and their salsa is great! I feel like there could've been more soup. Chicken and rice was great, rice was a little drier but the taste and aroma is fantastic.
Tasty food , clean and great customer service
Highly recommend this to anyone wanting to try out middle Eastern food . The portion are big , soup is great and complementary
Amazing food. The rice is perfect. I have tried every dish and have never been disappointed. Very authentic flavors.
I place I recommend over and over and everyone thanks me for it.
Fairly good. Very authentic. We had a kabob platter and chicken mendi. Lamb was good, chicken was great. Perhaps a little small, but packed with flavour. I have never had chicken like that. The rice was my wife's favourite. Server was polite, but we could have used a refill on our waters. Overall great and we will be back.
Best chicken mendi served in Alberta, rice taste good too, had kabsa too but mendi is way better. Customer service is better, asked for extra rice and they didn't charge for it
Great food and great portions. I always have enough for lunch and supper :D
I just wish they kept it downtown. Now I have to drive all the way north to get me some Kabsa!
I finally got around to trying this place, and it was really great. Apparently the menu is a mix of Yemeni and Saudi food (with shawarma and poutine thrown in for good measure). It's a nice change from other Western Asia/Middle East cuisines (lebanese, persian, etc). I've tried the lamb mendi and the yemeni foul, and both were delicious. The foul was the surprise standout and possibly the best version of the dish I've had.
Delicious!. This place is great. The food is fresh and flavorful, and the staff is wonderful!
Their lamb is amazing and they take great care in their food.
Do not go if you are in a rush though, because this is not fast food. It is well prepared, and takes time to make.
I am always full and content after I eat here, because you get a really great size portion.
Delicious and affordable. This is the best place in Edmonton you can find the taste, quantity, and the cheap price. There is a variety of options but the best is the Mandi chicken
Very nice and quite fulfilling!. My wife and I ordered Lamb Kabsa and Cocktail Kebab, both dishes were perfectly cooked, lamb was tender and spices were great. when it comes to size, this place is VERY generous in portions. We couldn't finish the whole thing, and had to wrap the rest to go.
By all means, don't let the humble outside look of the store deceive you. This is a real hidden gem in the heart of Edmonton. I will certainly come back to try their Chicken Mendi and Lamb Henneith... so stay tuned for further reviews!

Incredible and delicious food.. I come from Toronto for visiting.
My friend took me to the kabsa.
We order the chicken kabsa and
Lamb haneeth. The food is perfect.
hopefully they open branch in Toronto.
EXTREMELY delicious basmati rice. I've eaten here twice and had the lamb kabsa and all I can say is that the lamb, if cooked the moment you order, is fragrant, moist and falling-off-the-bone tender that you don't even need your plastic knife to cut it; the plastic fork is sufficient! The flavourful basmati rice is beyond compare with just the absolute perfect blend of exotic spices. I will try the kabob on rice platter next time.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Cash only.
Great taste and you actually get FULL. Best Mendy lamb and chicken in town. Not the best style or service but people are friendly. And best of all, food is great and portions are unmatched anywhere around.
The food was delicious. We had the chicken shawarma and the donair. Large portions. Excellent customer service-the owner voluntarily honoured an expired groupon voucher without being asked!!!!! We'll definitely go back!!!!
Surprisingly good. This is a nice little "hole in the wall" kind of place. The surroundings are very unpretentious. The food comes on paper plates on red plastic trays, and water is served in styrofoam cups.
Outstanding taste to the lamb. The food is beautifully spiced. Add the red sauce if you want a bit of heat - terrific. All in all, it was a very tasty meal.
They are listed as gluten-friendly on Urban Spoon, but the cook didn't know what gluten was. However, they were very accommodating when we explained exactly what could and could not be in the food. I would describe them as unknowingly GFCF, given a little bit of guidance.
Overall, good job with the food. And they are very kid and large family friendly.
Solid good food. Awesome little place on Whyte Ave. The cuisine is from the Arabian peninsula, very different flavours from Lebanese food. They have a number of chicken, beef and lamb dishes.- all contain soft pita, garlicky sauce, plenty of fresh veggies and grilled/roasted meat in various combinations. All meals come with complimentary lentil soup. Perfect meal for a cold day!
Awesome food. I absolutely love this place! They serve big portions and their food is very tasty. I've been here many times now, last time I had their lamb dish which was very tender and tasty, and I'm not usually a big fan of lamb. Today I had their mendi chicken and it was excellent. Among the best things they make is their rice. From what I've noticed they have two different types which complement their meals well.
The place has a traditional Mediterranean look and is very clean. I come back every time I'm along Whyte Avenue, and sometimes even drive across the city to have it.
Good Food Good Place. I went there on Sunday with a friend of mine and I go there all the times the food is divine and I can't wait to go there again ... I love it and I can tell you that you will have the best food in your life.. I mean real food and so yummy. try the lamb Mendi or the lamb Hanith.. they also have good Chicken, Mendi and Rotisserie chicken tasty and tender. believe me you won't regret it. :)
