My first time Here Wow beautiful Decor greeted by very friend lie staff we booked this restaurant for my friends 40 birthday and it was incredible .. The food fresh hot quality I recommend the ladies to please order the Sahara passion drink yummy . Over all fantastic excellent experience thank you to all the staff for making this evening so memorable and the master chefs on site for the food . I stopped by Sahara Palace recently for a friend’s birthday. It’s a huge Lebanese restaurant located in Castledowns in the Northside. I wouldn’t have expected to find it there because it’s in a random strip mall area with a grocery store. I guess you can call it a hidden gem because the food was delicious! Their menu consists of soups and salads, hot and cold mezza (this means ‘small dishes’ in Middle Eastern cuisine), mashawi (grilled meats and vegetables), sandwiches, and main dishes.

I have a strange love for Mediterranean / Greek / Lebanese food. Seriously. Having tried Yiannis, Parkallen Restaurant, Koutouki Taverna, Al Salam Bakery, Chateau Beirut, and La Shish Taouk, I can say that this is the absolute BEST restaurant out of all of them. This is one of those restaurants where I just blindfold myself with the prices and just let the good times roll. We went with a big group and my Lebanese friend did the ordering. I was so pleasantly surprised by the hummus and baba ghanoush (eggplant hummus). Multi-dimensional flavour especially with the eggplant. It was garlicky and eggplanty at the same time. There was also a smoky taste to it. Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about but that's what it felt like to me. I loved it! The salad was also very fresh. Green crisps, light but flavourful dressing... It's a great dish to balance some of the heavier flavours that came up later in the course. The stuffed grape leaves were good too. The meat dishes was when I stopped taking pictures and I just fully indulged myself. The kibbeh, which I don't quite remember so much now, tasted good I'm sure. I just don't remember eating a bad dish here. Oh, last but not least, people were enjoying their shishas and that was probably the only thing that bothered me because I wasn't sure if it was exactly good for me or not. Yeah I am a wuss. Other than that, the service was quite good and the decor was elegant but casual at the same time. I can't wait to come back with a Lebanese friend or someone who knows how to order for me. :)
I have regular to Sahara for the last 10 months and have been never disappointed, the food is great and service getting always better, I love eating at this place, I will recommend them to all of my friends

Amazing beef kebabs & spicy chicken. The beef tartar and hummus are also superb!!! This is worth the drive to the northside for sure, if you don't want to sit in hookah bar there's a separate area, drinks are basic no premium liquor.
What a beautiful restaurant and such stunning friendly staff, Food is absolutely amazing!!! Tried the chicken liver and the fetteh for the first time today, so delicious you can definitely taste the love and attention they put in each and every single one of there dishes !
I just recently came in for the first time. They immediately asked us if we wanted a non Shisha section or Shisha section. We don't smoke Shisha so this was a great option for the non smokers. The server recommended a set menu which was 35$ a person. We were able to try a variety of food! This was a great menu option considering it's our first time trying Lebanese food. We will definitely be back :)
Hands down one of the best Mediterranean restaurant i've been to. I really enjoyed the selection of food items they have on the menu. Best tabouli and fattoush! Also, the Bil jibni is a great appetizer to start with. The service was also great!

Best experience I've had since moving to Edmonton. This place is so hype and their food is so delicious. I ordered a chicken shawarma sandwich on a SOJ bread. The best chicken I've ever tasted. I got to admit the service was also great. I highly recommend the server Mo. he made our experience comfortable and enticing.

Went to Sahara Palace last night with my friends for our weekly night out! My friend picked it out, and we we're amazed! , but we arrived around 6:30pm on a Thursday night and there we're plenty of tables available. By 7:30pm it was packed - so come early!
Our waitress was great and her service was impeccable! We started with some Sambousik with Meat as an appetizer: Bih Jibni and Fried Kibbeh . I highly suggest all 3 of them! And plenty of food for 4 of us.
For dinner I had Kabobs, which was cooked to perfection. The presentation was beautiful. The Kabob was so tender and juicy! The potato and veggies were great as well. No complaints here!
My friend had the Taouk , and I tried his. It was great as well! I would consider getting that next time.

Great food great service !!!. I was invited to a dinner party last week, it was my first experience there, the first thing that struck me was the absolutely stunning decor. We ordered the the set menu which allowed us to try a little bit of everything on the menu, this was the best Mediterranean food I think I have ever tried! Can't wait to go back again!

The restaurant over all has a high end design, Very friendly staff and when it came down to the food it was on another level.you can tell the food is freshly prepared and made with love. Most Authentic Medittearean in Edmonton. I have visited this establishment many times and have never been disappointed. The food is always cooked to perfection, comes out quickly after I order and is never cold, and the service is always top notch and professional. The shisha is the best edmonton has to offer and I always end up getting perfect smoke and it is never burnt. On weekends, the owners are always dressed up in suits, greeting customers and checking to see how they are doing. You can tell they really are invested in their business, and prioritize the customers having the best experience possible. My personal recommendations for shisha are double Apple and mint, and for food the Chicken Shawarma on sag bread is the best I have tried. Also try the tabouleh. Check this place out, it is worth a visit to the north side and you will not regret it :)

Amazing food. Big portions. Great service.. Been a regular at sahara for quite some time now. This is in my opinion by far the best Mediterranean food in Edmonton. Always fresh, always prepared well, always quick to arrive. The kitchen is always spotless. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Never had a problem with this place. 10/10

BEST EXPERIENCE IN EDMONTON IVE EVER HAD! We were invited by friends on a saturday night, despite the restaurnt being packed from wall to wall our service was top notch. I have a very good late open buffet. Amazing fresh late open buffet, I like it. different kind of food , I liked vegetarian salads and the atmosphere. Belly dancing is quite amazing.

Atmosphere ! Atmosphere ! Atmosphere. I would first like to start with a hats off standing ovation congratulating Sahara and its exceptional staff for making our Saturday night such a blast. My family and friends were visiting from Calgary and we wanted to enjoy a night out and that we did. My co-workers had told me good things about this place and referred it, so without any further ado we headed to Sahara. When we arrived I felt like I was back in a swanky Las Vegas restaurant the decor was phenomenal as was the service. The shisha was to my liking and the coal was not burnt, not like other places it was ready and delivered within the first 5 minutes of us sitting down Great job! shisha guys. I myself come from the middle east and know what the food is supposed to taste like i have ate at many different middle eastern cuisine restaurants here and abroad and 90 percent of them don't take the time to cook it right or use the correct spices and amount of spices or ingredients needed to make the traditional dishes. As far as food goes it was delicious and very tasty, the salads were fresh and one of the major hits on our table definitely will be back for the shawarma and samosas :) The atmosphere is amazing as was the live singer, a definite cherry on top of this cake. Great place to bring your family and enjoy a night out . ""Highly recommended""..

To those who complained, take a look around and find me another place that compares. I'm from Calgary and since Montreal, I have not come across an establishment like this. I would love to see a more diverse wine menu but other than that, it was a great night. Will definitely be back :)
First of all this place is the nicest resteraunt Ive seen. Very good atmosphere. Friendly staff. Would like to come on the weekend when there is live entertainment. Overall decent food best tabouleh in town hands down, not bad in price. I highly recommend this place.
We were treated like kings. I was in last Saturday with my wife to celebrate our anniversary. The staff at sahara treated us beyond our expectations. The manager ali? And waiter moe were very attentive and provided espediant, dedicated service for the entire visit. They both ensured our meals were just completely to our satisfaction, including bringing out a cake to help celebrate our evening. The sheesh taok was spectacular, infused with the right amount of garlic!! The level of service the staff displayed was impressive and personal. The food was fresh and superb. The tabouleh was a hit , as well as the homous and fattouch! Thanks guys for making this night a special one! I would definitely recommend this place and I will be a returning customer! Ohh the entertainment, live singer, was a special touch, even the singer gave us a shout out!
