Been going here for years.. Quick and cheap. Even seen the mayoral candidates eating here.. Just dont tell everyone about it cause seating is limited.. keep it our little secret...
Came here on a saturday afternoon craving for breakfast food. Their menu had breakfast and lunch - the prices were super affordable and love how it was a ma+pops type of place. I ordered the french toast with bacon that was about $9 while my girlfriend ordered the omelette that was about $11. A great hole in the wall located at the end of a busy strip mall.
The place looks cheap, like something you'd find in a small town. Normally if you're pampered that's an instant turn away. But look at the menu and they have not just great prices, but very large portion size as well. But what really amazed me is the place was booked solid, and yet they cooked and served our breakfast meals in less than 5 minutes.
Cheap and rustic, but if you don't mind that you'll find a place with terrific value. I'll be back.
Went here for breakfast Jan. 3, 2016. This place truly is a dive, like a whole in the wall. You walk in and the decor is all chinese stuff and you would never in a million years thought that this place would serve up good meals. Was I ever wrong! I didn't feel like making breakfast so I came here after reading some positive reviews. Yes the interior lacked style, but I am here for a good breakfast meal and not for the interior design. They serve up some good old breakfast style dishes. I ordered the deluxe breakfast and that was under $10! Cheap if you ask me. The owners are chinese and it looks like a husband and wife with their 2 children. Friendly, fast service and my food came out in about 5 minutes of placing my order. Definitely will be coming back when I am not in the mood for making my own breakfast.
This place is awesome. Awesome service, great prices and the food is ready in no time. If you're looking for a date place this isn't it...but if u want great food at a good price and your coffee mud always full...you will be happy.
Love this place . It's great for fast cheap food ! It's not fancy but it's fast . Everone has bad days but I always get good service! See ya at breakfast in 30 min :)
Great little place. The service is friendly and quick. The food comes out unsually fast but its just breakfast food. Good if youre in a hurry and dont want to cook. Great prices too! Its awesome seeing this place busy, they deserve it.

Upon reading the name and seeing the decent rating, I decided to give Whistling Kettle a try. Walking in was a bit of the shock. The menu is classic american breakast foods but the interior has asian decorations all over the wall. The front of the house, who I think must run the restaraunt, is a very cute old asian woman. The service here is extremely fast and the waitress (which there was only one, the old woman) was really nice and attentative despite the seven other tables also being served! They have tons of breakfast and lunch specials on whiteboards along the walls and if that doesn't interest you, there is a menu to choose from as well. The prices are all very cheap and food came out in a flash. The food wasn't any different from any home cooked breakfast you could make yourself but the portion is pretty great for the low price you pay. I wouldn't say Whistling Kettle has become my go-to but I would recommend this place if you're nearby and looking for a cheap, quick bite. I'm sure I'll be coming back again sometime.
I never would have walked in here was it not for urbanspoon. Quite surprised. Very fast service. Great breakfast. They could not give this place a facelift as it would up the prices and it, as well as the usual patrons, definitely has some caracter
Cheap and fast breakfast.. Service and minimal. She takes your order and brings your food.
Room needs a big scrub down but it's ok. Keep in mind that this is a budget dinner, you only get what you need, nothing else.
Portions are big for the price.
I stop in here when I'm to lazy to make breakfast but want fast hot meal that is NOT Timmies or McD's.
Eggs, bacon, hash and coffee for under 10 bucks. In and out in 15-20 mins.
Not bad, extremely fast service! I only had to wait 10 mins for my food, prices are very good. It's a bit weird that the menu is written on a whiteboard in the seating area

Love this place! Prices are right, foods done good, tastes good...other than the lack of seating on Saturday mornings...it's great.
Not bad. Prices are very cheap for the amount of food you get. The food itself is a hit and miss though in my opinion...I've been there a few times and I ordered a different item each time. I really liked their Hot Hamburger. For the other ones, it seems like they cook their food bland; you have to add salt yourself. I suppose this is okay for people who are watching their sodium intake. As for service - it was quick and the servers are friendly and nice.
I had the hot roast beef sandwich and poutine. They were both okay. Prices were excellent.
