If you want a place to go with great food, atmosphere and ambience, this is the place. Add to that the belly dancer which connects everyone and makes for a fun and entertaining place. Moe and Anna make you feel like family. A must place to visit
Came here for dinner and everything was AMAZING!! The service was on point, and the food was to die for. I tried the koutouki meze and I would Defs come back!
Amazing Food in a Beautiful Place in a Great Location! It is simply gorgeous in the restaurant and you are treated like kings and queens the second you walk through the door. The food is Unbelievable! A must go to experience!
Wonderful dinner, great service. Thank you MO and Ana. The Metz dinner was fabulous fresh and fantastic.
Fantastic food and great welcoming service, that will make you want to go back!
Atmosphere is authentic, the building doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside is really neat with the trailing plants along the ceiling. A little chilly inside, bring a sweater if you get cold easy.
Service was attentive and kind, Dasha was delightful. We tried the koutouki mini mezze and garides (prawns w garlic, lemon and wine). Never have we had such delicious santziki, tasty meatballs (keftedes), perfect spanokopita and even my mom liked the stuffed vine leaves. My grandma isn't adventurous with food, but she really enjoyed it all. The baklava finished off the meal nicely.
We left with leftovers and would all go back again!
Service is out incredible in this Greek restaurant. Thank you Nathan for being so attentive and polite. Truly appreciated. Dinner was calamari, and chicken souvlaki platters both cooked perfectly with authentic Greek flavors.
My wife and I have had the pleasure of indulging in this unique eatery on several occasions.
Decor is a little...rustic..but the food is simply amazing. Authentic, fresh, and flavourfull!
Service was good and prices were fair.
What more can I say!
We'll deffinitely be back!
This was a great take out Greek Meal Feast for a Friday night take out night! We ordered the Koutouki Mezze for $38 per person. It included all sort of great dishes! We started with Greek Salad, Calamari, and pita bread with four great dips!. Then we enjoyed some Keftedes, Dolmades and Spanakopita. It was all good except the Keftedes which they put cinnamon in! Why do they do that? It totally ruined the flavour.
We tried the mini Meze for 2 and it was excellent - a nice mix of items to try out and plenty of food for both of us. The setting itself is lovely too.
Best Service and Food in the city. Nikolai was amazing. I have never had that level of service before from anywhere. The food was top notch and cooked to perfection. The broiled Calamari is to die for.
The food is a bit on the pricey side but once you sit down to eat it is worth it. Everything was amazing. What sold us on this restaurant most of all was the service we got from Nicholas. He was so friendly, generous and accommodating. This is definitely a restaurant I will look forward to coming back to.
Amazing!. Everything was wonderful. It was truly a memorable evening.
Gem of a restaurant with a delicious slice of the Mediterranean!. Koutouki Taverna is an awesome experience, with great food, wonderful atmosphere and great service! I go there regularly for meeting, celebrations and larger parties. The waitstaff are extremely personable and helpful providing a great service experience. The food is hot, delicious and filling, with extremely generous portions. It is hard not to sample every dish on the menu! My favourites are the fried calamari, the bougatsa, and always the mezes. The great wine list is also a big welcome point! I definitely recommend Koutouki Taverna for anyone who wants to escape the every day Edmonton experience and slip away into Mediterranean bliss with enticing music, a vibrant and fun atmosphere, and hot and delicious Greek food. Will be back soon!
Great place.. I was at Koutouki Taverna with a group of friends and loved it! The meatballs were delicious, as was the lamb and the shrimp. Our waitress was great. I really like the decor and would recommend this place to my friends.
I was at koutouki 2 weeks ago with a friend who took me there. it was my first time there and i really enjoyed the food as there was more than enough! The dancers were amazing as they got the whole restaurant excited I could see other kids enjoying themselves! I especially loved the calamari and the saganaki I think it was called as they were delicious. i would definitely recommend it to others and I'll be back there for a birthday because I saw large groups there enjoying it.
OUTSTANDING.. Recently celebrated my birthday at Koutouki. Where do I start? Everything was amazing! Good atmosphere and friendly waiters, tasty fresh food...
big portions enough for everyone to people who say it's " expensive" in my opinion was defiantly worth it!. Unlike some other places where your plate is stuffed with fries .. ( that later gave me a stomach ache) for the same price, here you get shrimp veggies meat take your pick! I'd say it's great for families and big groups especially.Everyone who attended my birthday was happy and stuffed. I recommend this restaurant for people who eat healthy food. One of my favorite restaurants for sure.
Fantastic night out!. Was like being invited to a Greek wedding! The bellydancing, the waiter dancing a Tsamiko , ouzo free-flowing. The great staff even had the all the guests line-dancing out into the street and back!! Really one big party.
We had the Mezza and it was a scrumptious trip. I can't even name all the dishes they brought but not one of us was disappointed with any. I will mention specifically that the Calamari was like butter, the lamb was perfect and the greek salad was probably the best I've ever had.
Take note, when the menu tells you to enjoy Mezza "slowly, slowly" they mean it! Don't even try to finish all the dishes, take home what you can't eat, and save room to sample all the other delicious stuff to come.
LOVED IT!!!. I am a greek fanatic and this place clicked all my buttons, Mezze amazing, pita's amazing, lamb superb, great cheap wine and lovely staff. Very plastic decor but its so bad its great. I especially loved their aubergine. Great place.
Spread too thin. Koutouki was a wonderful restaurant when it had one location in Edmonton. As the years passed so did the quality. It still is the best place for Greek food and Retsina in town. It was even better 25 yeas ago when dining there seemed more exclusive. It was expensive but the value was there.
What a fantastic meal. I enjoyed it so much. Warm, friendly staff, delicious food. Cannot complain about a thing.
Delicious.. Expensive, but worth it. the food is amazing!
Great place to have a Greek party. We all love the Greek feast. Perfect for a bigger family dinner, done family style. Lots of food to enjoy and take your time over!
WONDERFUL FOOD!. I absolutely LOVE this restaurant. I went here with some of my girlfriends and the food was perfect. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and delicious. The serving staff was very friendly and it made me want to go back for more!
Decent food but way overpriced! We had a nice experience on a busy Friday night. Our waiter was friendly and efficient considering they were down two waiters. The music gets very loud when the belly dancer performs and makes it hard to have a conversation. Overall this is not a bad choice for Greek cuisine , but I just don't get the prices on the entrees
Yes the food is pricey, but I have never been disappointed with the quality of the food here.
The Best Thing I Ever Ate: Arni Kleftico. Koutouki Taverna's Arni Kleftico. ($34.00)
It's actually quite simple. Roast lamb with roasted Greek potatoes.
This will be the best lamb that you will find in Edmonton - maybe even ever. It'll also be the best potatoes. You've never tasted lamb like this - fall-off-the-bone tender - and just the perfect way to highlight this delicious meat. I think if any meat dish were to convince me not to turn to vegetarianism, this would be it. And the potatoes! I have no idea how they make them taste so good! They're infused with a lemony flavour that will cause you to dream of these. You want to experience this. I promise.
Fairly good, will go again.. Tapas style, which was a welcome change of pace. The chicken souvlaki was great, and the greek salad was very good as well. The dolmades were tasty but a bit dry, as were the meatballs, the lemon potatoes were also tasty but a bit chalky in texture. Everything was served with fresh basil and nice sauces. Overall, not bad. $40 for two people at dinner.
Expensive. We were invited to a birthday celebration at Koutouki. Since I've never been there I thought it would be a fun experience to try it out. However when I looked at the menu on-line the prices really surprised me. It didn't look like it should warrant such prices. This place is expensive so you need to be prepared for that before you arrive. Once you get past the prices, the rest is good news. The service was very good. The waiter even took the time to help us pick something out for our kids as they are very fussy eaters. He provided good advice on sizes and portions and allowed us to make good decisions. I ordered the Moussaka. it was probably the best Moussaka I've ever eaten. It was also a very sizable portion so nobody needs to leave here hungry. I tasted the lamb that another person in our group ordered. It was excellent. Actually everything was excellent. I do prefer to spend a little less on a meal but if price is not an issue, you should love this place.
Great for groups. I have not been since the new owners took over but man is this a fun place for large groups. We are always able to sit and enjoy ourselves for hours at this place. Good food and Vince is a top shelf server that is very engaged with his tables. I always suggest going with 6 or more people so you can sample more of the dishes that they have to offer ( its also more fun). I would also suggest that someone in y0our party have some experience with Greek food so order all of the right dishes to make your experience great.
Goodplace. After reading some of the comments I would suggest you recheck this place with the new owners that are doing everything they can to over come the past owners
Wow.... It is so right I'll say it again...the best Greek in town! Meze is worth every penny...plus you take home enough food for lunch and dinner the next day!
Yanni treats everyone like family. The belly dancing adds to an already unforgettable experience.
