Sooo gooood! Espresso reminded me of Florence Italy.
I ordered the beef satay noodle soup and the salad rolls and I was very happy with both. I have had salad rolls and beef satay soup at other places and these were by far the best I have had. I would definitely order from this restaurant again and would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to friends.
Great variety, including macarons! Reasonably priced, and spacious dining space. Delicious. Their vermicelli and pho are both good, although don't stand out. Still a decent lunch outing.
I've been here many times with my friend and I've had awesome service in spite of how busy it has been at noon hour on a work day. Food has been great every time i have gone. I did notice a comment about a "cafeteria style restaurant" when I am eating I focus on the food and service not the decor unless it's bad, and this location has fine furnishings. I really enjoy eating here in the summer since you can seat yourself outside.
[At taste of Edmonton] I decided to grab a lemon grass beef skewer from Hoang Long. I was lucky enough to get my order just as a fresh batch was ready, and plunged in before I had a chance to sit down. This was really a nice surprise, as it wasn't overcooked and had just a hint of pink in some spots. The flavours were spot on, the portion was decent and it was ridiculously juicy. Absolutely top-notch, and a testament to simple food being able to stand on its own merits. This cost me 4 tickets, and while on it's own, it's a bit much to pay for a skewer, I would certainly do it again, and would have indulged in another had I not been down to 3 tickets.
The submarines are amazing.
Had the pork shoulder kimchi soup which was one of the daily specials today, it was fantastic and a lot of food for $8

Casual, and homestyle. My husband and I ended up enjoying a wonderful 'date night' here tonight; we felt welcome after a weary Wednesday, to wonderful service, cuisine and evening-out. We ordered tom Yum soup, salad rolls (we selected chicken, a first); and the chicken meal. In spite of our arrival close to closing time, we received very warm and prompt service. Our drinks came immediately, and the H20 was concientiously refilled throughout our dining. It was very thoughtful to ask and account that all dishes be shared; our waitress laid the table accordingly (2 bowls, platters, silverware and chopsticks) The Tom-Yum is traditionally spicy, but as requested, was served most pleasantly mild - and generous. The chicken salad rolls were a bit rich for this diner's taste, but certainly satisfying. The chicken meal , with the splendid salad , was speldidly presented; cooked with braised teriyaki-Thai style ; not processed-tasting in any way.. towards the end of our meal, my husband noticed that there was a mini 'salad bar' of condiments - we indulged in fresh bean sprouts, basil and lime to top our platters. The space is huge with post-modern decor. Some music would be nice to offset the loud machines. Thank you , Hoang Long for taking care of us , and giving us this memorable 'date night'
Lots of gluten free options here! We ordered off the dinner menu which has more options than the lunch menu. We really enjoyed our food and thought the service was quick and efficient. We would return!
Decent but overpriced.. Couple of us from the office tried this spot. Both agree the food was good but overpriced for what we got. The rest of the menu looked overpriced for the items served. She grabbed a soup and I got a vermicelli bowl (I liked the sprink rolls). I've had better bowls for less money. Portion size was good. Wouldn't turn down another meal there but won't go again if I'm paying for it.

Great Casual Dinner on a chilly night. I actually came in for dinner the other night. My sister works downtown and recommended we go for dinner. It was not busy at all. I assume they get their business at peak lunch hours.
It was a bit of a cafeteria vibe, but still a nice place. I liked the bits of décor and self serve stations with extra basil and bean sprouts or sauces. I was pleasantly surprised by the extensive menu. I got some spring rolls to start. They came out piping hot and were delicious. The Thai Coconut Soup was perfect for a chilly night. It was such a huge portion though, I could not finish. I tried to drink as much of the yummy spicy broth as I could. They have a selection of deserts as well that looked amazing, but I was way too full. I would recommend this place for lunch or dinner. I think it is so empty because people don't realize it is open for dinner with drinks, and the lack of parking options nearby (but parking hasn't stopped The Common from keeping busy after 6pm).
Decent but pricey. Brand new place in DT just south of Jasper Ave. A branch of the well-known Hoang Long in West Ed Mall. Food is good and flavourful, servings are large but it is seriously overpriced (expect to pay 20-30% more than the competition). The service was a bit gruff/indifferent but maybe due to 'teething' issues, hopefully it will be sorted out soon.
Will visit again if in DT, but can't compare with the Vietnamese places in Chinatown/107 Ave.
Good Northern Viet Pho, Mediocore Vermicelli bowl. It’s an order and sit down type of restaurant which is ok when it comes to Asian places as you rarely see them after the food comes anyway. The decor is very nice and open. Love the big windows. Came here for lunch and had the northern Viet beef noodle soup with rare beef. Way better than the Pho at Doan’s I can tell you that much. Loved how they had the bean sprouts and basil out so you could have as much as you want. My friend had the vermicelli bowl and said the noodles were a bit overcooked and mushy but the meat and spring rolls were great. I will definitely be back to test out the sauté soup and the Central Viet beef noodle soup.
Mango Salad. Was so busy at lunch time on Friday that we lined up out the door. Had the mango salad which has a fruit dressing. Pretty good. Very fresh.
Beautfiul inside. Very good quality, fresh food. A nice addition to the area!
Delicious!! Delicious!!! What a wonderful surprise to stumble upon this restaurant. Fresh, flavourful and very pretty food. Fabulous green onion cakes. And the Thai salad is amazing along with the Vietnamese crepes !!!! Definitely coming back and definitely telling friends to come too.
Love this place! We were Prairie Noodle fans and Haong Long did not disappoint. We asked for and were given a number of delicious vegan options. Green Onion Cakes, Thai Salad, Steamed Gailan and Vietnamese Vegetarian Crepe - All highly recommended. Wonderful service!

I only discovered this place a month ago and I’ve eaten here 7 times now. Delivery is so fast and I came inside for takeout today and this place is so big and nice inside. They Bhan Mi’s are HEAVENLY. I’m so addicted. Wonton soup is nice too.
I ordered yesterday for takeout not knowing what to expect..The pictures don't say the whole story ,I mean I already ate half before thinking about taking pictures of the food .The pork belly was delicious ,together with beef that melts in your mouth , the veggies and the egg just compliment's it ! I can't wait to taste their Pho Dac Biet next time I stop by ! The guy behind the counter was friendly and the place looks very clean.Thank you for the pleasant surprise!
Excellent food, polite service - what more can you want from a lunch place. Always happy to support these guys - usually go with the lemongrass chicken on rice with extra chicken and I can usually get two meals out of that.
