Great location; always top notch service. We were there just for dessert and drinks- it was perfect!
Our family went to the 23 Ave location on Friday '17Feb10 ~ Nice place! Great service/Friendly/Helpful! Incredible mozza balls (appie) and pizzas! Will be visiting again. Thank you to the staff!
Our experience was amazing:) From the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted, seated, and had a server at our table in the first 5 min. The servers were friendly and efficient, and the food was amazing! We would recommend them to everyone!
This is our favourite Famoso in Edmonton. They have great customer service, and great food.
Best pizza ever! Love the variety, love the table service and love the wine list. Wish there were more booths though...
Fantastic place! Definitely my favourite location. Food, atmosphere, and staff are all amazing! The owner of this location is great.
Yummy! We had a lot of fun. It was a birthday party.
Amazing Service, fresh food fast, great atmosphere, 5 stars!
Lunch today, September 2, 2014, was spot-on. Half-pizza and a salad was just the right amount, and the food was so tasty! Staff pleasant. My dining partner loved the tiramisu - I'll have it another time!
I've been driving by this place a few times now and we finally went 2 wks ago. The wood - fire pizzas, and Polpette AL Forno was awesome. Like the atmosphere is great. I'm not sure if there something wrong with our server that day, but one of the cup she gave us had lipstick stain and she disappeared in mid service. She then left with her jacket/etc when we were 3/4 done our meal. She seems like a nice girl. The boy that took over afterwards was kinda awkward and didn't say anything about he's taking over etc... I dunno. Being in the food & beverage industry, I don't think they handled whatever that's going on very well that day. More training is needed for staff... reason why I am not giving this place a 4.5. Overall, everything else was great, even the service was good. Would Def recommend this place.
Stop one tonight. Appy's of tomato bisque and salads. One Gorgonzola and walnut one Caesar with prosciutto bacon. Soup is full of flavor and dressed perfectly. Gorgonzola salad has large pieces of cheese, half walnuts, and crisp greens. Service was great tonight. Chatty, personable, and fast with our appy's and drinks. Thanks for a great start to our night.
One of the best "healthy" pizza places in the city. A bit pricy for what u get but good overall theme and concept. And tons of locations too

+4.5
Great pizzas with thin and crispy crusts. The variety of toppings will please all kinds of tastes. You can try all of them and enjoy each one. Service is great with friendly staff.
Will definitely come back for more!
Perfection. Best location in town, always delivers an excellent experience and wonderful pizza. Staff is very friendly and looks after you without being in your face. Looking forward to next time.
Top notch Pizza. Probably one of the best Famoso pizza's I've had in Edmonton, I found this location to be better than the other ones I've been to. The food just seemed to taste better, and service (which wasn't expected since it's a order/sit down place) was great! The pizzetta and soup combo I had was fresh and didn't take long to make. The environment in the restaurant seemed more cozy than crammed, unlike the one on Whyte Ave which I find to be crammed to fit the most amount of people into it. Loved the Famoso at this location, and would be willing to go slightly out of the way just for it.
I don't even eat other pizza anymore because I would end up comparing it to FAMOSO. The staff is awesome, the food arrives quickly even when the place is full and it is always great. Love the FAMOSO and Napoli salads and the soup is so good I have tried to make it aT home with no success. If they ever take the cavoletti away again I will start a mutiny. So lucky this is in my neighborhood
The dough sucks, but everything else is over-the-top good, so why not let the bygones be bygones.... The service.
At this location.
Is simply breath-taking.
How can the service at an order & seat-down place be better than any restaurant that I've been to in a very long time. I'm talking from fast food to fine dining to all walks of life. Crazy!
I liked the food here. I compare to what I ate in Rome and what I eat in Edmonton & Calgary. Top notch I'd say. It didn't taste like fast food but more restaurant quality than anything in terms of freshness, presentation, and temperature. The dough really needs improvement but maybe it's just something healthy and you have to suck it up. This ain't no pizza hut lard dough or even papa john's dough that is soft. This is proprietary famoso dough that is neither greasy, tasty, nor soft.
I used to be a famoso-hater but this visit changed my view 180 degrees.
Great Pizza. Well I have been to this location twice and just realized they opened one up on the west, just outside of west Edmonton mall which is closer to me, I actually find the west ed lecation much nicer with the brick building and just felt more cozy inside,
as for their pizza these guys are so consistent with quality, every time its perfect and taste great, truly one of the best pizza I ever had and im a picky guy I never say greatest pizza if I didn't like it, I have always liked deep dish pizzas but always felt awful after eating it, this one here I eat the whole thing and I feel nice and light after and great tasting at the same time, even my wife now makes me go there and reminds of it when we crave pizza...service is also great except the set up is kinda weird at first as in going inside, seating yourself first, then you get up and place an order yourself then sit down and wait for your pizza, then not sure if you have to wait for the bill but I have always got up and paid at the counter ( I think that's how you do it) but I really don't mind, you will get used to this kinda set up ( I actually like it better than full service) and the waitresses always coming around asking you if you need anything, great great service and food, if you have not been there then you should try it.
Always good. I have been here many times, it's always very good.
After all the hype I guess I was expecting more? Pizza was soggy and all the toppings fell off. Also I was expecting fresh toppings and I'm pretty sure the olives were exactly the same as the sliced ones I have at home from Sobeys. We also had the tapenade trio, two of which were great and one was inedible. Again the pita chip bread that came with it felt stale and nothing special. I can't say I disliked the food but after two try's I can't say it's anywhere near the hype it has. There's better pizza out there for less.
Very Disappointing. We have visited this location several times, it has never been as good as the original location. The pizza crust was overcooked and blackened, the arugula was not fresh.
We are increasingly concerned that the more they expand, the quality dimishes. We have also been to the St Albert and South Common locations - mediocre at best.
Too bad as they have a great idea, don't foresee these places lasting long.
Nice little spot for a glass if wine and a pizza. Atmosphere is welcoming with a view of pizza chef hard at work. They have a wineclub that is an added bonus. I ordered the margherita pizza. Looked and tasted good but a little too shy on the basilfor my tastes, a total of 5 small leaves. Service is quick and friendly. I will visit again on Wednesday for wine tastings.
I enter the medium sized dark resturant with high hopes and famoso really delivered. I tried the spicy Thai and it was not so spicy but sweet,it had a heavy taste of peanut as well (though I think the carrots were to blame for the sweetness). I still loved it and at the end me and my entire family came out very full and pleased, but still hungry for more.
FAST takeaway. It's Friday, nobody wanted to cook.
"wadda you feel like?"
"I dunno, wadda you feel like?"
"I dunno. Pizza?"
"I wonder if Famoso will do a takeaway."
I call them up, of course they will, and it will only take 10 minutes. It took 10 minutes to get there, and it was ready to go and delicious as usual.
Highly recommended for "those" nights.
It's a little pricy so I don't eat here often, but when I do I'm never disappointed. Excellent pizza, great tasting, fresh ingredients, they make a great ceasar salad too.
Had the Vesuvio pizza which was good, but...
They have nutella gelato!!! That was SO good.... I've also tried the mint chocolate and peanut butter chocolate flavours. So far, the nutella gelato is the best :)
Insanely Good. The food is that good. Totally agree with the other comment. Does not compare to other "standard" pizzas. Dough and sauce is magical. Ingredients are amazing and you do not feel like taking passing out after eating there from the grease factor.
Salads are amazing.
Sandwiches are great I just wish they had more than the two on the menu.
You can take it home but yes the pizza should be eaten fresh otherwise you lose out.
Our favorites
Vesuvio, Siciliana and Spicy Thai. So very very good.
Our Go-To local pizzeria. This is our favourite thin crust pizza next to Pulcinella's in Kensington, Calgary. Please don't compare it to your standard pizza found around town. This pizza is best eaten IN rather than take-home as it needs to be eaten fresh. - but it can be done Our faves are the Vesuvio (spicy hot!) and the Prosciutto Arugula (don't forget to squeeze the lemon over top as this really elevates the experience!) The crust is delicious on its own and the simplicity of the tomato sauce is divine. The Gorgonzola walnut salad with dried cranberries is magical when you get all elements on the fork at the same time! Wine by the glass come in 5oz or 9oz with a good selection and reasonably is priced. Atmosphere is clean and modern with dark colours but family friendly.
They have great thin crust pizza. I go there all the time and we even got a fifty $ gift certificite for customer day that they gave us
Great Pizza. The pizzas are fresh. Love the crust. Decent value. Visit here several times and I've never been disappointed. The service is fast and friendly. I would recommend Famoso to anyone.
Justin Rules!. Great Pizza. Vesuvio is to die for (but it is spicy!) Finishing with a Nuttela Pizza is the iceing on the cake! Casual atmosphere is great...order at the till, take a seat and enjoy! I think it keeps the price down (I'm cheap)!
You will definitely be impressed with the food!
This is my favorite place in the city! The staff is friendly and the food is great. It's an awesome place to take your friends or family out to. I definetly recomend it.
I love this place! I highly recommend pizzas #2, 9, and 10!
Finally a Naples style pizza! My only complaint is that they are so cheap with the basil! I want big basil leaves in mine. If you like a simple pizza, you will like this place.
Don't go in expecting to get regular thick dough pizza, this stuff is thin crust with fabulous choices for toppings. I had the pad Thai pizza and I have nothing pad to say about it
The food was very well prepared and tasted wonderful. The staff were friendly and helpfull. Ordering was really bad as you have to stand in a slow moving line rather than someone taking your order.
Caputo ‘00′ flour from Italy, tomatoes from the Campania region of Southern Italy, fior-di-latte mozzarella ,fresh herbs, and 900F – does make for very good pizza. The ‘Famoso Story’ tells of their training with the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana bu
