Review Kabuki Sushi & Grill - Edmonton

Timothy Goodkey
We were craving sushi and it was about 8:45. There weren’t a lot of options but noticed this location has extended hours so we gave it a shot. When we got there we quickly decided on Gyoza, spring rolls and dragon eye rolls to start. They were tasty! Could have come with more wasabi. Ended up getting several different orders of rolls. The baked salmon roll was the best. Overall cool little place to grab some sushi.

If you have one night at Edmonton and it is not a Tuesday, come and take a Unagi Don at Kabuki (ask for a spoon for an even better experience). You won’t regret it! I have been travelling around the world, but can never forget the taste of Unagi here. Strongly recommend! ——Customer since 2015.

Always great food for a reasonable price. Open later than any other sushi location for dine in. Perfect for a late spontaneous night out. Highly recommend the blazing unagi.

I live a block away, and have come here about once a week for over four years. I always get the spicy salmon roll (with avocado), three spicy salmon nigiri and a mini dumplings. It's always phenomenal. I've never ordered anything else. Close by in Garneau, open late, can't miss and family run.

The appetizer came near the end of the meal but that's about the worst of it. Totally worth the visit! Beautiful rolls, friendly service, dancing bonito flakes on my beef yaki, and probably the best miso soup I can remember having!

I’m here to refute the claim that there are rice noodles in their rolls. We came in on a Wednesday night because there weren’t many places open past 11 pm. My husband and I were a little hesitant after reading all these horrible reviews. First and foremost, the miso soup included with the meal was not only free, but also carried a lot flavour. I would’ve preferred it scalding hot, but it was still enjoyable none the less. The salmon sashimi was sooo good. It’s the one thing we consistently order at sushi restaurants and it was not only a decent price, it was a decent portion. The chicken karaage we could’ve done without. Then we had the crazy boy rolls. They did appear to have some string-like ingredients, but honestly it must’ve been a form of imitation crabmeat because it sure tasted like it. It also didn’t have the same texture as rice noodles (Have you ever had fresh noodles? It was truly not the same.). Anyway, it would be a lot of work to use rice noodles to stuff rolls. Why not just use more rice? Lastly, service was really good and the food came out quickly. Try this place out for yourself like we did. I would come back for the sashimi. Edit: Some other reviewer suggested that I was paid to write this review. That would’ve been great, but nope, didn’t get paid. Also, I haven’t been back, but I would be interested in trying this place again and do a better inspection of the “rice noodles” in the rolls.

This is NOT sushi. I've never seen someone so cheap use RICE NOODLES as filler?? Sushi is expensive and I paid 50$ for phoney filler rolls. Back to Mikado I go.
