Overall I would definitely come back to this restaurant. While on the higher price for sushi, their high quality dishes deserve the extra penny and everything was very delicious The staff are friendly, service is quick, and the atmosphere is nice despite the restaurant still having to abide by covid seating and code (slightly effects the ambiance and atmosphere) I would definitely order the lobster udon again and share it with another person (as it is quite large and very rich). Overall one of the best Japanese restaurants you will find in Edmonton

High quality sushi with a lot of variety. We got the salmon pressed sushi, the love crunch, godzilla, and the new style rolls. They were all made very carefully and tasted delicious. We also ordered the brussel sprout fry which was a great veggie dish to pair with the meat/rice-heavy sushi. They have a complimentary spinach salad that comes with each order that was very fresh. The washrooms are clean and have warm seats and bidets with warm water! Very cool feature. It is moreso on the expensive side, but the quality comes through 100% :)

The best quality at a good price, the service is great and the food is the reason I keep coming back. They provide the best lunch bentos at a good price that won't break the bank. A must go if you have a special some one to take and enjoy high quality fish.

My mom had never been to Japonais Bistro before, so I decided to take her here for lunch today. We both ordered the "Make your own Bento." Although the food preparation took longer than expected, we were happy with our meals when they did arrive. (The server explained there was a delay due to a takeout order.) There was a decent selection of items for each box in the bento and the portions were fairly large - I even had some leftovers for dinner. If you want the best bang for your buck, the "Make your own" is an excellent choice for lunch.

Japonais Bistro was a pretty good experience! The robata bento was good, loved all the grilled food on it, my only complaint is that I was hoping for more food for the price I was paying for. The assorted chef’s choice sashimi plates was my favourite dish that I ate! The fish tasted fresh, and it was also a unique experience because I never had octopus and squid sashimi! Finally for dessert, the matcha creme brulee was the perfect way to end of the meal, it was sweet, but not too overpowering! My complaint about the matcha creme brulee is I also wished for more for the price I was paying for. All in all, I think I’d come back to Japonais Bistro for sure!

Stopped in just as they opened for an early dinner. The service was fast and consistent the entire meal. We got the waygu tataki, assorted tempura, assorted sashimi, pressed salmon and a crunch roll. The sashimi was very fresh and delicious. All the other dishes came fast and tasted great. Definitely will be coming back here again to try more of thr menu!

Delicious and Fresh. Bluefin Toro was melt in your mouth. King Salmon was buttery smooth. Pressed Salmon mayo sauce was exceptional. We Ordered seconds on the Creamy Lobster Udon… sauce was that flavourful. Stephen our waiter was great service. Will be back.
