The food here is amazing! I recommend the fried rice cakes and seafood pancake. It has a clean and friendly atmosphere. Great location on Whyte to grab some food and head to a pub after.
Everything you've heard is true! Exceptional food and service all under one roof! Just wonderful! We gorged ourselves on 5 items, wanting everything!
We also found that despite the parking pass, we had our car towed. BUT! The owner himself, sorted it out AND a drove us to the lot. In about half an hour everything was sorted out and we were on our way! This was the toe company's fault, not NongBu's. We couldn't believe EVERYTHING that happened tonight! Great food, great service, amazing drinks! We will back again and again. It is SO rare to find incredible food and service in one restaurant. This is one of three places I have found in Edmonton.
Amazing food and amazing staffs . Thank you so much for the experience. Will come back definitely.
Me and my family enjoyed the porc and lettuce wrap.
We enjoyed the food and the hospitality of the staff.
Fantastic Korean street food with a western twist! The BEST seafood pancake of all Korean restaurants in Edmonton !
All of the menu items are so good. Just get everything it's so good.
Amazing. Food is always good. Best wraps in the city!!
Nice foods and customer service! Best Korean restaurant I have ever been in Canada!
The food is amazing and the service is impeccable !
Pure and fresh. Always fully satisfied. Authentic and tasty.
Everything is tight. Simpree amayjing.
Simply amazing. I am definitely coming back for more. :)
Seafood pancake was very crispy though 파가 너무 많아요… Butter Bulgogi Deopbap was delicious because the beef and butter created a great combination. Servers were very nice and we had more 반찬 (kimchi and Daikon can be refilled). Worth a try!
Probably the best place to eat on Whyte. The kimbap is sublime, bulgogi is delicious (you must get the ssam with it). They have a mushroom japchae that is really tasty too (and vegetarian). Also, ask for tea, I don’t know what the tea is but it is the best tea and I haven’t found it anywhere else.
Ramen cheese pancake is interesting, I don’t see any ramen though. Beef bulgogi is good. Next time I would like to try other dishes.
Been trying to find a decent korean place to eat. Can't say I've found a place that I love. The food was ok. But let me tell you, the price you're paying for is not really for the food bit mainly for the atmosphere and perhaps the location. Korean food isn't usually this expensive but this place was quite so. That being said, the food was fine but I also found that their selection is quite limited and lacks the more traditional korean stews and soups and such. Overall, it was ok? Not sure if I'll go back
Seafood pancake was crispy, pork bone stew had good flavors. Kids loved the honey butter rice cake. They let us know they were busy and food would take longer but it didn't even take long.
My husband and I have frequented many Korean restaurants in Edmonton over the last 28 years, and have seen many come and go. Recently we were looking for a new place to try, and found NongBu. On Friday February 18th we went for supper at around 7:15 pm. I wish we'd asked the waiter's name, so I could give him kudos. He was amazing, from the moment I called for a reservation to the moment we left. He was respectful, pleasant, funny and anticipated all of our needs! He is one of the best serving staff I have had in a long time! Great customer service is the cornerstone of any business however, without a good product it doesn't matter how good the service level is. In NongBu's case, they have it all! The food was incredible! I've read reviews where people said it was expensive. We didn't find it overly expensive, but even if the dishes cost a little more compared to other restaurants (maybe by a couple of dollars), that extra expense is more than adequately reflected in the quality and quantity of the dishes! The food was divine! In addition, you don't have to ask for extra sides, they bring you tea and refill regularly, and he even brought us a dish of Honey Butter DdukBboKki to try! YUM! NongBu has quickly become our favorite Korean restaurant and we can't wait to go back!
Went for dinner on Saturday night. There was an old movie projected on one wall and some hip hop music playing. Parked on the street but inside there was a place to register your license plate so there's parking probably closer to the restaurant.
We got seated immediately and our party of 4 ordered dishes to share: bulgogi, seafood pajeon, ojingo Bokum (spicy squid stir fry), honey butter dokkbokki, and japchae. Our friends had never eaten korean food before and they were blown away- everything was delicious but they especially loved the squid and the dokkbokki. The banchan was good - kimchi tasted perfect and there was daikon (pickled radish) as well. We also ordered yogurt soju, which I was expecting to be a cocktail of korean yogurt, soju and sprite but instead got a bottle of soju that was yogurt flavored- still good and cute to share.
The service was awesome, our server was gracious and super helpful. The bill was very reasonable, considering how much we ordered. I am already planning my trip back!!
