Standard olive garden chain restaurant. Decent food and service, breadsticks were slow, and our server had 4 tables sat in her section in 15 - 20 minutes, so she went as fast as she could. Wasn't impressed that the marinara dipping sauce was $4.99 and wasn't told up front, but the soup and salad were decent.
My little guy really liked his spaghetti, and the stickers kept him busier than coloring alone.
My family and I come here several times a year and although we pretty much order the same thing most of the time, we've never had a bad meal or bad service ever. I guess it depends on your expectation. If you expect fine dining, rustic Italian experience then you're in the wrong place.
Enjoyed a regular "go to" place for lunch today. This has become a yearly tradition to celebrate two friends' birthdays. We always look at the menu but we always end up with the same thing - the soup, salad and breadsticks lunch. It's about the best value you can find in the city. All you can eat and it's delicious. I have the Toscano Soup which I just love. I found a copycat recipe online that I have made several times before which is pretty close but you can actually purchase six or twelve servings to go for a very reasonable price so I found that it wasn't worth the time and effort - I freeze them and take them for lunch - it's great. It's a delicious slightly creamy soup with sausage, potato and kale.
Much better since the reno. Still nothing much on the menu for folk that have dairy problems. Fresh and fast tonight. Soup salad and breadsticks is still the deal. The rest is a bit expensive.
Old dependable. We come here 2 or 3 time a year for the past 10+ years.
Despite all the horror stories below, we have never have a terrible meal here, sure some mix up once in while but that happens any where.
It an Olive Garden, don't expect anything fancy and you won't be disappointed. :)
Always Satisfying!. We've been coming to this location for years and years (20+). Whenever relatives would come in from out of town, this would be our go to place. In all the times we have eaten here, we've never had a bad meal,...it's always consistently good! Well, this may be westernized/Canadianized Italian food, but it's what we like and it tastes good! We went this last Friday and the lunch menu was up. Where else can you get a chicken parmigiana sandwich, a full salad (enough to feed 3 people),....and unlimited on top of that, and breadsticks, all for $9.99! On top of all of that we had a wonderful waitress who indicated she was just training, but did a great job. In the end, when we went to pay, the debit machine did something funky so none of us knew if the payment went through. We offered to go to our bank and check and come back to pay it if it didn't go through. When we checked at our bank it didn't go through so we went back to the restaurant to make our payment. The manager went to his computer and was working something out there and then came to us and told us the meal was on them! Totally unexpected and very considerate of them to do such a thing!! We're very grateful and will continue to dine here as often as we can.
Mine and my gf's opinions. GF: LOVE the moscatto wine. service was always pretty good. fettucini alfredo was tasty. those little chocolates at the end were delicious. the drinks with the fruit in it were super yummy as well. :) one of my fav restaurants!
ME: disappointed they wont let me order water and eat breadsticks all night.
First off I LOVE Italian cuisine, its my favorite. I will start by saying some of my favorite restaurants in Edmonton are Picolinnos, Nellos and Allegro. Yes the quality and authenticity of Olive Garden is not the same. That being said I have never had a bad meal here. If you go into it without any comparison to the very authentic Italian restaurants you are left with tasty food. I always get the tour of Italy and as much salad and bread sticks as I can take in!
Yummy pasta!. Food was really good. Good service ! I cant remember the name of our server but I think it's robyn or jordyn. Busy place by dinner time. Overall it was good :)
Great food but if you have a party larger than 6 you can expect a very long wait time!
O.K. Value for the money. Did not have a reservation on a Thursday night. I was alone and was able to eat the bar. More main dishes between $ 15 - $ 20 all main dishes include a salad. Service was acceptable considering that they were very busy. What is usually a good sign anyway.
I like The Olive Garden. There is a reason that large chains become so large, the food is usually pretty good. I know a lot of people will rip on the authenticity of a large chain but I have tried a couple small local Italian restaurants and have been only disappointed by what they offer. So I'll stick to The Olive Garden.
I have been to this location a few times in the last couple months and always for take out, just a nice fast way to order dinner after being at work all day. Every time I have gone to this location it has been packed and busy, which is good for a restaurant but can be annoying if you weren't expecting to have to wait or deal with servers who are over worked.
I really like their lasagna, its delicious. Their stuffed mushrooms are good, though personally I don't care for clams. The food is great and the prices are good.
Food was awesome. salad was awesome. service was even more awesome.
Worth the drive.... A seven hour drive just so we can eat at the Olive Garden west? You bet! Do not count the calories, just sit back and let your tastebuds do the talking with the shrimp scampi, with its huge prawns and delicious airy sauce with rounds of bread for dipping, topped with sliced black olives, green onions and diced tomatoes. The salad is fragnant and filled with fun things like whole peppers and crunchy croutons. For an entree, the salmon is absolutely divine, a lovely thick cut of wild salmon accompanied by a melange of veggies, mmmm. My son likes to fill up on the breadsticks and eat the spaghetti. One of the great things is that, yes you have a long wait, but you can sit in the bar and order some wine while your child gets a pop and munch out on the free appies that they will bring around if the wait is longer than anticipated. It is a great evening and the belt gets tight, but as a yearly mecca, we always had fond memories of our experiences here...
I love Olive Garden! Please build one in Regina!. I love this place! The House Salad is to die for!
I thought the food was great, I love the bread sticks, and I always walk away full. There birthday songs get annoying fast. The service is as good as the next place.
Had a great experience and the waiter was great. Meals come with an order of soup or salad and bread sticks. We ordered the create your own pasta and chicken scampi. From the kids menu a pepperoni pizza. Our bill was $64 with 2 pop and an apple juice. Portions were a great bang for the buck. Happy to eat leftovers!!
So happy I ate at the Olive Garden in Edmonton! I'm visiting from Toronto and I always eat it when I'm in the USA. Had no idea they had a location in Canada. The food was good but the service was better. MJ was the best server! We never had to ask him for anything because he was always paying attention to his tables. Definitely my go to place when I'm craving for some pasta. Thanks for a great dinner!
We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. With Olive Garden you get the consistency of the food, which is exceptional. But our server experience really made this meal memorable. Diego was fun and personable and ensured our meal and experience was awesome. This will definitely be a stopping place when we come back due to the food and the service.
Mediocre service for drinks, check-ins, and final cheque for how empty the restaurant was (maybe 1/3 full).
Great food and wait times not too long.
Went here as a large group for dinner. We made a reservation and had great service. The food was good and the staff were kind. We will be back again!
