Review Kb&co - Edmonton

Such a great vegan experience!! Food was delicious and fresh, mint matcha latte was so delightful to have as my first coffee of the day! Definitely big fan of the avocado toast, will try some nachos next time when I’m there. Place is clean and not too crowded, nice comfy vibe for a weekend brunch.

The Avocado Toast changed my life! I haven't been able to stop thinking about it! Incredible atmosphere, hospitable staff, clean, trendy, and EXTREMELY tasty :) Will definitely be back soon!

Sherwood Park location: The owner here is rude, arrogant and highly lacking empathy and compassion towards others. You can also really see this by her responses to other customers reviews. Would not recommend or support simply because of the owner's poor attitude. Ending a response to a review with "I have no desire to make this one right" is beyond unprofessional and turns me off ever returning again completely

The best breakfast/brunch/lunch/cafe! You don’t need to be vegan or vegetarian to appreciate their menu. The oat waffles are amaaaazing! Any time I come to town I make a point to stop in. My only complaint is they don’t have a location where I’m from:)

The strawberry avocado toast and coconut sandwich are so delicious!

I was a little skeptical about the plant based menu, you know, no meat, no dairy, no eggs and no soy. You know what I did not miss any of that, my chilli sloppy joe sandwich was awesome and then I had this 2 cookie sandwich with cream cheese in between, again awesome. I loved my selection and will return again and try something different. The staff is friendly and courteous. The restaurant is clean and well lit. Just a great experience.

Went to KB&co today. I am not vegan but trying to do better for the environment so thought I would try. I got the balsamic Berry Avocado toast and a coconut latte and both where delicious. I was so impressed by the taste of the avocado toast. The staff wheee also very friendly and made me feel very welcome. The reason I didn’t give 5 stars as the portion was a a bit small for the price, $7+, but overall really liked my experience.

After today's visit, I would recommend this place if you have all the time in the world to be patient with the staff and not in a hurry. Food is nice and fresh but it's not worth the trouble for me. (I had to remove my previous review that I posted back in December)

This is my favorite lunch place. My go to is the chilli bowl, only $8 and it fills you up. I have had their nori glory salad and if you love sushi this is for you. I'm not a vegan and I love this place.

If you’re looking for a quick review-skip this place and check out one of the fabulous near by locations that also serve vegan food (blue plate diner, mayday dogs etc).

I’ll start by reviewing the food. As a vegetarian myself I would stray away. Far too over priced, and frankly bland. The avocado toast goes for $8 but is absolutely drenched in vinegar marinade. Their salads run for more and the dressings jut aren’t good enough. As someone who does eat plant based regularly this is a poor representation of the possibilities of vegetables. Their desserts are okay, once again wayyyy over priced.

As for atmosphere expect to be surrounded with blaring trashy pop music circa 2012. It just doesn’t work.

“Casual, conscious eats”. What does that say to you? Perhaps does it allude to some aspect of sustainability? At the very least some plant conscious decisions? Well look no further. This place packs EVERYTHING to go. In wax/cardboard containers with plastic cutlery. Even if you’re staying you cannot have a plate. This completely disappoints me. And even if I wanted to recycle the lid or the sleeve of the coffee cup (which don’t waste you’re money on- credo down the street is FAR better) you can’t! This is absolutely ridiculous and a shame for a business branding itself as a “green” “plant based” business. Swallow the pill. Pay for plates and stop creating garbage.

I'm not really sure why this place has been getting unfavourable reviews, but I suspect it's from people who don't normally eat plant-based and are attempting to compare KB & co's food to the non-vegan options they know and love.

As a vegetarian who tries to make vegan options often, KB & co has been a godsend for me to have access to quick and delicious plant-based foods. Yes, I will admit that the prices are high, and this is why I factored that into my rating ($9 is just too much for a smoothie in my mind). But quality ingredients don't come cheap, and that is why I continue to go.

I brought my vegan sister and she has since been raving about it. The flavours they are able to achieve in dishes like their coconut BLT and sloppy joes/chilli as well as their smoked caesar salad, all without using animal products OR soy are amazing.

Service has always been quick and pleasant for me here, and I have never had an issue with quality.

For a filling lunch that is eco-conscious, we will continue to return to KB & co.

I recently had a very disappointing customer service experience with kb+co. I stopped in for lunch and grabbed a few cookies to go. I brought the cookies home for dessert after dinner that night. Unfortunately, we couldn't enjoy them because they were raw. They tasted like raw flour and oil. Completely undercooked and awful. Normally I'd just throw them out and call it a loss, but for $3.50 per cookie I decided to follow up with them. I sent them an e-mail through their website and within a few days heard from the owner, Kristina.

Kristina proceeded to thank me for the feedback, and tell me that she checked the cookies and "they all seemed fine" (so now she's arguing with me that they weren't raw). She apologized and told me "hopefully you'll give them another try". I replied to tell her I was a bit disappointed in her response and I never heard back.

For the high price tag I was hoping for the best vegan cookies I'd ever had. Instead, they were inedible, and Kristina couldn't even offer to replace them. If you serve a sub-par product (whether or not you agree with the assessment), you should be willing to make the situation right. It's just a matter of principal. She should know that it doesn't cost her anything to replace the cookies, and that she's losing more money by losing customers. I really like the other food I've tried there but unfortunately, I won't be going back.

If you're super health conscious and are into vegan/vegetarian food then Kb & Co. is the place for you. Just make sure you're willing to drop some more green cause this place is a little expensive. I like the look of the place, super modern with lots of white. More so to casually drop in to have a quick bite. My girlfriends been on a health binge lately so I wasn't too excited when I was looking through the menu.

My girlfriend got their Acai Bowl, which comes with Açai purée, chopped bananas, fruit and granola. Honestly this wasn't bad, wasn't too sweet and it's exudes healthiness. Not my cup of tea though but it reminds me of a smoothie in cereal form. I got their Smokey Caesar which I was quite surprised with. It had decent flavour. Slightly salty from the "smoked coconut bacon" and the "garlic almond dressing" in place of a real Caesar dressing wasn't too bad. The croutons were probably the best bits to munch on. But for close to $11+, I wasn't even close to satisfied with the portion. How is anybody supposed to get close to full with this without spending $$$$$?

For drinks my girlfriends Matcha Green Tea Misto was sort of bland to be honest. Not the greatest thing sipping on bland coconut milk with almost zero sweetness. I got their Mango Mojito and it was aight. Not the best in terms of flavour, the greens over power everything, including the mint & mango. And when you're paying close to $9+ for a single bloody drink, you kinda feel chapped and wish you just went to Jugo Juice instead.

Kb & Co. isn't bad but coming from a Chefs point of view I don't see any excitement in this type of food. Yeah it's healthy and good for you but I'll make do with a real Caesar salad any day of the week.

This place is lit AF, I come here on the reg and the staff are super friendly and make the best food. Every order has lots of care put into it and it looks amazing inside, always clean. A little pricey but worth it to do your body good and the quality is top notch.

I came here on a Tuesday morning and decided to try their breakfast/brunch options. I ordered the balsamic berry avocado toast and an iced matcha latte. The matcha latte had a little too much matcha for my liking, but the avocado toast was delicious. I would recommend ordering 2 or more items for brunch because the single slice of toast was not enough for myself. My friend ordered the oat and hempseed waffles which were also delicious. The almond-coconut whip cream was one of the best vegan substitutes for whip cream I've tasted. The atmosphere and the decor in Kb&co was also great. I will definitely be back to try other items on their menu.

I go to KB all the time now that I work downtown. It's so convenient to have a place to grab a quick and healthy bite to eat. My favorites are the coconut BLT and the tahini beet wrap. Sooo yummy.

The meals are really a great value for the price, especially considering the quality of ingredients.

The girls at the front always greet me and are more than helpful, and the place is always spotless. Absolutely LOVE this spot. Would recommend.

The aesthetic of this space was the only pro to my visit, the space as beautiful as it is, is not enough to convince me to come back. I came around 3pm on a thursday, there was one girl behind the counter who saw that I came in, but didn’t acknowledge me until I walked towards the order sign. Nbd.
I ordered the Coconut Chai Tea and took it to go. I got my drink pretty fast, and that’s as far as my experience goes in store. My tea however lasted three sips before I threw this $6.04 drink out. The grainy texture from the cashew was throwing me off giving it a more nutty taste that didn’t mix well with the spice of the chai. Didn’t enjoy - not my thing, won't be back.

Went here for the first time today. I heard about it through a food blogger and was interested because of the whole vegan & healthy deal; coupled with all the new fitness studios popping up around the city, it's definitely one of those new trendy places. The atmosphere is really nice, it's a small place nestled in the fox building downtown.

They have a number of healthy food options as well as smoothies that you can turn into smoothie bowls (+ $3 for 3 toppings) - essentially a smoothie, in a bowl, with your choice of toppings. They have toppings like flax and chia seeds, granola, goji berries, etc.

I got the sweet green smoothie with granola, chia seeds and bananas. It was okay, I like all of the superfood options you can put on top. However, I would be wary about which smoothies you decide to make into a bowl, because my smoothie was on the thin side and I think only thicker smoothies are suited for bowls. My boyfriend got the cookies & cream protein shake and I think it would have been excellent in a bowl. I also got the Marinated Mushroom Avocado Toast. The flavors were yummy and it looked amazing, my only gripe is that it was very difficult to eat! I tried eating it with my hands and the toppings went everywhere, then I tried to use and fork and knife, but the bread was too hard to cut. They serve it in a box, making it extra difficult!

Anyway, I'm impressed with what I got. It was a little pricey, but I get that you're paying for healthy superfoods which I don't imagine to be inexpensive to begin with. I did find that the service provided to me was lacking; when I came in (to the empty store) the two employees behind the counter didn't spare us a look or greeting for a good 5+ minutes. When I asked about the difference between flax and chia seeds the employee told me "nothing really" 0.o? And they didn't offer me any suggestions when I asked what was good, either. Their unfriendly demeanor won't have me rushing back any time soon, and I definitely would have given them a better rating if they were even remotely nice to me!

I really love it here! The atmosphere and the decor are really refreshing. I've been here twice so far; first time I went I ordered the acai bowl and I absolutely loved it. I also got a matcha tea misto which I found to be so concentrated that I wanted to add a LOT more milk afterwards haha. I guess it was my first time trying a misto so I didn't expect it to be like that.
The second time, I found out that I could turn any smoothie into a smoothie bowl so I got the berry-oxidant smoothie with granola, chia seeds, and banana. The only reason why I don't go here more often is because of how pricey I find it! From what I remember, the acai bowl was about $9? and the misto was $5; the smoothie is $9 plus $3 to make it into a smoothie bowl to add 3 toppings.
Service is great, the workers there are really upbeat and friendly haha. But I don't know why their food all comes out in disposable packaging (even if you're staying in to eat) and I find that it's a lot of waste? I know they stand for clean eats and "eating plants" and such so I'm sure their packaging is probably all recycled materials. I just find it a little contradicting to have so much waste rather than having plates/cups/bowls to reuse? Anyway, it doesn't really have much impact on the taste/quality of their food, I just wanted to mention it. Overall a great place for clean eats. I may return to try their sandwiches/salads eventually.
