Review Chopped Leaf - Edmonton

This is the worst location ever! The first time I ordered the No. 1 bowl and it was disgusting with old lettuce and no avocado I threw it away I couldn't even eat it. The second time I thought I would give them another chance so I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and the bread was soggy with old lettuce and only 3 small pieces of chicken. I will never go back to this location.

Utter disapointment. Should have checked their review score. No wonder they get 3.6. Mushroom chowder had a consomme consistency. Spicy chicken? If I gave that chicken to 100 people I suspect 99 would say that is not spicy. Toasting of sandwich made all the greens wilted.

I enjoyed my lunch time visit here. The service was friendly and courteous. The main feature here is salads but I had a sandwich. It was great, I had the Cranberry Pesto Chicken sandwich which is pressed. It’s a nice place with comfortable seating. It’s clean and well lit. My order was prepared in a timely fashion. I may come again and the reason I say that is not that it was a bad experience but there are so many choices to eat downtown I gotta try other places.

while nothing wrong with my order itself, they need better organization in there. It should not take 13 mins for a simplistic quesadilla which only requires cheese and chicken. The actual cooking time was under 3 mins, the other 10 mins was because they had 5 people running around like chickens with their heads cut off.

I enjoyed my vegetarian wrap. I was a little disappointed in the amount of chips I received. They were very sparing with the 8 chips. I would have been more happy if they didn't ask like they were on a chip budget. All in all I was very happy with the quality of the food. I will be back. Thank you xoox!

The food is healthy and delicious but the service is super slow. It's not ideal if you're working downtown and only have a certain amount of time for lunch.

Got bowl #2 with some fix-ins and it was absolutely delicious. Ingredients were fresh and the serving size was substantial. When I️ went to go pick up my order the man working there was very friendly and had great customer service. One of the best locations in the city. Bravo

Going downhill! Past orders have been missing ingredients or totally wrong. Today's rice in my Idol Stuffed Cup is tasteless mush!! This will be my last visit, after I return this disappointing meal.
Nina Stocker
$6.50 for soup and it was only filled halfway. So disappointed.

My cobb salad was missing the egg and the avocado. I paid 875 for a "cobb" salad missing half the ingredients and I'm still hungry after lunch. Very disappointing. Will not be visiting again.

The spicy chicken sandwich and spicy tomato soup are amazing

very good for a healthy ish food option. the prices are high however and im disappointed in the amount of stuff they put into their sandwiches , i got a spicy chicken sandwich and it felt like it was mostly just bread.

Kind of over-priced. $1.50 for a small portion of rice in my wrap is kind of ridiculous... Other than the pricing Chopped Leaf is a great restaurant. I love the food.

Paid almost $7.00 to finally sit down and realize this is how they filled the cup. Nearly 1/4 is missing. Horrible for the amount of money you pay. Sunterra is a significantly better quality and quantity.

Cheap!. I just ordered their soup for the first time and i asked for a large. I paid around $6.50 for this soup and when i arrived in my office i noticed that the bowl was only HALF FULL. so basically i paid over 6 bucks for 30 cents worth. Horrible rip off and i will not be returning.

Not worth it. When I first started going there it was great but now...not so much. I hardly get any salad and they are super stingy on the toppings. Nope will never go there again!

Not impressed. The food was certainly good - but the service was inattentive, and I ended up being given someone else's order. For the prices they charge, you'd think they'd take a lot more care in handing out people's orders - especially on a lunch hour downtown, when people are on the run and often have to grab their food and head back to the office. I won't be back.

My favourite lunch spot. I really don't get the bad reviews! Every time I go (which is at least weekly, as I work in a nearby office tower), I get a great salad. Ingredients are fresh and plentiful and service pretty prompt considering the crazy long line that's inevitable over lunchtime.

So many reasonably low-cal options, so many vegetables, and there is something pretty great about the five-foot-nothing kitchen staff member who cheerfully bellows out order names and numbers in a voice I can almost hear from my office.

It's over priced and every time I go there for lunch they are out of what I want to order. When I mentioned that to the person taking my order they said "I know and shrugged". Not the best customer service.

Gluten Free Friendly!. A friend introduced me to The Chopped Leaf a couple months ago, and I was instantly impressed by their Gluten Free Friendly menu! So simple to decipher. I took my mom back for lunch a couple of weeks ago and she was very excited to find another Gluten Free option downtown. While the prices seem high when your looking at the menu, everything is prepared so well, and the portion sizes are adequate.

If you enjoy over priced salads, soups and quesadillas Chopped Leaf is definitely for you. A starter caesar salad with chicken, side of soup and a bottle of soda cost more than $15. The soup portion was small and the soup itself was bland. The caesar salad wasn't creamy, more thin and runny. The chicken portion was a bit on the light side. After my meal I left unimpressed and still hungry. If you're craving a good salad walk past the Chopped Leaf and take the escalator up to Sun Terra and make one yourself.

Rip-Off. I too signed up just to review the Chopped Leaf.

Although the food is very tasty, it is horrendously over-priced. Popeye salad and puny bowl of lukewarm spicy tomato soup is not lunch. It is a snack. A few very perfect pecans is not enough to make up for the lack of protein and $3 to add tofu?!?!? Really?!?!?

Overcharging is arrogant and disrespectful of clientele. I will not return to be ripped off again.

Fantastic Catering. I arranged a team luncheon for 39 people. Kristy Farion was the catering manager I worked with. She was knowledgeable and so incredibly helpful in creating a great lunch for the team.

I printed the menus from the website and everyone was able to place their own order. 39 orders that varied between personalized wraps, rice bowls, quesadillas, sandwiches and salad rolls and every single one was delivered as ordered! One team member said their rice bowl was so good he could literally dive into it!

We also had five large salads which were some of the best salads I've ever had. The produce was fresh and the dressings were so flavourful. At one point when everyone was eating, it was funny to hear the crunch-crunch of the lettuce. All we had left from five large trays of salads was a quarter of a tray. People went back for seconds and thirds.

It was a great lunch and we appreciate what Kristy and the rest of the Chopped Leaf Commerce Place staff did for us!

Sparse Offerings & Overpriced. Was so excited when this place opened in my office building; unfortunately, it does not live up to its potential.

I created my own salad. The topping were fresh but incredibly sparse--I had one sliver of cucumber and two cherry tomatos. Also, despite not getting cheese (which is included in the price), they did let me add another topping at no cost (I asked for carrots).

The salad was fine, but for $14 (I added prawns for protein), I could go to the Holt Renfrew cafe and have a better salad for less.

This place is severely overpriced and has minimal toppings--not much nutritional benefit from one cucumber sliver.

I would be there very day if they were more generous with their toppings and/or lowered their prices.

I enjoyed my lunch at Chopped Leaf. It was very well presented and had lots of variety. Just what you would expect in a good meal salad. It cost more than I expected though. I will go back but not too often.

Not worth the price. I just signed up for Urban Spoon so I could post a review for Chopped Leaf. I just paid 10 bucks for one of their "whole bowls" (No. 1 - brown basmati rice, black bean corn salsa, regular salsa, cheddar, sour cream, avocado, cilantro, pita chips plus I added chicken). The box is basically just half rice and half iceberg lettuce. For the 2 bucks I paid for the chicken, I got 4 TINY pieces. There's barely any avocado, and a few of the other ingredients. What a rip off.
Linda
What a Rip Off!. I ordered a starter salad with double tomato, carrot and cucumber. Because there was no protein or cheese they said they would add more veggies. I got a box of lettuce with a few carrots, cucumbers and tomatoes thrown in. I counted the cherry tomatoes - there were 6 quarters. That's a double order and more? All for $7.09? Yikes! I will not be back.
