A solid sandwich & pie shop with super fresh ingredients I got the auto bahn which is a sandwich with ham, roast beef & turkey the bread had a crusty exterior with a soft inside the meat was juicy & fresh & the veg toppings also crisp & fresh. I wanted to try some soup, they looked amazing it was beef & barley & thai today, but knew the sandwich would be more than enough for lunch. I also had to try the pecan pie after hearing so much about it & it did not disappoint was delicious. The only thing that could make this better would be if they had some more styles of meats but hey still very good.
Been searching for a great sandwich place, and this is it! From their homemade bread, delicious soups and deserts with fresh ingredients, this is the place to go!
Great place to get a super fresh sandwich made just the way you like. There is a cafeteria style ordering system complete with trays and self serve beverages. They offer homemade soups and sandwiches with fresh baked bread, roasted meats, and a nice selection of fresh veggies. You can tell Fife n Dekel offers quality food by the long lines and large groups of seniors there for lunch - don't let this deter you as the line moves fast and it is worth the wait. Make sure to try the pie, probably the best in town.
Love it here! Great place for lunch, just be sure to get here early before the line up starts. ALL pies are absolutely delicious, and I love the chicken salad and sunflower bread. The catering is also fantastic, and I order it for the office quite frequently. The food they cater is fresh, on time, and the order is always perfect. They are also extremely accommodating with dietary requests!
Very good. No issue with quality here; the line-ups that start at 11:30 are a testament to that. My only criticism would be that the flimsy plastic utensils and see-through napkins could be upgraded.
Goodness for Sure!!!. Never been disappointed here, ingredients are fresh, service is prompt, always busy....what's NOT to like?........Yeah, I's do THAT again
PIES!!!. Oh my.. they have the best pies ever!!! The strawberry rhubarb, blueberry, peach, and apple are all fantastic. There are still lots more other flavors I havent tried yet but boy am I ever looking forward to it.
Lunch Time!. Go here for the fresh sandwiches and the fabulous pies! I have never had a complaint any time I've gone here. When I brought my husband here for his first time they gave us free pies for him being a first time customer. Everything is always fresh and it's a good place to go if you're looking for a healthy sandwich. I usually get the turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce,...that is my favourite. Pies are always fresh with a lovely crust and we get it a la mode. Never had a problem with any line ups anytime we've come, it's always quiet.
Taste great - but is it worth it?. I love to eat at Fife, i find their sandwiches and pies a delight. However, each time i go i feel less inclined to return. Waiting in line for 25 minutes for an overpriced (however delicious) sandwich gets frustrating.
They keep hiring new people who are hideously slow and don't appreciate that people only have half an hour (or an hour) for lunch, and it is hard when you spend the entire time in a lineup.
Overall, it is great food - but is it really worth the wait and the price?

Not Bad But Not Spectacular. After having several co workers constantly raving about this place, I finally got a chance to see what all the fuss was about.
Went there at about 1pm and the line up was quite short. The ladies behind the counter were still in busy mode, they were fast and to the point. So you've got to know what kind of sandwich you want so that they can pump you through. Good for lunch hour, but unnecessary for when its calm.
I had the turkey with lots of veggies. It was a decent sandwich. I think what we have to remember is that a sandwich is a sandwich. So as far as turkey and veggies go, it was delicious. Plain and simple, with fresh ingredients always make a good sandwich.
I didn't get a chance to try any of their pies, but again I've heard nothing but good things, so I'll be back for that.
Fantastic fresh peach pie in season. One of our "Best of Edmonton" picks for Summer 09

We tried the wicked Thai and chicken noodle soups as we continued around to the soup and salad section. Though I was told neither were homemade, the wicked thai still was a flavorful explosion of mushrooms, peppers, and chicken with the richness of coconut and moderate heat of curry. The chicken noodle was disappointingly thin and generic.
sunlight drenched Fifendekel Pie Shop Cafe for lunch and pies.. and they should know their pies.. they've been baking them since 1983! They have huge glass windows that let in plenty of light so its bright and cheerful inside the cafeteria style eatery... onto the foooood! (and pie!) the FOOD My boyfriend zero'ed in on the egg salad sandwich on sunflower bread (there's rye and white too), and topped his with onion, lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes and pickles on the side. The sunflower bread was tender and had a nice nuttiness to it from the sunflower seeds, and there was a generous portion of chopped egg salad inside.. simple and yummy. I was super tempted to try an Auto Bahn, "a turkey, roast beef, and ham road trip", but I veered towards a Roast Beef - Alberta's best, oven roasted sandwich instead. I went with the fresh baked in store sunflower bread, and almost all the fixings - le

With my throat on the mend, I was treated to a relaxing lunch by The Captain, BP and Sarah. Knowing that we’d need a place that offered soup (along with other options) I suggested Fife N’ Dekel. With it’s laid back environment, and freshly made sandwiches
