Did you know you can substitute any of the pho with pho sate broth 😱 that’s what i did 💁🏻♀️ i got their #13 (beef brisket, tendon, tripe & crunchy flank) with sate broth 🥜 🍲 👅 They have 4 locations in Edmonton!
I have recently returned to Pho Hoan Pasteur after a long hiatus, and the change has been remarkable in the restaurant. As I was seated I was promptly given water and tea, which I have never experienced in a Pho restaurant. After, as I received my food a waitress noticed my water was empty and she quickly filled my glass without asking. The food was fresh and pipping hot, and the service was the best service in a Pho restaurant I've had! They were always smiling! Will return again!
Hands down the best pho restaurant in town. No other place can beat this place in Northside. People here are very friendly with good service. It's never too busy that you have to wait a long time for a table. You have to try their shakes and other deserts as well. Their durian smoothies are so good!
What?? I haven't reviewed my favourite pho place in town yet???! haha. I come here so often the servers probably already know me. I usually get their spicy and sour seafood noodle soup, satay noodle soup, and pho dac biet. All are really good. The only thing I wouldn't suggest you to order here is their bun bo hue haha. Not good, not spicy at all. We also usually get their spring rolls (idk why it's so much better here than anywhere else?) and green onion cakes. Their price went up just recently which is sad news, but at least quality and portions stayed the same.
Hands down best Pho in the city besides my mom's place. Even when she's craving a bowl of pho this is her go to place. Even mom approves then it's good.
Other than pho the rest of the menu is pretty tasty. The chicken vermicelli bowl is my favorite here.
The bun bo hue is tasty but can be a little greasy some nights.
Other than that, you won't be disappointed coming here.
Not the greatest service but it made up for it in good food, and it was actually spicy enough for my partner who hates when restaurants dull the spice for the average white person. Also pretty sure they use MSG, but otherwise it was good.
This place has the best food. Pho is delicious great broth. Rice plates and vermicelli bowls are super flavorful. Best spring rolls and green onion cakes I've ever had. I highly recommend the beef stew, it's more of a soup than "traditional" stew but the flavors are unreal. Sooooo good! Best pho place in Edmonton.
Consistently delicious pho! Very good hours, lovely staff, it makes sense why it's always busy! Lots of tables though, you can usually get soup within 20 minutes of entering
Not only is the pho here delicious, the onion cake and spring rolls were also on point. Every dish was seasoned well and I would have to say that the broth was not just pure salt but it had the flavor I was craving for. The coconut drink was the cherry on top mostly because it has been a while since I’ve had this type of drink. Service was super fast with the drinks and food literally coming out in 5 minutes after we ordered. The meal was extremely cheap with the total coming out to approximately $25 (for appetizers, pho, and drinks altogether). I will definitely be stopping by again in the future.
The food here is good. The service I experienced was horrible though. It took me 20 minutes to get a drink. The food came fast but we were not given plates, bowls or anything and when I asked I got the look.
The food is delicious. The 4 of us each tried a different vermicelli bowl. Service was exemplary. I I honestly cannot think of any negatives at all.
I'm usually pretty satisfied after a meal at Pho Hoan Pasteur. Pho bo is decent, but I really enjoy their bun bo hue and rice dishes the most.
Very good meals.
Good service.
Good portions.
Cleanest Vietnamese restaurant in YEG.
Their various menu will satisfy the entire family.

Excellent but they give you lemon instead of lime. Otherwise the food is great. Pho broth wasn't too salty and had the right balance of spices and fish sauce. The solids portion was great... Just really wish you could get lime because it's a much better than lemon for Asian soups
They have one of the best phos and beef satay in the city. The service is very fast and the food is fresh. I love coming here for a quick and authentic Vietnamese meal.
#15, House Special Pho was one of the best I've had! Broth is delicious even before hoi sin and hot sauce. Friendly staff and great tea as well!
Everything awesome. Fast service, good price, great quality, and they have the chili oil at the table. Must have are the vermicelli or pho soup bowl and the Vietnamese coffee and avocado shake.
One simply leaves the place thinking: "so pasteur'ing good"
Amazing pho and great service!. This place has some of the best pho in the city. The broths are rich and tasty and really taste homemade. Not too salty, like some pho broths tend to be. The employees are super friendly and always offer you tea or water if you're waiting for takeout. Great place to check out!
Great food, fast service, cheap. What's not to like? Definitely one of my places I go and have some good pho!
Good, Fast, and Cheap.. Most restaurants can only be two of those things. And most fast food outlets will still charge you $9-$11 for their combo "deal". Which is why I would rather come to this place and spend the same amount for some consistently delicious food. With the rice and vermicelli dishes, the meat is always tender, marinated and never lacking in flavour. You get enough sauce to keep it from being too dry. I love the spring rolls, light but very crispy. I enjoyed the green onion cakes as well. I've tried most of their soups, the spicy variations can get a little intense once you reach the bottom. The beef stew is actually still a soup but with beef cubes instead. The broth also has a different flavour, but I really enjoyed it. Perhaps they could use a tad more meat, but considering the price, it is hard to complain. I try to pace myself and not eat all the meat at once, work on the broth and the noodles too.
I visit regularly since I work in the area, and I know I can always count on this restaurant to give me a good meal for a good price. Plus I get tired of eating sandwiches and pizza haha.
When in doubt get Phos. I found this place because it is in the same strip mall as my dog groomer's, not necessarily the best reason but one night we decided to try the food. While the service is a bit rough sometimes and if you want something after your meal has arrived you have to flag an employee down but I've found all of the employees to be willing to give any assistance that you need.
Now the food, I love Vermicelli bowls and they make a very nice one. I always get the Vietnamese Spring roll and beef bowl and I am never disappointed, my boyfriend always gets their spicy Pho Tai Sata (#16) and it is seasoned perfectly every time. We start with more spring rolls, they are nicely fried and never oily, and the green onion cakes. I'm not usually a fan of green onion cakes but I make an exception because they are light and fluffy here.
We've tried several drinks and while I'm not overly fond of the tea we haven't run into a drink we didn't enjoy.
This is a good restaurant that we would frequent even if it wasn't close to our house. As it is we are well on our way to becoming locals and appreciate their consistent food and the fact that it is never a hardship to bring new people to this restaurant and get good food.
Best pho place in town. Friendly service. Good prices.
Close to home. Awesome green onion cakes. Amazing beef satay pho! And they're always busy when my wife and I go in so obviously it's more than just us who love it.
It's ok.... One of the better ones in the north side of Edmonton.
Pho Hoan Pasteur is like... Pho Hoa but a whole lot better.. Sorry for comparing to Pho Hoa (Garbage) :(
The only reason I say that is because it's starting to feel like a bigger, recognizable franchise that doesn't have a whole lot of personality. It's like, McDonalds is good, but you won't call out on it and say it's unique and interesting. Same with Boston Pizza, it's just good, but you aren't gonna write home that you ate there.
The food was OK. The price was OK. The service was more than enough (asked me twice if the food was OK). Nothing stands out here and nothing is memorable. It's just good.
Think of it as that guy or girl you once dated and he/she was just OK... nothing really stands out as being good or bad but just placid and even-going... that's Pho Hoan Pasteur.
Phobulis !! Love it!! Gree.... Phobulis !!
Love it!!
Green onion cakes!!
Yum!. Good food, okay service. Satay Beef soup is delicious!
Good pho & bun. Service was a bit spotty like most other viet restos.
Room was a bit half assed. It was a italian place and they just sort of stripped the features off. bare concrete floor is a bit off putting.
Portions was just right for the price.
The pho & bun is good, that really all that matters at the for a viet place, case closed.
Oh, the 3 colour bean drink is good too.
A friend and I went here for the first time tonight and we were both very impressed! Excellent food and wonderful, friendly service. We will definitely be back :)
Glad we found a place close to home that serves delicious pho. Can't wait to go back and try the other dishes on the menu!!!
Oh boy, do they serve a great bowl of satay beef noodle soup here. Just try not to drink the broth down after the noodles are gone.
I have been to this place a few times and every time the food and service was perfect. I've been to many pho places where they never ask how the table is doing or if we need anything. The staff in this place was incredible and the food was amazing. Pho Huan Pasteur is my new pho place.
Highly Recommend It! Will Return.. I’m visiting from Vancouver and really craved Vietnamese cuisine. As an avid Pho eater, I have tried many soup broths, so I’m very particular with how it tastes. I also highly appreciate the use of fresh ingredients. Fortunately, Pho Hoan Pasteur did not disappoint. I had Pho Satay for the first time as well as spring rolls while my friend had Bun Bo Hue. The satay was aromatic and had a slight creamy consistency with a hint of sweetness- absolutely delicious. I really enjoyed the spring rolls; it’s a delectable, well-portioned appetizer to have before your main course. My friend loved his Bun Bo Hue and craved for seconds. The restaurant is spacious while service is friendly and helpful. Overall, I am extremely happy with my experience here. Let’s just say: I wish they relocated to Vancouver.
Great food, good price. Went here and had a grilled chicken vermicelli bowl, was really impressed how it tasted and the amount of chicken was generous for the price. Spring rolls were really good too and I'm picky about them. The service was friendly and oh, love the tea!
One of the best of the best!!!! Finally one closest to my house here in northside!!! Soup is super delish lots of flavour especially the Bon bu hue and satay beef... Vermecilli noodles are to die for!!! They aren't cheap in meat that's for sure!!! Customer service is excellent, they don't bother u much an they don't neglect u either!!! All in all I would recommend it to everybody!!! Good place good food... I guess everything's good!!! Would definitely come back !!! Been here obviously like 10xxx !!!
The food is exceptional. Very fresh and served quickly. There are 2 things that should be addressed 1. The tea tastes and smells like dirty noodle water. 2. The servers do not come back after your food is served. This was my second visit and both times we needed to go to the counter I get take out boxes for our left overs and to get our bill. That means no refills and no chance to order more food.
Having stated only 2 small issues I love this place. We needed a good Vietnamese place on the north side. This will be my twice a month kind or place.
The soup is very very good. Probably the best I've ever had, and I've eaten at more than 50 Pho restaurants. Went for lunch on a weekday, it was busy and parking was very limited but the food came to our table in a timely manner. But with pho that good, I'll be back.
I am glad that they opened a location on the northside. Their bo kho, pho dac biet and freshly squeezed orange juice was very good but a little bit on the 'greasier' side. The restaurant itself is pretty nice as well nothing special. 9/10 bowls of pho!
Just as good as their other location!. I was very excited to try this place out as I really like their Kingsway location! Its a nice big open space that isn't as busy as their their location as it has only been opened for 2 weeks.
I had their Bun Bo Hue and it tasted just like the other location. However their pho broth seems to be a bit more "beefy". Its actually quite good. I am very pleased with their service and food here.
Pho in theory, is a very simple dish. Beef broth served with sliced rare beef and rice noodles, often topped with fresh sprouts, cilantro, onions, and basil. So why is it that so many places in the city can’t seem to get it right? We’ve had our fair share of bad pho experiences, whether it’s the meat that isn’t sliced thin enough, or the broth having too much of one spice but not enough of another. The balance that makes the perfect bowl of pho is a hard one to execute and every place you go to has their own twist on the simple recipe. So, you’re probably wondering, how does Pho Hoan Pasteur fit into the mix? To me, Pho Hoan Pasteur is probably one of the best pho houses in the city.
Pho Hoan Pasteur remains my top Vietnamese restaurant in Edmonton. Their broth top notch, their meat flavourful and plentiful, their bean sprouts crisp and fresh all make up an excellent Vietnamese restaurant that should be considered for anyone in the mood for a good bowl of pho in Edmonton.
So I am slowly discovering north side restaurants, which I never had a reason to do so previously. I have been to Pho Hoan Pasteur’s original location several times so we decided to check out their new north side spot on a Sunday evening. Random – we called to find out what time they close, lady told us 8:45pm over the phone (random time to close up) and when we get there, we see the sign that says it closes at 10pm. Odd – oh well, happy it’s open late! I also thought the front of the menu was pretty hilarious, who puts we “review periodically for service quality”. Pho Hoan Pasteur menu Anyways, we were absolutely starving so both of us ordered right away: – #7 pho small ($8.25) – steak and tripe #7 pho (steak and tripe) - #17A pho large ($10.50) – sweet and sour seafood. This is the first time I’ve ever ordered sweet and sour soup, but the broth was delicious. An actual decent spiceness level to the broth and made you want to keep on eating it. A couple decent sized shrimp, imit

Everyone has their favourite pho restaurant – that’s a given – but if you’re in my neck of the woods, check out this Namao centre gem. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
Just a couple months ago, Phở Hoan Pasteur opened it’s second location in the north side of town, much to the joy of my family. Although we make our own phở at home, once in awhile it’s always nice to go out and get a bowl of the saltier and fattier broth and the more adequately sliced beef of restaurant phở. Even better when it’s within a 5 minute drive from our house! The original location on Kingsway Avenue is actually the family’s favorite, and Edmontonians seem to agree, ranking it as #4 on Urbanspoon’s list of Vietnamese restaurants. Not only so, it would be #1 if you only count restaurants specializing in phở (should have it in it’s name is my policy).
I ordered take out from here and was pleased with the service, both on the phone when I ordered, and in person when I went to pick up the order.
The food was delicious, and the serving sizes were nice and big. Great value in my opinion - an XL soup is easily two meals even for a big eater like myself.

It was very good as usual. Very quick in and our service. Friendly staff
Fast service and friendly staff. I highly recommend the #16 beef satay pho! So yummy 😋. It’s great comfort food. Go for the large as it’s only $1 more than the small bowl. If you can’t finish it, take the rest home!
Out of all the Pho places in Edmonton, I can't seem to beat this place. The broth is just too good!
I also have nostalgia of my grandmothers magical purse, after paying because of those little fruit candies they have at the desk lol. A great place to get some delicious comfort food.
Excellent service and very well made food. They were quick to deliver the food and it was all hot, fresh, and had tasty ingredients. Would recommend to groups. Their menu contains a large selection of similar noodles but with different contents.

Had the house special beef noodle soup (has steak, flank, tendon and tripe) and green onion cakes, it was absolutely delicious. It is pretty busy but seating times are relatively low, service is quick too. I'd definitely come here again. I recommend it to anyone who's a fan of soups, noodle soups and the like!
Excellant food. There beef satay soup I believe it's number 16 on the menu, it is the best soup I've ever had a must eat. ☝️
