Everything we ordered was finger licking good. We went on Friday so they were extremely busy.. only 2 ppl serving and managing the online order pick up as well.. low on staff but still excellent in everything be it food or service.. definitely would go again and highly recommend the place..
Awesome dosas and friendly staff..must visit place for every south indian food lover
Savoy’s is the best thing to ever happen to the University of Alberta. Their food is delicious and the staff are always friendly.
My favorite south indian restaurant in Edmonton! I absolutely love all their dosas, and their avacado milkshake is incomparable.
Yummy Food
Very Nice and respectful staff
They care for their customers
We love Savoy. We have been a number of times and everything we have eaten has been great. Just went for Onam festival and was so impressed. Amazing food, well organised, and we got to sit with some very friendly people.
Amazing dosa and biriyani! Some of the best in Edmonton!
The food is delicious and fresh!! If you're looking for some genuine south indian food, i suggest you definitely try savoys. I especially loved the special savoys juice. It has a hint of ginger for a kick. DELICIOUS!!!!
Was on Sunday for the 1st time
and the best dosa I have ever had
Sorry I'm changing the review of the place, any restaurant can have a bad day when it comes to service. Keep up the good work.
Best Kerala restaurant in Alberta.. keep it up
Low-key restaurant serving very tasty Indian food. They focus on South Indian cuisine, so definitely try their South Indian dishes. We went there during a cold snap, so it would have been nice if the restaurant were a little warmer, but that’s not a huge deal. The service was excellent, helpful, and quick.
If you haven’t been then you need to. The Dosa is amazing and I find myself craving it nightly :)
The food is fast and spices fresh. It’s a place to try if you want to expand your Indian food experience.
Happen to visit these place with my friends today afternoon. We ordered beef masala and Kerala paratha, and the place had lived up to its expectations. The meat was tender, juicy and cooked in authentic South Indian way. The flaky parathasb were yummy and tasty.
The prices were reasonable considering the portion size.
I highly recommend this place if you want to taste authentic South Indian cuisine.
I drove all the way from fort saskatchewan and can say it was worth it as the food was really awesome and like perfect sambhar and paneer masala dosa was really yummy with like pure paneer which you rarely get ,th flavours were purely south Indian and service was really quick in terms if getting the orders but like staff was in a hurry to go even though we reached at 9 and it was about to close at 10 do atleast they would have taken care of the customers they themselves started eating and some of them had and left!!
I'm not a huge fan of South Indian food which is why I wasn't excited when my friend suggested this restaurant. This restaurant, however, came as a huge surprise. The restaurant has a humble interior that displays various aspects of the South Indian culture and a very friendly staff. I was curious when I saw Chicken Tikka Masala Dosa on the menu. We placed an order of Mysore Masala Dosa, Chicken Tikka Masala Dosa and Mutka ChickenBiryani. I was prepared for the same old Dosa and expected the Chicken Tikka Masala to be the usual, sweet, creamy and bland version of it that I've found at every Indian restaurant in Edmonton. I was very pleasantly surprised when I started eating, though. The Chicken Tikka Masala was exceptional. It was better than any restaurant I've eaten at in my time in Edmonton. The Mutka Biryani was a little different compared to what I'm used to eating but a good different. I'm definitely coming back again for the delicious food and the wonderful service.
Edit: They’ve recently renovated the whole place and it looks so good! They definitely didn’t compromise on food or service. Another great experience!
One true authentic South Indian Food that you can ever have in Edmonton. Not only the management are south Indians, the Chefs are from south India. So you will get the true south Indian flavor and spice to you food. If you ever go there the following are a must: Matka chicken biriyani, Kodi Mirapakaya Veppudu (Andhra Chicken Fry)
, porotta with Beef Curry and ghee Dosa. You can always talk to the chef and adjust your spice level. If you truly love Indian food then you should never miss this place.
A typical Kerala restaurant i would say.The food is authentic, tasty and spicy enough to tamper your taste buds. This place always take a lot of time o serve the food. And very less privacy because the tables are too close by. I would visit again. May be get parcel next time :).
good food it has that south indian touch in their food. Need a lot of improvement in their service coz its way too slow and unprofessional. But full marks for the food.
I would very much give this place full points!! Service was quick, even on a saturday evening when the place was packed! The food was fresh and delicious. (Didnt get that heavy feeling after). I loved the chicken 65, all their chutnis, Mosouri dosa, parathas and rasa wada. Try their specialty drink you will love it !!! Over all, clean place , good environment, perfect for family gathering, events, or just a quick meal. Also , the tv plays good bollywood music while you eat which is a plus if you don't like your company . Haha
A delightful experience. We had aapam, veg stew, kottu porotta,idli-vada, masala tea, masala uttapam. Highly recommended this place for its authentic taste of south Indian cuisine.
