Solid place to get Malaysian food! The food is absolutely delicious and I don’t find it to be too pricey- the portions are pretty decent. It takes a little while for them to cook, but the wait is definitely worth it! I would recommend one of their signature curries and the pineapple fried rice!

The taste of the dishes is pretty tasty and the portion is okay. My husband and I haven’t came here for years and decided to make a trip with our family to give it a try again. I remember the old Tropika location had more of a Malaysian feel inside the restaurant and was bigger. The feel at this location is average and smaller than the older one in what I can recall. I suggest to order their pineapple fried rice, Singapore laksa, rendang curry, and Hainanese chicken.

This place is wonderful. I've had tropika in Vancouver before and this is my first time trying it in Edmonton. It's exactly the same great taste as Vancouver. You guys do a great curry and a crispy and soft roti. Will be back.

Really good Malaysian food. Too bad the skewers is expensive as you get 1 skewer for $3. The star of the dish is the Singapore Laksa and brasil fried rice. Singapore Laksa has great depth from the the broth and the noodles is perfect. The fried rice is also good with basil fragrance and the meat. The curry chicken is not bad but I think it would work better with the white rice. It has that curry flavour but feels like it is missing someone and I cannot put my finger on it. Home style chicken is not bad initially but eventually you will be eating a dry piece of chicken as it needs sauce or something to compensate the dryness of the chicken. Vegetable dish is good. The mee goran is good too. The roti is kinda of a let down as the roti is a bit chewy normally it is soft and tender. I'm not sure from my experience eat there years ago but the dipping sauce is a bit runy and not enough peanut flavour. I do not recommend ordering set menu. Buy the dishes a la carte as you get to try different dishes from Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.

Everything we ordered was very tasty. The restaurant was clean and the staff was attentive and friendly. The dishes all taste very homemade and the prices are justifiable. Have gone here multiple times and every visit was great and we have tried most of the dishes in the menu and they are all really good.

I haven’t been here in over 10 years! Sad to see that they have renovated and it no longer has that tropical island feel but it’s all bright and shiny now. Skewers were flavourful, tender and juicy, and the flat bread came with a delicious curry sauce. Pineapple fried rice was beautiful but i probably wouldn’t order again. Camera shy: the sambal kang Kong (water spinach) which is my all time favourite veggie dish.
