Review Noodle Feast The Taste Of Northern China - Edmonton

This is the place to try out authentic Chinese noodles and other food items. I've been here a few times and the food was always great! Highly recommend.

My favourite noodle restaurant in the city! Simple but amazing flavours. I always get their hand pulled noodles with hot chili oil and green onions. They do run out of their hand pulled noodles sometimes but their sliced and rolled noodles are just as good. This restaurant is a must try in Edmonton!

Ordered curry fried noodles and it is amazingly good. Reminds me of fried noodles with beef from a regular Chinese restaurant. I liked the way they added bell pepper pieces in so much i bought bell pepper for Korean BBQ tonight.

Delicious, fresh homemade noodles that are bursting with flavour and legitly authentic Northern Chinese Noodles. There is no fusion here, this is as pure as it gets.

I absolutely enjoyed the noodles here the first time and had to come back. There were lots of option made with simple ingredients, however very flavourful. I would highly recommend their dumplings - by far the best I’ve tried! The $14.99 thick sesame pancake was not our cup of tea and was bland in taste even with the sauce provided but overall everything else was delicious

Very good noddles and very authentic. I always get the hand pulled noddle with pork meat sauce and it's always delicious. This time we also tried their rou jia me (pork sandwich) which was very good but at $9.99 we thought it was too expensive since it was quite small.

Ordered Takeout.... I live across the road so its a 2min walk to my place... Two pieces of meat, which btw was mush... Ya, pure mush. My soup had no flavor and the noodle was stuck together like a block of cheese, no veggies, and 70% noodle... Basically paid for over priced noodles, which were not so great...

Place is often full; service can be really good but no guarantee. Good noodles though.

While what I ordered was pretty tasty (hand pulled noodles with everything on them) the menu was hard to decipher, as others have said. Many things clearly say no soup next to them, leading someone to believe that the other items would be soup based, which is what I expected.

When I then received a non soup order I was rather confused and asked my waitress about this and if it could be added for an extra charge only to have the other waitress jump in and start saying very rudely and aggressively over and over "no soup no soup!" The actual bowl was about 1/3 full and looked under portioned, especially for the cost.

During my meal, the waitresses repeatedly helped other tables readily however they ignored me altogether, even when trying to get their attention. Given that I was the only white guy there and the rest of the patrons were Asian, it felt very much like a discrimination thing. When I went to pay the waitress was rude and short with me as well.

Overall I left having enjoyed the food although I felt it was overpriced for what you get and the service was horrible.

Update in Comments (4/5/2018)

Be prepared to wait for a table if you dine in with groups larger than 4. Not much seating in this place. However the food was great. Got the minced pork with chilli sauce and chive and pork dumplings in a soup. The dumpling soup is vinegary which made a nice contrast break from all the spice in noodle bowl I had. Come with a big appetite as the portions are big, or plan on leftovers. We came toward the end of the night, so some of the noodles weren't available, hence the 4 rating as well as lack of ample seating.

Hands down one of the best noodle places in Edmonton. The hand pulled noodles are fresh and so good. The service was quick and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone near the area.

Hand Pulled Noodles with egg & tomato sauce & hot chili oil, Hand Pulled Noodles with minced pork sauce & chili oil

Been here multiple times, and multiple times i’ve been happy eating here. Usually get, well only get the hand pulled noodles here. While there are sliced noodles and rolling noodles, hand pulled is definitely the move. Hand pulled noodles with the egg & tomato sauce was surprisingly tasty even though it had no protein. The tomato and egg quality was shockingly high, and would probably suggest this dish to a vegetarian. Hand pulled Noodles with minced pork and chili oil is my fave. Presentation wise it looks like shit in a bowl, but it tastes very much not like shit. The chili oil, pork, green onions with the bok choy has such good flavor. Don’t forget the noodles though, they are the main event here. These are noodles you just can’t get at any Chinese restaurant, you got to get them here.

NF is located on 34 ave and 99 st and is probably one of the best Chinese restaurants in the southside. You get a sheet to order off where you tick off the boxes, so service is relatively fast but not great. Like most Chinese restaurants, the water service here is close to non-existent. But the noodles are slippery, scuse me, please me.

Sal says: Just try it

@adubalicious says: Good flavor. Soft noodles. Might contain sleeping pills.

#yegeats #yeg #yegfood #food #foodie #foodporn #foodgasm #foodpics #foodstagram #instafood #delicious #hungry #yummy #dinner #lunch #chinese #northernchinese

I've been here on multiple occasions and it's literally as the name of her place. You get a big bowl of fresh made noodles. The noodles are really good and you have various choices to choose from. I tried the hand pulled noodles with beef soup and the soup was flavourful. But the star of the dish comes from the noodles. Perfectly al dente.

Ahh Noodle Feast. I have been here countless times although it's far from me because it's just that good! My favourites to order are the hand pulled noodles with meat & chili oil, the cold noodles, and the rolling noodles in sour and spicy soup. I love the noodles because they are so fresh and so filling! The sour & spicy soup isn't that spicy but it definitely has an authentic Northern China taste. The cold noodles is amazing, it's only $7 and some people may order it as an appetizer but I could get full on it as the portion isn't that small. Be prepared to wait if you go especially on evenings or weekends because it does get busy! I could tell that it is loved by many Chinese people as well which says a lot about its authenticity and taste!

Friendly wait staff (if a little overworked). Cozy atmosphere for a cold sunny January day.

Waiter's recommendation of sliced noodles with pork was great. Kid's dish was also quite tasty: hand-cut noodles.

A lot of hype for nothing all that special! Came in first through the doors had our food menu ordered and handed back specifically requested to have our first 3 dry Noodle dishes can come out first. Ended up not getting put through, so when we ordered our next 4 soup noodles15-20 mins later, everything ended up coming out an hr later together. We ordered the handpulled and rolling noodles, in tomatoes/eggs and minced pork sauce, it was OK, edible. The next was the four Noodle soups with pork bones and beef bones, and minced pork, all three in the same styles of Noodle was bland. And the last hot and sour Noodle, looked the most interesting had a weird tangy flavor, another disappointment. When we got here, there was line up of up to 30 people before the 12 pm doors opened. So I'm sure my review will not do this place any harm, and there are gonna be people who rave about Noodle Feast, but if your gonna try this place out for the first time,go in small groups and try it yourself before you decide to bring a large group of people and family who may all get disappointed at the same time. Cheers to better eats!

Helloooooooooo Noodle Feast, it’s been too long. Okay, that might be stretching the truth. I’ve been here easily over half a dozen times since my first time writing about them (see here). Not much has changed other than some new flooring. Everything else is same same and that’s a good thing.

Great authentic Chinese food.
I have been there a few time. There hand made noodles are consistent and perfect! It truly reminds me of small town China

I was looking for noodles that reminded me of my time in China - this place hit the spot! The toppings were great, and so were the noodles. The pull noodles with chilli oil and green onion were fantastic.

If you happen to get here at a busy time, a table will become available within 15-20 minutes (service is fast) so don't be deterred.

**** Seems like prices increased like all other resturant prices. Noodles still have nice texture but b flavors are a bit off .The noodles are also not cut so you get continuous noodle that doesn't end. Either too salty or too bland. Very tiny bit of minced pork and veey little veggie. If youre super only into noodles... then this is the place. If you dont mind setting your own table with very little service... ie napkins water minimal service then by all means..... a smile couldnt hurrlt either...**** we hadn't heard of noodle feast but apparently they've been around for 3 years. You can see the outlines for the boss signage. We had 106... cut noodles with pork ... 107 cut noodles curry and beef with onions n peppers... too oily.. and 518.. pork chive dumplings...interesting.. I can't place the sauce. I liked the noodles but there's very little meat. Pretty pricy I think. I'd come back n try the Lai mein.

Absolutely love this place for hand pulled noodles. There are 3 types which are pretty much made the same but cut and sized differently. The hand pulled noodles are long and huge! Definitely worth trying if you like chewier noodles but they are super long and huge lol. The dry noodles with beef brisket comes with some chili oil and pickled veg which is sooooo good.

I've been here before and I thought I had written a review. Well I was glad I didn't, because I had the luxury of coming here 3 times within a month and I can give a pretty honest and time averaged review. The verdict? I like it! But after a while you'll realise it's the same ingredients but done with different noodles and soup and so forth. Not a lot of variety. Not a lot of meat either.

Why do I still like it you ask? Because there's not a lot of options in Edmonton for traditional mainland Chinese noodles. I suppose we have Gui Lin Noodle House which is quite sour (lol). Now there's a Wheat Garden that I have to try out. Otherwise, Noodle Feast has kinda just monopolized the whole scene.

When you are faced with the menu for the very first time, these are the thoughts that will be going through your head - #1. Which of the 3 types of noodles do I want? #2. Out of the noodle I picked, do I want it to be soup or "dry" mixed #3. Do I want meat in mine or not? They should just do the menu like that for "dummies" so you can discover the noodles quicker. The ordering sheet is pretty large but the secret is that it's pretty much the same ingredients done in different ways. Nothing too special. Just take note of what you ordered this time and try to order something different another time, until you realised you've come full circle and you basically tried the whole menu after 5 items or so.

I enjoyed the juicy dumplings very much. I know it's $14 CAD and it is probably $1.4 CAD equivalent in RMB in China, but that's what you get for living in Edmonton, OK? :) I have tried their "Cold Steamed Noodles" and they are supposed to be famous ($7.99). I quite enjoyed it - perfect for a summer day. Everyone seems to order this $7.99 appetizer alongside their main order of noodles. Please note that this is for expert Chinese noodles lovers only. Do not attempt this or else you'll be in a carb coma. Share this $7.99 bowl with someone else. Also you'll have to like carbs to like this place because there's not much protein. The most protein you'll get is from the dumplings. You have been warned!

Very much enjoyed our first time to noodle feast. We were not exactly sure what to order, so we looked around to see everyone eating dumplings. It would only make sense to order them too. The 518 dumplings were great.
We also had the 505. Fried pancake sticks with egg and veggies. So yummy with just the right spice. We also got the 115 sliced noodles with Pork. Also good. The portions are huge. Glad we gave it try. If we are in the area with an appetite we will def be back!

Went on a Sunday afternoon which was a huge mistake ended up waiting 30minutes for a table with the 2 slowest and rudest wait staff I have ever seen. There were at least 4-5 other tables waiting with us and they took their sweet time bussing and setting the next tables for customers we probably...

Walking into this place, you can hear loud slurping and witness soup splashing from people's faces. This, gives you the urge to want to leave. However, do not leave. This place is good. Really good. The food is a 5 but the environment and cleanliness brings it down to a 4 overall. Definitely give it a try though.

I went on a Sunday and got there exactly at noon and there was already a line up before the restaurant even opened. I tried the beef brisket in beef soup and also the pork in pork bone soup. I would say the beef had more flavor as I found that the porn bone soup was rather bland. The meat was good and there were a lot of noodles, and I mean A LOT of noodles. I couldn't even finish a bowl by myself. As for the noodles itself, their are the hand cut which is like a linguine or the hand pulled which is a very thick ribbon noodle. I liked them both! I must compliment them on the purity of their soup broth, it stays true to the meat itself. They do not have a lot of additives and MSG in their soup which makes it quite tasty without leaving you thirsty. This is definitely worth a try!

Solid bowl of noodles. Had the hand cut noodle with beef and beef broth. Was SOLID, nice clean and simple broth. Nothing spectacular but for Edmonton pretty good. Noodles were like if fat rice noodle breed with lasgna. Service was TERRIBLE but thats what you expect from Asian restaurant
Noodle Feast: The Taste of Northern China has been open for three years. I know that over time, this blog has become an outlet for what’s new and exciting in Edmonton but really, it’s actually a space for me to write about what’s excites me the most. Noodles. Noodles pull my heart (or stomach?) strings. Always have and always will!

If you are looking for AUTHENTIC Chinese food this is the place to be. The noodles are delicious and the dumplings were so soft. If I lived closer I would be going weekly for sure!

Each time I walk into the small and cozy confines of Noodle Feast restaurant, I instantaneously feel a wave of nostalgia. This feeling doesn’t stem from own yearning of home, but rather, for the Northern Chinese who have come to settle in Canada. Within the restaurant there is chatter in fast paced mandarin, the lighting is dim and dark, the furniture dated and old, and there is the subtle sound of newspapers flipping by the single diner in the corner, but none of that will matter once you get a taste of what glorious noodles you will experience. Prior to entering the restaurant, you will mentally prepare yourself to eliminate any and all expectations pertaining to service and atmosphere. Do not expect a certain level of service, or service at all for that matter, and I don’t believe the owner has made an ounce of renovation effort since its previous occupant. What you can have high expectations for, is the food. You will notice the clientele is primarily Northern Chinese, you will notice there is very minimal conversation at each table, but what you will experience, is a gastronomic journey like no other, and you will know you have arrived at the right place.

Last week I had the chance to try my first Northern Chinese restaurant Noodle Feast, and I definitely was not disappointed. There’s not very many places (or any other places that I know of) where you can get really authentic Northern Chinese food. This places primarily focuses around three of their house-made noodles: Sliced noodles, rolled noodles, and hand-pulled noodles. Each of these three come with similar variation of sauces and meats. They also have a few other things like house-made pork-burger, dumplings, and rice.

We had to wait for about ½ hour (we got there at 12:20 on a Sunday so not the smartest time to arrive) but the wait was so worth it! I found the menu a bit challenging as it has limited details but what we ordered was fantastic. Best thing- the freshness of the noodles, worst thing- pork bun was small and unremarkable for $7.50 But overall- exceptionally delicious.

Great northern chinese food. Huge menu but a lot of the dishes are similar. Most of the dishes are thick noodles served with different toppings. There are three choices of noodles: sliced noodles, hand pulled noodles or rolling noodles, which vary in terms of thickness. Once you pick a noodle, you have a few options for toppings: minced pork sauce, egg, tomato sauce, beef, or a combination. Another highlight is the pancake with sour and spicy pork sauce. Steamed cold noodles are also good. My only criticism is it's a little pricey, although the portions are quite big.

We had the noodle with chilli oil and lamb soup. Very authentic dishes, great portions and reasonably priced! Would definitely come back and try other dishes :)

Ordered two dishes and both were excellent. You can for sure tell that the noodles are made fresh! Flavours are great however the dishes can be a little greasy. Go early because it gets busy fast around dinner. Will be back lots!

Best noodles ever!!!! Love their noodle with chili oil, it's the best noodle place in Edmonton! The wait time is a bit too long because of lack of staff and small area inside the restaurant! It's well worth the wait though!

Good noodles! Hand pulled noodles are my favorite (nice and thick). The rolling noodles are quite good too. Well made and consistent quality. Fairly quick service and reasonable prices. I like the noodles with the mince meat sauce but the soup noodles are decent too. The dumplings are pretty good as well. I believe they are boiled. One thing I did not particularly like was the pork bun. It was small for the amount you pay (about $7.50). The pork in the bun was a little dry and I found it generally a bit bland. Maybe it was meant to be eaten in concert with another dish. I don't know. Anyways good noodles and it's definitely a place you'd go to satisfy a carb craving. Good servers whom are soft spoken. Thumbs up.

Noodle Feast is a magnificent and authentic rendering of Northern Chinese cuisine. With authentic noodles, expertly crafted sauces and tasty appetizers, Noodle Feast becomes the obvious recommendation for anyone looking for authentic Northern Chinese food in Edmonton.

Awesome noodles!. Not much in the way of decor, service is so-so, and the menu is rather slim, but boy are the noodles good! The sliced beef in noodle soup is excellent. I will go back.

Most authentic chinese food I've had outside of China. These noodle dishes are exactly the same as what I had in China and just as good. I absolutely love this place.

This is a gem for sure, amazing authentic food and good prices. I went on a Sunday when it opened and there were people waiting for a table. Great place

Carb coma. Delicious noodles and dumplings. Will be back again soon!

Excellent Food!. Anything from the menu is amazing. We had the diced pancake in lamb stew, beef soup noodles and Chinese pork burger. You can't go wrong with any of those menu items!

TERRIBLE. Usually servers wait until the restaurant slows down to eat, but the only 2 servers were too busy stuffing their faces and on their phones to notice that they still had customers that needed attending to. They were slow to take orders and had a rude demeanour. Food tasted ok when we got it, but never coming back!

A very good restaurant, only one thing missing to making it a great restaurant.... The soup is delicious. The noodles are tasty but too plentiful. I suspect their dishes are supposed to be representative of northern China therefore there is hardly any meat in their dishes. Their dishes are definitely big portioned but they are grossly in need of more meat! if they increased their meat portion substantially then this would be a SUPERB restaurant.

Also don't go too late in the day because they tend to run out of food.

Otherwise the soups are excellent. The dumplings are delicious. The pancake house special is AMAZING. And an all around good menu.

Hearty & Tasty Chinese Hand-Pulled Noodles. We are always on the search for great noodle restaurants in Edmonton. This northern China inspired noodle restaurant will make a good addition to my husband and I's list of go-to noodle restaurants list.

The noodles are definitely hand pulled, they are not the prettiest looking hand-pulled noodles due to the varying wideness of them, however the texture and "chewiness" of the noodles is pretty good. There is A LOT of noodles in one bowl. We couldn't finish our own bowls and this means a lot because we can eat a lot!

The beef shank was a little tough and could have been stewed for longer. There are a handful of pieces, but not as generous a portion as the noodles.

The dumplings were delicious. A great tasting filling with a generous amount of filling in each dumpling.

The service is quick and prompt. Prices are very reasonable.

We definitely will be back!

Having never tried northern Chinese style cuisine, a trip to Noodle Feast was warranted, as per recommendation by Andrew Benson. The menu featured a wide variety of noodles, all made in house. Northern Chinese cuisines differentiates itself from other regional Chinese food, due largely in part to it’s heavy reliance on wheat based dishes since rice doesn’t grow very well in harsher climates. We ordered the hand pulled noodles with minced pork, the Chinese pork burger and a glass of sweet soy milk. The noodles were voluptuous and gelatinous, with a satisfying chewy texture that no rice noodle variant can possibly offer. The meat and sauce sat concentrated in one area. However, once mixed with the bok ch

with the ridiculously huge portion sizes here, if you don't leave in a carb food coma, you are seriously full of win lol! Noodle Feast focuses on making handmade traditional Northern China. Like Italians, the type, style of noodle and what you eat with noodles varies as you go across different regions of China. Noodle Feast highlights several Northern China varieties, so lets eat! The decor isn't much to write home about, but we're here for the food! I was planning to hit this place up again and try more items before posting, but the summer was so busy, I'm just going to add more pictures and comments later when we do have a chance to head back. We wanted to try more items, but with just the two of us, combined with huge huge huge portion sizes, we ordered enough for a family and didn't make
