Review Belgravia Hub - Edmonton

Stacey Herbrik
The food here is always tasty and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Today, however, I was very disappointed in my lunch. The dressing on my salad was delicious, lemon-dill, but for something advertised as a Summer Shrimp Salad, it should have more than 6 small shrimp on it, and for $18, it should DEFINITELY have more than 6 small shrimp on it.

It was so lovely to sit on the patio in this quiet neighborhood off whyte. It was especially exciting to be able to order a locally brewed non-alcoholic craft beer! Oh and the food was awesome, and very competitively priced. I do love a daily special! Service was personable, friendly and excellent! Kudos all round!

Belgravia Hub was a great find here in YEG! Firstly Georgia was an awesome server! She was so kind and thoughtful! The deep fried pickles were yummy, crisp and savoury! Italian sodas saved us from the summer heat. The teriyaki tofu was delicious! And the desserts were the best part! The lemon raspberry cake was sweet and rich and the chocolate almond skillet cookie was soft, warm and perfectly paired with ice cream! Going to be coming here a lot more!

Amazing delicious food, really cozy and wonderful staff. Great city gem, everything is freshly made from the ketchup to the jams, dressings and even the iced tea. ❤️ Perfect place to your date too.🥰

Went for happy hour. They had a limited selection of good craft beer for a great price. Tasty corn fritter deal too. Nice patio with comfy chairs

Nice little pub/restaurant in a quiet area off the beaten path. It would be really cool if they had more than 3 beers on tap. Server was friendly. I'll try some food next time.

Great menu items with quality ingredients and homey meals. Nice atmosphere and a lovely dog friendly patio in a beautiful neighbourhood. With a good drink menu too!

The spinach dip was fabulous, the glass of white wine was perfect, the service was wonderful, and the patio was exactly what I needed for a little time out from my day. This was my first time finding this spot purely by accident but I'll be back!

We happened to find it accidentally on Mother’s Day during brunch... one of the best breakfast s I’ve had that was gluten and dairy free.. when I asked about gf and dairy free the cook immediately came from the kitchen to see me telling me that they could alter most things on the menu to accommodate me...lots of good stuff on the menu. Bought a gift card for my daughter to try it...we’ll be back

Great food. We've pretty well tried everything on the menu. Never been disappointed. I love their salads. It gets very busy on Friday nights and the weekend. Call for reservations. We were there tonight and saw them turn away at least a dozen people over the hour.

If you haven't been here- you must! I went last night and they asked if we had a reservation and only had one table free so luckily we were able to grab it. The food was amazing. Every bit of it. So good we had an appetizer, drinks, main meal, and dessert. I loved it so much I would go back today.

Ended up here for lunch with my mom as I just moved into the area. What a great little restaurant! My mom had the mushroom melt and I had the blackened chicken sandwich. Both amazing! Also the homemade iced tea is so good. Great food, not expensive, and great friendly service. We will be back regularly!

Went for lunch and was pleasantly surprised! Their pesto chicken sandwich was delicious and their side salad is very good. I love the atmosphere and their sangria has a very original flavour. Will definitely be back!

Disappointed. We live I. The community, and decided to walk over for a nice dinner date night. Arrived at 635, and were told no tables without reservation. We could sit at the bar! There were three open tables, reserved for 7, so we we unable to sit at any of them. First and last attempt for me.

Wonderful food!. I have been to Belgravia Hub about 4 times for supper now, and each time has been excellent. Great food, wine, service and warm, welcoming atmosphere.

My one criticism is that they need to change their menu items more often (at least 1-2 items per menu section anyway)! Every time I have gone, the entrees have been the same. I really hope this place succeeds, but in order to draw customers back you need to keep it fresh with a seasonally changing menu!

Lunch and Dinner - Both Excellent in Every Way. My first visit was for lunch two weeks ago. I had the daily special of quiche and a fine salad, preceded by their not-to-be-beaten corn fritters. Décor, service, price, ticket times, and food quality were all top quartile.

Looking for confirmation, ten days later I accompanied a friend for dinner. We had their unique goat cheese bruschetta for our appetizer. He had a fine bison meat ball goulash and I had their sweet pea gnocchi. (I have to try every one's gnocchi). Both of our entrees were excellent. Mine is right up there with the best gnocchi ever. Having saved room for dessert I had their fine bread pudding. Again, everything about this dining experience was first rate. I definitely recommend the Hub.

Belgravia Hub....what a treasure of a restaurant to find!. Four friends went to dinner last nite on the suggestion of one the couples. What an incredible dinner, wine & dessert! Lovely menu...not very large which I prefer! The choices will suit everyone! I have suggested to friends coming in from Calgary over the holidays to eat at Belgravia Hub!! Can't wait for summer when the windows facing west all open to let in the fresh air & sunshine!!

The Wild HInterland. I have lived in McKernan most of my life and remember going to rent movies and buy used books as a kid at the location of the Belgravia Hub. I'd take that junky video rental over this new resto any day. Not only did the waitress forget our order the minute we gave it to her, but nearly an hour later when the food came out, we were were still waiting to receive our cutlery. Forcing a smile to smooth her error over, the waitress asked if she could pepper our food. Upon asking her to leave the pepper on the table that there was only one pepper-grinder in the place and that it cannot be given to anybody because it was outside of protocol. Seriously? This reflects one of two things. Either the head-chef is so arrogant that they do not believe in allowing patrons to season their own food or they cannot afford to buy an additional set. At $20 a pop for main plates, I doubt the latter is their problem. We'd ordered schnitzel and blackened chicken. The chicken was so burnt and dry that the chef tried to hide it under grated coleslaw while the schnitzel would better be described as a poorly battered pork chop served with microwaved cabbage that had been pulled out of a jar and had not yet been drained! It's so hard to support local business in the community when their business models disrespect and deceive and the customers : (

New Favourite Edmonton Restaurant. I can't believe I waited so long to try this place out! We went into it expecting to leave conquering a three course meal. Sadly, after the first two meals, we were too full to even think about dessert!

I started with the famous corn fritters and I wasn't disappointed! These weren't the heavy/greasy fritters I was used to. They had a nice coating with a fluffy inside. The taste was amazing too. They were served with two dipping sauces. A smoked ketchup (yum!) and a homemade strawberry jam. I ended up using the jam more. I was almost like Joey from Friends when it came down to the bottom of the jam saucer.

Once I finished the fritters, I ordered the turkey meatloaf sammie with a side of shoestring fries. Initially I was worried that it would be served on bread that would tear my mouth apart (like most sammies do) but the foccasia bread was wonderfully light and full of flavor. The BBQ sauce on the meatloaf was perfect too!

Two for two! Sadly, like I stated before, we were too full for dessert - The menu looked amazing though. From what we saw from other tables, we should have paced ourselves and saved room. At least it'll give me an excuse to come back sooner than later.

Beers were cheap too! Priced at a reasonable $5 and $6, as opposed to the regular pretentious prices I'm getting used to seeing everywhere else.

Thank you Chef Sarah and company for the awesome experience. We will definitely be back again and again! Keep up the great work!

Worth a try. I love this new little loco restaurant, it has a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. The menu is small but all the options are appealing the wine/cocktail menu make up for it. The service was pretty good and food was flavourful to the last bite.
I'll be going again!

Not Good. The atmosphere is nice and has a great flow through feeling with the open windows. However, the positives end there. The server was cold and the service was slow. I had the flank steak, which was overdone and my girlfriend had the stuffed portobello mushroom, which was cold and not well seasoned. The portions are small and overpriced and you will likely leave hungry.

First time visitor. Nice place. Staff not friendly We shared the garlic shrimp and they were excellent the flank steak was a watery stew. The salmon was overdone and dry. We ordered tea with our dessert and it a breakfast tea with some type of aroma. If you do go and there is only two, do not let them seat you at the tables for two. All the traffic has to squeeze by you.

Fair-ish... Music too loud, we had to ask them to turn it down. The server gladly did this.Found the menu to have a winterish feel given we are still in the heat of summer.
Server pleasant. We only had main courses. I had flank steak with dijon potatoes. It was quite tastless and came with a sort of broth..overall flavour was grainy mustard and pepper, unpleasant and uninspired. Couldn't decide if was it a stir fry or a stew.
Husband had blackened chicken..nice and moist, with leek mash..too runny.. and coleslaw on top. the cole slaw seemed a very odd and incongruent accompaniment. Overall, did not care for the food..odd flavours and textures.
Very nice space and would love to see a neighbourhood restaurant thrive. Will try again but hope they get their act together with the menu and get a grasp on combining flavours and textures.

Wasn't blown away but will give it another try in a couple of months. Staff was very blasé. Menu very limited. Food came out somewhat cold. No personality or character. Menus were crumpled and food stained. Best thing about it was the open windows.

Fantastic! A simple yet creative menu that is accentuated by a very good selection of wine. Everything is expertly prepared (from scratch) by the chef with utmost care. The service is second to none. The price is very reasonable. Highly recommended.

My favorite out of the Three Boars, Bothy, etc... as good as The Common overall :). I love this place. I dressed like crap (shorts/t-shirt) this one Friday evening and they STILL let me in. Everyone was dressed well in there for some reason (older crowd). No attire discrimination - check. Great service from the time I stepped into the restaurant.

The menu was small but it had enough to fulfill my evening's foodie desires. I picked off all of the appetizer I wanted this time and will go back for entrees next time around. They got locally brewed beer offerings like Alley Kat, which is nice.

I had the second best fries of my life (first being garlic fries in Palomino in Calgary).

The lamb meatballs were perfectly seasoned and the tomato sauce was not overwhelming. It was just tangy enough to be welcoming and hearty.

The short rib sliders were OK. I wish the buns were more toasted or warmer/softer, but I still tasted the yummy short ribs inside along with some coleslaw salad embedded in-between.

The shrimp bruschetta doesn't taste like your ordinary bruschetta at other restaurants. The corn and the green onion in the sauce made it taste more oriental and fusion-like which is cool. I had some huge tiger prawns on the toast. The bread wasn't that memorable but it was down-to-earth.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay here as it is nicely tucked in just 1 block west of the Belgravia/McKernan station. It was a nice neighborhood and there was a sense of serenity dining there.

Awesome. This restaurant has beautiful decor, friendly and helpful staff, and delicious food. A hit resturant and I will be returning!

Good pricing & nice modern-looking decor. Wasn't sure what to expect setting an early Sat. reservation at a new restaurant, but the place was busy and had a good vibe. Will return for seconds!

Hitting the ground running!. Belgravia Hub has been open for little more than a week, but the front of house and kitchen already feel like a well-tuned machine. Menu is concise and clever: starters, salads and mains, all contained within one page.

For starters, short rib sliders are a miniature explosion of flavour, veggie flatbread is laced with fresh pesto and goat cheese, and shrimp bruschetta is spicy and sweet (but could use a few more slices of bread).

Mushroom risotto is jam-packed with loads of toothsome fungi, and anointed with a piquant balsamic drizzle. Who'd have thought? It's a rave-worthy combination. Beef Short Rib is scrumptiously fork-tender and rests atop a small hill of potato-leek mash.

For dessert, cornmeal berry cake is superbly moist and goes well with a cappuccino.

Belgravia Hub is a few blocks from another recently-opened southside winner: Enzo's. At this rate, 76 Ave will be a fine dining destination.
E-Town, It's Me Again!
Only less than a month old, Belgravia Hub is located just a 2 minute walk west from the McKernan/Belgravia LRT station. It's a small contemporary fixture with locally created flavours, somewhat on the fine dining end, without the fine dining prices. Although the menu (at least for now) is a bit limited, there is enough diversity in the menu for a lovely dinner. An ideal atmosphere for a nice date with your significant other *wink wink nudge nudge*

After our dessert, Executive Chef Sarah, who stopped by our table later on that evening, was kind enough to explain the concept behind the restaurant and the menu. Belgravia Hub sprung from the vision of four chefs, including Owner and Chef Leslie, Executive Chef Sarah, and two other Edmonton Chefs. Executive Chef Sarah, who is the only one from outside of Edmonton (her roots being in Peterborough, ON - just outside of Toronto), said the focus of their menu is seasonal rather than local. Each of the Chefs bring something special to the table, said Chef Sarah, and they work as a team to create and build on each other's inspired dishes. For example, the Bourbon Pecan Pie we tried tonight came from Chef Leslie's repertoire of dishes while Chef Sarah focused on some of the appetizers we perused on the menu. Together, their aim is the bring the freshest ingredients to their menu at the best price for their customers and to create the most enjoyable dishes of each meal. As such, their menu w

Won’t be disappointed in this neighborhood’s foodie gem where its evident the chefs and staff are passionate about making Belgravia Hub a restaurant to stay a long long time.

Belgravia Hub has been open for little more than a week and already operates like a finely-calibrated, sinuous machine. A blues-tinged soundtrack (that will later segue into John Lennon and The Doors) lolls about in a room dressed in metal and wood. A one page menu features "Beginnings," "Get Fresh," and "Fill Up." Translation: starters, salads, and mains. For starters, flatbread with goat cheese and veggies is graced with tangy pesto and crowned with little clouds of cheese, roasted morsels of peppers and mushrooms, and gently topped with a small handful of fresh greens. Shrimp Bruschetta pops with the eponymous pink crustaceans, counterbalanced by coins of spicy sausage. Sweet corn
