Have been to this IHOP some weeks back with friends. The place looks bright, well decorated. We ordered egg Tuscany, French toast with strawberries and banana, and crepe. The food was good, although there were some issues with my friend who ordered crepes and the server got him a different crepe. However the price was also reasonable considering the amount of food they serve. It was quite filling and an amazing brunch joint. And yeah, we got some free pancakes because of some offer going on there.

As a rule I avoid chain restaurants and franchises, preferring go explore locally own businesses. However after years since my last visit I had an inexplicable desire to eat breakfast at IHOP. Today is my second visit in as many weeks. First I was surprised at the friendly service. The waitress was very attentive and even seemed to enjoy her work (it was the same person both times) . The food was far from original but it was properly made. My over-easy eggs were cooked just right at both visits. The waitress leaves the coffee pot on each table so there is no waiting for refills. The coffee was definitely the type you'd expect at a fast food restaurant but I've had much worse so it was okay. The prices were very good.. My order was sausage and eggs. It pains me to admit that I enjoyed it. I will still search for a local restaurant before coming to any chain, but for larger groups that a nice bistro can't handle, IHOP is a worthy alternative. At least this IHOP on Gateway Blvd is worth another visit sometime. The photo is not of my sausage and eggs but rather a chocolate pancake my son ordered. Okay I tasted it but I'm old enough to the difference between a meal and a dessert.
This was a super busy location in Edmonton. About a 15- minute wait for a table but no prob as they brought coffee around. Wait staff were all well trained and super friendly. Food was out fast and was really good. Would recommend if you are not in a hurry.
We went to IHOP for brunch and enjoyed our meal. We tried the philly cheese steak and spicy chicken ranch burger. The French vanilla coffee came with free refills.
My husband and I don't have a consensus on this. I want to give it a 4 and he wants to give it a 3. I love the variety, and the food/service is always consistent. He pointed out that it's because it's a chain... and he doesn't like the line. But in my opinion. The line is not too bad. I've watched the operation and I think it's running as efficiently as it possibly can. Good job!
Pretty far location for me, but I was meeting up a few friends for breakfast. The wait was about 30 minutes long as we got there during the morning rush. It is a decent place for some good breafast food. Service/server was pretty fast and friendly. Our food took some time to come out, but the place was so busy so I totally understand. I was pretty full after my meal and left happy! This location is pretty much on par with the location on the Northend. I usually go to the Northend as I live in the area.
Had very wonderful service today!! We had a large party with kids and babies- and not one issue! Food was great tasting, hot and fast! Server was very friendly and helpful! Definitely would recommend!
I have gone to this place many times and out of all the times only 2 times did I receive horrible service 1 time it was a visible trainee and the other time it might have been too busy for the amount of staff, other than that the food is good and the price is pretty fair, I would be coming back to this place again.

I took my mom here for brunch last Sunday after the staff and the restaurant at koutouki south ruined my mothers appetite and mood. The New York style cheesecake pancakes seemed to have washed everything away. The food was extremely good and one of the hosts particularly stood out , I believe his name was Chaise.

Well worth the wait! I love ihop, usually it's a half hour or less when I go. Good portion sizes and great prices! The food is amazing.
Had to try the red velvet pancakes... Pretty awesome although didn't finish them all (too sweet and was already full). Bacon eggs hash browns and coffee were all good. Service was alright for it being very busy. Will be back!
Favourite Breakfast Place in E-Town (Besides McDonalds). Yeah this place is legit man. The hype was worth it. The pancakes are soft and fluffy. Everything tasted fresh and I thoroughly enjoyed the coffee they served. You gotta wait 10 - 20 minutes every time you go but it's worth it. I hate conforming to the norm and this is just like the Avengers of hyped up movies. Worth a visit. Much better than Denny's. Makes you feel like you are in the US and A :)
Big menu!. We ordered the new pancake that they have its RED VELVET pancake and it was SOOOOO GOOD!!!. I also ordered Spinach and mushroom omelet its just the omelet was a little bit oily and greasy but taste good. I also ordered International crepe im just surprised that the crepe comes out in a very small portion. Our server was really friendly Im already expecting a line up with this place. I still love going into this place cause they have a big selection for pancake , waffles, crepes and french toast which i loved!..

Go early to avoid wait times, OK at best. I had a service appt. at koch ford at the asscrack of dawn on saturday (8am) and they told me that my car would be done around 11am. Since I wasn't going to sit in a waiting room chair for 3 hours, I decided to grab a bite to eat. I arrived at around 8:40am and was seated quickly in a nice booth despite being just one person. The server (Amber) came promptly and took my beverage order. I started out with an OJ and a water. She mistakenly poured me a coffee, and I was like uhhh I actually asked for a water. No big deal, she quickly grabbed my water and took my order. I wasn't that hungry so instead of ordering their unlimited pancake combo, I just ordered a pancake breakfast combo with eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, and pancakes your style (I opted for strawberry banana). I honestly have to say, the sausages were puny, the two links combined to form MAYBE a regular sized link. Eggs and hashbrown were okay, and pancakes were decent, nice and fluffy. I would've sat longer and killed more time if I could, but I saw a bunch of people waiting so I decided not to stay. The server was nice and asked about my meal several times so I gave her a $5 tip even though my breakfast was only around $14. Overall, I would return if I was in the area, but probably wouldn't purposely go out of my way just to go there.
Clean and tasty. My son loves breakfast food so we wanted to take him out for exactly that for his birthday supper. I didn't want to go to Humpty's, Denny's, Smitty's or Albert's so we tried the IHOP on Calgary Trail. It was JUST what I was looking for: clean and new, with tasty food and an excellent waitress as a bonus.
Excellent!. Went to IHOP this afternoon, and we were very impressed! We were seated right away and had prompt and very friendly service throughout our time there. Food was warm, tasty and just plain excellent, oh, and not to mention cheap! The place was clean and everything seemed to be in order. We will definitely be recommending IHOP to everyone we know!

Very busy as with any other breakfast joint here. I thought it was okay, I got the pancake combo with blueberry pancakes but didn't finish them, something odd about them. But then again I was never a pancake fan. Good eggs and hashbrowns but those taste the same everywhere lol. Definitely going back to try the other stuff on the menu.
First time at the ihop in Edmonton, was only a 10 min wait. Food was fast and hot. Server Jen was great, super friendly. Will be back!

Good Food. I've gone to the IHOP a few times now and each time has been a great experience. Yes the time is long to wait but really it's a new restaurant so everyone wants to go, and if it's busy then obviously it has to be a good place to go if people are waiting that long to get in. The wait sucks yes, but once your sitted and your server comes they are so nice and delightful and cheerful! The food has been great every time we've gone. I've gone with friends, family and co workers. We have always enjoyed our experience there. If you can get past the long wait it's great!
What a treat!. My friends and I popped into IHOP for our annual Christmas celebration. We were also celebrating two birthdays.
We were all quite excited to be there.
Our server was very nice and eager to please.
I had the Chocolate chip pancakes and loved them!
A staff member was walking by and saw we were exchanging gifts and asked who's birthday it was. We pointed to our two friends and he wished them a happy birthday. About 10 minutes later a parade of waiters and waitresses came to our table to wish our friends Happy birthday in song. It was delightful.

Great. Went tonight on the 17th of Jan. Serveice was great, fast, friendly, helpful and teh food was excellent. No problems at all.
We went this evening (Saturday between 9 and 10). The service was awesome (thank you heather). We ordered an appetizer sampler to start. It was OK but nothing special. The marinara was like tomato paste and not very good. The omlettes were fairly good and the pancakes were amazing. I will definitely go again.

Alright.... I was pretty excited for my first IHOP experience EVER. I heard a lot about the restaurant from numerous different friends and finally got the chance to go check it out with a few friends on Wednesday January 12th. It wasn't that bad of a wait. Probably around a maximum of 25 minutes (not bad compared to how long others had to wait.) Upon my entrance I couldn't help but notice how some servers were hanging around talking to each other and how other servers were walking around at a fast pace and with a sense of urgency. We were seated by an elderly hostess and minutes later we were greeted by this big, almost intimidating server with a muscular build. Despite his build, he was extremely friendly and sincere. We all felt very comfortable engaging a conversation with him when he had the time while we waited for our food. It was about a half hour wait for our food, but he made it seem like no time at all. He got us refills when we needed them, checked up on us regularly to see how we were doing (even though it looked like at times he was very busy) and was always there for us whenever we needed anything. When the food finally came out, it was cold and seemed like it has been sitting somewhere for a while. About 2 minutes after the food was served, our server came over to see how we were doing and how the food was, we told him what we thought and he was very apologetic and took our plates back, replacing them with fresh ones that were much much better almost instantly. I have been to many restaurants before, and I think it would be safe to say that the service was absolutely phenomenal. A lot better than the food. That being said, the food wasn't bad at all the second time around. So when you go to IHOP, make sure you scope out that big, built server. He might look intimidating at first, but he sure knows what he is doing and how to put a smile on your face!
It is definitely one of my main choices for brunch because they cover all the basics and then add variety seasonally. Plus it helps that I am a complete pancake person for breakfast.
