Stayed at the Delta last night, room was great. Ordered breakfast for this morning and it was So bad and looked just horrible. Only ate the fruit that was on the side. Expected so much better..

Food was great but service could be improved. Takes a while to get the food out of the kitchen.

Although the food was fine the service requires significant improvement. We had to wait for over 2.5 hours for our meal to come and when it came, there were errors in the order and though we were told that it would only take 15-20 minutes after ordering for everyone’s meals to come there were about 4 people in our group that did not receive their food until the end of the meal. The servers did apologize, but it was still frustrating to not have promised delivered on. (two stars) Addendum: those that had errors on their meals or waited for long had their meal on the house (three)

I attended Delta's Christmas Eve Buffet with family. We found that most of the food items were quite tasty, however the temperature settings on some food items were below acceptable standards. As only one example, the turkey gravy was barely lukewarm by the time I returned to our assigned table. There were other food items which could have been warmer. As we all know, this can pose as a health risk especially with meat products. Dessert selection was great!

Service was average. Got charged 5$ for add on sausage which were very under portioned. There was 2 sausages that were a couple inches long. We did also get charged for splitting a dish into 2 plates which is a first, and I split dishes quiet often. It seemed like the restaurant priorities were $ & food cost vs guest experience. I felt bad for the server as most of these concerns are out of their control.

Went to 4404 for lunch today! We had the Root Salad and the Guinness Onion Soup and both were very good! The food came quickly and the service was good. My only complaint was how long it took for the waiter to grab our bowls when we were finished and bring the bill! Other than that it was good! We will be back!

I have had business breakfasts and lunches at this restaurant (and its predecessors at this location) for 20 years because it remains the perfect place for them. The setting is conducive for serious conversation. The food is always good, and the service is always professional and unobtrusive. Just make sure you leave a little early because their parking lots are often quite full.

To this day... I'm still waiting for my server to show up. Mom wanted to try something different for her birthday. Having worked at Delta Hotels I thought I would try this place out. The individuals who apparently work here are more interested in flipping the tables for breakfast then actually providing dinner service. No one came after we were sit down. I left after 15 minutes. The restaurant wasn't even busy.

Booked a reservation for Mothers Day brunch 2017.  Upon arriving at the hotel the lobby was full of people.  No staff at the entrance way to ask directions or questions.  Finally made it to the hotel receptionist desk and asked where to go where we were courteously informed.  People waiting to dine were lined up against the wall while others getting their food were walking by and criss-crossing the aisle to get back to their tables.  Food was in a side section off the hallway and diners getting their food or having filed their plates had to pass the line-up.  It was so cramped.  Staff moving trays and dinnerware had to use this same aisle-way.  At one point I was bumped in the rear end by a tray of glassware that nearly sent me flying; however, finally got seated.  Many staff are hard to understand as clearly English is not their first language.  Food was okay but nothing special or exceptional.  Seems to be a lack of organization and for a large major hotel such as this I simply expect less chaos.  For the price of $120.00 for 2 I expect less disruption and much smoother sailing.  Would I recommend this place to others?  NO.  Would I return? No.

Wanted to try this out since it just opened up near our place. Our breakfast orders came out wrong 3 times. Had to flag down waiter to pay our bill and there was no discount.

Really fantastic service. Super friendly waiters and really neat decor. Good prices for the quality and amount of food you get. We split two meals and they were nice enough to split them for us in the kitchen it was great ! The meat was very tender. The gnocchi was more like fried potatoe but still good flavor.

Love Sunday brunch. Staff are fabulous this morning, tables are clean, coffee pots are filled, special requests are filled promptly and smiling faces throughout our visit. Brunch has so many choices for us to pick from and displayed beautifully. Eggs Benedict, waffles, custom omelets, shrimp, crab legs, salads, chocolate fountain, bacon, sausages, cheeses, juices, fresh made smoothies and more. <br/>Great value, fresh flavors, tones of choices and customer service. We will be back.

A hotel restaraunt that's a small cut above similar offerings. Trying to be trendy. Clean & modern. Have partaken in both their "famous" brunch buffet, and a Valentines dinner.<br/>Food was respectable. Prices comparable. Service solid.<br/>In a city with so much to offer however, for us, 4404 has probably recieved all the buisness it can from us. Still so many other unique place to try.

So me, the self proclaimed anti-buffet person was excited about going to the Sunday Brunch Buffet at 4404.  I read that they have all you can eat King Crab on the buffet and all for $24.95!  So I gathered some friends and my family and we made plans to take a friend this Sunday for her birthday.  We were so excited about the prospect of all you can eat King Crab Legs that we started joking around the day before and counting down the hours until the King Crab buffet with my husband joking that I would probably wake him up in the middle of the night to tell him "six hours to the King Crab Legs buffet".Well, clearly I overestimated the whole experience.  We arrived, were seated, visited a bit and then went and saw the buffet.  I first headed to the crab and boy what a let down!  There was no big, overflowing plate of King Crab Legs  There was a platter of meager amounts of unimpressive snow crab legs.  Disappointment.  I was pretty sure that there was sushi on the buffet - but no, so my son was disappointed.  And the rest of the buffet was pretty standard fare buffet stuff - drying out in heating plates - the reason I don't like buffets.  Well, that's not entirely fair - the bacon was excellent!  It was maple bacon and is there really a bad bacon?  The apple crisp for dessert was also excellent.  But Philly took some great pics so I'll let those do the talking.

A bit of a surprise for a hotel restaurant.  Good breakfast and breakfast buffet.  They don't have a ton of room so it is not the most comprehensive buffet but it covers the basics well and there is enough selection you can find something you like.<br/>Menu items are really tasty.  Food is made fresh and is well prepared. Service is quick and friendly.

Had dinner here with a colleague. Lacked a bit of atmosphere but that was made up by the great steaks we both had. <br/>Service was great!

Breakfast buffet was awesome! They made us custom eggs at no extra cost. Coffee and juice are included and kids under 6 eat free. We'll eat here again and again. Amazing! Wonderful service and personable staff. What a great atmosphere and delicious food!!

Felt like a soft opening. As far as I know, the restaurant ISN'T new, but it felt like the place was just starting its operations. A bare, drab decor and lots of empty tables should have served as a warning sign when our group of 6 came in but we decided to stick it out.<br/>Overall, it wasn't a disaster of a meal but it definitely sticks out as a "poor" dining experience. Our server was extremely inattentive and never took drink orders and we were stuck with water until I flagged down another lady who worked there and asked for a drink menu. Upon asking for the bill, we asked for it to be split 3 ways (as there were 3 couples) and of course, it came all lumped together. So that was a 2nd trip to find a staff which strangely seemed non-existent but very busy whenever we did see them despite it being nearly empty in the restaurant.<br/><br/>As for the food itself? It was fine. I had mushroom ravioli, which did taste nice but it wasn't anything that I couldn't have made myself, and I don't consider myself to be any sort of master chef. Another person we were eating with had ribs and he couldn't stop raving about them for the entire night so those must have been pretty nice.<br/>After we finished eating, the chef came out to ask about our meals, which I believe was a nice touch. He asked if there was much of a wait (there was) and he apologized as he had a couple of tables come in at the same time. The restaurant was nearly empty for the entire duration of our meal, so I'm not sure how he managed to cope when the its actually full. Anyways, over an hour for a wait time is simply too long and the price tag of $90 (including tip) for 2 people to eat and drink waters is too much for what is actually given.<br/><br/>Overall, I won't be back. Not sure why this place has an 88% rating. Hopefully I just got them on a bad night, but it was bad enough to make me want to skip this place in the future.

Christmas dinner buffet was total chaos. We were a party of 8 ( 5 adults, 2 seniors and a 4 yr old) that had booked for the Christmas dinner buffet. We have dined out for the last 12 years for Christmas , many times at the Mayfield Inn, the Westin Inn and most recently the River Cree . All have been enjoyable dinners. We chose to try the 4404 as the dinner times worked better this year and its good to try different places. Upon entering the restaurant from the outside I immediately questioned my choice based on appearance of restaurant, there was very little decor to suggest this was a special occasion, pretty much looked like a hotel restaurant with a few glass bulbs and candy canes on table. We were seated at our table, the waiter acknowledged how many in party for billing, took our beverage order and invited us to the buffet. This is where things really went downhill. The buffet sits in a small alcove off to the side of the restaurant, very little room to move. We had to line up against the wall leading out into the lobby of hotel, where we stood for at least 15 mins or longer waiting to go through the buffet line. There were people crossing in front of you to get out of the buffet with their food , there were servers coming from all entrances with drink order etc, there was kitchen staff coming out to fill stations, there were people standing around to be seated, people coming in one entrance to access the lobby etc. And you stood there, and moved one direction and then another etc. The salad was at beginning of the buffet, the fruit, cheese etc were at end of buffet and dessert table was over by the till where people were waiting to pay or be seated. So if you wanted salad you stood in line with everyone else and then would have to stand in line again for main coarse. Of coarse after everyone had stood in line for that length of time , they were not interested in making the extra trip, most people, as did everyone in our party grabbed two plates and tried to manouver their way through the whole buffet. By the time we sat down after getting our food, most of it was cold. The 2 seniors that were with us were 83 and 85 and had to stand that amount of time and I had to hang onto my 4 yr old granddaughter so she would not be jostled around by all the commotion. We had one party member brave enough to try the line again for seconds, he stood another 15 mins plus, we had already finished our dessert and our waiter being so efficient had already brought us our bill before he was able to join us again. When we were ready to pay, we noticed an error on the bill, we were charged for 6 adults and 2 seniors, we pointed this out to the waiter who quickly apoligized and corrected the bill, although he still charged us the gratuity based on 8 when the child was free. We questioned the oversight again, which he corrected but not quite so apologetic this time. I would never normally question something so trivial as to the extra gratuity, as these people are working on their Christmas to serve us, but by this point we were so disappointed with the dining experience as a whole ,I was not prepared to pay anymore than I had to. I cannot comment on how this restaurant is on a day to day basis, and I do not care to find out, I would never recommend dining here to anyone. They certainly need to do some improving when hosting a larger function. A simple change in how their buffet is set up would do wonders.

Made a reservation, but table was not available. My wife and I were going out to celebrate an anniversary and were looking forward to trying this restaurant after checking out the the menu online. Made a reservation at 6:00 pm on a Saturday night. When we arrived, the host went to see if a table was available and came back to inform us that there was a large party that arrived and the main dining room was full. However, there was a private room available where we could be seated. We thought it would be perfect, but once we were seated it felt a bit uncomfortable being in that room. It had a larger table that was probably meant for a party of 4 - 6. With just the two of us in there, it was eerily quiet and we felt somewhat isolated. The server that arrived seemed very pleasant, but we decided it wouldn't be an enjoyable dining experience and left. We will probably return in the future, but hope that by making a reservation it actually means there is a table available for us when we arrive.

Classy, fine dining with friendly, attentive service.. We decided to try the breakfast at the 4404 Restaurant. I had the steak and eggs, my wife had the Cattleman's Roundup. We liked it so much, we decided to have breakfast there again the next day. Prices are a little higher, but the food was great and I didn't regret it. We did not try the breakfast buffet.

Excellent Service With a Smile. Went for lunch with my colleagues, the hostess was a lovely lady by the name of Irene, who actually ended up being our server. She was quirky and pleasant, the food delicious. I recommend her outstanding service and professionalism to all.

The room is modern and classy. The service polite and fast.<br/><br/>While the selection is a bit on the small side, everything is fresh and tasty. The coffee is very good, this is important.<br/><br/>A great formal weekday brunch. Good for a business meeting wrap up. The tables are big, well spaced apart and they don't mind if you stick around to chew the fat. I always tip extra if I stay after the meal is done.

What a treat!. I recently had the pleasure of dining in 4404 Restaurant and was pleasantly surprised at the experience. If you are looking for a great experience do not look passed this diamond in the rough.<br/><br/>Great menu selection with exceptional service. Prices are not cheap but I assure you, you get what you pay for and it will not dissapoint.<br/><br/>Try their steaks, delicious. Also a strong wine list that will keep you thirsty for more. Who knew this was a hotel restuarant? Had the pleasure of having both dinner and breakfast on two seperate occasions and their buffet is quite exceptional with many unique offerings. Well done 4404.

Highway robbery / Disappointing Sunday brunch. Today I stoped to have brunch here again, in a recent years we eat there many times and for $25/person was a fair deal, nothing spectacular but today the bill was $36 + 17% mandantory tip, c'mon for a self service!<br/>it's a very bad joke but I am not laughing

Typical hotel restaurant. Buffet was was not hot, most of the breakfast items were pre made. Not worth the price. On the plus side bacon was ok.

Suprisingly good for a hotel restaurant. This place consistently has good food! Fresh and creative, I make a point of stopping in here for lunch if I'm in the area.

Uncharacteristically disappointed. We went for valentine's day and were told that the small menu with three entrees as well as soup/salad and dessert was the only option for ordering. We ordered the prime rib and the salmon which were both great. One of the guests at our table had an allergy that we worked around and it would have been nice to have more selection. The table next to us ordered the surf and turf and butter chicken as well as other options. They were not able to clarify for me why others were able to have a greater selection. The steps were icy on the way out and a couple of us grabbed the hand rail to support our walk down. To our surprise it moved by easily 3-4 inches which was unexpected. An older person with a cane behind us almost fell. I have been going there for years for breakfasts and brunch. This, however, was uncharacteristically a disappointment.

Great Sunday brunch. Sunday brunch is always great in this place. Great food and great service

Great food and presentation. Enjoyed a very good business dinner in January of 2014 at 4404. We were staying at the Delta and decided to stay for dinner because a member of our group had nice things to say about 4404.<br/><br/>Everyone at the table enjoyed the food and the great food presentation. I had the scallops and the rib-eye. Both were excellent. Many people enjoyed the artisan salad. The restaurant had a $44.04 3-course meal option as well. Ordering that option was good value and several of us did.<br/><br/>The wine menu is small, but has a good variety and some nice selections. <br/><br/>The consensus at the table was 4404 Restaurant is one of the better hotel restaurants most of us have dined at. We will happily be back.

Excellent steak and friendly, attentive service. Yes, it's in a hotel (The Delta), but it's worth a visit and DEFINITELY worth the walk from any of the surrounding hotels.

Excellent service! Everyone was super attentive, and the food was amazing! Especially the fresh dinner rolls!

Fantastic Artisan salad! Soups to die fot!

Good breakfast buffet. I stayed at the Delta, and had the breakfast buffet at 4404. Good variety. I could have made my entire breakfast on just the fruit selections. I don't know that I would go out of my way to come here for breakfast, but if you are staying at the Delta, I would recommend it.

Came here for dinner with friends on a Friday night. It was awesome! Not busy which was surprising. Food was top notch. Cooked perfectly, tons of flavor. Beautiful presentation. Huge delicious desserts. Only down side was $11.50 for a Long Island ice tea? CRAZY since only 1 oz of liquor in it. We will definitely be back. Again and again.

Mediocre Brunch. Not the best brunch buffet I've been to. I mean, the service was good; they were quick to seat us and the fellow who took care of drinks was great. The place is really nice. The food however, was just okay at best.<br/><br/>A reasonable number of options are presented but despite us being there an hour into opening and the place being packed, the food was stale, over cooked, and bland. Even the breakfast sausages were all wrong (short little farmer style with way too much texture). The eggs bene couldn't be hacked through as the muffin was more akin to cement. When a fresh tray came out I thought "Aha!"... and was met with the same disappointment of food I couldn't eat. The bacon was overcooked and greasy and the fruit was under ripe. The carvery had only roast beef, which is fine, but the meat was so dry and over cooked it had a grainy, almost gritty texture. <br/><br/>Everything just seemed, off. At $25 a plate, I really can't see myself going back.

Brunch was good. Recently went for Sunday Brunch here and I must say it was delicious. The selection might be smaller but the food quality is top notch.<br/><br/>The only problem is that we sat down for five minutes before a waitress came to our table and it was not busy. This can easily be fixed by management by having a buser instead of using serving staff to take away dirty plates from other tables.
Kris Benson
Mediocre. Went for Sunday brunch. The brunch buffet was well-stocked and had some great selections, but also some let-downs.<br/><br/>For example, their website promises a "chef-attended omelette station" -- there was no such thing.<br/><br/>When it came to service, the only word that works is *SLOW*. When seated, it took a good 5-10 minutes before the waitress came by to ask about drinks and invite us to head to the buffet. During the meal (about an hour), we were checked on twice and the waitress wasn't even hanging around in the area so we could ask for service (like an ice water).<br/><br/>This is certainly NOT the high-end restaurant I expected from reviews and advertising. It's barely a step above your typical diner... except for the prices.<br/><br/>Given the meal and the price, I'd head to Cora any day, rather than pay the exorbitant prices at 4404.

We went here for Sunday brunch this past weekend & really enjoyed it. The food was delicious & beautifully presented & the staff were great! On our favorites list now!

Top service, low price. Best value in Edmonton. I'd recommend to anyone who enjoys a great meal with proper service for a great price.

Best burger in Edmonton. Everything I tried tastes great. The Apple cedar burger is for my taste the best burger in Edmonton. Montreal and steak sandwiches are extraordinary good as well. Wild mushroom soup too.<br/><br/>Overall, very good food, super clean place, pleasant stuff. Not too busy. One of the best places for business lunch or quit dinner.
Toni
AMAZING. I don't know why this place is dead at 4:00 on a Saturday but it definitely shouldn't be!! So happy with our food, for sure going to come back again :)

Great for breakfast. Lots of seating and healthy menu.

An Amazing Treat!. 4404 was an amazing treat after traveling across Canada with my fiancée and staying at various hotels along the way and trying so many different menus. This restaurant maybe attached to the Delta Hotel but don't let it fool you for just another Hotel Restaurant. The Restaurant itself was warm and inviting and looked as it was recently redone. Service was great and the food was wonderful! Will be defiantly stopping back in on our Road Trip back across Canada!

Excellent dinner, interesting new menu. I chose this restaurant because it is right here at the Delta Edmonton South where I'm staying, but I would definitely return here if I lived in Edmonton or was staying at another hotel.<br/><br/>Room service dinner (Fillet of sole and chips) was a very good deal, good but nothing special. Breakfast buffet had good selection too, Starbucks coffee, good but nothing special.<br/><br/>But tonight's dinner was excellent. I found out it was a new menu (1 week old) and don't know what was on the old menu, but the new one has a lot of variety, a lot of interest, and several wild game options. I was tempted by the arctic char entree, but ended up going with red meat. Wild Elk Loin Goulash with vegetables and a blueberry dumpling -- the elk was remarkably tender and not at all gamey, and the dumpling was beautiful. Artisan salad with pecans, sun-dried cranberries, lettuce, cherry-tomatoes and cucumber in a balsamic vinagrette was excellent as well. And, I also tried the 3-kinds of carpaccio -- beef w/ black pepper, lamb w/ rosemary, and bison w/ juniper, all in a merlot & peppercorn reduction (slightly sweet) -- superb as well. All of this with a glass of Michel Torino Cuna Malbec (organic) came in at about $32. Had a visit from the chef (I think her name was Dione), and service was top notch, so I would give this place a quadruple thumbs up.
JM
I brought my daughter and her best friend into 4404 tonight and enjoyed a bowl of the Elk Goulash, and it was fantastic! The blueberry (yes, you read that properly) dumpling was a perfect accompaniment to the dish. So good!

Exceeded expectations. For a family gathering (toddler to seniors), I was looking for a place that would provide the right atmosphere, varied menu, good service, great food at a reasonable price. The 4044 came recommended to me by a friend. The food was fantastic and the service was gracious and friendly. Best steamed mussels I've had in ages! I would highly recommend this restaurant. You don't have to stand in line, they take reservations. They happily customize anything on the menu for those with diet restrictions. <br/>Great place!

Enjoyable evening. Great service, nice ambience and the food very nicely presented and very tasty. The dinner menu may appear a little pricey, (I'm not saying "over priced" but there was no problem ordering off the luncheon menu. Definitely a repeat.

Great Genuine service. Went in for Dinner tonite and had a great experience. Food was great, service was fantastic and above all genuine. Great job guys!

Great Tasting Food!. We were at this restaurant last night and was surprised to have seen no one inside but us. The server welcomed us warmly and ushered us to the table we want. There were three of us and our wish was to taste good delightful food while discussing business. We ordered a 12 oz AAA Beef and baby back ribs. It was served after 15 minutes and the wait was worth the taste of their food. The steak was tender and juicy, excellent flavour. The back ribs was well flavoured with their bbq sauce. And the best was their mash potato. The desserts were the amazingly best as well. The bill was reasonable.
