Dorinku is definitely a must visit for any food looking for decent Japanese fusion. So many great spins on classics. The Toro was amazing the beef tatak i was on point, we also had the Ramen salad which also fantastic but the price point was a little high. All around a great dining experience. Will be sure to return
We dropped in for lunch on a Saturday. The place was busy and no-one took our order for about ten minutes. We were just wondering if we should go somewhere else to eat when the waitress came over. After that, the experience was great, and the food was amazing! The chicken nanban was divine and the ebimayo was great. The ambience was nice, it was just like being in a Tokyo diner! We will be back here again for dinner. 5/5
This is THE BEST Japanese food I’ve had it truly is authentic!!!! I went to Japan in 2010 and have been trying to find decent food in Canada ever since and this is it!!! It is just like in Tokyo and Yokohama I can not wait till my next visit the staff is so friendly and knowledgeable you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!!!
One of the best meals I've had in 2017. I had lunch and started with the tomato kimchi appetizer, which was a beautiful tomato salad seasoned with the chilies that infuse kimchi. It wasn't fermented as I expected, but I wasn't disappointed because it was spectacular. Main was the chicken nanban bowl. Just fantastic, beautifully seasons chicken. I'll head here on every visit to Edmonton.
Absolutely amazing place. Been here a handful of times. If you want recommendations the TNT pressed sushi and fried chicken are the way to go!
Chicken is never too greasy and service is incredibly fast, less than 10 minutes from ordering most times! Prices are very reasonable for quality.
Wait staff is excellent and very attentive. Atmosphere and music are delightful.
The place is also very clean from restrooms to table.
Only complaint would be how noisy it can be when it’s busy, but that’s on no fault of the restaurant.
Once again highly recommended!
The food was amazing! We made a reservation for 8 people but were told we had to wait outside until everyone showed up which was kind of weird, also when the whole party of 8 arrived we had to wait inside for the table to be ready. The server was so kind and helpful:)
I’ve been here a couple times and each time the food and service is great
Very nice izukaya restaurant, atmosphere was great, lots of seating, very clean. The service was excellent; they were quick, friendly and went the extra mile while serving the sake bombs. We ordered the 2 apertizer special and the sushi combo which included 5 (I think) rolls. It was just the right amount of food and for the price was more than worth it. I definitely will be back here.
Went there today around 5pm and the place was a bit full. The food came out really fast as one came after another. The carbonera noodle was hot and creamy, the takoyaki was flavourful and crunchy, the 5 pc toto texture was good, but not as flavorful. The umi and the 5 piece sashimi special was really flavorful and just melts in your mouth. The real ginger was a bonus as it makes a big difference with taste and texture. Ordered the yuzu mojito and the melon cocktail ( both not in photo), it was really light and delicious.
Fair pricing for the quality that you get, and the customer service is excellent. The kitchen staff work hard and fast to deliver your food. Highly recommend going and will be going again!
Ramen was sooooo good! Great Tokyo vibes and friendly, helpful service! Enjoyed tonkatsu shio ramen with egg (extra $2), miso ramen, chicken kaarage, and tokoyaki. Pork slices were thick and nicely seasoned. If I had to be picky, I would say that I wish the pork was sliced thinner so that it would taste softer. Our server recommended the Tokyo cocktail and i liked how light and refreshing it was. Entire family was so full and couldn't finish everything!
This restaurant does not dissappoint. From first entering, the waft of fresh food and the eclectic atmosphere, to the great servers, and last but not least the outstanding eats. Best miso ever, and the 4 foot bridge of 5 kinds of pressed sushi were delectable. We are already looking forward to going back to try another couple of completely different dishes the next time we are in town. Culinary adventure!
PART 2- Visited Dorinku for a second time and had the chef's sashimi lunch special and the Ramen salad. The sashimi is the freshest of fresh and I cannot say enough about the Ramen salad. The tastiest dish I've had anywhere in recent memory. After explaining to our terrific waiter that every time we come here we want to try something different, he recommended for our next visit to try the tonkatsu curry and the miso Ramen soup. Looking forward to it!!!
The curry pork Rice and hell spicy chicken are my favorite! The ramen miso soup very tasty but a little salty at the end. My son like the watermelon drink with a scoop ice cream on top. 😂 I already ate a couple of time. If we go the Whyte Ave for walk, we will go to eat here.
I love Dorinku! Every visit seems to be an adventure as there is always something nice and new on the menu. Their ramen salad is amazing and is a must try!
