Review Oliveto Trattoria - Edmonton

I came here for dinner recently after passing by the restaurant for many years. The overall atmosphere was cozy and service was nice. In terms of food, I tried their Penne (with prawns, pancetta, Vodka rose sauce). Everything tasted really good: The penne was fresh, the prawns were nicely cooked and sweet, and the pancetta and the sauce complimented everything. The only downside is that I expected slightly more given the price.

The dining experience was exquisite. The food was delicious and filling. The service was responsive and well informed. Definitely looking forward to my next visit.

Everyone probably agrees that the food here is delicious, simply prepared with quality ingredients. But I wish to give a compliment for the way I was treated with kindness and warmth, even though I only ordered one meal for takeout. The host was so gracious and welcoming. I look forward to returning soon!

We were at Oliveto Trattoria today as part of our monthly South West Edmonton Seniors Association (SWESA) lunch group to support different unique local restaurants Edmonton. Our group of 14 they had prepared for but we had extra people show up last minute, which they accommodated without any hesitation. Service was prompt, friendly and extremely attentive. The owner was slammed as he had some staff which called in unable to work that day, he was serving table, answering phones and taking orders. A real leader exacting the best of his team under trying circumstances to provide the service the guests deserved. I ordered Tagiatella beef tenderloin pasta in a heavy cream sauce which was perfecto, the beef was extremely tender with wonderful flavour and the pasta was cooked al dente the way it should be but many restaurants fail to provide. A minor side note was the lack some seafood items due to supply issues which all restaurants appear to be plagued by these days, blame Covid, staffing , war or Russia, you pick a perfect storm. Others from our party enjoyed Zuppe minestrone soup, Penne shrimp, Tortellini with diced chicken breast, Angel hair Pasta with tomatoes in chicken broth and an superb dessert of chocolate cake adorned with fresh strawberries and decadant mounds of whipping cream. All in all a wonderful experiance, to be treasured again in the future as this is a keeper, generous portions, fair prices and compliments to the kitchen staff which provided prompt delicious mounds of magnificent Southern Italian food. There is a excellent wine list which was extensive although somewhat pricey. All in all we left stuffed to the gills, having eaten much too well for our senior diets but what is life if one does not indulge sometimes and forget the diet. The James Gang of SWESA

Went here for the first time last week. Very happy with the environment, staff, and the portions we're excellent. Great place and will definitely be back.

My experience with Olivettos was exemplary. I contacted Olivettos a few days prior to our reservation. I am on a very restricted sodium diet and they arranged for the chef to reserve some tomato sauce for me before adding salt. They also grilled a chicken breast with just seasoning but no salt. They went above and beyond. Our server was Renee and she was so attentive without being a nuisance. She is an outstanding server.

The food is superb, especially the blackened salmon and trout served on Saturdays as specials! The service is excellent and the atmosphere is warm and comfortable... one of my favourite restaurants.

We loved the cozy atmosphere, the fact that the owner is the host and the homemade pasta. The portions were generous and the wine list was diverse. An excellent choice for a date night. We will be coming back!

Great food and service. The pasta menu is large, the meat section has been reduced, portions reduced, prices increased. The place is always busy, which speaks to the quality of the food.

Friendly atmosphere with great tasting food. While not necessarily a family restaurant our children were treated like gold by the attentive staff. Definitely going back!

I didn't know what pasta was supposed to taste like until I ate at Oliveto. Great food, great people, great atmosphere... just a great family owned restaurant!!! If you haven't tried, you should!

Yum yum.has to be the best italian restaurant in edmonton

Great restaurant that is big enough for a fair number of tables yet small enough to feel intimate. The food is amazing as well as the maitre-d (actually owner/partner) Ramiro...who always welcomes us with a warm smile and follows up during our visit. The is one of those neighbourhood gem that could easily get missed (we stumbled on it when we first moved to the area) so I love to spread the word! :)

We have been here 3 times now and everytime is amazing...the service is great and the food is amazing.......
