With an "Oh, Canada!" Theme for my dinner club we went to one of the top 100 restaurants in Canada. I was especially keen on going to this one as the chef, Daniel Costa, also has two other restaurants in the top 100.

Only five of us could attend dinner Club but that worked out perfectly because it is a small venue. It has three tables that could fit about 6 each and a long bar. There are no reservations so we tried to arrive upon opening in order to procure a table. The decor is dark within, literally and artistically, with few lights and the delightfully nightmarish Bosche wall. Our waitress was friendly and helpful and the evening was perfect.

We started with some drinks, the ladies had the most refreshing and unique Bellini I've ever had...on the menu it calls it a Seasonal Bellini, and ours was pink lady apples if memory serves me correctly.

We wanted to each taste as much of Costa's dishes as we could so decided to share instead of ordering individual dinners.

From the Spuntini section of the menu we had a dish of green olives, as a nice amuse-bouche of sorts.

Also from the Spuntini, we ordered two of the specials, which was the much lauded egg yolk raviolo from the menu but with asparagus. It was incredible! Creamy and luscious but not too rich. What a start to our dinner.

Next we shared the fennel salad with pistachio and mint...which was simply perfection. I have a pretty sensitive tongue when it comes to acidic foods and generally I can only eat dressed salads in moderation. This, however, was so amazingly perfectly balanced I could have eaten the entire plate. Wow!

Last item from the Spuntini was the Fried Cotechino Sausage, with lentils, carrot gremolata and vin cotto. Again, an incredible dish. The homemade sausage had a crispy seared crust that added such a lovely salty bite to the lentils and sweet carrots.

Then we moved to the Salumi and Formaggi part of the menu, served with Grissini, warm housemade Focaccia and a sweet house made marmaletta and honey. We choose the Prosciutto tasting plate and the formaggie tasting plate. I wish I could remember which cheeses we had and which one was my favourite but there was no time for taking notes...just time to savour and enjoy and have fun!

For Dolci/ Dessert we had the Tuscan Amadei Chocolate Truffles, a lovely sweet slightly chilled delight.

I honestly have nothing negative to say about this place and the food we tried. Every dish was heavenly and this restaurant is well deserving of being included in the top restaurants in Canada!

Late Friday night dinner at Bar Bricco will be one of my most memorable dining experiences yet. Daniel Costa is a very familiar name if you’re into the food scene in Edmonton. Having now 3 very successful eateries under his belt, with ample amount of recognition and praise in the food industry; I knew going in how great dinner was going to be, and I was still blown away.
Serving cured meats and cheese imported straight from Italy, along with house made pasta - I came with an empty stomach and was ready to be spoiled with a great meal.

Nestled in between Corso 32 and Uccellino, right on Jasper Ave; walking distance from an impark 5 minutes away. Seeing as we arrived around 9:30 that night; We were pretty lucky to walk into free bar seats. They don’t take reservations and the dining room is very small- seating only 30 people max. The room dimly lit with a very intimate atmosphere.

Egg Yolk Raviolo ($15) 5/5 Pasta stuffed with cheese, sprinkled with more cheese adding with egg yolk inside that binds every bite together.. Could it get any better? Nope. Tried and True. Delicious.

Steak Tartare ($21) 5/5 My favorite of the night. Buttery beef on top of a crostini added with some arugula with some lemon squeezed over. The perfect bite. We shared every dish, but TBH.. I would have wanted this to myself.

Agnolotti ($16) 5/5 The sage butter is going to be your new favorite drug. Fresh pasta stuffed with cheese, where you dip the bites of pasta into the savory buttery- then roll the now moist pasta in the shaved parmigiano. SO MUCH FUN -so savory- so rich.

Mixed Tasting Plate ($30) 5/5 3 different meats with 3 different cheeses, breadsticks, house made bread and 2 dressings. Think of this as an advanced-classier adult lunchable. Fun to eat, great to share.
Aside from loving every single dish we ordered, service was great. They kept an eye on our glasses while being sure to clear our plates and immediately bring out the next course.

100% Recommend, will be back and I’m beyond excited to try the next 2 eateries on my next dinner out!

Owned and operated by Daniel Costa, a man whose Corso 32 has topped the list of Italian restaurants in Canada for years, Bar Bricco was added to an overpacked agenda thanks to strong praise from chefs and servers at Pigeonhole and Anju, respectively, the swanky Wine Bar on Jasper Avenue proving a perfect environment for some early evening snacks.

Rooted in Italian heritage, both that of its Chef and many of the Meats and Cheeses used to craft its plates, entrance to the long 30-seater any time after sunset sees diners immediately immersed in a bustling environment with music thumping, the two bartenders largely charged with taking orders and doling out wines by the glass as Sputini and some larger plates slowly trickle from a kitchen in back.

Built with a focus on sharing, the lighting subdued and capable of making everyone look a little more glamorous, it was on the notes of bold and citrusy that a glass of 2013 Alois Lageder Gewurztraminer was suggested, slow sips seeing it pair well with a starter of spicy Calabrian Sausage and sliced Anchovies on Bread with shaved Fennel, Red Onion and Parsley.

An oddly paced restaurant, plates coursed out with significant gaps even before the space really starts hopping, it was unavoidably eavesdropping on two Women discussing the complexities of dating while pursuing a career in Law that nearly thirty minutes passed before the arrival of plate two, the airy pudding of Eggs Moliterno served with grated Cheese and Black Pepper further embellished by Winter Truffles while simultaneously served naked Cheese Agnolotti were cleverly served ‘fondue-style’ with a sidecar of herbal Butter designed for dipping.

Impressed by the affordable Wine List and imported ingredients, but far more intrigued by items made in-house, it was after sizing up the menu at my subsequent dinner reservation that a plate of Housemade Porchetta was added, the room temperature meat served with Bread warm from the oven offering a perfect ratio of fat and protein with a hefty endowment of Rosemary and Garlic.

One of my favorite spots in the city. The quality and taste of their food is incredible. It's a bit pricey but worth it if you enjoy quality over quantity. Perfect spot to drink and share food with a small group. Nice location....almost had that big city hole in the wall type feel. I've tried quite a few different dishes and was never disappointed...worth every penny! Wine list is great too! Vinyl records playing.... great vibes. The only one negative is their bar stools...not comfy! But i would still rate them a 5! I'd recommend to try everything! But my top picks so far is the egg yolk raviolo and eggs moliterno...and their truffle honey....mmmmm

Love Bar Bricco.  Another fantastic idea from Chef Daniel Costa. Reflects the brilliance of Corso32, yet is one of our neighborhood restaurants that I truly feel invites you at home.  This evening we had our favorites - the egg ravioli and the fonduta agnolotti, AS WELL as the special onion ricotta baguette and meat balls - all amazing.  What truly blew us away this evening was the brilliance of our sous-chef, Carl.  We sat at the bar and he invited us to know each dish he was preparing and answered all of our questions about the restaurant philosophy.  In fact, throughout conversations he has influence our upcoming trip to Italy and France!  He made us feel like we were welcomed as friends at the restaurant, making our typical Friday date-night an exceptional experience. Thank you both Carl and Daniel!

First time here and it was excellent.  Egg yolk raviolo, rye & speck and cotechino sausage, all looking and tasting exquisite.  Top notch service, smart yet casual atmosphere.  A great place to stop in after work for a glass of wine from their extensive list and some terrific nibbles.

Bar Bricco has a lovely selection of meat and cheese. I've been three different times and each time I've ordered the sample platter with 3 meats and 3 cheeses. I recommend this option if you're going with 2-3 people, and it ends up being a great price. They have delicious cocktails and an extensive wine menu. The prosciutto and truffle salami are my favourite.

What a nice little find in downtown! Little hard to get in and painful to find parking, but well worth to try. Somehow it gives intimacy even being fully packed. Very good wine selection (try Vietti Barbera if you love softer reds), kudos to their somm. And a decent menu of small plates and cold cuts. I will be back for sure.

When I don't feel like a dinner at Corso, Bar Bricco is always a great alternative.  They have a good selection of wines.  I really like the egg yolk ravioli and usually order a random selection of meats and cheeses.  They don't take reservations but every time I have wandered in with friends the wait hasn't been too long.  Sometimes I am able to grab a spot at the standing bar.

A few weeks ago, I had the chance to go to Bar Bricco with Lequyen, Thomas, and my other cousin, Matthew. He was in town helping his brother move and just to spend a couple days. I wanted to take them to a few restaurants that they’d never been before, so we decided on Bar Bricco for some late night snacking after an early dinner.

A dream has now become a reality!  For a long time this place was on my wish list but on Saturday night we were one of three couples in line right at 5:00 pm to get the coveted only three tables in the whole place.  The rest of the seats are at the bar which are great too! The ambiance is, of course, great.  I love the vibe of this place.

Bar Bricco is the second restaurant of Daniel Costa’s soon to be trifecta empire. This one specializes as a spuntini bar, aka. snacks/small bites/noshes. The place itself is tiny with only three tables and a reverse L-shaped wooden bar. At most, it has 28 seats but there is standing room along the front. Hence, the no reservation policy. Get here early if you want a prime seating spot. We went on a Saturday evening (6:30pmish) and either due to the fugly weather or boxing match on that night, we had no trouble finding a place a seat at the bar. Hell yeah. No wait. That’s a win in my books. The interior is slick, modern and contemporary with two meat slicers gleaming behind the bar. Watch the staff work magic on those machines. It’s almost hypnotizing.

Yummy food, loud. A bit loud for this old lady, but it was fine once we moved from the bar to a table.

The food is delicious. Innovative menu (including the pear bellini). I'm still dreaming of the egg raviolo.

Everything I have experienced from this gang has been fantastic. I always have to have the Lambrusco, and after that the choices get difficult. I highly recommend the raviolo, porchetta, and the agnolotti oh em gee.
Each visit has exceeded my expectations. I can't say enough good things!

A unique and delicious dining experience,. Bar Bricco is a bit different than most of the other eateries in Edmonton. No entree's per se, rather the menu is made up of a menagerie of meats and cheeses. Hey! its the 2010's, if you are gunna call yourself a foody you'd best be able to get excited about charcuterie plates (or spuntini depending on who you are talking to). settle into Bricco's mellow atmosphere and get yourself some artisan meats and cheeses. The value here isn't bad but if you are familiar with the going price of charcuterie and spuntini plates then you will appreciate the price point for the quality you get here. And though the menu and the concept is more meant for a snack and a light bite to eat, you can still get a filling meal between the delicious fresh breads, the cured deli meats, the artisan cheeses, the fine condiments, and the olive (which are particularly great).
Check Bricco out, it has great atmosphere, and great eats, my only griefs would be that the resto-bar is so small, there are only a few tables, other than that you'll just have to sit up at the bar which is fine I supports but it feels like such an intimate setting that it makes you wish that there was more intimate seating available. Also, the menu is fairly limited, if you want something actually cooked, or complex, or if you are more in the mood for greens then probably best to go elsewhere, this is simple and delicious fare, best enjoyed at a leisurely and casual pace

Simple perfection,. The room was nice and modern but pretty dark, the deep blue tile seamed to suck up all the light.

The service was good, We wanted to try 4 dishes and our waitress suggested that can get half plates instead. That was very helpful.

Tomatoes and bread salad, the tomatoes where sweet, just like my garden ones. The oil dressing was light and balanced.

The meat sample plate included 3 meats but it was the fennel salami that stood out. The hint of fennel added so much depth of flavor.

The cheese sample plate also included 3 cheeses and it was the truffle cheddar that was special. It actually tasted strangely meaty.

The egg yoke ravioli was one of the best things I've eaten in a long time. Tender pasta, fresh ricotta. and a very runny egg inside topped the best shaved parma. So rich, so good.

Desert was a dark chocolate truffle curls. If you like rich thick truffles, you will love these things.

This is a classic modern take of simple perfection. Get the best ingredients, don't mess with it and let them be amazing.

Perfection in the simplicity. Costa Has done it again.

This guy can't be touched in the Italian food area. His attention to detail and memorable flavours make him my favourite Restauranteur in the city. This places oozes sexiness, and you can't help but eat and drink over and over, again and again because the offerings are so God damned amazing. I can easily drink a whole bottle of Lambrusco Reggiano, whilst devouring anything Dani puts in front of me. Heaven has a new name. Bar Bricco.

Simple, Perfect, and Quality. You can say a lot about this place, and the food and wine they serve, but not a lot needs to be said. Experience it for yourself. It's the closest thing to an actual wine bar in Italy you will find in Edmonton. Prices are reasonable for the quality of ingredients you get. I'd expect it to be packed possibly forever, or at least until things slow down in winter, so good luck getting a seat. Worth craming in to grab a bite and a glass, or a bottle and a couple small courses to munch on as you enjoy. If you're lucky enough to bump into Daniel and he's not too busy, you may get a bit of education on what you are eating.

European ambience. I loved this bar! The food lived up to my expectations (given that it is related to Corso 32) and the service was excellent. We stuck to the sputini because there were only two of us. The poached egg raviolo was fantastic - our favorite and a must try! It is quite large (easily shared by two of us). The herbs were delicately balanced and the egg yolk cooked to perfection - just spoon a bit over the top and there is a real hollandaise feeling to the dish. We also had the Fonduta Agnolotti which are gorgeous. The agnolotti arrived beautifully arranged on the late with a little ramekin of sage butter and a pile of grated parmesan cheese to finish. The pasta is soft and delicate, the cheese inside mild and creamy and the sage butter and parmesan make it perfect. Our final dish was the Speck and Ricotta Crostini. There were two on the plate and they were large enough to cut in half so could easily be shared by four people.

Our server was very helpful in explaining the menu and helping us choose our food.

The wine list was excellent. We stuck to the Prosecco because it was perfect for the evening.

My only complaint was that the bar stool was very uncomfortable - not sure if that is deliberate to ensure that people don't occupy the table for the whole evening. I doubt that this is the reason - probably just a design choice because the stools look lovely but they were the most uncomfortable seats I can remember.

Stunning. Went there tonight after taking my girlfriend out to a showing of The Sound Of Music at Fort Edmonton park. I ordered us the meat sampler and cheese sampler platter with a couple glasses of wine and some sparkling water! First off the wine was an amazing one, the coretta Barolo and thankfully Daniel serves the San Benedetto water! Both plates were amazing but the stars had to be the house made porcetta and the black truffle pecirino! All of the meat was fragrant and aged to perfection! The fromaggio was also the same! The house made ricotta was great with the accompaniment of the black truffle honey and apricot spread! This is my new fave late night hot spot! Brings me right back to Italy when I was training to be a chef there!

Down to earth service, unpretentious atmosphere, just a little cramped but you can call that cozy. I enjoyed the food here. I really did. It was about $31 per person after tax and tip and I got a taste of the cheese and meat platters, the steak tartare, a glass of red wine (6 oz), 3 x egg ravioli, and 1 x porcini tagliolini.

Pricey? For sure. But the quality was bar was quite high. I loved every bite of it. I mean, you can argue that I was sampling things so I found it more precious, but it could've been nothing special and I'd be whining about the prices here! Despite the high prices here, you do get what you pay for (Unlike Tavern 1903, hehe).

The porcini tagliolini was a little salty and it could just be what it's supposed to be. Nothing you can't wash down with a few sips of wine. In fact, it was nice to wash it down with some red wine. The steak tartare was actually good and I usually don't care much for this dish. The egg ravioli thing was nothing too special and at $13 it was probably the only thing I thought it was a little out of hand. The cheese and meat platters are to die for because the crostini's were complementing them so well.

This is not a place for dinner, but if you are nearby around 9 or 10 PM, it's quite the place to hangout and spoil yourself and have a luxurious experience. I didn't feel like I was in Edmonton when I was dining in there. As soon as I walked out, then I was met with the reality of Jasper Ave where the only real gems were Corso 32 and Bar Bricco.

Great night out. Atmosphere was very cool. Excellent little spot for a date night. My gf and i both enjoyed it. Atmosphere was cool, loved the fresh sliced meat done behind the bar!
Food here was unreal! I must admit i had a small challenge understanding what the items on the menu were exactly but we just asked that the chef prepare us something that we would like and did he ever!
I would have attached a pic of some food ... but this is all that was left! I wanted to lick the plate clean! The Egg Yolk Ravilio is a MUST ORDER! Chef Ryan came out to make sure our food was up to par, much appreciated!

Delicious, Generous Portions. I went to Bar Bricco not quite knowing what to expect. I tried Corso 32 last year, and while there wasn't anything wrong with it per se, I felt underwhelmed after hearing lots about how it's one of the best restaurants in the city.

Bar Bricco is much better than Corso in my opinion. The portions are generous - I had the speck and agnolotti and they were very filling. My companion had a cheese plate and ended up taking half of it to go. We were provided with lots of delicious crusty bread to go along with our meat and cheese. The olives were a nice touch and there were a lot of them for $4.

I really like the creativity of this place - I have not seen anything like it in Edmonton or in my travels. The agnolotti was to die for. I also really enjoyed the pear bellini. Speck was tasty too.. I really have nothing bad to say about the food. My companion also really enjoyed the dark chocolate for dessert.

My one point of improvement for this place would be the stools - they are very uncomfortable.

We will be back.

Gorgeous. Simple yet complex.

This paradox defines Bar Bricco, the latest space to bloom from the mind behind Corso 32. In a nutshell: "spuntini" (i.e., snacks a la house-made cured meats), fabulous drinks, and a chic and sleek interior that, despite the booming soundtrack, evokes a far-off sense of peace.

I’ve been to this eatery a few times in the past year and have been pleased each time I’ve come. They are located downtown right next to their sister restaurant Corso32 and are a cozy wine and sputini bar. This most recent time we visited was on Valentine’s Day after we had attended WineFest. What I like about this place is their lack of reservation requirements and on Valentine’s Day at 6pm, this was much appreciated. When we arrived, the place was already quite packed. There were four of us and we were promptly helped. We were seated at the corner of their long bar area which was not the most ideal (but only since it wa

Daniel Costa of Edmonton’s popular Corso 32, opened up Bar Bricco this past weekend. The Italian wine and spuntini bar (late night, small snacks) sits between his infamous Italian restaurant and the old home of downtown’s Transcend, soon to be a third restaurant of the acclaimed chef. Contrasting Corso 32′s “reserve two weeks in advance or good luck to you!” stance, Bar Bricco does not take reservations. Which was intriguing enough that got me thinking, I need to go ASAP or else I’ll never get to try it once word gets out. So Saturday night, Joe and I headed down with the hopes of nabbing two seats. The place was nearly full when we arrived at 7pm and with only three tables available, we seated ourselves on the far end of the bar.

Just finished my experience here. Truly spectacular. My partner and I ordered the kale salad, the tonnarelli, and the single stuffed ravioli. Our expectations were already high walking in, yet, the first dish completely annihilated our expectations, and each succeeding dish continued to bring us closer and closer to heaven. Rich, decadent, succulent, yet soft, deep, and light.

Overall a delightful experience. I am a big fan of the Fonduta Agnolotti and the Raviolo. Although we enjoyed the meat and cheese plates they offer, my personal favourite was the ricotta. The delicious food made up for the bad attitude of the waitress. The plant-based appetizers were delicious, as were the raviolo and the agnolotti. Wine was passing, cocktails were much better. But really, our waitress had some serious attitude issues from the moment we entered the restaurant to when she overcharged us with items we hadn’t ordered. Thank God the food was exquisite!
