Review Lingnan - Edmonton

Went to the Lingnan for the buffet they had! Gotta say, the service was unparalleled! They were so so kind, professional and attentive! They kept clearing plates and asking if we were all good! The food was also delicious! Made to perfection. I personally was a fan of the chow mein, peppered beef and the shrimp! And the mini Chinese donuts were the best way to finishing off the meal!

Excellent service by the owner and family. Buffett had a good selection and was good. They treated us with exemplary service at our table of 9. Will be back with family.

This by far is the best Chinese food restaurant experience I have had in my life. If you’re from Edmonton you should be very proud that you have a hidden gem here, and probably one of Canada’s best Chinese food restaurants in the country. I couldn’t help but reminisce about the days going out for Chinese food with my parents in the 1990’s , I recall the thick paper napkins, the cherry that came with the drinks, reading the menu on the paper placemats, drinking water from the bronze colour glasses, eating the big handmade egg rolls and watching the colourful goldfish. These are fading traditions in many Chinese Restaurants across Canada, however at The Lingnan you can still experience all of this. You will be completely impressed with the selection of food items, and drinks. The customer service was impeccable. The food was flavourful, and tasted fresh. Portion sizes, and presentation was amazing. That saying don’t judge a book by it’s cover, well don’t judge this place from the exterior of the building. The ambiance/decor was the best I’ve ever seen in a Chinese food restaurant in Canada, it’s truly an Instagramming dream! This is a family business that has operated for well over 65 years. They definitely work hard for your business. I was completely impressed by how the restaurant staff took the time to go outside and shovel out a path for me to get through as the city had plowed a huge wall of snow and ice in front of the side walk from clearing off the street. The Lingnan offers a buffet before Oilers games, and they serve their to go noodles in fancy carton containers (the kind you see in the movies) If you’re visiting Edmonton, Alberta like I am at the moment, this must be on your list to check out this truly one of a kind hidden gem! And if you live here , be proud this place is in your community and do what you can to support this business. Thanks Lingnan for this most positive experience tonight!

Quite excellent, they even stayed open late for us on Saturday. Food was fantastic and the service was even better. We will be back again for certain!!

It's absolutely fantastic as always. I have been coming here with my family for the last +10 years for big family events, and it never stops being amazing and just down right fantastic. Food is amazing, tasty, and delicious; there is always something for everyone to enjoy. Staff are phenomenal, and the restaurant itself is stunning. Just walking in, you feel like royalty, and Lingnan is like a palace. I always suggest this restaurant to friends and anyone I meet.

The best Chinese food I've ever had ! Seriously never had better ginger beef, pork fried rice , beef and broccoli and sweet and sour pork in my life. After a meal here you feel full and energized not like traditional Chinese food I've had where it leaves me sick, tired and hungry again in a hour , no not this place You can taste the fresh quality ingredients and the service was amazing! They were able to accommodate my allergy to gluten too and that's hard to find. The delivery driver was so kind and said it's a family ran business 3 generations in . The food arrived so hot and it was -35 outside .I highly recommend supporting this business! Your money will be well spent here.

We tried Lingnan for the first time. Even though we have planned to visit this restaurant many times after every time we had their dry spicy chicken in the Taste of Edmonton. This was an amazing experience from the very start found the staff very polite jolly helpful and attentive to our needs. The dishes we ordered were made perfect served with great passion and we're explained as per Szechuan culture. The Lingnan has gained the top spot in our Chinese go to restaurants. Thanks to the whole staff for their hospitality and a perfect family night.

Love this place! I feel like I've stepped back into imperial China. It's what a Chinese restaurant should look and feel like. Staff are outstanding, the food is superb, and I love the selection of old school cocktails that most bartenders don't know how to make any more. Truly a treat!

Amazing gluten free Chinese food! Buffet has 6 items GF & the owner brought out 2 other dishes on house for us celiacs as well as GF spring rolls & soup. Authentic Chinese food & A++ Service!

If there was a 10 I would rate this experience as that. Amy is a lovely lady who wants the best for everyone who enters her restaurant. The wait staff is beyond amazing as well. Remember to treat your wife well Mr. Amy and tell her how good she looks every day. Amy, you are a beautiful person in and out and I thank you so much for the little Buddha and the drinks. This is a great place to get great Chinese food! The service was amazing and quick. They are right on top of refilling waters and cleaning off plates. The crispy lemon chicken is perfect. So was the breaded ginger beef. It's the best ginger beef I've had in a long time.

We have been going here since I was a kid. My parents are friends with Kinman and Amy. They are great hosts and the food is top notch. By far my favorite Chinese restaurant.

Dear Lingnan Restaurant, In spite of the positioning of Rogers Place, and all the downtown road construction, and a new LRT line blocking access to your establishment ... you still have some the best food and service in Edmonton! Thanks for dinner!!! :)

The Lingnan is a family favourite and we have had so many memories of family events there. Amy and her family treat us so well and the food is fantastic. It is the only Chinese food my husband eats and now that we live in Red Deer, we gladly make the hour and half drive.

Fantastic food and atmosphere. Even worth the drive downtown which I never do.

Holy Hannah, I love this restaurant. I have a wheat allergy, and there are so many things that I can have for dinner. The Szechuan Beef and Peaches &a Cream Shrimp are the two dishes to die for. Amy (owner) always comes by to say hello, and now because we've been there so often, it feels like we are family there. Such great service and wonderful people. Thank you so much!
