Review Zaika - Edmonton

Tried their buffet on a weekday. The restaurant/bistro is clean, tidy and well maintained. The hostess/server was welcoming and thorough with providing refills of water and naan. The buffet menu fair with price point regarding the number of items they served. Tandoori chicken, fish, chat, raita and butter chicken tasted amazing. However, the goat curry was a pass. Overall the food was mild (spice level) but tasted good. Would visit again.

Okay so I'm going to preface this by saying the food is really good. I have enjoyed everything I have ordered. However, I have ordered take out twice and something has gone wrong both times. Little things, nothing enough to stop me from ordering, but still dissapointing. The first time I ordered I didn't get my entire order. I paid for two pieces and naan bread and only recieved one. Not a huge deal but I had to share my naan bread and "Joey doesn't share food". Second time I ordered I specifically asked for no onions on the dehli chaat and thst was ignored. They were easy to pick off, so again not a huge deal, but it was slightly annoying. Still delicious though. Honestly, I will probably order here again. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is nice. The food is delicious. I will, however, be checking my meal before I leave now. So 4/5 stars.

Excellent ambience and service, and lots of delicious dinner buffet options. Not sure about past comments on bland food, definitely don't agree. Some dishes were quite peppery, so had to cleanse my palate to taste the flavor of other dishes. Some flavors were subtle and others bold, so a nice mixture for different preferences. The fish pakora was fantastic! Also loved the butter chicken and goat dishes (very tender meat), veggie roll and mango lassie. If you're not sure how to enjoy the dishes traditionally (I.e. with the chutneys), the servers are happy to give tips. Manager came by to check on satisfaction, too. Highly recommend.

They gave us uncooked biryani and Manchurian. We were celebrating for one of our friend and we came out very disappointing. I have tried almost all India restaurants in Edmonton, we kind of felt cheated here. Never expected this from Zaika. Paneer dishes are good but the quantity is way too less for $20.

This Indian Restaurant is really good, especially if you dine in as the ambiance is fantastic and the decor is relatively classy. The buffet is pretty good and the dishes are well spiced. The desserts are decent, yet balanced and not too overwhelming sugary. Their service is decent and the dishes don’t take forever to be served unlike some other restaurants. The prices could be a little better but overall a very good choice, you won’t be disappointed that’s for sure.

Good looking restaurant with great interiors BUT I would not recommend this place for food. Ordered few items from the menu in a hope to get some fresh and good taste- but I was proved wrong. Server tried to justify with an irrelevant justification when complained about the cold food. (And, customer service does need improvement). -Honestly, I was like what the heck - they can’t even cook basic items properly and it’s a restaurant! Guys please put some serious Zaika in your food. Don’t get mad at my feedback rather take this to do something to improve your food.
