Went for a late evening, romantic anniversary dinner. We were excited to try this restaurant and celebrate our 7th anniversary together. The atmosphere and decoration of the location was excellent. Unfortunately, our evening was lackluster due to inattentive service and mediocre food.
The first impression was tepid. When we arrived the restaurant it was not too busy. There was about 6 tables currently seated, though it took more than 15 minutes for our server to come by to make her first introductions and inquire about drinks. On a positive note the service for our drinks was speedy and they were delicious. The food was mostly okay, though I do not recommend the duck. The components of the dish was tasty but, the duck itself was tough and unappetizing.
We made the best of our anniversary night with our own good company. Unfortunately, the waitstaff never acknowledged that we were celebrating an occasion (even though we stated on our reservation we were celebrating). Overall, there are plentiful choices around the city for a romantic dinner for two, that offer much better service and food. Definitely save your time and money and skip over this place. Don't expect to have a special evening here.

The atmosphere was so nice - super trendy and comfortable. I loved the lighting and the live edge tables.

We recently had our wedding reception at Ampersand 27 and I cannot tell you how amazing our experience was with Ampersand 27 and specifically Nicky. From the beginning we had prompt and helpful responses. Guests were well taken care of, with special care taken of guests with allergies! The food was raved about! Amazing experience 11/10. And again, the food!! It was really nothing like âwedding foodâ because it was delicious.

We had the breakfast charcuterie, added avocado and hollandaise on the side and it was perfect. Can't wait to go back. Highly recommend as a brunch spot.

Lively location, beautiful decor, excellent service, and a menu that has something for everyone. I had the chicken with mushroom risotto and I thought it was a perfect portion. I just found it so pleasant. Perfect experience.

Charcuterie was good but could be a bit more jazzed up for the price and the ritz crackers were kind of cheesy (no pun intended). Service was amazing. New Gin cocktail was great!! The beet salad is actually to-die-for good!!! I would 100% go back!

The wife and I went there for a couple drinks last Saturday night.
Loved the decor and atmosphere. Busy but not to loud. Good music.
The service from bartender Thomas was exceptional. Great service, friendly and attentive.
Although we didnât eat, the menu looked very interesting.

The food was awful, so salty, the scallops had a beautiful sear on them..... were raw and cold, ordered the steak (so much fat on the steak) and Brussel sprouts (over cooked), again the only seasoning they used was salt lots and lots of salt. Safe to say we wonât be back ever again.

Canât complain, place is swanky, but my 2 girlfriends and I must have gotten very unlucky with our orders.
I had the steak tartare, and all I have to say is why mess with already a good thing, it was too creamy for my liking, almost tasted like a plain Dijon mustard beef. The other dish was one of the Shareables, the seafood, and again tomato sauce was lacking flavour and seafood over cooked, the last dish was the Indian inspired shareable, although it was the most flavourall, it was just weird to mix 3 distinct sauces in one dish. We were glad to check it out but wonât be back. Iâm sure thereâs other plates that are amazing.

Not what I expected, but better! Cocktail list is great--I had The Boulevardier, which I highly recommend. I had the Housemade Pastrami Sandwich with fries. The sandwich was mouth-wateringly delicious, but the fries are as you would get from a chip truck.
Solid recommendation for lunch on Whyte Ave, especially if you want to impress clients without breaking the bank.

This place has the atmosphere and the location. But above and beyond this is the service and the food. The back of house staff is so passionate and innovative. Each dish was creative and perfectly plated. Our waitress was friendly, helpful and really solidified our positive experience. We have the best meal last night. Thank you Ampersand | 27!!

Perhaps the best french fries I've ever had - cooked in peanut oil! I also really enjoyed the blueberry & port chutney, and the pickled beets, but the fries alone are more than enough reason to revisit this restaurant! I did not overly enjoy the salmon, but I'd really like to try the maple butter pork belly and one of their flatbreads at some point in the future!

A friend and I went to lunch at Ampersand 27 yesterday. I ordered the signature burger. It's comes with your choice of fries, soup or salad. I really enjoyed the burger. It was amazing! The service was excellent. The only small complaint that I had was the fries. The fries were run-of-the-mill pre-frozen, bland fries. For such an amazing burger you would think there would be homemade pomme frites, with a nice unique aioli dip. I didn't bother eating the fries. Overall, I would recommend eating here. My friend ordered the eggplant. She loved it and had no complaints.

I have dined and worked at this wonderful restaurant. Both were wonderful experiences. From the community minded management, to the industry supportive staff and the culture of expression and growth the place encourages... it was an experience unmatched. Every kitchen employee brings forth a level of professionalism I have not seen anywhere else... and their creativity... man, you have no idea. As an old bartender - I switched cities, and trust me if they opened on here, I would be all over it - I was at home there. I suggest everyone give the ampersand passion a try!! :)

Such a wonderful unique friendly environment! The food was sooooo good!! All of the staff, Including our server Adam, our hostess and Simon (wine guru ) were so helpful and well educated on the menu. We walked in with no reservations and were seated within a couple minutes, we were so very pleased with the whole experience and will definitely recommend this restaurant to our family and friends! And we hope to return very soon!

Service was excellent, food and cocktails were out of this world delicious.
My girl friends were in from out of town, so we decided to check Ampersand 27 out being a first for all of us. We ordered a plathora of items on the menu, but our favorite was the steak tartar and of course The charcuterie.
I myself ordered The house gin and tonic ... smooth and delicious.
The atmosphere and vibe was beautiful.
We highly reccomend as we will be going again very soon.

I have been to many restaurants across Canada and this one by far is the best. I have never had a better dining experience! The food was amazing, with so many flavors that go together perfect! Even though I live 2 hours away I will come back as often as I can. Cheers to the Chef!
