First time at Joeys on trip from England and WOW stunning place , awesome patio .. and the service was A* we were waited on by Zach who explained the drinks and even gave us some taster wine samples as not sure which to enjoy ... then the menu was Top choices such a hard choice but Zach explained with such deligence and my choice was Devine ... all the staff were friendly and our waiter Zack was so professional with it nothing was tooo much for him ... can highly recommend Joeys and the meals and service A+ šš·
My parents and I were at joeys last night for my momās birthday and we had a wonderful evening. The food was great and I must compliment you on your amazing, outstanding spaghetti and meatballs- this dish is the best Iāve tasted in any restaurant and being a pasta lover, Iāve tried them all! The meatballs were very flavorful and I could taste the basil in the sauce and the meat which made it all the tastier. The spice level was perfect for me- just a bit of kick without being overwhelming. This will be my go to dish from now on, so please donāt take it off the menu! Iāve decided that I want to celebrate my own birthday in June here, so I hope youāll have the spaghetti and of course the delicious apple pie which we always get for dessert. Keep up the great service and excellent food choices! ļæ½ļæ½ I would also like to thank our server Ryan for making the evening so enjoyable and memorable for us.
Went for a late dinner Found Joey's South Common The place was packed which is often a good sign. Thomas our server was the best food service we have had in years. Highly recommend good food amazing service. Even with nearly a full house food came quickly, cooked to perfection, and we were not forgotten!
I am visiting family in Edmonton and the service and food today at your restaurant was wonderful!
Thank you to the seating Hostess who helped with selecting a dish and making the necessary substitutions to accommodate my vegan diet.
Our server Claire was so efficient and kind, which made our dining experience an excellent one
Delicious food, great atmosphere, we were so happy with everything. Much to our amazement the restaurant took care of our entire bill and told us to visit as long as we wanted!
I canāt say enough about what a great experience we had today and will be back everytime we visit! :)
The thing I love about Joey Soco, is that regardless if you are an avid regular or a casual patron, you get treated like a king or queen every time. It doesn't matter if I'm just stopping in for a casual drink or a family dinner, I get treated like gold. Whether the servers or bartenders know me or not, I get treated the same. Amazing service and quality staff are the reason I keep going back. Forever and always Joeys Soco. Who doesn't like to feel like royalty.
Normally skeptical of having steaks in restaurants, I'm a bit of a purist and prefer to make my own but I was feeling adventurous and tried it and my god, it was one of the best steaks I've ever had. My girlfriend and I love coming here, we have come for many special occasions and always have great food and good service. It's a bit expensive but 100% worth it for special occasions.
I have been to several joeys around Edmonton. South common is the BEST, food, waitress and chefs. I have celiac disease the chefs and waitress take extra care when they prepare my gluten-free food. I always feel like the food has been prepared with love ļæ½ and care. Never been sick.
If you want a good meal, or impress out of town guests, or some of your numb nut friends, ļæ½ then take them to Joeys South Common.
Even my son and daughter- in-law had tasty meals and were very impressed. ļæ½ļæ½ļæ½
Best meal on a 2 week trip of Alberta highly recommended. Staff are amazing, food faultless, great drinks menu.
I had a great dinner with my sister. She had a steak dinner and I had the ravioli with lobster sauce. It was so good. Service was great.
My wife & I always have a great time at Joey's South Common. Leighton was one of the best server's we've ever had. He went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. 5 stars to him & to everyone at this amazing restaurant!
It was mt first time at Joeys .The food was great Hamburg and mushroom soup on side a large bowl by the way. I WAS really impressed, Service was good too I recommend that you give Joeys a try
Sarah was phenomenal! The food was superb and who could ask for a better atmosphere in a restaurant. Sarah knew the menu, what to suggest and treated us very well. Thank you Sarah!
Consistently keeping with the standard and expectation of delicious Joeyās food that I enjoy at the Calgary locations. This restaurant was clean, bright and open. I liked the larger booths they had to accommodate bigger groups like us. Ordered our usual favorites: baha fish tacos, shrimp flatbread, fully loaded crispy mash and a new item on the menu- chicken parmigiana. The chicken was lacking some seasoning and spice but otherwise the portion and presentation were great. Service was the only thing that couldāve been better. Service started off great but after receiving our meals our waitress was MIA the rest of the time. We had to flag another waitress down just to get refills and extra napkins. Overall the food was delicious and the ambiance was relaxing and pleasant.
Meet with a couple business partners to discuss some business issues coming up. Picked Joey South in large part because of location for all involved. We were given a table in the corner, service was good and food was excellent. We were impressed with the waiter, who carefully explained the dishes we ordered and made sure we knew what was on each plate we ordered. The careful attention to detail was great. Refills of water, soft drinks and later coffee were provided at ideal intervals.
God experience overall.
Went to Joey on by accident and enjoyed the patio. The staff were nice and accommodating!! Get their watermelon drink it is so delicious!!! Their food is actually pretty good and their selection is good as well, I do wish they had brunch though.. other than that it is all good!!
Lettuce wraps are a must. No specials on drinks unless it's happy hour which is kind of bunk. Calamari was decent but a little dry, sushi rolls were tasty and the sauce had some kick. Pasta...nothing to rave about but hit the spot.
I have always been a critic of Joey due to the hype and underwhelming food. However after stopping for a quick bite at Saturday happy hour my opinion has changed drastically. Their gin and tonic with lime slush is a super refreshing summer drink and the "banh mi" sandwich is ridiculously addictive. It checks all the boxes: crispy, smoky, sweet, umami, aromatic with slight kick of heat. Order this with their delicious shoe string fries, you won't regret it.
Came here during the afternoon on the weekend, service was friendly but not as attentive as I would've liked. Ordered the ravioli with lobster cream and grilled prawns ($24.25) and the ahi tuna club sandwich ($17.50). I highly recommend both, the ahi tuna club is one of my favourites. Shared both dishes with a friend and I'm glad that they were able to split the dishes into two plates fr the kitchen, always very helpful. The environment here is pretty chill, great place if you're looking for a modern place to grab some good food and drinks. Compared to other restaurants in the area, prices may be more on the high end but the food is worth it in my opinion.
Joeys south common is really good. They have good staff and servers working there. The food has yet to disappoint me and I love their sandwiches! The only downside may be that it's really really dark in the restaurant.
Great restaurant but it really confused me? I thought I was going to Joey's, you know, with that yellow fish blowing bubbles? So turns out this wasn't it but the food was greatish (depending on the order). Restaurant was huge, though, they could give more food for the excessive price they charge for every meal.Ā
All in all, good stuff but as I said, very confusing. #WhereDaBlueFishAT
I eat here quite a bit and I have to say for a big restaurant they do a good job with the food and service. The flatbreads and the lobster grilled cheese are fantastic! It's always nice to come here for a snack.
Good atmosphere thru out the restaurant, whether you're in the dining room, lounge or the patio. Usually there's a wait for the patio during the season, approx 45 mins
The Deep fried Korean Cauliflower is different from your usual appie but quite tasty and enjoyable. It's very similar to the Chili chicken. Both are very yummy.
I love ordering the Lobster grill cheese. The lobster ravioli was really good but doesn't seem like it's on the menu anymore unless I missed it? The butter chicken has veggies in it. Gives it diff flavoring but it's not typical to have veggies in butter chicken. Not bad tho.
Service is always good. Staffs are attentive and very friendly.
The washroom's hand wash sink area is so cool. They installed a new dyson tap and dryer all in one. It's super cool, try it! Haha
Food is good but not great.Ā Very consistent though. Usually go for lunch and the menu is not bad but a little short.
Service is always good - never had bad service here.
Everytime I come here always excellent service, food cooked and on time, only thing I would like to see brought back is the Lobster Ravioli. Loved that dish.
My husband and I visited on Friday night for appies and drinks on the patio. We've visited a few times before and all visits have been excellent. They have a very nice patio that is secluded from the South Edmonton parking lot. There is a nice ambiance and great vibe. Friday night was excellent for people watching as there were a number of interesting groups there with some very nice cars parked outside including two Ferrari's, a Lamborghini, a Bentley and a beautiful vintage car.
Good food. Food was good. I had salmon it was really good. The only thing I didn't like was it is a fancier place or used to be and the menus are really cheap looking now and they don't have napkins like they used to its paper now. Just got a little cheap. They also don't have a lot of selection on their menu. Other than that I like it. Waitress was nice and it was really busy and she didn't leave us for long periods
Fast service, awesome food. Would definitely recommend and will return!
Thursday Night Runaway. Went to Joey South for a drink and some appetizers with a colleague from work. The Gyoza and wings were incredible as was our server Karla. Had a ton of Super Stoked Vodka Cokes and ended up staying for four hours. great late night place if you're on the south side.
Consistently good. We eat at the southside Joey fairly often - every month or so for the past several years. The food is consistently delicious, and they do a wonderful steak. The deep fried roll up potatoes that accompany the steak are a calorie bomb but SO YUMMY. My husband has a dairy allergy and they are always very good about accommodating that. The chocolate lava cake is delicious and their beach salad is to die for. The service is usually not very good - expect to spend some time at this restaurant, but in my opinion the food is worth it! We had one bad experience at this restaurant where my husband's ribs were so gristly he could not eat them but the manager came over and brought us a fresh rack, which in my opinion was excellent customer service. JOEY is a bit pricey, but really delicious. I bring my mom here for the fettucine alfredo, which she loves. I honestly have not tried anything on their menu that I do not like - and they have fun drink specials every day. I enjoy their superstoked flavored vodka with coke and a splash of slush on top - yuuuuum!
I usually go to to small hidden places to eat like Millcreek Cafe and Fired Up BBQ as i think that they serve the best foods in the city, but JOEY in south common is not bad. Try their mini donuts, highly recommended
Good dessert. Love the chocolate lava cake!!
Very good plan to go back the service was good and the food was amazing
Had the Crushed Herb Salmon. FABULOUS! Great service, too. You guys are doing things right!
I had the Panang Prawn Curry bowl for lunch. My buddy had the Butter Chicken. Both were very good. Great service on the patio as well although our table was right beside a fountain making it difficult to talk. Overall, great food and good service.

+4.5
Excellent place. Excellent service.
The service isn't that great but the food was awesome. I recommend it !
First time here and we ordered Calamari Fritto (huge!), Ahi Tuna Club (delicious) and Panang Curry (excellent). Will definitely come back to try other menu items.
CRISPY MASHED POTATOES!!!!. My favourite thing here happens to be a side dish. The crispy mashed potatoes are FANTASTIC!! When I ordered my salmon dish, it come on a bed of perfectly cooked asparagus and on the side was this big thing that looked like a spring roll. Inside this spring roll were mashed potatoes! It was sooo good. Service was good in the lounge, I'd come back alone simply for the mashed potatoes
Decent!. Had the lobster ravioli, quite delicious! Service was mediocre.
The service was amazing, I couldn't decide between two dishes. And the waitress explained them both thoroughly, very attentive but not annoyingly so. I opted for the steak because I wanted to try the crispy mashed potatoes that everyone was ranting about. They are interesting but not spectacular. The steak was cooked perfectly for medium rare which was a nice change from the well I got at the rose and crown. The vegetables were rutabaga instead of the usual boring carrots etc. Overall quite an enjoyable experience. I will be back to try the panang prawn curry that I didn't get this time
Ordered the chicken burger with yam fries, delicious. Husband had the lunch roast chicken dinner and he loved i toot. Great atmosphere.
Love it!!!. I love Joeys' I go there all the time, yes it is a bit pricey but the food is amazing and so is the service. My boyfriend and I have been going here for every anniversary or special occasion, it has never let us down!!
Apparently, it's not kid friendly. Great food and fast service. Good lunch menu. Recommend. 4/5
The original plan was for a group of friends to head to Famoso's for a birthday dinner. With the line out the door, we decided to try Joey's. I was hesitant at first, expecting overpriced food and a long wait time, seeing as it was 6pm on a Saturday night. However, the wait time was about 20 mins - perfectly reasonable for a group of 7 people. During the wait, there were samples of appetizers and drinks handed out by the hostesses.
Once we were seated, I was pleased to find that the menu offered meals from 13 to 30+ dollars, great for someone who is tight on cash at the moment. Some friends ordered the Spicy Italian flatbread to start - nothing special for $11. I ordered the Lobster Grilled Cheese (14.99) with yam fries substituted for an extra $1.5. The blend of cheeses and lobster worked wonderfully well together and the seafood sauce added a nice tang to the sandwich. The yam fries were average, but I enjoyed the citrus-y edge to the dip. The entrees all came out together and within 15 mins of ordering. A friend ordered the Rotisserie chicken which he said was cooked very well - the portion was also huge! The steaks and burgers that were ordered by other friends were all average - good but nothing special.
The waiter was friendly and helpful throughout the whole meal. One person ordered draft Stella because it was on special for the night. The bar had run out, though, and the waiter was able to recommend and order another European beer at the same price as the special. He was also able to get a free dessert for the group to share when he found out about the 2 birthdays we were celebrating.
Overall, an unexpectedly good dinner. I would go back because I'm curious to try the other dinner items and drinks
One of the best patios to go to during the summer. It's modern and the service is great. Try the buttered chicken.
Best Meal in Ages. I recently went to this restaurant and to make a long story
short, the lobster grilled cheese sandwich was the best meal, I've had for a long time. Excellent service too. Highly recommended.
All round excellent. We were looking for place for early lunch and thought we should give this place a try. First thing youll notice is the spectacular design and layout of this high class restaurant. Our meal was excellent. We went with organic salad for appetizer and our main course was the Seafood Sicilian Pesto linguine with butter mushroom on the side. And apple pie with maple icecream was to DIE FOR. Finally, the service was beyond expectations, they were friendly, easy to talk to and professional. We will be enjoying another sunday lunch here sometime soon:)
The lobster ravioli is to die for. Omg it is amazing. The only thing that I ever get while I am there!
Great Bar. Joey's has an awesome bar. However that is where the praises stop. With a constantly changing wait staff of tweenie boppers sporting the tightest black clothing imaginable, it is a veritable haven for the male species. However, the food is of poor quality and the ambiance is too faux for my liking.
I was quite happy when JOEY was chosen as the venue for a coworker's farewell lunch. Even though I've never been to a JOEY restaurant before, I was glad that I didn't have to go to Chop again. Chop has a boring lunch menu with prime rib as the only steak option, and the waitress spilled a glass of cold water down my back the last time we went. Anyway JOEY turned out to be a much better option, even though service was a bit uncoordinated. We had a large group of over 10 people and the restaurant did not have any private rooms or even square tables that could be put together. We were spread out across several small round tables. Latecomers were not offered drinks and our dishes all came at different times, so by the time the last table got their food, the first table was done eating. We started with calamari fritto ($12) which was nice and crispy, served with a creamy and spicy aioli. A lot of people enjoyed the spinach and artichoke dip ($12), but I found it a bit too mild. It was warm
Really great dining experience. Came here for a late lunch on a hot afternoon. We were planning on enjoying the outdoor patio, but the inside lounge was so blissfully cool and refreshing we decided to stay inside.
Service was wonderful, presentation was great, and the food was absolutely delicious. Finished the meal feeling revitalized and energized.
Great staff at this location, and dining there was definitely much better than cooking at home in the heat. Will definitely return.
They let me place an order for dine-in after 11:30pm. Price is bit on higher side but food was good. There could have been more chicken and less noodles in my chicken parmesan. Service was quick and staff was welcoming.
First time to dine at Joeyās. Came all the way down from the north side, I was very mesmerized by the wide open space, and how beautiful the restaurant was, it felt like I was in a large penthouse lol
(Apologies for my descriptive experience š„ŗ)
My server illana was excellent, walked me through the menu, asked me any questions and gave me any suggestions I may like and Iāve decided on picking the beach salad with my order of HH steak frites.
After having a few bites, I was very happy with my food! The fries had a very distinct tasteā¦almost like a hint of sweetness which makes them very enjoyable, steak was nice and tender.
The beach salad was so yummy and refreshing since there was strawberries and avocado in it.
And yes, the donuts were perfect šš»
I will definitely come back here, all the way from the north
thank you for such amazing food and excellent service !
Food was very good, we sat in the lounge area which was comfortable and not too noisyā¦service was quick, I would go back
I ordered the bacon cheddar burger (lettuce wrapped) with the house salad. The presentation was very nice. The house salad was delicious. The burger was cooked perfectly! Great meal.
Love everything about Joey's, great ambience, fabulous service and the food and drinks are absolutely brilliant. It's for everyone, couples, families , occasions - can't go wrong really ! This is my go to place for a date or family dinner !
Great place, great service, food is delicious. The only thing is that their sits on the patio were really dirty. You should check that before you sit customers. That's the only thing. But I really enjoy this place. The apple pie and sushi cones are something that you must try.
