If I could give this restaurant more than 5 stars I would! We had a team lunch here today - what a beautiful restaurant and the food - wow! The service was impeccable, quick and very friendly. Prices may appear high but well worth it when you taste the quality of the food.
You walk into a beautiful comforting decor of warm wood, brick and gentle lighting. The tables are well spaced apart - no one is bumping into your chair as they walk behind you and you don't need to talk over the next table's voices to have a conversation at your own. When you walk in you can feel the quality, love and passion they have for their restaurant - the table settings are gorgeous and even their disposable napkins feel like linen. The napkins are made from recycled paper and they are actually imported from Italy (we asked and our waitress brought us an unopened package to view - lol).
I had the Seafood Paella - prawns, scallops, calamari, mussels, clams, on a bed of Spanish-style saffron rice & vegetables. There was so much seafood on it, I could not see the rice until I ate some of it - wow - it was so very very good and very filling. I could really taste the freshness in the seafood and the vegetables. All was perfectly cooked. For dessert, I threw caution and calorie counting to the wind, and had the Triple Chocolate Slab - white & dark chocolate, oreo cookie crust, ice cream, and blackberry coulis. If you like chocolate, this is Chocolate Heaven!
I will definitely be back - but next time for dinner - I loved it here! Thank you
Just got home after a fabulous birthday dinner at SABOR. It was perfect. The server was exceptional and helped guide us as it was our first time visiting. He was knowledgable and answered all our questions. He let us settle in and made us feel like there was no rush, we could take as long as we needed. He filled our glasses and was very attentive. We chose the family style meal and added some extras to the first course. The oysters were spectacular as were the piri piri prawns. The mussels and clams were tender and delicious in a creamy tomato sauce. We added the eggplant curry dip which was delightful as were the marinated olives. The main course consisted of haddock and sea bream on a bed of lobster risotto. It was rich and full of flavour and oh so much of it. We couldn't finish it. Trio of desserts was lovely, creme broulee style custard, tart cherry cheesecake and a lovely bitter chocolate mousse which contrasted nicely with everything else. We went through 2 bottles of the villa real rose and were treated to 2 special "birthday ports" for our celebration. It was a truly exceptional dining experience. The best we have had in Edmonton at any restaurant by far. We will definitely be back!
Excellent service, very tasty food, great ambiance, one of the best dining experiences I've had in Edmonton. Piri Piri prawns were fantastic would highly recommend.
5 star plus this is the best restaurant in Edmonton by far. The food and service are amazing, I recommend this restaurant to everyone I know. Congratulations !
The food was absolutely delicious and service was great. Our waiter was friendly and accomodating even when he was super busy! Definitely recommend this place!
We were there for end season's job supper... The food was amazing, especially grilled octopus and seafood paella... Chocolate mousse and creme broule were delicious too. Our waiter, Brandon, was really good, welcomed and funny person, we really enjoyed it!
Had our company Christmas party here tonight. Wasn't sure what to expect as we had never dined here before. Exceeded our expectations and then some. Amazing food, wine and impeccable service! The seafood was so fresh - as though we were on the coast. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Can't wait to come back!
The food was amazing , the waitress was friendly and knowledgeable and the manager was actively on the floor assisting the wait staff and visiting tables in order to make things run smooth .
Easily one of the best restaurants for seafood in the city. Oh and Deb's cheesecake is amazing.
The food and service was awesome! Great little space for a private function.
Excellent food,excellent service and atmosphere.
Sympathy and professionalism.
It's a mandatory place to go.
Simply the best in town...
Incredible experience. Richard was fantastic and the food was perfection. Well done, Sabor.
My husband and I were just here yesterday for his birthday. The food and service we absolutely phenomenal! We will definitely return!
Beautiful atmosphere and amazing food!! Attended a private function on Saturday night top notch all the way. Would highly recommend it!!
Consistently amazing ... never disappoints.
We had the family style dinner. Was not disappointed! The quality and flavour of the dishes were amazing. Plus our server was intuitive and helpful and made our experience even more delightful. We had the oysters, mussels and clams in a tomato cream sauce, shrimp dusted with piri piri, lobster risotto, Arctic Char and halibut and 3 little desserts. Everything was delicious. I am definitely coming back to have steak and lobster.
I eat here every time I come to Edmonton, I love the atmosphere, it’s always great service and the best food. The staff are so polite and have the best recommendations for food- if you have not been you should do yourself a favour and go.
The first time I came here was about 10 years ago, and nothing was very impressive last time. But decided to try it again.
Came here for a table of 2 around 8 pm, and it was still very busy. We ordered:
Mussels in saffron tomato cream $18
Mussels cooked perfectly, but the saffron tomato cream sauce was really flavorful. Our server was very nice and gave us extra buns for the sauce. Highly recommend to try this dish.
Lobster risotto $34
Lobster chopped into bite size pieces and mixed with risotto, couldn’t really taste the flavor of lobster, risotto was cooked perfect, but overall just an OK dish.
Octopus $38
This octopus dish came with baby kale, peppers, onions and baby potatoes. The octopus was cooked perfectly, very soft and still a little chewy but a little too salty. The dish is a little bit on the oily side, but it worth an extra oily in my tummy.
Triple chocolate slab $9
The combination of white chocolate and dark chocolate is well balanced, not too sweet from white chocolate but not too bitter from dark chocolate. The only complain is a scope of ice cream was a little too small.
Definitely would come back again and recommend this to anyone especially seafood lover.
Great restaurant and atmosphere! Food and service was on point. It was unfortunate that the bar under the restaurant was blaring music at 9:00 and was shaking the floor, but what could you do, I guess?
Only comment would be I thought the pork cheek and pork belly were a little under seasoned. The chop was unreal along with the steak and lobster.
This is the place for your next romantic dinner or special occasion. Had the Piri Piri chicken and rack of lamb- portions were huge and perfectly cooked. Particularly appreciated the roasted pickled vegas the side. A good place for special occasions and date nights!
Came upon this restaurant from googling close restaurants to our hotel, the Fairmont in downtown Edmonton. This place had high ratings and an awesome menu and thought to try it. Since it’s a busy time of year and went here last minute they had no room for us so we were told to go to Bodega which is the bar part of the restaurant in front. They serve drinks and tapas. Oh my we were so lucky anyway, my sister and I just ordered an assortment of tapas to share. We ordered olives, baked baby artichokes, oysters and shared the seafood paella which we couldn’t finish it was so big. The food was tasty and if we weren’t so full we would’ve ordered so much more. It’s an awesome vibe place and the food is of great quality and so delicious! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it but please phone ahead and reserve ❤️
I lived in Edmonton for 12 years years (until 2013) and yet this was my first time to Sabor. I travelled to Edmonton for a weekend to visit friends and I was glad that I chose a great restaurant for our get together. There were four of us seated a huge table (they have the biggest tables I’ve ever seen at a restaurant!) and it was easy enough to hold a conversation. The restaurant is much bigger than I expected, and thankfully they don’t squish the tables too close together. Customer service was definitely better than your average restaurant. I know I’m out of the loop on the restaurant scene in Edmonton but I’d put Sabor at the top of my favourite restaurants in the city for sure!
My husband and I hadn’t been to Sabor in years. We made a random reservation and are very glad we did. The piri piri dusted calamari is delicious. We had the octopus and the piri chicken; both amazing. My husband is Portuguese so we were hesitant on trying any of the more traditional dishes as we are used to authentic home cooked version. However, it was so good we might try next time. Good ambiance, professional staff, and exceptional wine & food.
In my opinion this is one of the best restaurants in Edmonton. Also the sister tapas restaurants associated with sabor are also very very good. Can’t think of one thing to weed out to say is a must try because I’ve been 4 times and everything is amazing. Not sure if they have Branzino on their menu all the time but if they do when you go there, try it. You will love love love it!
Sabor is one of my favorite restaurant in Edmonton. It is great for any occasion.
Service is fantastic, Food is awesome and atmosphere is cool to hang out. Very friendly staff!
I go there at least twice a month.
Super fun!
Decided to take a break from the quick stop fast food type places and actually have a proper meal/feast. Hit up a long standing restaurant for some seafood and European flavours. Meats cooked perfectly to bring out the best in the flavours, paired with great sides, and complementary starters/desserts to end the night. Great place for a date night, anniversary or that special occasion but keep the kids away. This is not a place for the little ones. Portion sizes were appropriate for the meal. Left wanting a bit more though...but the wallet didn’t want to cooperate with the stomach ;)
Price: $$$$
Service: 😀😀😀
Food: ✔️✔️✔️✔️
Came here for our anniversary after reading all the good reviews and omg the hype is real! Had some tapas to start, the garlic prawns were cooked perfectly, and the cornbread was crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. For our entrees I had the Three Boars and WOW.. I've never had pork this perfectly cooked! They give you pork belly, cheeks and the tenderloin. It's accompanied by a bed of arugula and some rice and beans risotto style! 10/10. my bf had the bacalhau, with rapini, a medley of vegetables and a cherry balsamic vinaigrette! He said the salted cod (bacalhau) was the star of the dish and it was just packed with flavour.
The food deserves 3.8 to be more precise. :) Calamari was tasty, pork belly was not bad, but a bit too greasy for me, and the grilled eggplant-wrapped tomato and a kind of sour cream sauce inside tasted so-so to me. The dishes are prepared with popular North American sauces or seasoning instead of olive oil based seasoning. Tapas should be a bit sophisticated with more layers of taste and better presentation. Do I talk too much? hahaha
My first overall experience was very memorable for my boyfriend's birthday. Sabor had live music, dim lighting, and an overall warm atmosphere. The place was packed and had 2 private functions running on a Saturday night. Seating is limited and I was glad I made a reservation in advance. The food was exceptional; Plated and seasoned perfectly. Our server was extremely pleasant, but was extremely busy with the private function:( I also wish that he could have explained both the food and drink menu better. I only knew it was the Seafood Festival from Instagram, but because I've never been here before, I couldn't tell what was special or what was on the everyday menu. Knowledge goes a long way, and as a consumer I appreciate the heads up!
Came here during Downtown Dinning Week and upon walking in I fell in love with this place. I ended up working sword fish instead of the DDW menu and it was amazing. Check this place out!
My gfs favourite dinner date place. Spanish seafood bursting with flavours. She always gets the paella. But everything we've had is delicious.
Great authentic spanish flavours, and amazing service really made us lifetime customers at Sabor. From The sangria to the paella to the patatas bravas to the Serrano ham - it took us right back to Spain. The service was of such an amazingly high standard and overall it was not as pricey as the site suggests. The two of us had several appetizers a main course and drinks, left full and with take home for $120.
Sabor has been on my list to try for ages, with the price tag being one of the big reasons why I haven't been able to convince a group to go. THANKFULLY a blue moon granted my wish and the group was willing and wanting to spoil our tastebuds a little bit. Which led me to destroy everything I thought I knew about great service and great food. Let me tell you, the whole experience was perfect. Because really, you're dining at Sabor not only for the food but the experience as a whole.
Right beside the ice district, as you walk towards the restaurant *FROM THE PARKADE, you get a great feel of old rustic downtown Edmonton, mixing in with the construction of upcoming downtown. I'm still utterly in love with the brick buildings and how cozy it all feels. Though the evening was blessed with light snow fall along with basically no traffic, which set a very tranquil tone for the night. As we walked through the doors we were instantly impressed with the size, looking in from just the front - the space seems very tight. But once you're inside, the dining room goes on forever.
As we were waiting to get seated, they offered to take our coats, and proceeded to lead us to the second dining room. Disconnected from the the main room, but ideal for larger parties. Service was impeccable, to say the least. I don't remember his name, but he was so awesome. Knowing fully well this was our first time there- he paid close attention to any questions we had about the menu. Also, checking in frequently to see if we needed glasses filled or plates taken away. We ended up staying a little longer than when the kitchen closed and we weren't rushed at all.
Food! 3 of us ended up loving the explanation of the family style dinner that night, with 3 courses for $55, yes please. A mix of Spanish/portuguese cuisine, the menu is literally filled with seafood. The appetizer round had seared scallops on a bed of cucumber salsa -> Scallops were seared perfectly, A light crust on the outside while flakey goodness on the inside, the salsa was a great way of added some acidity and freshness to each bite. Second appi was shrimp with a garden salad- most memorable was the sauce with the shrimp/salad -> tasting more so like a spicy mayo. Scooped up the rest of the sauce with the bread, DELICIOUS.
The main was a serving of 2 different types of fish with risotto. So much food, and everything was literally to die for.
This is probably my longest review, so if anyone of you are still following...I RECOMMEND, obviously.
My boyfriend and I decided to visit Sabor after my parents recommend it to me since it's probably their most frequently visited fine dining restaurant in Edmonton. They had warned us in advance about the terrible parking situation so we parked across the street in a paid parking lot. (I was also told you can park in City Centre's parking lot as well (?)). Upon arrival, the host offered to hang our jackets and the atmosphere was fairly romantic (dim lights, a pianist playing music on a grand piano located inside the dining room, a very cozy and comfortable feel, HIGHLY recommend for a date!). I wasn't all too hungry since I've been eating non-stop for the holidays but I also wanted to be able to sample a couple items off the menu so my boyfriend and I decided to share a couple of dishes rather than getting our own, as we usually do. We started off with the Fresh Mussels ($18) < also recommend by my parents. To my surprise, the mussels were actually huge (in size AND in portion!), the flavour wasn't overwhelming (like most mussel appetizers at other restaurants) and they weren't overly buttery and greasy. SUPER yummy and bouncy too (not overcooked and mushy). Next up was our entrees. We had been curious about squid ink for a while and they offered "Black Pasta" ($28), which is squid ink spaghetti with prawns and seared scallops, all in a cream white sauce. I'm a fan of white sauce but usually towards the end of the meal, my tastebuds get a little overwhelmed and my stomach feels a little heavy but everything with this dish was also done perfectly. The pasta was cooked al dente, the seafood was done very well and the sauce was not overly creamy. Our second shared entree was the sablefish ($38) and everything about this dish was done right as well. My only complaint would be the addition of the black olives to the dish because I'm not a fan of black olives but that's more of a personal preference than anything. For my birthday, the cheesecake was brought out on a plate with Happy Birthday written on the side of the plate and a candle on top of the cheesecake slice. The passion fruit coulis was pretty sour so if your tastebuds can't handle sour tones, I'd recommend the cherry instead. I didn't realize we had sat in for two hours but the server, service and ambiance had made it all so enjoyable that I was in no rush to leave the restaurant. I would highly highly recommend this restaurant for a date and/or if you're a seafood fan. The restaurant is also connected to it's sister restaurant Bodega which is a tapas restaurant, so this place would also be fitting for light drinks and quick bites as well. Would definitely come back!!
Hands down one of our favourite restaurants in Edmonton! The service is extraordinary, the atmosphere is lovely (the live music on weekends is a very nice touch) and the food is ALWAYS amazing. This is by far our "go-to" place when we want to get out for a nice meal and date night without the kids. Price is well worth what you get.
Apparently had to check this place out because @devanlarson said so. Good thing we checked this spanish/portuguese restaurant out though because it was bombs. Fried Calamari dusted with piri piri tasted great with decent breading and even better squid. Seafood was really on point here at Sabor as the Lobster Risotto and Seafood Paella didn’t disappoint. Every spoonful of Risotto had large chunks of lobster in it and definitely had me thinking of the next time i’d come back to eat this dish. Seafood Paella had large pieces or prawns, scallops, calamari, mussels and clams all on a bed of saffron rice. It’s a salad of the sea and it was worth the price tag to share when compared to other share platters at other restaurants in the downtown area. Three Boars was grilled wild boar chop, braised pork cheeks, roasted pork belly and brazilian-style fiejoada with wild boar bacon on top of rice. This dish had so much tenderness and different flavor for the various cuts of pork that it’s a dish not worth missing here at Sabor. I usually don’t talk about dessert but I couldn’t leave out this Tiramisu. It was the best i’ve had in years and was served in a place that wasn’t Italian.
Located on 103st near Rogers Place, this place has a great ambiance that matches it’s delicious food. Service was surprisingly fast and the live music was a nice touch. I can’t wait to have the lobster risotto in my life again. IMU :( Sal says: Just Eat It

My girlfriend told me for the longest time to go to Sabor and we finally did. Finding parking can be a major pain especially with all the construction going on in the area but we got lucky. We had a reservation and was welcomed by the most stand offish guy I have probably ever met. Not rude but not friendly in the slightest. Thank God our server was delightful but I wasn't there for the people, I was there for the food. The restaurant is nice, very grand and spacious with lots of private rooms which is perfect for functions.
My girlfriend and I weren't sure on what to order so we went on a whim and got their family style dinner, which is $55 per person (minimum 2 people). Pretty decent value I would say. The selection for the night to start was their Peri Peri Prawns and their Calamari. The Prawns sat on a "Peri Peri" aioli. It was delicious but I prefer if it was a bit spicier. I like that heat from Peri Peri but it wasn't really there. The Calamari on the other hand was perfectly cooked, nice and crunchy on the outside and nice and moist in the centre. For the main we got 2 pieces of Sablefish and 2 pieces of Sea Bass on top of Lobster Risotto. One of my favorites types of fish, Sablefish. It has the most amazing buttery texture and worked tremendously well with the risotto. Nice chunks of Lobster in there as well, little stiffer for me personally as it was a tad runny but it was tasty nonetheless. The sea bass was nice as well. And finally for the dessert we got a trio of cheesecake, cayenne pepper chocolate mousse and their version of a flan. Everything was nice to sample and tasted nice but me and my girlfriend were so full so we didn't really get to enjoy the desserts much.
Overall it was a very delicious meal. The ambiance/setting is very nice and almost romantic. A nice place I would say for a date.
This is the place for your next romantic dinner or special occasion. A live piano/guitar play softly in the background. Fresh shrimp or scallops to start. Mixed orange/yellow/red Tomato salad also great with a tangy vinaigrette. And mains - haven't had a bad one yet but favourite is absolutely the rack of lamb. Portion sizes are ideal for sharing so if you both order something you will both like - you double your palate pleasure. A bit pricey for everyday dining but it's worth it.
Had the piri piri chicken and rack of lamb- portions were huge and perfectly cooked. Particularly appreciated the roasted pickled veg as the side. Sangria was also great. Only downside is we didn't have room for dessert!
Went here for a date/anniversary with my boyfriend and it was really nice. A bit noisy that night in my opinion, but maybe because there was a wedding party there. We ordered the combo for two... Lobster risotto was delicious! It's a more expensive restaurant but the food comes in good portion sizes. A good place for special occasions and date nights!
Quick summary: Perfect for date night! Romantic and amazing food!
Favorite dish: Lobster risotto with sable fish and sea bass.
Don't forget to check out our blog for the full review! :)
My wife and I came here for dinner one evening after hearing rave reviews from one of our friends. We were not disappointed. Our meal consisted of the lamb salad and flatbread to start and the lobster risotto and gnocchi for the mains. Each item was cooked perfectly and incredibly flavourful. We also had some refreshing non-alcoholic drinks made for us. All in all a fantastic experience and we hope to come back soon.
SO good. Me and my boyfriend had a date night here, we ordered an appy, two main courses and dessert. Everything was SO good. It is a bit of a higher price point but it is honestly worth the money. The service was very professional and attentive as well.
So happy!
Looking for something "different" for dinner, my wife cued on Sabor.
So happy that she did.
Rich. Warm. Inviting.
Complete with talented musician on guitar (didn't get a good look).
Service was fantastic and very personable.
Butter and bread arrive with drinks to start.
For apparizers we shared orders of Grilled Sardines and Portugese Chorizo.
Wonderfull! Solid value. Great presentation (Chorizo even arrived on fire...literally!). Just great, delicious dishes.
Our mains consisted of Seafood Paella and the Pork Trio.
Amazing. Again a fair value. Impecable quality and rich flavors.
Total for the four dishes, one rum and coke and a pop was ~$110 before tip.
We will ne back.
The menu was full of offerings we are looking forward to indulging in!
We had the pleasure of dining at Sabor on November 8 for my husband's birthday with our son & his lady. We were totally impressed from the time we walked in and the friendly greeting we got when we arrived! We were promptly seated and greeted by Shannon who made our evening such a great dining experience. We had drinks and were served promptly & with a smile.
We ordered the "family style"dinner for 3 and our son's GF ordered paella. The appitizers were prawns in piripiri sauce and tuna on cucumber salsa and we ordered an additional appie of sardines. All were fabulous and the prawns were enormous! The main course was Chilean Sea Bass and Halibut on Lobster risotto. Huge portions and DELICIOUS!! Allie ' s paella looked fantastic (will have that next time) and loaded with seafood! The fellas said the rice was pretty spicy and as I don't do spicy - I passed! Dessert which was part of the family style meal was unbelievably good! There was tiramisu, chocolate mousse, creme caramel, a mango cheesecake & a cherry cheesecake all presented with a candle in honour of hubby's birthday! And then we all had cappuccino to go with! And little did I know there was such a thing as decaffeinated cappacinno! The first my hubby has ever had! And for another first - we were all served complimentary port and none of us had ever had it before! Was wonderful! Then it was time to get the bill and although it was a little on the high side not as expensive as we thought it would be! A pleasant surprise! So all in all - it was a wonderful meal at a lovely and pleasant restaurant! We shall return for sure! Thanks for a great evening Sabor!
Classy with a "family" feel.
What used to be Sabor Divino, has been re-branded just a little over a year ago to just be "Sabor". Chef Lino and his childhood friend, Christian decided to work together on their culinary dream. Lino and Christian are from Portugal and grew up surrounded by seafood. Sometimes Christian can be heard singing a tune or two with the live pianist... It's a treat - that man has pipes!
So not only is the atmosphere lovely with the live music and the family style dining, but they are also reaching out to be sustainable. The Seafood Festival is during the month of August only and it is delicious! They have just partnered with OceanWise from the Vancouver Aquarium to bring you fresh, sustainable seafood choices.
The servers here are always attentive and friendly.
Since seafood is in Chef Lino's blood, I highly recommend any of the seafood dishes on the menu. The scallops are superb!
Looks like my next wedding anniversary celebration location.
Once inside for dinner after enjoying wine and an appy at Bodega, we ordered the Seafood Festival Price Fixe Menu that they offered for $55 per person. We started with seafood in a white wine garlic sauce. It was out of this world! I don't normally eat bread but the sauce was so good that we finished our plate of bread and ordered a second one so that we could sop up all of that excellent sauce. The seafood was also excellent, plump and fresh.
The next dish was probably the best salad I have ever enjoyed. The flavours, the herbs and the freshness were just amazing. Totally delicious.
As our main course, we enjoyed halibut and scallops on a lobster risotto. I was really looking forward to this dish. The seafood was cooked perfectly as was the risotto. I personally, however, enjoy a creamy risotto vs. one with a tomato like sauce so this wasn't my favorite but only because of personal taste. My friend loved it and was able to take a generous portion home for lunch the next day.
We had a lovely trio of desserts as well - creme brulee, cheesecake with strawberry sauce and a chocolate mousse. All were excellent and my friend enjoyed a great cappuccino. Overall a lovely evening and a wonderful meal.
Ate an amazing meal here tonight. Service was excellent, food was exceptional. Our group is into sharing and every plate was very good. Seafood was super fresh and really high quality. We even managed to find a little bit of room for dessert which was very tasty. Highly recommend Sabor for special occasions or any time you want good food.
Looking for tapas in downtown and I found Sabor! I love the atmosphere there and the food are nice. We got seafood paella and it was tasty with a golden colour risotto. We also got two tapas, grilled octopus and peri peri chicken, though others on the menu also looks great. I love the black olive sauce from the octopus tapas! Only one thing I should say is that for people who want to lose their weight tapas is with too much oil. But I will still go for it next time!
Best dining experience in Edmonton thus far! Food was amazing and the service was perfect! If I have any criticism, it would be one of the employees serenading the dinners; quite unessesary I thought. Not to mention cheezy.
My boyfriend and I ate at this restaurant on a Wednesday evening. I did however make reservations as I also receive points on the open table app when I do. Upon first entering we were greeted right away and taken to a table along the side. The decor and lighting were classy. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable and was able to recommend great wine options. We had the pork belly clams as an appetizer, I enjoyed that it had a little kick to it. For the entree I had the cornish hen, it was a large portion with two pieces and was a fair enough portion for the price. My boyfriend had the chinook salmon which he enjoyed and I also got to try as well. Overall it was a good experience, the prices were fair enough for the portion sizes and the food was delicious. Will have to come back to try other menu items!
In the past year a lot has changed at Sabor for Christian Mena and Lino Oliviera, the proprietors of this downtown Edmonton restaurant. Sabor has been renamed and rebranded, their third restaurant Urbano Pizza Co. has opened next door, and Sabor has become 100% Ocean Wise approved. That's a big list of accomplishments for one year, but the Ocean Wise certification is one of the most exciting for their annual seafood festival
Sabor is right around the corner from the hotel I was staying at in downtown Edmonton but it initially escaped my notice as most of my explorations thus far had been in the other direction. I passed it on my way back from lunch one afternoon and, after I saw that it has a Tapas menu, I switched my original supper plans and came here instead…
I thoroughly enjoyed having dinner here. The atmosphere is great and their service is amazing. I had their three pork dish for dinner and it was very enjoyable. I will definitely go back again and often.
Always wonderful. For lunch, I recommend the Tagliatelle and Prawns.
This is a beautifully romantic restaurant in the evening, perfect for celebrations. Service is excellent, and on our particular night, the live Spanish guitar was beautiful (especially when he played Metallica covers).
Because it was a celebration, we ordered the set menu. Every dish was wonderful, and my sweet tooth really enjoyed the trio of mini desserts.
Lovely service, food and wine! Only made r for tapas although so will have to plan to make it for dinner or lunch opening! A very interesting lunch though, it has been:) recommended for a nice wine and tapas date like I with a good friend
Great location.
Great atmosphere.
Great menu and wine selection.
The owner is from Belgium and brought a very unique perspective to Edmonton.
Don't be surprised if it's full. It's beautiful.
My favourite restaurants have great food and a great atmosphere. Sabor has both. The pork belly sounds like something you would not typically order but I did and it was unbelievable. Prepared perfectly and so tasty. The passion fruit topping on their cheese cake is the best. I don't know of another place in the city that would have this. I have now gone twice in the last 7 days.
Overall, still a delightful place for a special evening out, delicious food with excellent execution of their seafood!
Lunch Review. I've been there a couple of times for lunch and have never left disappointed with the meals or the service. Usually dining with a group during the week and I have never heard anything but praise for the food with a variety of meals chosen by the group. Sure, prices are a bit higher, but not overly so considering what hits your plate. Not somewhere I would go regularly but for an special occasion (or on someone's expense account) you won't go wrong.
Divino!. Sabor Divino is a cut above. Yes, you are going to pay more for your visit here. The quality, service and decor are why. Took my wife here with a group of 10 for a birthday dinner and was not disappointed. We sampled some of the starter dishes and took on the seafood platter which was massive. Sabor offers a higher grade of dining. If you want a beautiful night out with stellar food and you don't mind spending a little extra, this is the spot.
Urbanspoon needs a better rating system. This restaurant outperforms so many restaurants with sub-par food by every measure. But because your bill is most likely to be bigger than other restos, the comments here are more critical. In my opinion, even 7dollar sign restos in this town don't have the level of customer service and professionalism Sabor Divino strives to present. Happy that we have this restaurant in Edmonton...... Seriously.
Awesome food!!! Lamb salad and risotto lobster are mandatory ;) Great decor and service too!!
Fabulous food. We found our new favorite restaurant. The food was incredible and the service professional and excellent.
Highly recommend this restaurant. Great service, exceptional quality of food and a warm atmosphere. Seafood was fresh and the lobster risotto was so good, huge pieces of delicious lobster, yum!
Great food, service and ambience. I think Sabor is the most consistently great Edmonton restaurant. The food is of the highest quality, presented with flair and attention to detail. The menu has a good selection of food such that all should be able to find something great to eat. The style is Mediterranean/Portuguese, with an emphasis on wonderful seafood as well as pork and beef.
The service is attentive, prompt and friendly. The staff is knowledgeable about food in general and the menu in particular. The food arrives in a timely fashion but without the pressure on often feels to allow the place to turn the table one more time. The wine list is complete without being overbearing. One can always find a suitable bottle.
The desserts are a revelation and come in sensible sizes.
This is a professional restaurant, run by professional people. I have been several times and always leave well pleased. I recommend it to all.
Quality food and Service. The staff at Sabor provides you with the most incredible dining experience. They are friendly and are always smiling, especially Pamela- she is a great waitress, easy to talk to and very friendly! The food is also incredible. My two favorites are the Piri Piri chicken and the piri piri shrimp. The chicken is moist and succulent with the right amount of spice, and the shrimp is juicy and is always perfectly cooked. They have a great wine and dessert menu. The ambiance is romantic and warm! LOVE this place. Hands down the best food in edmonton
It was a Saturday night and there was 8 of us dining together. We saw some table having bread before their meals. We had our salad that came with our main course. I finally asked our server if they still serve bread. He stated that " they only serve it if costumers ask for it because of too much bread wasted". In my mind, really? But he never even asked us if we wanted it. He finally served us bread ( one small basket) , and after a few minutes, we asked for more. For a high end restaurant, I think they should ask costumers and give options to clients. Not impressed at all.
Delicious. I have recently moved close by and was excited to try it. This is a big room, not cozy but still a nice feel. Overall our meals were really good, my fish was not over cooked (as is so often the case) but could have been seasoned a bit more. Servings were generous and priced well. We did not feel rushed and enjoyed the atmosphere. Our server was very nice, efficient. The wine list here is beautiful, I was pleased to see some harder to find varietals.
Delish. Wonderful food! I had the sea bass and it was exquisite!!! The service was calm & relaxed . My friend had the steak with portobello mushrooms-they were goooood. Desserts were nice as well.
We will go back.
Lunch. Been here fro lunch several times and never been disappointed. Service a little slow but busy place food made up for it. Outstanding food never been disappointed yet
Incredible. First time I tried this restaurant was last weekend. It has been on my "to try" list for quite sometime and it was absolutely incredible. Staff are very knowledgable, attentive, and provide very good service. Food was impeccable....I don't even think words could do justice for how fabulous the food was. Great atmosphere...nice and quaint. I HIGHLY recommend going here. It is a bit on the pricier side but it is worth every nickle!
Always great food!!. I have just joined this site, but have been going to Sabor davino for years. Always have amazing food!! Will continue to visit regularly
The evening began with a warm welcome. Once escorted to our table, we were introduced to our server. Throughout the evening there were well timed, strategically selected interludes of brief but sincere inquiry by Host. The Prawn appetizer was delicious, tender, spiced to perfection, with greens perfectly drizzled with a high quality balsamic vinnegarette (some can be too salty). The ceasar salad was delicious (I am partial to anchovies and could have had I bit more trace of it) but most would say perfect. The Sea Bass was cooked to perfection. Not a second too long, The Stealhead Trout was delish and the vegetables flavoured nicely with perhaps a hint of saffron. A lovely dinner and atmosphere indeed.
Upscale Lunch. Went to Sabor for lunch. It hit all the right spots! Great service! Better food! Wonderful Atmosphere! One doesn't mind the price point, when it all comes together. It's worth checking out.
Amazing as always!!. I am a HUGE Sabor DiVino fan and its because of their ability to consistently impress! The food is always amazing and I have NEVER received poor service. I have dined there numerous times where there has been up to 15 of us to even just myself for an appy and glass of wine. As a solo guest, the staff made me feel at home. We celebrated my birthday there this year and there were 12 of us. It was a set menu which I had worked closely with Christian (owner) to choose. He was very accommodating for allergies and intolerances and we all had a wonderful evening. Lino (Chef) takes tremendous pride in the food he creates and has never disappointed. If you are looking for a great dining experience, Sabor DiVino is a perfect choice!!
Simply divine. Great food, great service, great for lunch, great for dinner...and then there is the wine...delightful.
I loved the service. Fast and effective. The atmosphere is amazing and classy with the jazz. The smoked duck carpaccio is divine and I enjoyed my paella. The portion was large enough that I got mine to go. Wonderful experience....
Consistently great. Best Lasagna
Best Beef Stroganoff
Best Grilled Salmon
Great soups
Good lunch prices.
The service was amazing. The food and wine reccomendations were great, and the live music was something we are still talking about. My boyfriend and I decided to have a fancy dinner date and the atmosphere was so warm and welcoming. We had three courses and there was not a single thing I would change. 100% satisfied with the experience.
