First of all, restaurants that are open in the area were very little (almost none other than this). So, nine of us visited Downhome Delights for lunch in a weekend. The venue: It’s a clean, little spot but can accommodate about 30 people at once. The staff: The staff is quick and very attentive. Food: They didn’t have cod on the day we visited. We had trout fillet and ceased salad. That was amazing. Their chips were also good, fresh and flavourful.

Air conditioning. Clean. Good service. Apple Feta Salad was delicious and fresh. Steak was thin yet nicely grilled. Veggies were fresh and lightly cooked. Fries with the works were huge. Turkey Dinner, likewise. Partridge Berry Cake with Rum Sauce was tasty, too.

August 18th Hands down best ribs we've ever had. Fall off the bone tender and delicious. Squid rings are done in their own batter recipe and again, some of the best we've ever had. The waitress was super personable and friendly. Had breakfast here two years and was very disappointed to learn they no longer open for breakfast. A definite place to eat if you're visiting the Eastport peninsula.

If you are ever anywhere near this area, stop here for a meal. Four of us had a delicious meal. Mine was fish and chips, the best I've ever had! The flaky white cod was So fresh, and had a light, golden batter; the fries were crispy on the outside, done perfectly; topped off with delicious home made tartar sauce. The staff were super efficient and very friendly. The food arrived quick, and hot. Strongly recommend this place!!

Our fish and burger were cooked perfectly. The fries, although home made and tasty, could have been cooked a little longer. The staff was friendly, the place was clean and the food didn't take long to be prepared and served.

One of only two restaurants open in the tiny (and lovely) village of Salvage. Had really nicely done pan fried codfish, and they also make a good salad. Plus they have all the deep fried and gravy smothered stuff you could possibly want. Try the codfish. There’s a lot of fancier places that cannot do it as well
