My office loves going to this place every once in a while on cheat day. However we go rarely because it is quite pricey for a pretty small bagel sandwich. Packed with flavor and fresh ingredients. I definitely recommend the chicken salad sandwich. It's by far my favorite there and they add grapes that add a wonderful sweet flavor to the savory chicken salad.
The only reason it's a 4/5 is because the price. The food is fantastic
Island Bagel has done something terrible to me. They have made it so I can never eat another bagel that isn't from them ever again. Why are their bagels so damn good!!!! And don't even get me started on the pickles!!!!!!!!!!! My new love in life!!
Back in " Bagel Heaven". Heard about the orange cranberry bagel a few years ago and finally took the time to find it on an up island day trip. I took an assortment home and really enjoyed the flavor combination and texture, especially the orange cranberry and apple cinnamon. $14 a dozen isn't inexpensive but after having them toasted with cream cheese or butter for breakfast you won't care. Absolutely amazing. Very pleasant young lady serving us rounded out the visit.
Real good soups and vegetarian/vegan alternatives. Sometimes long waits standing in counter line.
Worth It. I love Island Bagel! I think the the customer service is great. Sometimes a little slow, but always friendly. Their prices can often be pricey, though. But nothing outrageous and I think the price is worth it for local, organic products.
My regular order is just a simple "everything" bagel with cream cheese, and always a pickle on the side. It's only $3, very filling, and the bread is unlike anything I've tasted before.
The first time I went to island bagel it brought me back to the days when my mom would walk the dogs over to Mount Royal Bagel and bring home fresh bagels for breakfast.
However, over the years this place has become less impressive. The bagel-wichs are good, but I wouldn't buy a dozen bagels unless you plan on freezing them or eating them all that day. They tend to go stale very quickly. I think this may have something to do with their natural ingredients.
The service can be hit and miss, and so can the food. I sometimes find it a bit over priced. Overall I do go back. I love bagels, and their cinnamon buns are to die for! but you can probably only eat half of one in a sitting.
Love it!. Everything here is so good. Its always busy at lunchtime, so be prepared to wait. The bagels and sandwiches are excellent and there is a nice variety of everything. Lots of coffee and juice drinks too.
Wonderful and spacious place with an excellent selection of treats! Had a delicious carrot cake and espresso in their air conditioned dining room.
Great place to have breakfast! What they lack in service ( clearly ), they more than make it up with their FOOD! Yummy breakfast bagels.
THE BEST BAGELS I HAVE EVERY HAD! (MONTREAL BAGELS DON'T EVEN COMPARE) THEY HAVE SO MANY DIFFERENT OPTIONS TO CHOOSE FROM AND THE SELECTION OF ADD INS IS ENDLESS. ADD A PICKLE TO JAZZ IT UP.
