Review Pegasus Grill - Duncan

For a one woman operation today this was a great meal. Very fast. The donair was quite good as well as the fries. If you wanted to step up your game id throw some iceberg lettuce on the donair but besides that it was a great fast lunch. The donair should probably cost closer to $7, this would make amazing, ing drunk food if it was dt vic.

This place has a drive through window and you can order full menu items right at the window! Delicious food... I had the lamb dinner tonight. Superb! They will also give you a menu so you can call your order in ahead of time and if you want specialty dishes you can put your name on a list and they'll call you when the special is on. I'll be back for sure!

Used to have good food, very very disappointed with all of the dishes I ordered. The greek salad was the only palatable item I received, would NOT recommend.

Great tasty food, excellent caring staff, reasonable prices, large helpings, staff following proper protocols (social distancing and wearing masks). Our "close to home" reliable service restaurant. We'll be back!

One of my fave restaurants in Duncan. The service was excellent. The food was awesome. Great prices and portions. We loved the hummus and bought some to bring home. The fries and tzatiki were the absolute best.

The Keftedakia has fantastic seasoning, the greek salad is freshly delicious and the potato is perfectly cooked! The tzatziki is packed with garlic, as it should, but some people may find it too much. Overall very good!! Great service

Shame they are closing after 12 years of service to the community. Greed is a disgusting thing. Outrageous rents, Outrageous small business restrictions. Shame. Great food. Great service. Great price

This place is pretty average.
The service was a little strange, asked me for a drink before my butt had even hit the seat and I hadn't had a chance to look at the menu.
The place is interestingly decorated but having been to Greece a LOT, it didn't feel that Greek or authentic.

I ordered the appetizer platter to share with my friend which had Greek salad, calamari, pita bread with hummus and tzatziki, spanakopita, stuffed vine leaves and lamb. All of it was very nice. The spanakopita was excellent as was the lamb. The pita bread was a massive let down and the stuffed vine leaves were flavourless and had no seasoning whatsoever. The Greek salad was OK but I hated that it was presented in the middle and with only 3 olives on the whole platter.

The price was reasonable though. I would go again to try something else but this certainly isn't a fancy place by any means.

Stopped in on our way back to Victoria. The donair was pretty good. The dressing on the Greek Salad was very delicious. I'd come here again.

Mediocre at best, unfortunately will not go back. I ordered a pizza that tasted ok but it was hard and chewy like it had been cooked before and reheated. When you tapped it on the serving dish it made a loud noise.

Yummy Yummy a Donair's in my Tummy . Not my first visit to Pegasus....not my last! Impromptu mother daughter time over a coffee and a special two for $10 Donair. The food was scrumptious, the coffee was perfect (and kept topped up without the need to ask) and the price was right. I find the atmosphere very relaxing and enjoy that Tammy visits with us. Hadn't been in awhile and still she addressed me by name. I am so very happy to know that business is good. This is a great locally owned restaurant. If you like Greek food and haven't been yet, you owe it to yourself to go soon...you won't be sorry.

-----25 Jan, 2015-----

Great Food Relaxing Atmosphere Love Everything about Pegasus. I've been frequenting the restaurant since it opened. My favourites are the souvlaki, and the donairs. The fries are to die for. The dressing on the Greek salad has amazing flavour. Haven't been disappointed with any dish.

Absolutely love how they keep the coffee topped up (and that it's great coffee!)

Support this locally owned & operated restaurant. You won't be disappointed!
Shelley
ILoveCowichan.ca

Greek lamb is the best! Just don't bother with their Pizzas.. Unless you're a dyed-in-the-wool Brit and like your minty lamb, there are only 2 European countries that can do lamb the right way. Le French and the Greeks!
I'm European and this Greek restaurant reminds me a lot of the way Greek food is served over there.
Before living in Canada, I've had bad Greek several times in the US and shied away from it. 6 years in the Duncan area and I'm sorry to say that I've waited this long to try another Greek.
Pegasus' Greek lamb is fantastic! Juicy, seasoned correctly, hints of lemon, rosemary, garlic without anything dominating.
Just a slow-cooked shank or rib and the rice, lemon-potato, tzatziki sauce & pita sides are just as delicious. Who takes home rice & potato if you can't finish? We do! It's that tasty! Eaten here 4 times since our first try a month ago and plan on trying Souvlaki and either items on the menu once we tire of the greek-lamb and calamari dish :)
Great value on everything we've tried so far.

EDIT Dec-18-2014
Decided to try one of their Pizzas, given how good their Greek food is.
Yikes! Dry, flavourless, doughy! We tried their Meat lovers tonight for take-out and wished we'd have had it in-house, so we could've complained about it. Sorry guys, we love your Greek lamb and Kalamari, but your Pizza is quite awful.

Authentic Greek. I go here at least once a month and try to order something different sometimes but the lamb souvlaki platter is so good I end up ordering it 90% of the time.(dolmades are good too).
They have the best greek salad dressing i've ever had, the lemon potato is good and the rice is perfect.
Slow cooked lamb is tender and non fatty.

Always satisfied.

Yummy Greek Food. Went here a bunch of times with different parties, and every time I have not been disappointed. Their platter for 2 is more like a platter for 4-5, it's HUGE! Although they don't give a free piece of cake to the birthday girl/boy, it was still a delicious experience. Will go back again

Great donair. And Greek salad. I usually ask for extra vinegar and as long as the owner is making it, the food is consistently great. The only time I had a bad meal is when they let a new sous chef touch the food. I noticed the difference right away. Since that person is now gone, the food is very good again and the price for donair and salad is about 9.95, so it's reasonable. The service is always great...

5 stars. I ordered the Roasted Lamb. I was told it was slow cooked for 14 hours and it did not disappoint. The meat fell off the bone. The service was great and everyone was very pleased with both the quality and quantity. I even enjoyed the Greek Salad, which is somethign I usually do not like.
I will be going back!

Tasty, but to much deep fry. Very good restaurant, but not much for a vegetarian unless your having a super deep fried sampler dish, the greek salad is delish though!

Not bad. Food was pretty tasty, a bit heavy on the garlic & onions but not bad. I had a half sized salad with my meal and asked for a few shrimp on it, not a problem, but they didn't tell me it would double the price! lol. Not that I didn't expect some sort of extra charge, but I would have thought that with a price so high there might be some warning. I could tell she wanted to say something but after standing there for an awkward moment she thought better of it and walked away. She was the owner after all, probably didn't want to talk me out of making her a quick buck. I can never get enough shrimp though, it was pretty good.

Superb. We tried Pegasus last night first time and food was excellent, service was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Lots of choices both Greek and western. Reasonable prices for the quality and quantity you receive. FAR outweighs Bravo - this from a long-time Duncan foodie. Highly recommended.

Went for the second time to tonight. Was fantastic. The food is very good, service is good and fast. Had Greek lamb, melts in your mouth, tzatziki is best I have had. Who needs to go to Vic for Greek? Not us anymore. Our new fav place.

Mmmmm. I love luv and My daughters favourite place to stop on the way back home to Vic especially adore the rice pilaf which I am confused about ....I read complaints that people were commenting in regards to the veg mix used in the rice ?? In all Greek restaurants in Vic they all used the same veg combo including cut green beans in the rice( keep using cause its my fav) I have never had anything but a absolute amazing dish filled with TLC and the service is top notch I feel like I am at home. Franks Lamb and Home made split pea soup keeps me craving and my daughter begging for more trips to Duncan... Cheers To you do not change a thing we love your cuisine and will see you soon!

New Favorite Restaurant. Great food, large portions, generous buffet, delicious pizza, reasonable prices -- what's there not to like... oh -- and a good variety of beers. Right off the highway -- this has got to be the best restaurant that's right on the highway between Victoria and Nanaimo.

Pegasus Restaurant, Duncan. Took Mum to Pegasus for Mothers' Day dinner and wasn't disappointed. The place was packed but not noisey. Used to go to Bravo for special occasions and was sad to see it close down. But, never fear, Pegasus is filling the void! Great food, great service, and a much better location. Good place to go for dinner before a show at the Community Centre. Prices are good for the sumptuous and plentiful dishes. We'll be back for both lunch & dinner!

Dinner out in duncan. Love the food and choices, love the service compaird to the recently closed down bravo restarunt. I noticed another comment and i need to let you know that the bravo restaraunt had the same chef...so when you say the food was better, your not telling the truth! But anyhow lol I have to comment on the souvaki dinners very very good size in potion and just plain old yummy. If anyone is craving greek and in the duncan area this place is worth giving a try, youll be back lol. Price wise for the food is very affordable considering you'll have extras to take home. between 10-30 dollars depending on what you get i would say not only a deal but great greek food. The owner was there to greet and meet and she was just a doll. Thank you Tammy for the great experience me and my family will be back!

Pegasus Restaurant, Duncan. My husband took me to dinner here on Saturday before we went to the Victoria Symphony Concert. It was my birthday dinner...
Ok, the service was very good. The food was okay. It was not as good as the greek food at the recently closed Bravo, though it was cheaper. l give this restaurant another try, given the lack of choices in Duncan, but I'm not going to send my friends. A few of my dolmades were "crispy"...from being under a heat lamp? and the rice had "frozen veggies" (you know, peas and square chunks of carrot) in it for colour.......the greek salad was good....
my husband had the buffet - thumbs up to the ribs and the lamb...the meatballs were dry. Look for my next visit....
