Had the pizza from there and was definitely something I would buy again and recommend to others. The crust had a nice subtle garlic flavour and cooked even throughout without being burnt. Had a nice even layer of pepperoni and cheese. Cheese was nicely toasted.
Enjoyed breakfast and supper on opening day! Great to see you guys, all the staff were smiling through the hiccups! Enjoyed the juke box and what a great atmosphere. It was a treat to see Ruby smiling with an apron on again :)

If you're looking for a nice satisfying Pizza when you're hungry, this is the place to go.
The owner is a super nice guy, really friendly with tourist like us.
We got the meat lovers pizza and it was perfect. Not too much of anything, nothing fancy, just the perfect balance.
Give this really unique place a chance! It will be an experience by itself.
Things to know: Takeout only and you need cash.
Edit: They indeed to have debit, just a bug at this time with Roger.
Not many places to eat at around Hideaway Campground, this place had no reviews so we checked it out. The drive in was a little eerie, it was definitely a different vibe from the rest of Cape Breton. My boyfriend claims it was ‘David Lynch/Twin Peaks’ vibes, whatever that means. The man working at the diner was quite friendly, it seems like they do mostly take out. They have a functional jukebox which was fun to play music on. I got the fish and chips, not the greatest but it hit the spot. My boyfriend tried the Donair and it seemed like everyone else was getting that as well. I would recommend that since it is a Nova Scotia food to eat. We also got the garlic fingers which was a thoroughly carby snack for us. They still tasted good hours later with vodka when we were damp, cold and starved at the campground during what seemed like the apocalypse. I enjoyed the diner, definitely won’t forget the overall Dingwall vibe, the nice waiter and the jukebox! I’ve included some pictures I took in the area and the diner.
We arrived close to closing time, but we still received friendly service and a good vegetarian burger and fries. We had a milkshake which was excellent too.
This was a good restaurant. The food was great and the lobster was incredibly fresh! There were not many reviews but enough to convince us to try. I wouldn't give 5 stars though for the following reasons:
- the glasses and plates were not totally clean. That's fine for food but didn't like particles in my water.
- the fries were cold
- they didn't have the donair sauce and the other review got me really excited about this.
- they should have told us how big the subs were!! Two people can easily share this along with some fries and a side.
Still, dont let this discourage you too much--the food is still really really good!
