Review Pinch Of Spice - Delta

Mirch Masala is a great place, organized, clean, quiet to dine in. I go there at least two times a week. The staff are amazing and the food is honestly delicious. I have been to many Indian restaurant. But this one is quite different. The food tests better here. The pricing is good and they have verity of food to offer. Test their butter chicken, right away tells you that they master this dish. Ginger chicken is simply delicious. They have lunch special dishes that is really good and delicious. I have added a picture of lunch special box which costs $15 only to take out and it delicious and that is a lots of food.

Tasty dishes and polite staff. The chat was good to start with, potatoes were cut too big for the chat. Our chicken appetizer was undercooked when served first and was replaced later after talking to our server. The curries were made spicy just as requested and tasted delicious with the garlic naan. Our servers Navdeep & Sara were very sweet and made our experience delightful. Will visit again soon to try more dishes

We just ordered dinner from this place and in the photos below you can see how tandoori rotis looked. When I called the restaurant to complain the manager refused to come on the phone. Finally when I was able to get him on the phone he began by tell me that all tandoori rotis are suppose to be burnt and that I just don’t know what authentic tandoori rotis looks like. This was his way of apologizing. They charge $3 dollars for one burnt tandoori roti. Horrible food and customer service, do yourself a favour and spend your hard earned money some place else. I will never go back!

Quick and efficient service, just the place to go in rush or you are hungry, can't wait. The quality of food is among the top with very good taste. Thumbs up

Delicious and authentic Indian delicacies… reasonable lunch menu and quick service. Best seats are next to the fire 🔥 place. Highly recommended.

I have been going to mirch masala for over 15 years! We moved from surrey to New West and I still make the drive out for food. However over the last little bit their quality has consistently been going down. I understand with COVID everyone is raising their prices and in most cases lowering the quantity of food. To some degree it’s understandable but their quality has been going down hill too. My last three orders had issues with it being burned, too spicy (not following instructions)but I gave them benefit of doubt and didn’t bring it up. With todays order I did share the issue I had with last order just so they don’t repeat it. When I got my order today, one of the dishes was saag paneer. There was literally no paneer in my dish, just spinach. I called them and tried to explain. They wanted me to bring back the item for exchange. I shared that I don’t want to drive out 20 minutes each way plus we already had our meal and don’t need another dish. Our saag paneer was left untouched as my kids like it with paneer. I offered to send my receipt and photo of uneaten food. They declined and offered no alternative. I think some common sense in this case would have helped. How can you expect people to drive back for your mistake. How about just take their word for once, given that they are long term customers? Needless to say I will not be ordering from here anymore. Poor service. Super disappointing!

We ordered Mutton rogan josh, Chicken Korma and their bread basket. The Chicken korma was average. I preferred Mutton rogan josh over it. It was perfect spice wise, the only thing I would change is that make the gravy a little more thicker. However, the breads were total no no. They were soggy when they arrived. The naan breads were super thick! If you're given a store brought naan, you would not be able to tell the difference between the two. Trust me!! I felt as if the breads were pre made which didn't not compliment the gravy items.

Food was not good. Service was horrible. Music was too loud. There was no cutlery on the table as well as no paper towels. We ordered vegetarian dishes but served with chicken instead.

I couldn't believe how horrible the service was nor how bland and tasteless the food was. Was recommended to me..what a joke..on top of playing their dance music way too loud as well. Very disappointing..I'll definitely stick to Tastys excellent food and great service!

We have been here at least 5 times and each time we enjoyed trying new dishes as quality was the same high caliber we expected. My son liked the lamb kebabs while I had the usual delicious bindi.

All their food is amazing I couldn’t find anything that was not good from the things I’ve tried and I’ve trued at least 10-12 things here i would definitely recommend this place to everyone and the new management and owner are too good.

I am a regular customer at this restaurant and honestly was extremely appalled at their service. The food was good but I'm not happy with their service. Firstly, they didnt have enough dinner plates so we had to make do with their small appetizer plates which wouldn't have been an issue if we didnt have to chase the waitresses down for bowls and spoons.... for bowls we were given styrofoam bowls and for 6 people we were given 3 spoons. We had to hunt the waitress down for a cup of hot water which we requested with our order but got it after reminding her of our order. It may not seem like a big deal but for me it was. When I go out for dinner I dont think its uncommon to expect some service. I never keep styrofoam bowls out for my guests when I host dinner parties at my house why should I accept that from a restaurant which is supposed to be professional. I will never return to this restaurant. Tasty indian bistro is usually more busy than this place but their service and food is always top notch.

Video review on my youtube channel: vancity food crew pinch of spice indian cuisine
.
Pinch of Spice was a last minute lunch option since I was in the area. I ordered the Coconut Chicken Curry, rice, and garlic naan. Service was a bit all over the place since they had one girl doing hostess, server, and take out orders. The food itself wasn't overly special or tasty, it was very average. What ticked me off the most was that the online menu, front desk menu, and the menu at the table said a serving of rice is $5. That is kind of overpriced to begin with, but I needed rice. And when I get the bill its $6. Way to gouge people for a literal bowl of plain rice (no peas or anything to season it). Needless to say, the service and food and item gouging all combine for a good reason not to return. Try Tasty Indian Bistro or Spice 72 instead.

If you are looking for yummy punjabi food in surrey, you must visit this place. A fancy restaurant and good quality food is a perfect combination. We tried dal makhni, roti, and chilli garlic noodles here and everything was perfectly made.

Absolutely disgusting place! However, it is excellent if you like to eat dead bugs! Our table was served a pitcher of coke filled with dead fruit flies. Unfortunately, we only noticed multiple bugs after consuming half the pitcher, not knowing how many we had actually eaten. It was horrifying and disgusting and for it all, we did not get a genuine apology. The manager gave a smug look and said "Accidents happen". Never will I come back to this filthy place. Nor should anyone waste their money and time here.

The restaurant can be described as value for money, the high-quality of food and professional service being provided by servers makes you believe that the amount of money you spent on it was right. They have very varied menu with almost all types of food varying from veg/non-veg appetizers and dishes to sea food lovers and delicious desserts menu. Alongwith that beverages and alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks adds to your excellent dining experience.

With regard to the service, I think you will not regret for even a single dollar spent because the service is very quick, the staff is very friendly, attentive, kind, polite and helpful. Even the restaurant manager is a very cheerful guy, you will always feel very delighted in interacting with him and one can easily tell he really enjoys his job which he performs with full dedication.

Please do not back off by reading the negative reviews because perception of experience varies by human nature, according to me you should definitely consider this place before building any particular mind-set.

Overall. I would rate this restaurant as the best restaurant in city both in terms of food and service. Can't wait to visit again.

Awesome Tandoori Fish. Went out with a friend of mine for few drinks. I had really good experience. The atmosphere was very favourable, well spent few hours. Must go and check it out.

Went out with family yesterday on a family day dinner. They were super busy had to wait for 20 min for the table but it was worth it. The guy in the front was very professional, he gave us the table right on time he said. The food was very yummy, especially the paneer tikka masala and mix veg. Naans were super soft, plus there virgin chi chi is very refreshing. Will go back definitely.
Ok food, terrible service.. I don't really see the appeal to this restaurant at all. Nothing really different or unique about their food,

Enjoyed the food. My daughter and I liked the decoration of the restaurant. The food was hot when it came to the table, and was well cooked and tasty. Service was good, but the waitress was a little timid and it was a bit uncomfortable to ask questions. Would go again, and will look forward to trying more of the extensive menu either as take away or eat in.

Really nice looking place. Good job on that. Food was not too bad at all. Sure buttter chicken wasnt their best dish but everyone enjoyed the rest of food. Now ONLY downside was their service. Awkward and quiet.. And even after a nearly $200 bill I left a generous tip and waiter didnt say thank you or anything and just walked away like he was angry about the tip, Did he expect a $100?

Not too bad, service is horrible. Now before I tell u about the two visits i have had to this restaurant let me tell you where it is located. Only a couple of blocks down from Tasty Indian Bistro and Mirch Masala. After reading the review here that seemed to not say much about the restaurant and bit sketchy since they joined the same day the review was made..... i decided to try it out myself on a couple of occasions with different people. The first time i went we were greeted by a man and a server. Im assuming he is the manager. The female server seated us, very nicely decorated restaurant. Not busy at all, actually there was only one other table there, it was during lunch hour. I had my boyfriend order since it was so dim i could barely read the menu. The server was not in fact as educated about the menu as she should have been. Once we ordered, we took a look around. The booth we were seated at had a blue lighting fixed on it so the whole night we barely could see anything. The server brought our food about 30 mins later, quite long since we ordered two apps and one dish, BUT, the food was delicious. We ordered chicken pakoras, malai chicken tikka, garlic naan and palak paneer. Pakoras were crispy and tikka was so easy to cut into! Only issue the naans were really thin and not buttered so they dried out quite fast. Server never came back and never introduced herself so we had no clue what her name was. The man who was indeed the manager was called over because we needed water, he informed us this was his FIRST time managing as before he was a cook. I was shocked that the owners would have such an inexperienced person running there restaurant which is only lacking service. Service is why i gave the rating i did but if you're in town and want to order out this is a good place if you can get past the rest of the issues.

Now heres my second visit to the restaurant, probably the one that changed my mind. I and a few other girlfriends went because i said that the food was good and we were starving and not wanting to look for another restaurant.. We entered and stood there waiting till the two male servers stopped laughing it up with a bunch of guys who were causing a lot of noise. About 5 minutes after, and being ignored my the SAME FEMALE server from my last visit one of the male servers seated us in a booth where the SEATS WERE RIPPED! I asked the server to move us and he said he couldn't. WHAT! It was dinner time no one was there and we still had to sit at a trashed up booth. OWNERS pay attention. In trying to get cheap people to work for you, YOU ARE LOSING MONEY. I have never been back since, oh and this time around the same food i ordered on the first visit was undercooked, the pakoras were all mushy and not crisp and naans seemed like they had been sitting out for longer than i waited for the food. I am in no way affiliated with any restaurant i am going to mention, as you can see i have reviewed them as well, but tasty bistro does better on service is what customers are looking for, not a bunch of kids who are chatting it up with their friends and actually made it difficult for us to even walk past. Hire better service, make more money. You've lost one customer in me.

The food is passable. The starters are much better than the main courses. The service, on the other hand, was APPALLING! There seems to be NO communication between the servers & the kitchen. All the food we ordered was wrong, the young male server seemed unconcerned (or perhaps unable to understand!) why we were bringing it up! I would suggest that you confirm the order twice or three times before letting the server head off to the kitchen!
Food - 5/10
Service - 1/10. Good luck!
