Review Tasty Indian Bistro - Delta

Tiffany
First time coming here tonight with some friends and the food was delicious. The staff here are so polite and welcoming. We sat on the patio and it was getting a little chilly and the manager came out and turned the patio heater up for us. Will definitely be back again.

It’s a popular restaurant and at a price range like downtown Vancouver. I went to the Delta location. I was told on the phone that on weekends they don’t take reservations. It was busy but pleasantly surprised we didn’t have to wait long to be seated. We liked the décor and ambiance, an upscale and trendy feel. Everything we had tasted great, Indian food with a western flair. Although it was a busy night, it did not take too long for our meals to arrive, which was surprising. It was hard to find parking, had to park in next establishment’s parking lot. There is a valet service but did not use it. The only issue I had was with service. The staff is friendly and accommodating. But there are miscommunications or lapses of attentiveness between servers. We did not receive water after being seated, even when we asked for it. We had appetizers arrive, but there were no plates or cutlery at our table. The floor manager noticed this and made sure our entrees went well. However, we had the wrong desserts brought to us, and the floor manager graciously gave a discount. I am glad that the Floor Managers were attentive but if they weren’t, my review would have another star missing.

Took my dad here for lunch and we both really enjoyed it. There’s an $18 /person lunch special that was plenty of food for us. The garlic naan was a nice touch. The lamb curry was a bit too salty for my dad unfortunately but my butter chicken was excellent. Nice decor and friendly staff

Went for dinner first time.It was jam packed but fortunately got the table on short notice. If possible do reserve the table in advance for more comfortable experience. The ambiance is very nice, food was good and service was on point. Highly recommend for a wonderful dining experience.

By far, the best Indian food we’ve had with THE best service. We were visiting from Brampton and have tried many Indian restaurants before, but the quality and flavours of the food here were unique and so rich. The servers also had such amazing service, they were so polite and quick. Definitely recommend trying the bistro out if you’re in the area!

Was there to celebrate birthday with my friends. Place was packed on a weekday as well but we got a table soon. When we informed the waitress about our celebration she directed us to very nice cozy table. She was very friendly and helpful. Loved the food, specially the starters. We ordered Paneer tikka and tandoori momos and was one of the best we have tasted here in mainland. Highly recommend this place.

I ordered the lunch special and it was super tasty. Everything was on point, the lamb curry had a nice spicy kick and the tandoori chicken was moist and flavourful. Little on the pricey side but no complaints in terms of flavour

The food was great. Definitely a fancier experience than the average Indian restaurant. Fyi, mild is still pretty spicy, so if you can't handle the heat, maybe ask for non spicy.

We were so glad to have found this place open around 11ish in the night, after a long day of international travelling, that we could not have asked for more. But our luck was smiling upon us that day, and not just that this place was open but so warm and alive even in those late hours, that it made our day. The Food, Ambience, Music, Servers, Decor, Presentation and what not, Everything was Gorgeous!!!! I and my husband are hardcore Punjabi and thus savor Punjabi food more than anything else but we also don't like to compromise on the set up that we pay for. Luckily this place had a huge balance of authentic taste yet classy and cheerful ambience. All in all, a thumbs up for this chic place. We ordered the dinner platters (both veg and non veg) with three different choices of curries, rice, raita, naan and dessert. Both the platters were neat, fresh, filling and stunning and of course delicious.

Some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had. The staff is attentive and fun, and the food simply rocks. Lots of vegan options. I’ll be back!

The restaurant’s atmosphere and food is amazing and the service great. It also good to mention our server Rayna, she was very helpful in guide us throughout our Indian dinner experience. Thanks. Totally recommend it.

We love everything about this place..... the food, ambiance, decor, music and service!! Our waitress Sadaf is amazing and always goes out of her way to make our visits fantastic and very memorable. No brainer when it comes to Indian food!!! Exceptional service, mouth watering menu and an tasteful interior. Would drive over an hour just to eat here.
Ricky Cheema
Please order your food before 11:30 pm... if you hungry please order ur naan at once... if you order again their kitchen will be closed... but if we go to any Dhaba in Sonipat they will take order for roti or naan

Got there early to avoid line up. Food was outstanding. We had let the server chose some dishes for us. Left very full and happy (and happier when we saw the lineup we avoided by going early)!

The bar is excellent, very good variety of wines, vodka in the bar. The food had been magnificent; especially fish and chicken. The customer service has been superb.

I like the place because of good service and good food. All over good experience.

Best way to describe this restaurant is that it is like an Indian version of Cactus Club. I came here with my family as a group of 6. We ordered fish pakora, tandoori chicken, butter chicken, coconut chicken curry, fish curry and mango lassi. The food is all really good with the standout dish being the tandoori chicken - very tender! Garlic naan was also better than your average Indian restaurant.

I am giving it 4 stars because we had to wait 1 hour to be seated. They do not take resos unless you have a group of 8. Waiting 1 hour for indian food in Delta seems pretty ridiculous to me, especially since we pass through Surrey to get to Delta, and there are so many good Indian restaurants in Surrey too. I would not come all the way again unless I have a reservation.

More on my blog: https://sincerelyloewe.com/tasty-indian-bistro/

If you search the "10 best Indian restaurants in Surrey BC", Tasty Indian Bistro (TIB) should be on the top 5 of the list. We explore most of the famous and local restaurants in our neighbourhood, unlike most of the food bloggers we rarely cross the city. TIB has such high-rank reviews, so we decided to drive out from our comfort zone. We remember a blogger has said, "if you get satisfied with the food and service at Happy Hour, then it must be a restaurant which worth to try." We think we find one in Surrey. We definitely will go back.

Happy Hour is from Monday-Saturday 3-6 PM and 10-close, and all day Sunday.

We ordered Spicy Chicken Bites and Devils Drum Sticks. If you can't take the heat or prefer to go crazy on it, you can ask the server to adjust your spice level. We had a wonderful experience. Overall, TIB is a great Indian restaurant with excellent food and service.

Tasty Indian Bistro has two locations. Food is good, but the portions are very little servings for the price. It’s a total ripoff for the amount of food you get. There food isn’t anything that crazy where they have to over charge on everything rather just eat Indian food at a cheaper spot and get the same flavour and not have to eat here and then go to McDonald’s after since the portions are a joke.

My wife chose this location for lunch today after going here with a coworker and thought I’d like it, she was so right. I compare this 5 star experience to going to Gotham Steakhouse in Vancouver. The restaurant has comfortably dim lighting, regal colours, and unobtrusive music creating a wonderful environment.

The staff has a first class manor, from the way they dress and speak speak to other staff and patrons to slow deliberate movement through the room. They introduce themselves by name and make service feel like a personal experience, like you are the most important customer they have.

I can’t say enough good things about the food. I ordered three favourites from their menu and everything was the best I have ever tasted. The fish and chicken were perfectly cooked and seasoned. I followed my wife’s lead and ordered my selections medium instead of hot so we could share everything and it was hot enough to enjoy that wonderful spicy burn while still being able to taste all of the flavour of the protein.

This location just took the spot of my favourite indian restaurant in the lower mainland. I will absolutely be returning in the future.
Anton B
Server was very helpful choosing what to order and I was genuinely pleased with the food. Everything was absolute top class and just the right spiciness level. Turned out just over $20 per person which is completely normal for an upscale classy Indian restaurant such as this. I'd come back over and over.

This review is for their recently opened yaletown location. The customer service at this location is unparalleled. In that I’ve never once experienced a manager who has been more rude and more disrespectful to their customers. We were told it would be a maximum of a one hour wait and how to go about putting our name on the list. We were then told after an hour and a half that we did not go about reserving our place correctly and were then treated with nothing but hostility rather than sympathy and understanding. Everyone knows tasty bistro has extremely long waits. That was not our issue. Our issue was with being treated like we were unworthy of their restaurant rather than taking the respectful, hospitable route and simply apologizing and saying they would get us in as soon as possible. I’ve always been a fan of tasty bistro and find their delta location to be well above par to other restaurants. I will never return to their yaletown location and would much rather support the staff and crew at the delta location.

Everything tasted burnt! I heard a lot of good things about this restaurant and when we couldn't get into the Tandoori Flame, we opted for this restaurant. The decor and ambiance was elegant and trendy but the food didn't meet our expectation. Maybe its because we didn't know what to order but the dishes we chose just weren't the same flavourful Indian dishes I'm used to. The naan bread was burned, the grilled fish tandoori tasted burnt, salty and dry, the sauces weren't impressive but we all liked the starters chilli chicken bites and chicken wings (which were drumettes and not wings). The only thing memorable was the starters.

A restaurant that oozes class and serves high quality delicious food. Every dish I have tried has surpassed the offerings of other establishments. Superb!

Went at 6:30. Place was already busy. We were seated right away. We ordered lamb korma, coconut curry chicken, and their tasty meal. Food took about 10 minutes to be served. Food was not too spicy for me but you could taste the different spices. Waitress was not intrusive but very responsive. She did keep an eye on us and never left us waiting for her. Meal cost about $60. I waddled home. When we left, there was a waiting list to get in. The food was great. Staff was great. Very pleased with my evening. Would highly recommend.

Nice place for get together with family friendly environment. Best indian dishes in surrey. But parking space is very congested which makes it difficult for bigger groups.

Wow. I had two strangers recommend this place to me in one day. I’m so glad I listened to them. This was bar none, some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had. The spices were perfect, the staff fun & helpful, and the vibe (on a Monday night) was excellent. I love that they have several vegan options. The yellow dal fry was outstanding. I’ll be back!

We love everything about this restaurant the food, service, hospitality everything... the only thing I have an issue with is finding parking... their parking lot is really small

Threw a private birthday party of about 20 people, and the service, food, ambiance was EXCELLENT.
The place looks more like a upscale casual restaurant (like cactus club), they had a DJ spinning music and bar tender making fire shots/entertaining guests behind the bar. The place was jam packed with lineups from 7pm- midnight (when we left).
The food presentation was so impressive and everyone loved what they ordered. The chef even came out of the kitchen and personally introduced himself and described his special for the night. Our waitress was lovely (petite girl with blue eyes and super white skin) and did an excellent job. They kept bringing us shots/drinks and our water glasses were never empty. Everyone had a great time and left very happy.
Kathy
very delicious food. service was great. a bit pricier, but worth it. the parking lot is a bit cramped, but overall must go here, it's amazing

This is the best Indian food in the area. You'll pay a bit more, but it will be worth it. Great atmosphere/decor and all the food was well prepared and very tasty.

Reminded me of a Cactus Club with Indian food! I loved the food, however I would say you would have to pay a bit for the food compared to your average Indian restaurant.
Dinuka_samara
Great atmosphere, good drinks, delicious food (small portions though) but the fact they don't take reservations and the seating process is disorganized makes it less attractive. We waited an hour before we were seated because the woman who took our phone number to call us when our table was ready wrote the wrong phone number down and couldn't contact us. Everyone waiting for a table stands around at the entrance making it congested. Small things that can be fixed easily to take this restaurant to the next level.

I was here this evening for a staff gathering. The staff had just finished setting out table as I walked in. As I sat down, I noticed that the table wasn’t cleaned properly. There was caked on food on our table, not to mention it was set up so obscurely that it was in the middle of the isle. When I opened the menu, I noticed that the prices were more then what is shown on here. While eating, I noticed a server setting up a near by table. As she was doing this, she grabs the cutlery from the part you put in your mouth. Ick, I don’t know where your hands have been, FYI when setting a table, grab and place cutlery from the stem. The food was very good. I will go back, but hope that they clean the joint better

Edit to my review: took my husband here yesterday and the staff were professional and food was great. Every thing was full of flavour. The staff was professional this time around. They were professional.

Wonderful decor and service.
Sarson ka saag outstanding, prefer the tandoori roti to the naan and the dishes were not very oily and that is perfect. Channa Batura and mango lassi awesome if in a snacking mood.

I have dine in this wonderful restaurant 4 times in 2 months , I enjoy the atmosphere and the food that is served, it’s one of the best places that I have visited:)

This is my first choice every time I go to Surrey, nice dinning place with great food! I tried all different things on the menu, haven't found one I don't like it!
Alex
Some of the best Indian food that you can find in surrey or delta hands down. Butter chicken is phenomenal and they spice your dishes to your liking.

Outstanding! Despite the curious choice of a name, this was an excellent experience all around.
Starting with their service and hospitality; which all staff involved was on the mark and happy to do so. The two of us were delayed to join our group of eight but told them to go ahead and order without us. 20 minutes later when we arrived and ordered, all our meals arrived together! In addition to this, our glasses were never empty of the drinks we ordered.
All ten of us ordered a variety of main dishes, and everyone was happy or extremely impressed with quality and quantity. The meals were all delicious within range of being traditional recipes and authentic.
Will we return again? A definite and resounding YES!

This place is awesome, such a great atmosphere, food is good and soo is the service, take out portions are huge, big recommendation from a curryholic .

• ample amount of parking, but gets really busy and packed after 6pm daily
• 15-20 minute wait time if you don't have any reservation
• friendly, quick, efficient service. I like it when servers just refill your water or ask you if you need another drink without you asking them, great initiative on the service guys
• Now, let's talk about food. Food is excellent! This is my favourite Indian restaurant in the lower mainland. Nothing beats this place. The spices are amazing, it doesn't make my stomach upset like the other restaurants do. Good texture, taste is out of this world.
• Naan is good, garlic naan is better but Paneer naan is the best!!! I can't explain, just order it!
• Chicken Vindaloo is what we always get and never fails to disappoint me
• Chicken Karma - mild creamy gravy and spices
• Chana Masala - chick peas
• Mutter Paneer - Indian cheese & peas with tomato gravy
• I will be back for sure!

I had an awesome time here. The food is as authentic Indian as it gets. The taste was awesome. I had the best lamb chops ever here. The chicken starters, the kheema lamb for mains were all superbly made and tasted wonderful. The bread was soft , recommend the garlic naan. The ambience was also very neat and decent. Highly recommended!

This is a beautiful restaurant with wonderful food. They don't dumb down the food in any way and they have great spices and can make their curries super spicy. The cauliflower and potatoes is great (aloo gobi), the chicken tikki masala and their other curries are wonderful. They have really good desserts here. Service is top notch and is a great place to go out with groups. Prices are fair and the food definately stacks out.

Our waiter was so amazing! I think it was Faran or Zaran?? I love the decor and the food is so tasty. Great wait, great ambiance, great food! Will definitely be back :)

Celebrated my 24th birthday in Vancouver at Tasty Indian Bistro. Beautiful restaurant with amazing food.

The interiors look super rich. The manager is friendly and very humble. The staff was super nice and always had a smile on their face. They knew it was my birthday so they got me a red velvet pastry with ice cream as complimentary.

The butter chicken was delicious. The mocktails and cocktails were lip smacking. We were 8 of us and we enjoyed to the fullest.

Good food = Good mood and Tasty Indian Bistro knows how to keep that going.

Easy on the wallet and worth the money and time spent 😁

It is surprising that this place gets good reviews. I went with my family during Father's Day weekend to have a dinner in a special way and it turned out to be a complete nightmare. Firstly, there was a long wait to get the table. Place was too noisy with very loud music spoiling the mood and the occasion. Food ordered came very late and in bits and pieces. I mean, we ordered only 4 items and all the 3 items came with erratic intervals, where they should have come with logical sequence and bunched. They completely forgot about the 4th item. All the items tasted horrendous except water. Items were too creamy, even the tandoori ones! The pudhina tikka we ordered was extremely salty. Kadai chicken did not come in kadai but on a plate. We were thankful to the forgotten item tandoori fish, otherwise we would have been put through another persecution. The portions were smaller and the prices steeper On the whole this is a wretched place. I will never ever go here so long I am alive and I will not recommend even to my enemies! My rating for the place is a clear negative 10!

My favourite Indian restaurant! I have been here on several occasions and it never disappoints. The butter chicken is amazing, naan bread is delicious and I love their Chai tea! Pakoras are a must for a starter. Its quite far from where I live, but it is well worth the drive. I highly recommend!
Ives
Authentic taste. Reasonably priced. Comfortable seating and hassle free parking. I recommend this place for date night, family outing or catching up with old friends. Bring mints for second desserts.
Chicas
They have very good lunch special. Their butter chicken is delicious. The chilli chicken is pretty good but I like chilli chicken at Indian Fusion better. I really like their chai tea. The decor is quite fancy and makes it look like you are at fine dining restaurant. Food is delicious and the customer service is courteous but not as friendly as I would like.
Mala
Always Amazing ! This place never fails me ever. The food is phenomenal, the prices good, the ambience is modern and classy even the washroom is beautiful and always immaculate, the service is always friendly and on point. Gotta love their happy hour specials too - $2 off appies. This time I decided to go for their Fish pakora. The pakora was the best I have ever had. Also their paneer stuffed naan is the best ever. It's a staple menu item that I just have to have when I visit this restaurant. This is by far my favorite restaurant. Keep it up ! 5* status
Kev787
I would rate this one of the most presentable, modern Indian restaurants in Vancouver where they still serve good, authentic Indian food. I have also used their catering service for one of our office parties and everyone loved it.
Candy_foodie
My husband and I were waiting for his car to get put on new rims that he bought across this restaurant. While waiting we were walking around to see where can we grab lunch. We couldn't find any that catch our eyes except this restaurant. We decided to try here. The restaurant look pretty high class. The food here are so yummy, however, when we asked for less spicy, it's still taste like medium spicy but I guess less spicy to them is medium spicy or we just couldn't handle that spicy. Even though each dish are small portion, it does makes you full. We couldn't finish the curry at all so if your hungry, don't order too much because one curry dish will make you full.

What do you call a bistro that serves tasty Indian food? Why Tasty Indian Bistro, of course! Truth be told, I feel like this restaurant is a little big to be considered a “bistro”. Fortunately, the food is tasty!

The Keema Masala was quite good with the minced lamb meat, onions and spices in a rich and spicy curry sauce.

This is the kind of dish that you need to eat with rice or naan to enjoy properly. Fortunately, we ordered the Onion Kulcha naan stuffed with spiced onions and baked in the tandoor. The bread was soft but quite tasty indeed.

Check out our last visit on our website.

Went in for lunch today during a busy time- the server was great and memorized everything including a member of our party who had visited the restaurant a few weeks prior. Every food item was better than expected. Our drinks were refilled without ever having to ask. Service was fantastic.

It was Thanksgiving and we didn’t know where to head out for lunch, but my sister suggested Tasty Indian Bistro in Delta. Everyone describes it as the Cactus Club of Indian food. The interior is very sleek, dark and has some nice decorative pieces. The restaurant is quite large, so there are different dining areas. Great space for large groups.
Foodology.ca
What happens when you combine indian food with Cactus Club? You get Tasty Indian Bistro. I came on during Thanksgiving with my parents and they loved the place. Food was delicious and the decor was nice.

Being an Indian girl that has a mother who knows how to cook, I feel that my Indian food standards are quite high. If someone asks me where my favourite place to go for it is, my usual response is my mom’s or at Tasty’s. Tasty Indian Bistro has been in its current upgraded location for 4 years. I have been going there since it was called Tasty Sweets. That restaurant was their starter location but the food has never changed.
Phil Slap
Probably the best Indian Food in BC. I have tried many Indian places and this is hands down the best and tastiest one!!

It's that good that I drive 35min from downtown to eat here.

Please check it out!!
With the word “Tasty” front and centre in their name, you’ve got to expect that the food better be up to snuff. Tasty Indian Bistro has been around since 2011, located on busy 120th Street that straddles North Delta and Surrey. Inside, the restaurant seems fairly large with separate sections. Everything is a bit dark, but the decor feels modern and a bit up-scale. The gold-toned silverware was a nice touch.
Deb
Although the food was flavourful the portion size was far to small for the price. To only get four small chunks of meat in a small bowl of sauce it was not worth the price. I will not return nor recommend it as a place to dine.
Shawnawillems
Exceeded Expectations!. We ordered the Tasty Cream Lamb, Butter Chicken, and a fish dish that was spicy and a huge portion. The Cream Lamb was definitely the best item on the table. The atmosphere is very nice, with the food being served in beautiful copper vessels & staff is very attentive.
VanFoodies
All in all it was a satisfying lunch. I thought the food was quite good, with the spice level that allowed me to enjoy the food without burning my tongue. It’s not very cheap, though, with our food bill coming to around $50, but the interior decor and overall atmosphere is more upscale than other Indian restaurants in the area. And yes, there are many options so I can only imagine how competitive it is for them.
Cecil Unrau
Lamb Vindaloo. Awesome!
Foodie52
Best indian food!. This place is bit of a drive for us but we make the trip out to surrey as they have the best indian food. The inside is actually really nice as well. My favourite dish is the palak paneer and I love the pakoras.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!. My family lives in East Van and it was a long drive out to this place and when we got there... due to incompetency, our reservation suddenly disappeared (even though I had called to confirm it the day before) and we had to wait half an hour, after already starving from the long drive! When we got to the table there were still pieces of rice left on it. The butter chicken had only four pieces of chicken and the rest was sauce. What a rip off! The naan was greasy. 1/10 would not recommend at all. There are much better Indian restaurants in Surrey do not go to this one. It is over rated and the decor is tacky and try-hard.

Terrible management. The food was great, but we ordered two pots of Chai tea, and we're charged almost $35. The cups and pots are small, and when we asked to speak to the manager he was too busy to even talk to us.
I we felt disrespected and dismissed. It is a shame they lost customers over something as silly as tea. Food 4/5 service 1/5

So good!. My housemates and I went in to try the food and it was outstanding, delicious, and very well priced. I would return just to have more of their chair. service was excellent, our waitress was very friendly and liked to joke around with us. all in all, my best experience in Indian cuisine yet!
Yum Yum
Wow!! I give this place 2 thumbs up!! Great food, great atmosphere and fantastic service! This will be our go to restaurant for Indian cuisine from now on.

Desi junction should have the best butter chicken award not Tasty ' s !

Very Nice Setting.... Me and my husband really thought this place stood out compared to the rest of the indian restaurants in Surrey, and we were RIGHT... well sort off.

The atmosphere like many other reviewers have said is the best part of the experience and is nicely made and i commend them for that.

On the other hand the service needs a little touching up as at times the server seems to disappear for large amounts of time.

Lastly, the food, now i dont know about other customers and fans of Indian cuisine but there is a sort of disappointment in a place that looks so nice visually but cannot deliver the taste that is so common in most indian restaurants. The food lacks the taste that is so prevalent in Surrey and with somewhat high prices for small portions my husband and I left disappointed.

I myself have ate at many Indian restaurants and although they are not as "fancy" the taste is exceptionally better.
Rosangela
The best Indian food I have ever had! Beautiful decor, super friendly and knowledgeable staff and incredibly affordable! Our waiter Sam was amazing!Great job guys! Be back for sure.

Delicious food and friendly service. This was my first time at this restaurant and I'm happy I went.

It was a busy Saturday evening, our party of 5 waited for no more than 10 minutes to be seated. The decor is chic, moderne and beautifully appointed.

I found their customer service to be friendly and attentive. Our party had five different dishes which we all shared. They were all delicious and well prepared. The only complaint we all shared at the end was that we were stuffed and wanted a nap.

I wouldn't think twice about returning. Just wish they were closer to home so I could enjoy their food more often.
FoodForThought
You can only take reservation in person???. I've been to Tasty's about three times; all around the times when they first started. The service was good when they first started, but because I am rarely in the area I don't have much chance to go back.
If memory serves me right, I get the pakoras and chaat papri to start - Tasty's was the first time I've had Chaat Papri so I can't comment, but I really liked the cool and spicy taste - very refreshing. I will follow that by butter chicken, goat masala, and something vegetarian. I would get the rice and an order of spinach naan as well. Spinach naan is to die for.
Recently, I remembered this place again and wanted to make reservation for a birthday for a group of 8. When I called, the guy who answered told me that it is their policy not to make any reservations over the phone and that I had to come in person to make a reservation. What??? I thought I heard wrong, so I asked him to repeat it. He got frustrated with me and just passed the phone along to a woman who repeated the same thing. Said they are unable to take any reservations over the phone. I thought I was being punk'd - which sensible restaurant would ask their patrons to drive to there, park, walk down to make reservation for a different date, then drive off? --no restaurant I know, except Tasty's. She was dead serious and I laughed over the phone and decided to bring my money elsewhere where they would allow me to make my reservation over the phone.
So there you have it - food was good, but no, I will not return and I will most certainly not inconvenient myself just to eat Indian food. There are TONS of Indian restaurant in the area to choose from.

Very nice ambiance and prompt service. Food lacked authentic flavour I was hoping for. I have had better Indian cuisine-not sure if I will go back. Will keep looking for place to call my favourite Indian cuisine in Surrey.
PBIRK
Good food, bad service. The server was horrible. She was rude when asking for our order, any questions she had for us were spoken in a rude and abrupt way. It was just the afternoon very slow time and there were only 3 of us, who were just looking to to try this place that everyone has been raving about. If we needed any extra help (straws, utensils, plates, and napkins) she was rude about getting it and just dropped everything on our table so hard that it was clanging. And walked away without saying anything else, to walk in a corner and talk with her fellow severs while giggling about the customers in a rude manner. The other server, maybe manager, was walking around training someone else was much better at customer service. I would go back for the food but only if I have a different server.

Forgettable food.... Below average food. Heavy, overly rich. But good service and ambience...

G B. Its a great place for family. service was very good and food was excellent. I have been to many Indian restaurants but this is one I would recommend to be with a great environment and quality.

Not Impressed. Butter chicken laced in salt and very watery. The lentil dish was also watery. The food was overpriced. I dont mind paying if the food is good, this place does not meet that. I would not recommend this restaurant

Just ordinary ....have been to this place twice on being insisted by some pals....1st time was an absolute disaster food wise.ordered 3 entrees, 1-paneer bhurjee 2-daal tadka 3-aloo gobi...paneer bhurjee was a paste...aloo gobi had too much gravy...daal tadka was ok...naans were nightmare alltogether...very th8ck in centre and hence uncooked at the centre and edges were burnt....this was my first time way back in the month of june..that was it and I pledged to myself that I would go empty stomach than visit this place place ever. 2nd time - somewhere in oct one of my pals insisted to go there as things were better now. Thos time we were a group of 5 people. The same old story repeated..ordered couplebof dishes but there master chef doesnt 7nderstand that each dish not just has to look diff but taste diff too. If you use the same kinda sauce/ oil or whatever they use in all the dishes then am very sure they are all going to taste same. 3 orders of paneer were left there after every person ate just 1 spoon out of it. We had no other choice at that time as it was late and we didnt wana search for another place and get late for it...

Service was fine...both times we were served by this white chic...med height...very polite and prompt service.
Ambience is good too...looks like on the lines of cactus club...and somewhat a blend of old english city pub(the ones that you can still find around London, UK suburbs)

But the owner of this place ought to pull up his ever diving restaurant. Mr/ miss owner you lost one customer in me.

Not so great. Absolutely, looking forward to a meal at Tasty Bistro. My expectations were very high after being recommended to eat at this place. I was so disappointed because the food was not fresh, it arrived less than 5 minutes of making the order. Both the fish curry and chicken kadai seem to been put into the sauces that were not mixed properly. The server did not seem interested or put any care into her job. I would never go there again.

I enjoyed coming here before. Food was good, interior was nice. But one tip for all the ladies and their boyfriends, if you don't want to be creeped out by this waiter i would recommend going somewhere else or doing take out. Twice we have had this waiter, introduced himself as sam. He came off nice, but i felt uncomfortable with his looks. Food came out well, no complaints there. But this isn't a place where i come to get hit on by someone i expect service from. I wish management would do something about him. Other than that the other waiters were really nice and helped with our choices, good looking bar tenders too ladies. Take out for me now, until i see that he's not there anymore. Sad cause i loved the eating in. Beautiful set up!

Fantastic!. Really great restaurant. Amazing Interior and atmosphere. The food is also amazing quality. One of the best curry houses in the lower mainland. Recommend to all. Especially those Brits who really miss good curry!!

Great Ambiance and Food. I had heard a lot of about this restaurant not only for his food but it's decor, and neither disappointed. This place looks stunning, although it's in the middle of Scott Road which is a dump, this place is anything but. The food was amazing, I had the chicken vindaloo, the naan was amazing and the service was incredible. I will definitely go back.

Great food beautiful decore. After reading good reviews, we tried Tasty Indian Bistro. We live near here, and have tried many many Indian restaurants. This one is really good. Every dish was delish, chana masala, butter chicken, mutter panner, garlic naan and paneer naan, and great plain rice. very fluffy. pretty good wine selection, by the glass is limited, but our waiter recommended a local red blend, , and it was actually good. Prices are competitive, maybe a tad high, but what beautiful decore. Very nice spot. Good service too. We'll be back for sure, and soon.

Tasty Indian Bistro. Delectable!. Delectable
The dinning_detective has just sampled some of the tastiest North Indian Cuisine Surrey has to offer.
Not very often am I that taken back by a restaurant and it’s menu.
This being my first time visit, I only opted for the items that would tell this seasoned foodie if all the right methods and procedures are present.
I am happy to say that they are and man was it scrumptious.
The Vegetable Pakoras were tender light little fried pillows of joy.
They were sided with hand crafted condiments that hit all the right notes of flavour.
The Shrimp Fingers with a tasty mouth-watering chili dip was done impeccably.
The Goat Curry simmered in its roasted vegetable and toasted spice sauce proved worthy fit for a King.
The charcoal infused aroma and the hot and deep tandoor flavours applied to the chicken morsels was sublime.
The Tasty Indian Bistro’s approach to Tandoor cooking is several notches above any I’ve experienced since I first tasted the areal Tandoor Chefs fare many decades ago.
The Butter Sauced Paneer along with the Saag Paneer as sided with the lunch special was first class.
The way they treated the rice shows this kitchen is not your run of the mill team. This kitchen Rocks.
The rest of the condiments and the nan bread were deluxe making the whole lunch event a stellar outing.
I also must say that it is also a very nice dinning theatre with appointments and enough pizzazz to delight without going overboard.
The attending staff did a splendid performance showing off the kitchens act with details and professionalism.
In my opinion, it’s great to see a eatery when the front of the house and kitchen members are on the same page.
I am looking forward to returning and try some of the more complex dishes they have to offer now that I see that this restaurant is admirable.
Cheers from thedinning_detective.

I love this place! The restaurant is so huge and modern. Reminds me of an Indian Cactus Club! I like the butter chicken and their drink menu is pretty good for an Indian restaurant!
Lobak69
The cactus club of indian cuisine. This place gets busy so be prepared to wait. Good service, ambiance and food. Must try the coconut chicken and samosas. will be back to try other things on their menu!

Super Good!!!. I love indian food. It is very yummy! Butter chicken is my favorite. The restaurant was very big. The decoration was excellent. And the food was awesome! The service was great!

Great ambience, excellent service, except our food was extremely salty; my wife loves salt- yet she found in inedible... Our fish Pakora starter was amazing- we thought great things were to come thereafter. We thought the flavours were complex in the butter chicken, hot chicken vindaloo, Okra, Bartha, etc- minus the crazy salt, it could be great Indian food. I would recommend this place with that as the caveat.

My boyfriend and I tried this place out for the very first time and it was VERY VERY Good!! Quite inexpensive, for the two of us it was 42.00$ with drinks!
The service could have been better, the waiter could have been a lot more attentive. However, the place was packed!!
Although our food was delivered an on our table with in 15 minutes of already being
Seated. As for the food, the taste & flavours of the spices were insane. I had the "dinner special" which came with 2pc of tandoori chicken, lamb curry, butter chicken rice toped with chopped raw pepers& onions AND naan bread and it also came with the house dessert! The price of this meal was 16$.
It was VERY Filling! A lot of food! And the spices & heat for this dish was quite mild, and VERY enjoying!
Definitely worth going back to!

Okay food, terrible service.... We had a party of 15 people for my cousin's birthday. The food was decent nothing special (typical punjabi food not authentic indian food) and the desserts were frozen cakes from a whole seller. After getting our bill there was some confused based on the spliting of the bill. We had told ourwaiter about how to split the bill but I guess there was so confusion on her part. After helping both the owner and the waitness with the billing we were told that this was too much work for them. I have never felt so upset after spending over 700 dollars on food and alcohol. The staff provided no apology or consideration for how much business we brought for them. Also the waiting area was over capacity and there was not enough staffing for the customers on many tables. For example, we had to wait 30 mins for our order to be taken, it took 15 mins to get our first bill and 15 mins to make payment. Poor management.... I give them one year to clear up there act or they'll start loosing customers!

AWESOME FOOD, DECOR!!. PERFECT PACKAGE!!!

Not impressed. It was our first time as the kids wanted to have butter chicken. We liked the decor.

We ordered 2 dinner plates, and the food was ok, although the tandoori chicken was rubbery, indicating it was cooked a few hours ago and not fresh.

The waiter cleared our table, even though there was still food on the dish. We believe this was extremely rude.

He then put the bill on the table. We left a 20% tip, although we believe he did not deserve anything at all.

We dine out about 2 times per week with our young kids, we order portions enough for everyone to eat and not waste food.

My wife and I have decided not to patron this outlet anymore.
Food-voice. Independent Opinion
High class; good food with averge price. I don’t eat that much Indian food due to there are too spices, for some reason my system cant take it. But I really like Indian food; occasionally I order food from some Indian Restaurant take out and go home to enjoy it. I particularly like the BBQ chicken from CURRY EXPRESS. It’s very tasty and not very spicy. Otherwise all other Indian food just average to me.
Our company has a mattress dinner party at Tasty Indian Bistro recently, as usually I am not too excited about going due to too spicy in Indian food . To my surprise, this restaurant is difference than all the others that I went to. Its décor is ultra modern, atmosphere is very pleasant and the food is surprisingly tasty and not too spicy. The price is very reasonable for such a high end décor restaurant. My flavor dishes are:
Fish Pakora: $10.
Fish deep fried with traditional spices.
Chicken Pakora: $10.
Deep fried Marinated boneless chicken with traditional spices.
Shrimp Strips: $10
Deep fried battered shrimps –served with chili sauce
Lamb Curry: $12.
Lamb Saag: $12.
Lamb cooked with freshly ground spices and spinach.
Butter Chicken: $11.
Boneless chicken cooked with rich tomato cream gravy

My flavor is FISH PAKORA. They cooked just right, the fish is not too well done and with the right amount of spices, it’s very tasty. a fantastic dish for $10.

They have over 100 items in the menu, if you feel it’s too confusing like me; you can order a combination dinner from the menu like:
TASTY DINNER SPECIAL its only $14. It’s a good deal.

It’s a fantastic INDIA restaurant, I highly recommended to my friends and all of you.

Wonderful food. My husband and I have been there a few times, we take-out most of the time. The food has always been very good, service could be improved and servers could use more training. All in all it is one of my favorite indian places to eat. The garlic naan bread is to die for and just remember to tell them how spicy you would like the food. Some times there have been communication barriers but I just ask if they can send someone else over
so I could explain what my needs are. Beautiful decor, indian Cactus Club atmosphere. We will continue to go
and enjoy their food.

The best Indian Hand Down. I love this place. I have been here several times and have not been disappointed.
The service is good and the food is outstanding, the prices are average and the decor
is something you would expect to find in a downtown restaurant.

I recently went to this restaurant while on a trip to Vancouver. My brother and sister-in-law had suggested trying it out. So we went for a late dinner and I must say that I was quite impressed. Walking into this place is like walking into any Cactus Club or Earls. The decor is quite impressive. But more than that, was the great service and the best food. This restaurant is by far the best I have been to and would definately come again.

Good Butter Chicken.. Came here with some friends for lunch. I always get a butter chicken to give me a baseline for comparison, and I have to say that I was pleased with how it turned out. It wasn't dry, or tough, but rather moist. Other dishes, such as the lamb and naan were good, though the lamb could've stood to be cooked a bit longer. Still, the experience was good enough that I'd go back again.

A Rare Jewel in Surrey. Great food, ambiance and service. Prices are reasonable compared to all the Indian restaurants and the food quality is outstanding. Ambiance is extraordinary with high roofs and jazzy look and feel. Service is great. Must go and highly recommended. Will go back again.

Butter Chicken. Surprisingly nice restaurant on Scott Road! Really enjoyed the butter chicken and lamb korma, along with soft yet chewy naans. One of the best Indian food restaurants in Vancouver in my opinion.

Restaurant looks very nice, Service was adequate, food is not very good. We went as a group and tried differant dishes, some dishes just were not made the way they are suppose too. If you have any food allergies stay away. They just add differant ingredients. Dairy was detected in dishes that are not suppose to have them.

Enjoyed It. Went here on a whim. The decor was lovely, the service was very good, quite attentive. The place was busy, had good atmosphere. Had paneer pakoras for appy, and they were just devine. Creamy smooth cheese, lightly fried. Crispy delicious. Main was lamb vindaloo. Very spicy and flavourful, but the lamb kinda tasted like old goat. The naan was great. Dessert was devine; Kheer for my friend, Rasmalai for myself. Finished with a pot of tea, and it was a lovely evening out. A bit pricy, but it's a nice change from the local noodle dives and cheap eats that I usually frequent.

Lack of etiquette. Hubby and i went for dinner at tastys and we observed a lot going on that shouldn't have been while the owners were away on vacation.
1. We hadn't even sat down and the waiter wanted to know our drinks. Not great etiquette. This didn't happen with us alone but the same waiter did the same thing with two other groups that came in after us.
2. Waiters were texting and talking at the bar in plain view of guests
3. I ordered a martini and asked for straw it was bought to me by hand instead of properly in a napkin or in a glass god knows where the hands had been. Of course i returned it. Then to top it off he wanted to tell me exactly how a martini should be drunk lol telling me gosh i know exactly how to drink a martini or any other drink for that matter even if its out of a bottle. In the end when i sipped my chocolate martini it had so much alcohol in it that you couldn't taste the chocolate.
4. My hubby had to repeat his drink order 3 times and the waiter did not understand at all and ended up showing him on the menu. People you got to know your drinks because in a restraint you make more from alcohol than food.
5. We order masala wings and didn't receive a finger bowl where the heck was i supposed to wipe my hands? A napkin just doesn't cut it. You want to be upscale you got to learn the little things. Having awesome food alone doesn't cut it. People go out to eat for the ambience, service the entire package basically
Bottom line here is that your staff need to be trained properly in service, communication and knowing their drinks and most of all they cannot have the same Indian mentaility where they come to your table and tower over you not giving you space to enjoy our meal or place your order. Communication is huge and with the exception of a few all your staff need better training. I have worked in this industry for over 10 years and in customer service for over 20 i know what i am talking about and what i need when i go out for dinner.
Another incident that occurred was a drunken guest who was just irate started a fight with my hubby and then decided to swear at me. The owner did not throw him out, infact he was so scared to do or say anything. He didn't even compensate us. If that was my restaurant i would have given a desert or drink or something as i would want to keep my customer and not the irate drunk..... if you want to be upscale you need to deliver better service and if you dont know how to do it then hire someone to retrain your staff and i wouldnt mind doing that for you as i am trained in this field!!!!

Have been twice now and recommend this as a very good place for Indian food! Awesome staff and Great Food!

Finally Went to bistro after so many recommendations. One thing I would say they exceeded my expections. It was Sunday evening around 9 pm still there were a line we waited around 20 mins before we got a table. Our server was this tall handsome good-looking boy and his service was the best we had ever had. The food at this place is just unreal and the ambiance is it felt like we were in Vegas. I would recommend this place to everyone. Jewel of Vancouver. Keep up the good work tasty!!!

Wasn't a great experience. The food did not meet the expectations than any other restaurant in surrey. I would recommend this restaurant to the people who would like to waste their money on a low blow restaurant that doesn't know how to make food.
Vineet
Fancy location and ambiance. However, food was not too good. Service was okay.
True Foodie
Great food great ambiance! I have been a repeat customer for a few months now. A few things do require some tweaking perhaps the staff need a little more training on customer service and how to address any concerns appropriately. I've recommend this place to many family and friends and the same consensus from all.

Bad food and bad service. I went there Friday evening with my friends visiting from States. I was embarrassed when food arrived as it was very oily and bad tasting, when i complained about the quality of food the server replied very rudely that i will go to the kitchen and find out another option and we also ordered raita same time but the server didn't came back for another half an hour and when returned with raita we were almost finished with that awe fully tasting food and their prices are high comparing to other good Indian restaurants i wont be returning to this restaurant
