Review Smitty's Family Restaurants - Dartmouth

not gonna lie, I'm a VERY frequent customer (I take breakfast here also every week) I love the bacon lover's breakfast and the pancakes are delicious! service is always good. it could be a little slow when is full but I totally recommend trying to eat breakfast or lunch here.

The servers are always really friendly and the food is good, but it’s not spectacular. It’s just basic breakfast food. The hash browns are great and my partner enjoyed his Eggs Benny. My eggs, sausage and bacon we’re good, not greasy and nothing you can really complain about. However, my waffle was sort of stale and my French toast wasn’t very good. Other than that it was still a nice experience and we didn’t even have to wait 10 minutes for our food after ordering. In my experience, if you’re looking for sweet, go to Cora’s but if you’re going for savory come here to Smitty’s.

There gluten free pancakes best I have had yet! This location specifically. Server was very attentive and friendly. The person that was working as Host could use a little training. When I tried to ask for a gf menu and started to ask, she cut me off and explained she was our hostess and not our server so I would have to wait. She didn't even want to know what I needed. When our server arrived she easily and swiftly retrieved the menu from the hostess station even tho it was not her job. 😉

I will admit I am of 2 minds about about this review. The food was excellent as was the service. However, the prices are so high that it's now beyond anything I'm willing to spend. The reason for the lower score is something else. Smitty's is in the business of selling an experience with food is it not? So how about you keep your profession of woke ideologies to yourself. If you do or don't support political and social topics is not any of your customer's business. If the food wasn't so expensive, I wouldn't come back just on those points alone.

My son took me out for a late mothers day brunch. Of course the day we decided to go eat, the restaurant was closing early to have a new grill brought in but the waitress sat us and took our order anyway. She kept telling us not to rush and topped up our coffee regularly. We took our time and had a great brunch together. Great service, amazing food and such a welcoming atmosphere. Thanks for making my day!

I purchased the skillet that I have ordered in the past and a coffee. I was anticipating it. Unfortunately the food was way below standard. Hash Browns were tater tots undercooked, toast was buttered cold and did not melt. There were so many undercooked green peppers that it took over the eggs. Appeared the onions were precooked and maybe leftover from the previous day. Worst of all was the hollandaise sauce. It looked like paste with a yellow tinge. I should have taken a picture as I was alone and their wifi was down. I left with a 23 dollar bill which I paid , added a tip for exceptional service and will not be back. I heard others complaining also. So disappointing. I love this place for breakfast. The coffee was the only item that was good. So sorry I didn't take a picture.

We had the best waitress ever! Jackie (Jacqie) thanks for being so hospitable! You made the atmosphere so relaxing and enjoyable and the food was awesome especially the cinnamon swirl pancakes with cream cheese it’s a must have
