This was an excellent dining experience. The restaurant itself was small and cozy, service could not have been better, and the food was phenomenal. Even the other customers were friendly and offered recommendations.
Our server noticed that I was drinking a lot of water and brought a larger glass for me. That is real service! She was a great lady, and I'm definitely be back for more delicious schnitzel in the future.

We've been looking for another German restaurant since our favourite place in Au Lac, NB closed. We drove past last night and I spied the word "schnitzel". And the rest was history.
We called at 4:30pm when they opened and got a reservation for 11 ppl at 6pm. Service was amazing, the food was amazing and we all left very satisfied.
The only downside was that there were no traditional German desserts, (although I LOVE a good creme Bruce). We would love to see black Forest cake and apple strudel added to the menu.
I chose the Alsace Schnitzel with a side of house made sauerkraut. Delish

When there twice for lunch both times the food was excellent and the price is very reasonable. The young waitress was very polite and service was great.

This is an interesting little spot. I've been to Germany 3 times, so I do have a decent means of reference. That being said, here is my assessment.
There is definitely a level of authenticity. From what I've gathered from the decor, the family that runs this place is from Strasbourg. This isn't some knock off chain joint.
The flip side now, is that we are still in Dartmouth, and let's be honest, the demographic here does not have much cultural diversity, or cultural insight. As such, I believe the restaurant has sacrificed some quality to save a buck knowing that the average patron has no clue. I can accept this as a business model, but from the stand point of a person who has seen the real deal, I can tell where the corners are cut.
Overall though, I was happy with the 1L of Erdinger they served up, and the black forest cake had a nice cherry sauce which I believe to be homemade. The spaetzle was freshly made, but the red cabbage came out of a jar, and the schnitzel was average.
Overall, this is a great spot in the heart of Dartmouth. Food was overall, a good experience, and the price was average. If this place was located in a more culturally diverse area, it may command a 3 star, but I think that is too harsh of an assessment.
End of the day, I think you should give this place a chance. It is a small, friendly, family owned business that serves up something different and authentic. It's a breath of fresh air in a town literered with greasy pub food and low rent family restaurants. Go check this place out!

My new favorite place to eat in Dartmouth. The staff are friendly and the food is wunderbar! I always end up leaving happy and full. Very happy I took the chance and walked in to try their menu.
