We stopped in for lunch and bought out the whole cafe! The brisket sandwich was delicious, along with Benny croissant and quiche. Had to finish with some dessert of course.. cookies and scones yum yum. My baby decided now was a great time to relieve herself and i was SO grateful for the change table, extra diaper and wipes!!! Highly recommend and we will be back again!
This cozy bakery shop is worth the drive from anywhere! Their sweets and breads are delicious and soups amazing! Never disappointed!! Great place for a cup of coffee and a muffin and to just relax. Isaac and Myro and staff are wonderful - always welcoming !! You won't be disappointed!! Enjoy!!
I love the ambiance of the Black Walnut Bakery. Their croissant (ham and cheese and spinach and cheese) are to die for. Today we had their soup special and it was excellent. Would strongly recommend this place to everyone.
I’ve been going to the black walnut bakery since they opened up. Always consistent and the flavors are to die for. By far the best in the ottawa region.
So glad I popped in Saturday to discover this gem! Tried the bacon cheddar chive scone - it was amazing! The rhubarb custard pie is equally amazing. How did I not know about this place before?! �

We stopped on our way to Ottawa and tried the spinach and cheese pie and I tried the Portobello caramelized onions cheese one and oh my god was it ever good!!! To bad it's not open in my way in the morning because I would stop everyday if I could!!! Delicious �

We can't help but stop at the Black Walnut Bakery any time we're nearby. We also make trips out just because lol Anything we've ever had from here has been delicious! From walnut tarts to croissants to pies and even their coffee and iced tea are amazing! The staff is lovely and the environment is great. Definitely a gem in the town of Cumberland :)
First visit on Sunday morning. Service was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed coffee and ham & cheese croissant. Love that you can sit outside too. It didn't matter that it was raining. Bonus..I was able to a bottle of raw honey from Canaan Road Farms. � I'll be back!
Black walnut Bakery has the best butter tarts I have ever tasted! My mom's yards are a close second! �
Try everything. It's all amazing. I need at least 2 brownies to get through each week but we always buy more because everything is exceptional! The owner and staff are very kind and the only time I'm disappointed in when I get in late and they're sold out :p
Went at this amazing bakery for my first time this morning. Everything was delicious! Staffs were all super friendly. Will definitely be going back alot more often and suggest to my friends and family to go and try it too.
Loved it. Good parking, quaint place. Got some spinach and cheese croissants and a vanilla cream tea biscuit. Everyone in my family loved it.

Definitely deserving of 5 stars! The pastries are fresh and delicious. The staff are friendly. The take out window does get busy at times but it is worth the wait. Coffee is good, I had an iced oat milk latte and it was prepared well.
Butter tarts were one of the best I've ever had. They have very great croissants, definitely worth the drive. Prices are also reasonable too

The pastries are never too sweet, just the perfect amount. The beef pies are *chef kiss* and the pumpkin pie is seriously the best pumpkin pie I've ever tasted. It's full of spices and sooo tasty.
Everything tastes like it's homemade (because it is) and everything I've tried so far (which is a lot) was delicious.
I highly recommend this bakery and it's local!
Incredibly tasty, consistent and quality bakery.
Their croissant dough is very well laminated, flaky and delicious. Recommendations: chocolate almond croissant, morning bun (like a beaver tail croissant) and carrot walnut muffin.
Get there before noon or you risk missing out on items that sell out quickly. Look at the board up on the wall to see what they have left in stock.
Excellent specialty soups that are great to take home and reheat from frozen (both the Borscht and Hungarian Mushroom were dynamite). Coffee and croissants were decent, nothing too special.
Always such a pleasant experience checking out the Black Walnut Bakery! I'm a repeat customer and every time I go I am very happy with the quality of food and the kindness of the staff. Today I picked up a Benny croissant (one of my favourites) and some new treats like the lumberjack croissant, chocolate zucchini muffins, the bread they are presently baking with proceeds going to Ukraine and a samosa pie which I am very excited to try! If it's your first time checking this place out I recommend their quiches as well! They're super light and fluffy. Always a 10/10 experience, keep up the great work Black Walnut Bakery team!
We came across this bakery on a whim and boy are we ever glad we did! Very kind staff! We started with the savoury croissant bun and let's just say we got back in line for more. So delicious and flavourful! Hands down the best butter tarts I've ever had! Not too runny and the right amount of pastry! So good! We will definitely be back for more!
Everything we purchased today was delicious. Was meaning to save some pastries until tomorrow but they didn't stand a chance. The almond croissant was so flaky and buttery. The honey cookies remind me of the cake my grandmother used to make, with a deep honey flavour. Wish I bought more, it was so good and hearty with a cup of tea. Next time :) Hoping for some baked goods on the menu with black walnut or poppy seed in the future.
Finally tried! It’s been on my list forever. I preordered through their website, grabbed more items as well AND went to their Cumberland Farmers Market stall. Everything was great!
