Review Yiamas - Courtenay

One of our best experience at Courtney. The Greeks atmosphere and friendly staff plus variety of cuisine tests make your night. The meal portion was huge . Baklava was delicious. The only that I can say , meat was a little salty . It's not cheap but worth the price

Fabulous service and fantastic food! The best calamari we have ever tasted! Vegetarian moussaka to die for and perfectly cooked lamb souvlaki as well. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Always a favorite of ours. I felt like I should leave them a review. The very few times we had issues with our order we were taken care of so well. Recommend this place for delicious food and generous servings.

Was our first time there and wow we were impressed. So cozy inside, very on theme. Food portions are huge and so delicious. Our server was a sweetheart and made our experience all that much better. Will be back soon!

I was taken here for the first time for my birthday dinner. We both had the Vegetarian Moussaka and it was superb! Look forward to repeating the visit. Must also say the staff are a pleasure to deal with. Excellent service.

Such friendly service and amazingly good Greek food. My husband ordered the Keftedes and we split them as an appetizer- so savoury! I had the stuffed chicken breast for my main and he had chicken souvlaki - everything was delicious and we left stuffed! What really made it a great dining out experience though was the warmth of the staff. And when I forgot my bag 🙊 Amanda brought it all the way to more door. That was amazing! Will absolutely be back - soon!

Absolutely delicious !. Went here for my mothers birthday tonight, had excellent service, all of our meals were very large portions and of good variety, didn't wait long for our food, everyone at our table was given a complimentary shooter and amazing dessert for the birthday lady. A little bit on the pricier side but you really Are paying for quality. Will absolutely be back.

Yiamas Greek Taverna is wonderful. It is our new favorite restaurant in Courtenay. We have been several times as a group and no one has been disappointed in their mean. They have nice GF sellections too.
If you like real Greek food you will enjoy a meal here.

Great Food &Service. I've back in the Comox Valley for a few years now after spending some time in the Okanagan and was really missing the great Greek food we enjoyed at the Greek House in Winfield. Until I had my first meal at Yiamas! While there are some places in the Comox Valley that say they offer Greek cuisine, none come close to the traditional rich flavours of the food at Yiamas! I haven't been through the menu yet (a work in progress), but everything we have had was well presented, well served and delicious! You can't go wrong...simply great food and service.

My new favorite restaraunt in Courtenay. This is the best greek food I have ever had. Me and my wife love this place. Service is great and atmosphere too. We have been there 5 times now since we found out about it and every time has been excellent. The Baclava is a MUST HAVE.

OMG! Yiamas' has finally landed in Courtenay. And not a moment too soon...We needed a proper culture-filled authentic Greek restaurant in this town... The only one! There is incredible live Greek, Middle-Eastern music every Fridays and Saturday nights... Don't forget to tip the musicians!!

I had the vegetarian moussaka and spanakopita, with an exotic 'Marouli' (sp?) salad and it was excellent. The spinach pie is the best in town (I know because I tasted them all from Safeway's (pretty good...) to Thritfty's ( not bad but smallish) and QF ( quite good) and is a good size. Very hard to find a vegetarian Greek Moussaka anywhere around and it was delish!....

The desserts, 'Ekmek" is a light custardy cloud of mmmm...good! which I cannot get enough of... My husband had the 'Baklava'. It is quite a large piece of traditional dessert made with honey and phyllo and nuts. He loves and craves it all the time now...Very good and excellent portion... The wine section is good, we had Retsina, Greek piney wine. Acquired taste but authentic as we strive for when we go out... We'll be back!!

We'll be back. We've been once to this new restaurant and are looking forward to a return visit. Food was good and well priced.

I went here for New Year's Eve with my boyfriend. We both ordered from the specials. I had the Greek surf & turf, he had the lamb shoulder. It was sooooo good! I loved the pork, and I'm not much of a meat eater, but it was amazing! We had the Greek meatballs for an appy, those were amazing as well. We will definitely be going back here (:

The food was over priced and subpar. Service was even worse! This place ruined greek food for me, never eat here.

Wonderful food! Best Greek food I've ever eaten in north America. Good vegetarian options and seafood options. Tatziki is delicious! Lots of garlic. Very highly recommended. Wonderful live music on the Saturday evening that we were there.

I have spent some time in Greece and I must admit that I rarely eat Greek food in N. America as I find it not to be authentic. Yiamas was DELICIOUS. My boyfriend (never has Greek before) and I enjoyed our meal, service and the atmosphere. I highly recommend a glass of the Greek white wine with your meal, the first one listed (can't remember the name.) have a sample first.
Great food, I WILL be back-- and soon!!!

Lunch 2 Fridays in a row. Have been 2 Fridays in a row now, both times excellent. The owner is affable and knowledgeable. Lunch menu items are delicious and the right size, many priced under $10. First time it was lamb gyro which wasn't on the menu but the owner said he would make it and it was fantastic. Today I had the spanakopita, also excellent. Greek salads both times were perfect. Try the ekmek, it's a dessert and friggin awesome

The restaurant has been open for about a year now. We'd done some take out and enjoyed it. We'd heard lots of good things. And, my girl loves Greek food...
