Wow! Really impressed. Great staff, great food, good value. Kind of a Korean/Japanese fusion I am guessing? Sushi and kimchi? I'll buy that. Tried a variety of rolls and sashimi and all were good! We were also treated to complimentary miso soup and some sort of kimchi salad which was great! Maybe I am just a prairie boy with not much sushi experience but I thought it was excellent.
Decent value. There are two daily specials that cost $8 and on a Monday we tried them both. The bento box comes with chicken teriyaki, assorted tempura, green salad and 4 pieces of California roll. The other special was beef bone noodle and it has just the right kick. There were also three appetizers. Overall it was decent and we would be back.
Underrated. Great Korean dishes & sushi.. I think this restaurant is underrated. My family tried the Korean dishes a couple times and they have been great. Very generous proportion with the hot soup & fish combo. Sushi & sashimi which were also good proportioned, well prepared and fresh.
Ok.... I've eaten here a few times and the food has been decent. Rolls are typically done well with warm rice and if the filling if tempura it has been hot as well. Specialty rolls are on the pricey side around $9 so they can add a little bit more than a regular roll. Tasty but not cheap if you want to sample a few different rolls. Bento box is ok with the usual California rolls and tempura etc. had better bentos before but this one was average. Korean food served is decent but nothing special. Stumbled upon this place because California sushi up the block was too busy, rolls and selection not as good but being not as busy was a big plus. This is on our repeat list when in the area.
Itshoni is serving up a mix of Korean and Japanese cuisine and is conveniently located in this high traffic shopping complex that is home to many other places where one can a meal.
