Review Miracle Belgian Waffle - Coquitlam

Rochelle Dela Cruz
Came here with 2 girls expecting for them not to finish. Ordered 2 waffles and added ice cream. Only wanted to add a second ice cream to the Monkey Tells and she added a 3rd waffle instead with an ice cream.i ordered a coffee too. Disappointed with quality of waffle but coffee was ok. Don't plan on coming back.

I got the ham and cheese sandwich and my boyfriend got the bacon and cheese sandwich. It wasn't bad but the egg wasn't as fluffy as I would have liked. Perhaps I would have liked it more if i hadn't tried another restaurant with a similar menu first but since I had, I didn't like the egg sandwiches here as much. I likely won't be returning but give it a try anyway :)

The sandwiches and drinks are delicious, but the waffles don’t taste that good. Maybe I came in on a bad day, but mine was so burnt. Had to drown it in syrup (used my own because the amount given is too little) to get rid of the bitter taste. It’s a bit disappointing given that waffles are this places specialty. They’re also very understaffed (7 people in the store waiting for their food and drinks, and there’s only 1 worker who I’m assuming it’s the owner) and really need to consider hiring new people. The lady was really nice though and was working really hard. TL;DR - Overall, decent place. Will return once in a while since a majority of the items are tasty, but there’s certainly room for improvement. I’d give a 3.5 if possible.

Waffles were real pretty~ Wish I took some better quality photos to share haha. They were a bit dryer than I would have hoped, but I added ice cream on top and it seemed to help :) The service was friendly and the store was clean. Tho, if you are in a rush to get somewhere, it might take a while for your food to arrive (which is understandable considering the time it would take to make a waffle and dress it up). Will def stop by again the next time I'm in Coqo ^.^

My favorite place to have waffles. Always fresh fruits, tasty ice cream, crispy or soft waffles on your choice. Friendly stuff, nice atmosphere, fair prices. Great London fog tea. Always happy to be back.

Now that they have liege waffles again, we've started coming back. Service is good, decor is cute, and the waffle dishes themselves are hefty as heck. Like don't come here if you're already super full from dinner unless you're sharing. The fresh fruit is hit or miss in freshness and ripeness, but presentation is great. There is no air conditioning and it's always overall just really warm in there for some reason, so we avoid in the summer.

Delicious Sandwich here. I tried out the Tuna Mayo Egg, and it was great. Can't wait to visit again to try the Korean beef flavor. 😋

I was recommended to this place by a friend of mine, which I enjoy the waffle they served very much! I rarely travel around this area but they insist when I was here. I was wondering why it took a bit of time to make them but later explain due to made in fresh! I tried "green light" which served with 1 side of whip cream and 2 scoops of tasty and satisfying matcha favour ice cream with red bean on top! Plus sliced almond for that extra favour! Overall the place was lovely and cozy! Highly recommend friends or couples to this location!

It has an antique and cutesy atmosphere which is perfect for mingling with friends, and is a great place to go for a quick dessert/drinks. Apparently, their waffle makers have come straight from Belgium, which cooks the batter just perfect to enjoy. To satisfy your appetite, you can choose from a variety of toppings on top of what is already offered. Their menu consists of waffles topped with a variety of fruits, nuts, sugar power, syrups, and even veggies (which in curiosity, I have tried for breakfast and it does the job). Oh I almost forgot..they have NUTELLA!! In conclusion, I will give them five stars for their affordable prices, a warmly decorated atmosphere, and most importantly, their delicious waffles.

Didn't like the waffle itself because it's a little chewy and hard. Pretty small waffle too. Waffle didn't taste fresh at all.

Everytime I come here I get great service, my waffles have consistently been amazing, they do a great job :)

I have tried to eat here three times and was only successful once! The second time they weren't open during their posted business hours and we waited 15 mins outside before leaving. Today was the third time. I walked in and stood at the counter waiting for about 5 mins to have my order taken but was ignored the entire time. I got a 'hello' but that's it. The clerk was making two waffles for himself? I was the only customer there! The one time I was able to eat here it wasn't bad.

Went here after church, a cozy small cafe. I ordered Mocha Brussels Waffle, the waffle was crispy and the ice cream was nice, not too sweet - I like it. I'll be back again to try another menu.

Had desserts with friends at this place and we all enjoyed the treats. The place is a bit small and not that busy. The waffles are delicious as they’re not that too sweet. I find their Bingsoo a bit smaller in serving size but tastes very good though. A bit pricey but it’s worth it.

Finally tried this place after moving into the area! Spoke with the staff and learned they are a family business who just took over about a month ago (so negative reviews prior to this may not be relevant). Had two waffles with a latte: price point was good while quality was great. We actually started with one waffle but got a second one because the first was so good. We tried the Brussels waffles instead of the liege because of preference for the lighter style waffle. Interested to come back and try the liege waffle, shaved ice options plus the breakfast menu, which seems small but promising value-wise.

Out of all the dessert places that we have tried in the area, this is our favourite so far!

My guest and I were looking for a late night dessert spot, not in Vancouver. This challenge took us far away, 10 plus km, to the heart of downtown Coquitlam in slight snow. And sadly, all this trouble for the worst waffles I have ever had. The cafe was set up like a warehouse, cold with an exposed ceiling and piping. Not necessary the decor I would conjure up for a coffee and dessert spot, offering such decadently decorated waffles. With only a handful of their informative and decorative chalkboards filled in, it felt like they were newly open, instead of being the long standing addition to the neighbourhood that they were.
Ayeee
The staff were wonderful and the waffles came out quick but that’s just because no one was there. The waffle tasted more like breakfast than a dessert to me but I didn’t mind, it was great and the fruit was fresh. Not the cleaniest place but worth trying.

Came here on a Saturday night around 9:30ish. The place was not too busy and we got a table right away. I ordered the Rich Ritzzy waffle but forgot to request for the brussels waffles. The liege waffle is less fluffy and very filling so I got super full afterwards. I like that there are actual walnut bits in the walnut icecream.

Miracle Belgian Waffle is a pretty good little place. It's got a huge menu, and the prices are pretty good. The service is okay. Our waitress didn't come back after grabbing our drink orders. We waited for about 15 mins before we could order, and it wasn't even that busy. The restaurant has a really cool ambience, and is really trendy. They also had ade in mason jars, but I ordered a London Fog. The drinks were really good, but the shaved ice was kind of plain. It just tasted like pure ice, no flavouring at all. I ordered the B&W, with the crispy waffle. It was good, but I felt kind of sick after, and they were a bit tough. The ice cream tasted a bit like it came from a huge bucket from Superstore. But the oreo was really good, and I would still come back. It's better than driving an hour in traffic to go to the places in Vancouver, and it's walking distance from the Skytrain and Coquitlam Centre.

Miracle Waffle Bar is a dessert café that specializes in sweet and savoury liege and brussels waffles in Coquitlam. Brussels waffles are rectangular in shape and have a lighter and crispier batter. Liege waffles, on the other hand, are made with a thicker batter similar to bread dough and are thick and sticky in texture. I’m not a big fan of liege as I find them quite heavy especially when being paired with ice cream and/or whipped cream. My boyfriend and I decided to revisit this place for brunch since it was close by and to see whether consistency has remained the same after two years.

This little Belgian waffle shop on Coquitlam is tucked away near Coquitlam Centre. I ordered plain liege waffles with a side of maple syrup and whipped cream. The waffles have a more egg-ier taste and denser texture compared to other Belgium waffles that can be found at Nero and Lebeau Patisserie. The coffee and tea drinks are pretty good. This is good place to meet your friends for a little afternoon tea or dessert.

The waffles are good but the only complaint i have is that it was really smokey inside the restaurant (we last visited last year so I am not sure if this has been fixed)? IF you have sensitive sense of smell or allergy.. may want to think about visiting.

What is the point of having a business when more than half of the things listed on the menu are never available? Been coming here off and on for the past 4 months and only been able to get one thing off of the menu because the machines are broken or the stuff they have listed aren't being sold yet. Makes no sense, poorly managed.

I've been to a miracle belgian waffle a couple of times already, as the food is yummy and its a great place to catch up with friends.
Normally, I don't consider waffles as my go-to dessert, however miracle belgian waffle made me reconsider. I ordered the B&W brussels waffle (i mean how can you go wrong with oreo?), while my friend got the green light liege waffle (matcha is great too). The presentation was amazing and the creamy ice cream went perfectly together with my crunchy waffle and oreo bits. The liege waffle was also very good. It was soft and chewy compared to my crunchy and crisp brussels waffle. The restaurant is well-decorated with hanging lights, sparkly white tables, and comfortable chairs.
If you are looking for dessert in coquitlam, you definitely can't go wrong with miracle belgian waffle!

I heard that there was a waffle place similar to Nero Belgium Waffle Bar in Coquitlam so I went and checked it out. There are not many waffle places in Coquitlam so I was pretty excited. You get the choice of sweet or savory waffles, and you can also decide if you prefer liege waffles or brussel waffles. Liege is ‘sweet and soft’ while Brussels is ‘light and crispy’. They also carry coffee and interesting sounding frappes such as cotton candy and cinnamon toast crunch. I really wanted to try a frappe but I was already getting a sweet waffle so it would have been too much sugar at once.

I am traveling BC from another province, and I am glad I tried this place. Love the atmosphere. As others have mentioned, it would be nicer if the servers were more proactive. Other than that, great place to visit!

This place has great atmosphere and gets pretty busy during weekend evenings for the Coquitlam area.
I would recommend their green tea waffle, oreo waffle and the Sauffles are my favourite but for some reason the past two times Ive gone i was told they were unavailable even though they were on the menu.
Skip the flavoured lemonade it wasnt anything special.

Average waffles overall but ill come back to try to get a sauffle again!
Lex
Such a great place to come with friends! They offer a wide variety of yummy waffles. Not only does the food taste great but the parlour is adorable.

Wow! So, I have never written a review for anything before but I can not believe the terrible experience I had at this place. Came in for Sunday brunch, and settled in thinking that the place seemed alright. After about an hour I finally decided that we had waited far too long for waffles and brought up the fact that I had thought we had been forgotten. The server said no, but then quickly realized that she had never ordered our food. Fine, we all make mistakes, unfortunately, not only did our food take significantly longer but tables that had been sitting for only 10 minutes or so continued to get their food before us. Um, we're all eating waffles here...easy enough to ensure those waffles came to our table first. Finally we got our food and at this point I'm hopping mad but also really excited at the pile of food approaching. But wait, nope, one of our orders was wrong and the food was just meh. The waffles lacked flavour and in the words of my foodie daughter, the whip cream sort of just tasted like milk. Well, we finished our meal and thought that at least the silver lining would be a nice apology and perhaps a discount on our bill. Nope again. Not only was the bill full price, no apology was made and apparently there was no one in charge to speak with. What? Anyways, long story short this place was terrible. The service was awful, the waffle was on par with an eggo (I went home and had a sandwich I was so hungry) and my family and I will surely not be going back. Sorry Miracle Belgian Waffle, you have failed...
K Smith
Terrible service and the Cooks were visibly eating food behind counter and one was wiping his nose with his hand...gross!
Waffles were cold and over priced
Never going back

My daughter introduced me to Miracle Belgian Waffles and I have been here twice now. The first time, I had a savoury waffle (Ham and Cheese with green salad with balsamic sauce) and on Mother's Day I had Mango Paradise. It looked as good as it tasted. The mango ice cream was the perfect creamy texture and the mango pieces were slightly warm. The strawberries were a great addition as well as the whipping cream! The service was prompt and polite. We will be back!
CarrotKiller
Gone completely downhill. They no longer make fresh waffles, you get something that has been sitting there for who knows how long. Soggy, soft, cold. Before we realized this was why we asked the waitress if something had changed with the waffles. She lied to our face. When we caught the lie she shrugged and laughed. Service is also slower than a snail; they just don't care. Won't be going here anymore.

It's alright. We got takeout because the inside looks like it just started renovations the week of. They told us only the crispy waffle was available, I'm sure this is just more poor timing. The portion size was decent and the banana, whip cream and ice cream toppings seemed fresh. The waffle was very crisp, I'd probably prefer the soft, but it's not like I had the choice this time. Since it's so crispy it would've been nice to have some sort of syrup or sauce. Overall it's just alright, not great and not bad. If you felt like a waffle go for it, they seem to have plenty of selection, but it's not a place I'd go out of my wa
Amy Cave
The service was bad because nobody came to check on us throughout the entire stay... no syrup was offered and waffles didn't even taste good.
VanFoodies
Coquitlam doesn’t have many dessert places so it’s nice to see something like Miracle. The waffles are priced between $6 and $9, which is not too bad. It makes a nice meetup spot for the younger generations in the area. I hope it will get enough business to be sustainable.

January 1, 2016 · by ThatShanghaiGirl · The waffles here were subpar and disappointing, definitely not bad but I wouldn’t go again. Service on the other hand was pretty good but that doesn’t make up for the food…
SophiaEats
Came here for dessert on Christmas. N and I shared a Waikiki Brothers ($8.75). The liege waffle was topped with coconut ice-cream, fresh mango & pineapple, coconut, white chocolate and whipping cream. The waffle was supposed to be very soft and chewy, but it was lacking both. N told me their waffles are usually very good except for this time.. Wished their food quality was consistent!
Chels
Very affordable prices! A great place to hang out, even if you just want a drink. Although if you're hungry, waffles if literally all they have so I hope that's what you're craving!
Indigo Mind
As a Belgian - I can truly say these waffles are good! Not 100% true to recipe, but taste like home anyway :) No complaints about service, timing, or quality - solid 4/5.
Laughingman
The waffles here are actually pretty good taken on their own merits. There is one MASSIVE flaw with this place and it's the service. It's really hard to enjoy your waffles as a table when one comes after 2 min and the other takes 15 min. Seriously, people go out in order to eat to together, not to watch each other eat.

When you ask for coffee, it shouldn't take 10 min and it definitely shouldn't come cold. PLEASE work on your service. your waffles are actually good.

This was one of those treasured unplanned finds. I was just looking for a cup of tea but couldn't resist the inexpensive but delicious waffles. I had a simple Belgian strawberry and cream one. Light and crisp. It was delicious air. I can't wait to go back.
Amanda Pang
I really like this place. Although the menu is a bit small (options) and the price for the portion is questionable, it's still a great place to go and get waffle cravings.
Food Queen
This was my favourite combination that I have tried because the berries added a fresh sweetness and the whipped cream added richness, but it wasn’t overwhelming and too heavy like the ice cream ones. The liege style waffle is sweet, chewy, and more dense and heavy compared to the brussels waffle. This style of waffle is normally my go-to.

Miracle Belgian Waffle in coquitlam offers a range of flavours to choose from and also special seasonal features.
Waffles were decent. It wasn't exceptional but not terrible. They went all out on the icing sugar to give it that wow effect. I ordered one with mango and strawberries, ice cream and whipped cream. You can taste that the ice cream they use isn't any premium icecream, which is unfortunate because for a dish as basic as this, you'll need better ingredients to help it stand out.
Service was just alright. They did their job, the end.
If you're in the area and is craving for wake desserts then you won't be disappointed. It certainly isn't worth a drive into coquitlam for though.
Annabetween2hs
Mostly hype. People who live in Coquitlam started going to Miracle because it is the only waffle place in town. The waffles aren't terrible, but they aren't significantly good either. Definitely not worthy of being called "belgium waffles." However, the restaurant is very pretty and vintage-styled, which is why students love going there. It's an average waffle restaurant.
AC
Waffle tastes fine. Way to.... Waffle tastes fine.
Way too busy for the small place.
Amature inexperienced services.
Expect to wait 30 minutes before seating and another 45 minutes before eating.
Coq.freebies
The hype is there because there is no waffle dessert places around town. They used the banana close to the raw side...it has this waxy taste to it...monkeymon is too sweet, can't taste the true flavor of the waffle...(and too much cinnamon added) hmmm the traditional recipe uses yeast and not pearl sugar??? london fog is too foamy as well
Amy
Terrible service. This was the worst service I have ever experienced. Went in around 2 P.M. it was steady not super busy, got seated right away about 20 minutes goes past the waitress doesn't come around to take out order another 10 goes by still nothing, So I go up to the front to the manager to oder, and told him that I had been waiting for over 30 minutes for someone to take my oder he spoke in a very rude tone and just shrugged it off. My friends and I order our waffles and black coffee and go sit down. 20 minutes goes by still no coffee. after 50 minutes still no drinks and no waffles we go back up to the front to tell them to just cancel our order because we were leaving and the same manager looks at us and goes of sorry what was your order again?
Shell_67
Great Waffles...service and ambiance...meh. Waffles to Die for! Coffee (caramel machiatto) delicious. Place is pretty bare bones...could be decorated and designed nicer. Staff were all friendly but I think young and inexperienced? We were asked by another waitress for our order (after we had already ordered) FIRST latte took a long time to arrive, I had to wait for mine so long my friend was almost done theirs. Waffles served fairly quickly (she mixed up our orders I had to switch them) but......they were amazing! Will definitely go again but would love to see the service and ambience/décor improved. Just a small suggestion....when serving coffee drinks with foam....supply a small spoon. They do that in Europe its so much nicer :)
Hannah
Beautiful presentation, ok service, but not a whole lot of bang for your buck. Seeing as it's a new restaurant, they're working out the kinks so far
Sistarare
Just bad. 1) no organization. After we had given our orders. 10-15 min later another waitress asked us if we have been helped. Good on her for asking but that means we would have waited an additional 10-15 min if we hadn't been helped?
2) horrible burnt greasy smell throughout restaurant. I don't think they have adequate ventilation. That alone ruined the entire experience. If you are thinking of trying this place, order out.
3) long wait time to get order. I think we waited a good 30 min after we ordered to get our food. That seems too long for waffles. It wasn't even that busy in their.
4) waffles were good, definitely not authentic Belgian. I wouldn't say fantastic, nor would it be a good enough reason to go back considering all the other negatives. The portion size was also way too small and differed from waffle to waffle! One waffle, the Oreo and ice cream was tiny in comparison to the Nutella one we ordered. Shouldn't they be a uniform size?? Also the Nutella wasn't drizzled on the waffle, we had to used a knife to spread it on...weird. There also wasn't enough Nutella, although the I'm glad there wasn't too much either, it definitely wasn't what you would expect on a NUTELLA waffle. Lastly the price was a bit expensive after you see the quality of waffle you are getting. Considering one was smaller than the other and the smaller waffle was the most expensive was confusing. We almost wanted to complain but due to the awful smell we just wanted to get out ASAP.

Overall hated it! I really love waffles and was so excited to have a waffle place here, but it's not worth going at all. I would rather wait and go downtown for excellent waffles at Nero! Please alter the smell, make bigger more uniform waffles and be way more generous with the toppings!
Asdfrfed
Good waffles, bad service. To start of, the waffles here are very good, but service is terrible. It took quite a while to get my order. As I am sitting here enjoying my waffle, I observe around me that a waitress has already 3 times given the food to the wrong tables. I don't see why it's so hard to remember where people are sitting when there's on maybe 7 seating areas. I order coffee, and the waitress asks if I want creme or sugar in my coffee, and I reply with a yes. I never received any creme or sugar, and waited more than 20 minutes until deciding to pay and leave. Overall, I don't think its worth my time going back.
Flower
Dont sit near the cooking area. theres a constant smell of smokey grease probably coming from the waffle
machines. long wait times for food and drink.
besides those thinggs, the food was decent, pricey tho. service was ok considering that there was only one waitress and one guy making the waffles.
Spoonmaster
Nicely done. This place offers good selection of yummy waffles topped with sinful sweets. Nice atmosphere and good service.Portions could be a bit more generous though.
Aagalisim
Favorite. Really happy that there is finally a belgian waffle bar in Coquitlam! No longer have to go as far to Nero at Robson.

Pros:
Cute atmosphere and decorations
Waffle is light, tasty and not filling

Cons:
Could have better table arrangements or have portable folded up tables and chairs (during busy times).
Optimus.pantoja
Straight From The Gods Table. Second coming of Jesus right here. Miracle alright.
Candy.apples
Efficiency. The waitress was over whelmed and should have worn an apron to keep her note pad in so she didn't have to run backwards and forwards; coffees took way too long to come out and they need someone specifically on coffees and clearing tables ESP if there's only one waitress. Also invest in trays so you can carry more than one item at a time. Waffles were tasty but prep work for cutting fruit should be done before opening aswell as batter pre-made so everything is ready to go. All this will cut down on wait times = higher turn over

Body Bar Laser Clinic loves Miracle Belgian Waffle. We love this place! It is across the street and all of us that work here frequent this location.
Order the light & crispy or soft & sweet waffles with strawberry and whipped cream and you will melt.
The mocha's are excellent and the price is affordable.
Very nice people run this location, it is clean, organized and nicely designed.

Absolutely loved this place, great comfy atmosphere, the staff was very warm and kind, the waffles were delicious and everything tastes fresh. Our new favourite sweet spot!

Finding a good waffle in the subburbs is quite hard. I always end up gravitating back to Nero’s Waffle Bar , but sometimes it’s a bit of a drive. A few people told me about Miracle Belgian Waffle near Coquitlam Centre Mall. They opened closer to the end of 2014, so they are still fairly new. The interior is quite cute and I wanted to steal some items off the walls for my upcoming wedding. Love the strung up lights and banting. The space is large enough for small to medium-sized groups. It might be difficult to get a big group in depending on the time. We came in the afternoon and it wasn’t too busy. The first side of the menu has sweet waffles on either Brussels or Liege Waffles. On the other side of the menu, there are savoury waffle options and a variety of beverages. Cafe Latte ($3) is a good combination with the waffles. Kiss Me ($6) has strawberries whipped cream on a liege waffle. KoreanGirl said it was good but Nero still reigns supreme for liege waffles. Mango Paradise ($7) has whipped cream, condensed milk, mango ice cream and mango pieces. I got it on a brussels waffle. I love brussels waffles and they make it nice and crispy here! The mango pieces could have been a bit fresher, but given the time of the year, it’s a bit hard to get fresh mangoes for cheap. The mango on this seemed like it was canned. Overall, the waffles are good and I would come back again. No need to travel all the way downtown for just a waffle. It’s definitely one of the better places in the Tri-Cities area.
