This is the best place for dimsum I have tried in the TriCities and I have gone to almost all of them. Efficient staff. Tasty food and decent prices! Would highly recommend Grand Palace and will continue to go there whenever I crave dimsum :)
Really good, fresh and solid dim sum in the Tri Cities. The seating is very spacious and comfortable. A bit pricier than the other Chinese restaurants but worth it. Quality and portions were good. Service was ok, but not bad for an Asian restaurant.
The poor reviews are a bit confusing to me because I honestly find this to be the best dim sum place in coquitlam and one of the best in lower mainland (it was better than sun sui wah in richmond too). They have this savoury char siu bau thats unlike any other char siu bau i've had, the topping is so good! And the usual dim sum plates are satisfying as well. My family and I always come back here because the food never disappoints
We came here for a birthday dinner. We reserved a table a couple days ago. We got a table right away when we arrived.
The environment was quite comfortable. Bright lights and spacious room with tables and chairs. Great service from the beginning to the end of the meal.
We ordered lobsters, fried pork chop, fish, eggplants in a hot pot and etc. Everything tastes great. We did not wait for the food for a long time. The food came out from the kitchen quickly. The portion of each dish was quite big. Each dish cost a little bit more here comparing to the same dish from other restaurants. It was worth the money though, because the service was better and the quality of the food was above average.
I would highly recommend this restaurant if you would like to eat Chinese food in Coquitlam especially that there are some special occasions.
The food is great but do not expect great service. It is what I called a normal restaurant. Banging of the utensil as they set up the table. Sometimes the spoon will land in the bowl, sometimes they miss and landed on the plate. You get what I meant. Ignoring all that, the food is great.
As all the other review states, pricier side of dim sum but it is a nicer joint. The pyramid chandiliers were really pretty though. Food was okay, but a tad salty for my liking but I think the deep fried squid was my favorite. But it's hard to mess up something deep fried. Located conveniently across from Coquitlam mall. New Lincoln skytrain is also being built right in front on the new line too.
Great tasting food, goodish service. But definitely a bit on the pricier side. As there aren't many dim sum places in this area, what can you do?
Good Dim Sum. Met my family at Grand Palace for lunch and they had the best dim sum I've had in a long time. I highly recommend the BBQ baked buns, they're the best I've ever eaten! They're not heavy like the ones I've had before. Everything else was pretty good, great prices for the portions. The wait may be a little long but worth the wait.
Had lunch here. We kept ordering more plates, it was so good. Quite tasty, not overly salted. BBQ pork buns were our favourite dish.
Great Place for Dim Sum. I like the dim sum there, and the price is not too bad. I think for a lot of people who have lived in Vancouver for most of their life, they may not appreciate it too much. However, for a person who lived in the east part of Canada for so long, this place is wonderful.
Best Restaurant in Coquitlam. I am a huge dim sum friend so I've tried many places before. Grand Palace Restaurant is my favorite place for Chinese food. Their dim sum has always been incredible. The food comes quickly and is at the highest standard compared to other restaurants. Ambiance is good as the place feels very roomy and is comfortable to sit in unlike MANY crowded restaurants. The restaurant was clean, and even the bathrooms were clean.
We also went there for dinner on New Year's day, the food was very tasty and the price are reasonable for the quality. The service was very professional, servers are attentive and friendly, they keep changing our dirty dishes even they were so busy. Specially, the lady who is in charge she is very friendly and always smile. She ordered some special dishes for us that was the wonderful New Year's dinner we ever had. We will be back.
We enjoyed our visit, but only the service, not the food. After trying both their dim sum and dinner services, I think we will only visit at lunch in the future.
If you're looking for a decent dim sum meal and don't mind a little bit of a language barrier with the staff, Lee Garden Seafood Restaurant is worth checking out. Just be aware that you'll need to wave down a server to get their attention - and be prepared for some surprises with the menu.
Grand Palace is tucked into a upstairs corner of Henderson Place. A nice space with lots of windows, the decor is a little dated but it's still one of the nicer places to bring a guest out to Chinese food in the Tri-Cities.
We usually go early for dim sum and get the usual suspects - dumplings, rice rolls - all of which are nicely done. The food and portions are good, the prices are a bit higher than average but still reasonable. We also appreciate the quick service.
I wish the rest of the mall is a nicer visit, but it means there are always lots of space on the rooftop parkade.
