Review Denny's Of Canada - Coquitlam

My server Donna was excellent. She was hospitable and friendly along with Vinod who took my order right away and then brought my water and orange juice that I ordered with my breakfast meal. I had the Grand Slam which was delicious and plentiful. They also took the time to see how I was doing and personable. Vinod even told me that he had 2 daughters born on the same date 5 years apart. I would recommend you get served by Donna and Vinod. Thank you for making me feel welcome on my visit.

Great service, great food. I miss the Blueberry Pancake Breakfast, but am able to still have it with the build-your-own Slam. It’s my favourite! My eggs were perfectly over easy, the hash browns had a nice crisp top and soft inside and the sausages were tasty. This is about the only restaurant where I order breakfast sausages as I don’t always like the flavour. And of course the blueberry pancakes were outstanding! The coffee is great and frequently refilled. The service is fast, friendly and thoughtful. Lots of parking. I highly recommend.

Massive L. Says open 24 hours on Friday. I am here now and it is closed. Drove all the way here hoping to have a nice breakfast but won’t be open for another 2 hours. Please update hours to actually reflect hours lol. You aren’t open 24 hours on Friday if you miss 7 of the 24 hours. That’s 17 hours fyi.

Strawberry balls were out of this world. Never tasted anything better. The mozzarella sticks weren’t gooey but they tasted amazing. The FF Veggie skillet was sizzling and hot and delicious. The service was good. They asked if we had allergies, which we didn’t, but that was considerate. They offered Franks Red Hot Sauce and that was nice. Overall, 9/10, would come again, especially for the Strawberry Pups.

I had a Breakfast,Order was quick, fresh. Service was very good. They greet you nicely, manager handles everything himself. Definitely go back again .

Our server Rick was the best, he’s really good at his job and knows how to impress the guest. Really enjoyed my visit especially it being my first time in Canada. ☺️

Was there on Christmas Eve. Our food took almost 2 hrs. I get it they were busy But realized ppl after us got there food. When asked the Manager apologized for the delay. As per him he had the kitchen staff clean and our order was missed. He said her would give discount. When we went to pay realized, that a our friends who were there paid our bill. The manager had nothing to say for all the mess with 4 kids waiting for food. I feel bad that I our friends paid as I would have Not paid the full price. On top of that came home to realize that they charged me for cranberry pancakes $5.99 that I never got. Terrible service and terrible customer service. I feel bad that my friends paid for this crappy service.

My family were there Christmas Day. We were ready for a long wait as it was the only restaurant open after our early Christmas Day mass. But, it was just 15 mins wait and the waiter assigned to our table, Patrick, was very warm, cheerfully serving us despite the high demand of the time. We commend this guy for coming to work bringing his best self and made our coming to this restaurant despite the long distance a beautiful experience. Good job, Patrick!

Great food...fast service! Denny's has been around since I was a kid and was even my second job in the food and beverage industry when I was 16 years old as a line cook. Man time flies!

Denny's is MacDonald's with menus and table service... The burgers are good, the service is quick and friendly. The kids like it too - and If they're happy, I'm happy :)

Never a dull moment and always great food. Plus staff is fun.

Absolutely the worst service and experience I have ever had in a restaurant, I ordered the lumber jack slam at 7 pm, food didn't come to the table until 8:15, I had to get up 4 times in that hour and 15 minutes to ask for more coffee and water for my table, it wasn't even that busy. I ordered my eggs medium soft (boiled) and after receiving my order more than an hour later, I cut into the egg and it was cold and hard boiled, when I mentioned this to the waiter he said, " I will send it back and get new ones for you, he then came up to me to tell me it was going to be another 10 minutes...... 10 minutes went by and he said they screwed them up again so it would be another ten minutes. I told him that I was no longer interested in having the eggs as we had already been there for over an hour and a half. Went it came to bill time, the manager thought it was more than fair to simply take the eggs off the bill for my meal, 2$ off, thanks, then the manager told me he wasn't here to give away food and told me that I need to get over it....... so I said nothing and paid the bill, now I'm going to wait until I can speak to upper management/franchise owner and tell them the names of the waiter and the manager and hopefully they won't leave me disappointed like this shit hole establishment did.

been here a couple times, it's what it's and many were because my friend's birthday, so they get a free meal, then the other part is sweet, greasy, sugar craving days where my friend usually want to not care anything about this world and just eat away all the sweets pancakes of denny's so far it's okay, although i must say the only reason that it's good, it's because they don't stop being sweet, they went for super sweet and same with the saltiness of the bacon. so give or take about the over powered tastes.

Today is Christmas Day. Majority of the restaurants are closed except the Chinese ones. It is great that Denny's still opens today. I would like to say thank you Denny's who still opens and their staff who still serve customers on Christmas Day. <br/><br/>Denny's offers a Christmas menu putting away their regular menus today. We ordered an ultimate omelette and lumberjack slam as well as a cup of coffee. Our server provided great customer service although she was swamped serving many customers at the same time. Indeed all their servers were doing a great job overall. Their service was fast as they knew many customers were waiting to be served. <br/><br/>The food was good as the chefs in the kitchen must be so busy cooking for many customers on Christmas Day. I would be happy as long as the servers could do their job well ordering the right food, giving us the right items and continuing to serve us during the meal especially that Christmas Day was the busiest time for them. I wouldn't complain too much. :) by the way, the food was not too greasy. Better than I expected. <br/><br/>The parking lot outside this Denny's is small, so customers may need to park at another parking lot on the other side of the same complex. I was lucky to park outside Denny's as someone was leaving. I wouldn't mind to come back here for breakfast once in a while.

We went there for a friends birthday.  It took a long time before we received service after being seated but once the waiter did make contact he did a good job.  My friend was allowed to order any items on the menu and was given the equivalent of the cost of a grand slam breakfast off her total so that was good and she was impressed with the quality of her meal.  I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and the bacon was too sloppy for my taste so I took it off the burger but other than that the meal was okay.  Had we received quicker service at the start and properly cooked bacon the rating would have been close to perfect.

Absolutely brilliant. Love the tasty food served here, whether the tender chicken or the crispy bacon/nachos... Everything they serve or rather I've had here is delicious. I have been coming here everyday since the past 5 days for at least one meal. <br/>Would highly recommend the Moons over Hammy sandwich and also the zesty nachos.🥙🥓🍽️🍴

I decided to write about this, as I had previously written about their competitor. A competitor that is in the same area, under the same circumstances. After our last choice was a disappointment, we were hoping for a better breakfast here. We were attempting another trip out to the Okanagan. And we were set on having pancakes again, but this time we sought out the “Denny’s” on lougheed to help us.

It was Sunday and I wanted to take myself out for a nice breakfast. Felt like pancakes and bacon. So, I drove over to Denny's. The waitress forgot my bacon and had to go back for it. The pancakes were severely dry and tasted like they sat in a warming dra

Food not palatable. We went to Denny's in Austin Ave Coquitlam and I ordered for the first time the samplers with Jalapeno bottle caps which were too salty. I tried dipping it in the sauce but I still couldn't swallow it. I asked the waiter if the jalapenos really should taste like that. He first said he will ask if he can change it with another choice of the sampler but he came back and said they can't change it which means too bad I ordered that. The worse is that they made me pay for the whole thing instead of just charging for 2 choices (I ordered the 3 choices).<br/>Anyways, I'm just disappointed and disgusted we are NEVER going back there again.

Worst experience.. This was my second visit to Denny's ever. I had a bad experience first time and thought maybe I'll try it again. The food and service was terrible. I ordered the original grand slam plus added hashbrowns. My eggs were VERY undercooked, my bacon was burnt and they were very, very small pieces... My sausages were cold and undercooked. I never received my hash browns. Pancakes also came with the order. They gave us a practically empty syrup bottle with barely anything in there but that didn't matter because they placed everything onto one tiny plate. The egg yolks burst and went all over my pancakes. I couldn't eat anything... I ordered hot chocolate even before I ordered my meal and I received it last, minutes before leaving. My friend and I sat ourselves. A couple came in after us and they were served and finished their meal around the same time I received my meal. Overall, I'm never going there again. I left the restaurant more hungrier than before.

Horrible servers and food.. Usually go to Denny's late night and regret going everytime, it's the only place open that late. This time was the last, I ordered my food and almost immediately found a spider in the very cold and undercooked hash browns. It took forever to get the waitress as for she was not really busy and was more concerned about standing around, and had a bad attitude since I walked in. She finally walked over and I really hate to complain but I showed her the spider*yes she did see it*. She asked if I wanted new food to be brought out I said no thanks as for there was just a live moving spider in the food. She walked away and then came back with a bill for the food, wich had a spider in it and was beraly touched. Unbelievable I will never be going back again why go out of my way to deal with rude people and bad food. Horrible customer service! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, I've had better food at fast food drive throughs than at Denny's. Save your time and money use a drive though!

Sooo disgusted!! Went ti Dennys and there was a man with only one arm and ya he looked homeless and like he possibly had an addiction problem.. he orders his food, 5 minutes later the waitress comes up and asks that he pays first... He whips out a pocket full of cash and pays, 5 minutes later he orders a beer, again she makes him pay (knowing he has a pocket full of money) his food comes all the waitresses are like standing around laughing about him and talking.. On our way out my friend asks why she would make him pay first and she says she was making an educated guess. Poor guy I felt so bad for him. Told the lady i wouldnt be back and that her behavior was disgusting.. IM SOOOO MAD!!!!

Denny's is Denny's, the servers here are nice though!. Although the service at this Denny's is always pleasant and on top of it, I just cannot get past the prices for this quality of food. It just does not match. I think the pancakes would actually be nice if they cut down the amount of sugar by 35%.

Tried their egg-white omelette and it was full of cheese and veges. Very good, not so greasy.

Denny's Represents. This is a great Denny's when you are craving what Denny's has to offer. My hubby doesn't like breakfast and I love it so this is the perfect compromise. The server's are super friendly and we are always surprised by how fast the food comes out. Occasionally I will get a burger as they are great and we also like the seasoned fries. We never stray from breakfast or burgers. Our bevrages are refilled frequently and we are greeted with smiles. What more could we ask from a diner-like establishment? I also take-out breakfast occasionally and have never had anything missing from my order which is A+ in my books. The food is greasy spoon so if you don't like that: you won't be pleased with your food.

Great servers. Don't we love to hate Denny's. Greasy food but oh so good sometimes. The servers here are awesome and they seem to have built rapport with a lot of the customers. All Denny's food is the same but it's the service at this location that keeps me coming back.

Denny's in Burquitlam newly renovated and I am not sure why. I do not remember the restaurant looking run down or anything at all. It is possible since I only come here for late night dinners, I do not notice the interior. I doubt it though, I think it was fine before. The walls and ceiling are newly painted, and the booth seatings have completely changed. I guess the tables, carpet and whatnot has too but I do not remember what they looked like before. I was actually really looking forward to coming here after having egg bennies at White Spot , blech. HOT CHICKEN WINGS ($10.99). The wings are not on the new menu but you can still ask for them. The sauce tastes medium spicy, has no vinegar taste and is average. The wings are a wee bit too soggy but not dry, or juicy. PRIME RIB, TWO POACHED EGGS, TENDER STRIPS OF PRIME RIB, OUR OWN FAJITA BLEND OF PEPPERS AND ONIONS, ON A TOASTED ENGLISH MUFFIN AND COVERED WITH DENNY'S CREAMY, BUTTERY HORSERADISH HOLLANDAISE SAUCE, SERVED WITH RED SKINN

So yeah, two mediocre breakfasts in one week! I would probably say I prefer IKEA breakfast over Denny’s–most of the items at Denny’s are around $10 and I definitely wouldn’t want to pay that much for what we had. My favourite breakfast place in Coquitlam is actually Jimmy’s Place on North Road…but more on that later.

I guess the moral of the story is this: don’t expect fresh fruits from Denny’s. If you’re going there, might as well as go for it and get all the greasy stuff.

There's just something about eating breakfast at dinner that makes me feel good, especially a big and full breakfast with a fraction of the price.
