This truly is fine Thai cuisine; gourmet, in fact. Unlike any Thai restaurant we’ve patronized in Greater Vancouver. Unique, delicious dishes and a refined atmosphere without being stuffy. Pricy and small portions, but ever so tasty. When you’re in the mood for sophisticated Thai food and can look past the prices, this is the place to go in Tri-Cities. I’d have given it 5 stars if it weren’t for the steep prices. Very popular place and not very big, so you may want to call ahead.
Chada Thai, not to be confused with Chad Thai in North Burnaby, is located in the Pinetree Village shopping centre in Coquitlam, next door to C-Lovers Fish & Chips. The inside of this cozy Thai place is rather dark and shaped like an “L” with the kitchen taking up a big portion of the restaurant.
Great flavour. The pad Thai has large prawns and the staff are nice and friendly. One of my favourite locations for Thai. A bit on the pricier side. Highly recommended for dine in.
Unbelievably great food! But, it comes at a price! We averaged around $20 per person but food here is highly recommended.
A must visit place with good seating arrangement and extra polite staff makes you feel special too
Would you believe the best thai curry in the Lower Mainland is situated in a sketchy shopping plaza near Coquitlam center? Believe it. I was very skeptical of Chada Thai given its fairly high prices (almost $20 for the curries) and blacked out windows preventing you from seeing the depressing view outside. I wasn't blown away by the dining experience with the overly elegant atmosphere for a Thai place and cramped seating, but the curries were at Chada were spectacular. We tried both the green curry with chicken (requested to be 15 out of 12 on their spice scale) and a medium spiced red curry with prawns. While the green curry was disappointingly mild, it was unbelievably good. It was up there with my experiences at Wondee Siam in NY, Bangkok Garden in Toronto and Lotus of Siam in Las Vegas. We also ordered a medium-spiced green curry as takeout for our babysitter but it ended up being very spicy. I suppose my 15 spice level confused the chef. More likely it's the fact the nobody takes me seriously when I boast about my high threshold for spicy food. At Chada, I also recommend the summer rolls pictured below but pretty much everything else on the menu should be skipped, including the pad see ew and pad thai.
Great Food, Excellent Service. I absolutely adore Chada Thai. The staff are always very attentive and the food is always top quality. Their lunch specials, which are very generous in portion, are of great value and delight the senses. The decor inside is also pretty neat, too. It can, however, get kind of crowded during busy periods and the seating is limited. The dinner menu can be pricey too, but the Pad Thai and Chicken Cashew are second to none in the area and are worth it.
This place always serves consistently good curries, pad Thai and other Thai dishes. It's more of a fine dining place compared to the ther Thai restaurants in the tri-cities. The place could definitely expand as its always packed in there.
Curry dishes here are really good and I strayed and had the pad Thai last time and it was phenomenal! Taste is consistently good, there has been two times in the past where they skimped on the chicken in the curry dishes.
Beautiful Good Food (and service). I came on a Friday evening on a groupon deal and even though it was busy and I paid at a discounted rate, the staff was still very attentive. The food is beautiful and more importantly, it's good. I ordered the duck comfit which had a crispy skin with the fat almost melted underneath. I highly recommend it. Paid a good tip and left happy.
Authentic thai food, yum!. Food was great. We had a good time. The service was good. Tables were kind of crowded but that's ok, the customer service and food made up for it!
They give you the option of how spicy the dishes will be. The herbs n spices were authentic. I would come back to it again for sure!
Food and service was absolutely amazing my boyfriend and I shared the mango roll, pad Thai, chicken peanut butter sauce and the F.B.I. For dessert! And everything was very good especially for the price. Defenatly going back there again
Good Good~. I like this place! Wanting for more in the future!!
Awesome!. I go monthly, mostly for lunch. The food is always sublime, and the presentation is elegant. The decore is charming and authentic.
Very good. We went here to use a Groupon. We were very pleased- great food, good portions and very very friendly staff. The place is small and maybe not so child friendly but you should definitely try it- we will return for sure (maybe without the kids!)
Good food in a pleasant setting. Good food prepared with attention to detail and with not too much fire if you care to ask for reduced spiciness beforehand. Owner is on the premises and very pleasant and attentive to the guests wishes.
Been to Thailand many times and I love Thsi food. Very authentic thai food with fine dining twist.
Come, discover what delicious curry is all about!. I think many people are put off by the very word 'CURRY'! Visions of gluey, mustard yellow gunk on your plate as a kid? You must get over that and come in for some green curry chicken.... aromatic and delicious! Don't let the strip-mall location put you off; this tiny place serves up authentic Thai cuisine. My favourite lunch spot!
This place has the best tasting Thai food in the lower mainland. Quick way to know if the thai place is authentic - ask for sticky rice instead of the jasmine rice. Southeast Asians love sticky rice (Laos, Thailand, Burma) and any real Thai place will have sticky rice whereas the Chinese-owned so-called Thai places (which can still be good) won't. I agree that this place is too expensive. Dinner dishes are around $17 each but they don't charge you for the first serving of rice, whereas most places do. Rice is so cheap that I think at $17 per dish it should be all you can eat rice and I don't think with the staff who made next to nothing the dishes should be so expensive. That said, it is without doubt the best tasting Thai food, and once you've had their Pad Thai you won't be able to eat it anywhere else. I suggest you ask for no bean sprouts on your pad thai because they put so many that it detracts from the taste of the noodles. The red curry and the cashew chicken are my other favourites. Try the curries with sticky rice instead. So not a place I could afford to eat at every day but definitely worth the occasional visit.
Amazing. This place is amazing! everything at lunch is $10.00 and so tasty!
Be careful, medium is really hot! even if your used to spicy start with mild!
Great food and great service. My wife, daughter and I were in the mood for Thai, but didn't have the time to go to our favorite spot downtown. A shake on urbanspoon turned up this spot, and I'm glad it did. The food was fantastic!
Since my vacation to Thailand I have been in search of a restaurant that serves pad Thai as good as all the pad Thai I had while there. After many dissapointments my mom and I ventured in here and let's just say that a monster has been created! If your looking for GOOD authentic Thai food this is the place! lunch specials are $10 which is average at most places it come with the main dish soup and salad. Only thing is the dinner dishes are a little pricey as are lots of places now but for really good thai lunch (taste/portion) this is THE place to go!
The servings are not huge, but you’ll be full when you finish everything on the plate. The service was good.
Overall, Chada Thai is not bad; it is a good place to go for lunch if you like spicy food and is in the area.
I've been to Chada Thai once before for their lunch special. I did enjoy eating it, although my lunch partners at the time wouldn't stop complaining about portion size and price point ($10). I didn't mind it.
Chada Thai Fine Cuisine is a small restaurant located in the strip mall (next to Save on Food) across from Coquitlam center. From the outside, I really couldn't tell much, because it looked like your typical neighborhood restaurant.
Thai food again. What can I say though - when we get a hankering for any type of food, we tend to indulge until we get a little bit of food coma. In the case of Thai food, any time is good for Thai food! We were near Coquitlam Town Center one weekend and
We tried green curry with beef, chicken satay skewer and a dessert mango sticky rice. Everything was so tasty😍 and great service
Spectacular service- we enjoyed the new menu. The staff was very accommodating to our order request of substituting the Tom Kan soup with seafood items and adding rice noodles.
Amazing food! We ordered the lunch special and the vegan dairy-free coconut ice cream, not to mention everything else. The food was fantastic, and I would come back just for the ice cream! The service was outstanding as well. Overall, it had a very cozy and comfortable feeling. Highly recommend!
We have been coming to Chada Thai from the very beginning. Allow it has changed owners a few times it constantly remains to be very good! We usually go for lunch which is an excellent value. The portions, presentation and service are always consistent. The service is outstanding and always friendly. We went for dinner and found the portions larger than lunch which is reflected in the higher price. Local brewery beer was $6.00 which is very reasonable. A considerable amount of skip the dishes and take out was being done but the service in the restaurant remained attentive and very good. The restaurant has probably been open to dine in for a few months since being closed due to Covid. It was takeout only for almost 3 years. An absolute gem in Coquitlam!
We had the Pad Thai, the Red Curry with Coconut rice and the Shrimp Cakes and everything was really outstandingly delicious!
We had excellent service from the staff as well! They were so friendly and excited to have us and made great conversation with us while making sure we were well taken care of.
The thai iced tea was delicious as well!
We have struggled to find a good Thai Food place in Coquitlam/Burnaby and we will be coming here from now on! It's so refreshing to find a place who cares so much about their food. Our server told us they import their pad Thai noodles straight from Thailand!
Really a great local business to support, if you are considering stopping by, you won't be disappointed.
Also worth noting, the place is air conditioned and they have great portion sizes at a very reasonable price point.
Everything was served to us piping hot and it couldn't have been any fresher!
We keep coming back, not just for the friendly service, but also for the great flavor. Mr.'s favorite is the fried rice, mine is the curry and kiddos is the chicken skewers. Lunch special is generous and priced well and comes with delicious crispy stuffed wontons. There's good reason they're busy, so plan ahead or avoid the peak meal times if you want your order in under 30 minutes.

Absolutely delicious food and great service. Even though they were very busy they made sure we were well taken care of. The Seafood was fresh, the red curry was the perfect spice. We also enjoyed the Thai spring rolls. We will definitely be going back soon!
Excellent food and service. Flavours are on point and portions are great. Our usual go-to's are pad see ew, pad kee mow, chefs special fried rice and the red thai curry.
