The Old Country Market in Coombs is a great little afternoon destination. You can look at goats, buy some quirky souvenirs, shop for neat imported kitchenware and ingredients, and grab a bite to eat!
Their cafe inside has many delicious items. You can't go wrong. I recommend getting their pulled pork, chipoltle chicken, and braised beef tacos. Their beet and goat cheese salad is also very good, although they could put more cheese in it :)
Great place to come for lunch and do a little shopping. Service was fast and friendly. I had the Swiss burger(the special) it was great. Sat on the patio and watched the goats graze on the roof. We will come again.
Worth the stop.. I've been coming here since I was 2 so I am a bit biased... Hard to find anything to argue with here. Classic Diner food along with Fish and Chips. The baked goods are amazing. It's definately a tourist trap, but one you'll be glad you fell into.
Fast Service, Best Beef Dip!!!. Came with my kids and wow, what a market!!! We ordered to kids hamburger meals with fries, they also came with free ice cream. Not bad for the price! The portions where great! I had the best beef dip ever! So good in fact we came back again for lunch 2 days later before we had to catch the ferry home. The beef is smoked and sliced on the thicker side and loaded in the roll with mushrooms and fried onions. I also got the fries. The portions were so huge it kept me full past diner time! I thought the prices were okay if your a smart shopper! Our 3 meals with 3 drinks and side pasta salad came out to $40. Had I known they have a water fountain with glasses I would have easily saved much more money. Well worth the trip here!
It's not cheap, but it is good! Kids chicken strip meals are huge. Soups and sandwiches were quite good and salads were excellent.
Like it, BUT... If you order the meal sized salad ( I had a Mediterranean salad), be prepared for a tiny portion. Other than that, nice side of the road place to have burgers/fries.
I quite enjoyed my juicy rotisserie chicken for lunch. The option of a fresh deli salads such as Greek or potato seemed like a nice change from the typical soup/green salad or fries. I'm surprised to see others considered it expensive. I thought it was a good value.
Great place to stop and lunch. Great location. Great food. Great atmosphere.

You think that the food is $$ but your portions are huge! We shared a markets place favourite burger and subbed for the sweet (yam) fries.

Good burgers and nice selection for kids. Was a little spendy but got good sized burgers alot of fries and it was fresh and hot so well worth the price. Be warned, on the weekend at lunch time it is busy!!
This place is high quality all around. Not tacky tourism. The goats hanging out on the roof are awesome!!! The fruit store, garden centre, skateboard shop, and restaurants in the back are all really good stores to peruse about. Very impressed. The owners did this architecturally right all the way.
Just clicked the pics of food. Loved the place and the ambience. Bought amazing veggies and Donuts. Wild Honey was really amazing and so was the Apricot Syrup from the Grocery place. Mushroom was super economical as 99 cents and Mango was freshly picked. Amazing sweet potatoes too. Donuts were really good and the best I've had forever.

Great shops with unique products. Excellent selections at the deli including smoked salmon and various jerky products. Plenty of parking and a great place to get out and stretch being about half way between Victoria and Tofino right along the route.
Didn't see any goats on roofs when I went unfortunately but did find 2 in a back pen! Even goatless it was a beautiful place to visit. Found so many fun souvenirs to bring home with me. Spent many hours just exploring all the shops in the area
It's a bit like an Ikea but with an international assortment of curated foodstuffs (local and imports), decorative goods, toys, baked goods, housewares, and more.
